Sadly have had to leave this vets. Was my only and preferred vets for a current and a past cat but the costing methods and some inconsistences have left me disappointed and with no choice. Recently my robust cat had some acne/allergy after no issues in 6years. Called for costings/consultation and was originally told £60 for consultation! In slight shock, left it and phoned other vets who were cheaper so called Highcroft back to double check, then quoted £52 for consultation, was told they made a mistake. 1st red flag. Accepted and took cat in, gave benefit of the doubt. Total £90. £52 consultation, £38 for anti itching injection. Great vets, reassuring and got to the issue quickly. Advised to come back if issue persists. Called back after 4weeks and requested availability for a top up on existing medication as advised by vet as some areas on skin not healed due to cat scratching affected area and putting any progress back again. Asked what costs this would incur as its just a top up so surely just a small cost for administering the same jab and cost of medication. Advisor was unsure, then was advised another full £52 consultation fee would apply. Requested the advisor double check this, as the cats issue is same as before, just delay in healing. They reconfirmed the full charge of £52 on top of the meds would still apply. So presumably another nearly £100 for an injection for the same issue. Let down by inconsistent, varying and exorbitant costing methods, shame, I thought they were a good practice.

When I first stepped into Highcroft Eastville with my then 8-week-old kitten, Yuki, I wasn't expecting the first-class service I was given. In fact, I had no idea how amazing this practice is. Not only are the staff bright, friendly, cheerful and sparkling with knowledge, the premises are also very light and airy, as well as being kept clean and comfortable. To me this seemed more like a 5-star pet hotel than a veterinary clinic! The wonderful vets here have helped my Yuki, now just over a year old, with many issues and health problems - and she is now a very healthy and lively little cat! The animal hospital at Witchurch is also a laudable offshoot of the Highcroft group. When Yuki had to be hospitalised as a kitten, the ambulance service were happy to take her there, where she received A-star treatment. Without a doubt this is the best vet service I have ever come across - and I've grown up with cats since I was born. The staff now know me and we have a great rapport, so I know Yuki will be able to access the best care I can give her for the rest of her life. I will definitely shout about Highcroft from the highest rooftop I can find!

Reception staff are welcoming and friendly. The vets were thorough, knowledgeable and gentle in examining our dog. I had a bad experience with the practice in preparing for a trip to France with the dog. The practice did not communicate the most effective timing of a blood test after the rabies jab, this likely caused the need to re-do the rabies jab. A small discount was offered on these additional costs and reception staff were helpful in getting the certificate to me quickly. They also did not communicate the need for worm treatments to be carried out in France (in addition to the regular feworm treatment the dog is on) for the dog to be allowed back into the UK. Their complaint response was a combination of sending lots of notes , none stating clearly that a treatment has to be carried out in France in addition to the regular treatment she is on. Also my complaint was dismissed because I should be expected to read their quarterly newsletter, that references the Defra website. Bright vets, but no protocol for a simple often repeated piece of advice.

I feel this Group of vetanary centers is more interested in charging exorbitant fees than actually getting any treatment or diagnosis correct. Earlier on I have written that we were charged 4k for very little prognosis. We have had a unwell cat, possibly IBD. This week I feel like I have been passed between the hospital and clinic with very few answers. I have decided to read up myself about the condition. This Practice can't even seem to get it's dosing right. It seems they have underdosed the prednisolone and they had previously underdosed the rehydration medication. They have previously not communicated that thyroid meds must not be crushed. Poor communication, poor diagnosis, astronomical fees.

One of my dogs hated the spot on treatment so much so I would have to go to the bottom of the garden to get it out of blister pack. The vets knew this but declined to consider alternatives. Refused to let me pay 12 months vaccinations/flea & worm treatment rather than monthly. One of the receptionists quite rude. I went elsewhere. My new vet is happy for me to pay in advance and instead of a spot on treatment gives Bravecto an oral medicine taken every 3 months. Dog delighted as am I. Oh yes cheaper than Highcost.

We recently moved to this practice, having been rather unhappy with the vets with whom we were previously registered. The receptionists are friendly, welcoming and cheerful; the centre is spacious comfortable and seems very organised and professional. We have seen two vets; first with our greyhound and today with our six-month old Tonkinese kitten. Both vets were extremely thorough, very informative and provided detailed explanations of both appropriate treatments and the likely cost without having to be asked!

Staff at reception are absolutely lovely. The vets are really good with animals. Sadly I lost my fur baby bailey Sunday 3rd she had just had blood test results and told pick up antibiotics Monday but Sunday morning she was gone. I don't know what happened. But I'd still recommend this place. Can't blame them for the hurt I feel the loss the not knowing what happened sadly missed always loved run free over the rainbow bridge RIP BAILEY PADFIELD X

We came home and our dog Sasha was unable to get off the sofa, not eating and very quiet which is unheard of in our usual bouncy cocker spaniel. The team were fantastic and got us an appointment within 15 minutes to see James. He was able to fully assess her, give expert advice and she has recovered very quickly. Thank you for all your help.

My dog Pepe was suddenly taken ill with kidney stones and a blockage in his bladder I took him to Highcroft at Muller road and his treatment began immediately. He was transfered to the Highcroft pet hospital and was operated on. He has gone on to make a remarkable recovery. Well done Highcroft

  • Curtis Anderson

Great friendly vets and staff. I've got a slightly nervous dog and feel I can take him in confident that he's not going to be put in a position where he might kick off. Vets always provide clear and honest feedback about his health which will hopefully prevent any conditions arsing.

  • Alec Lockhart
