"Not the best public relations by the office of Councilor Anne Stevenson who can go for months without following through on basic commitments to read and respond to emails"

Not the best public relations by the office of Councilor Anne Stevenson who can go for months without following through on basic commitments to read and respond to emails. Public engagement from this office focuses primarily on English-speaking people who keep roughly city work hours which does not allow up to one-third of constituents in her ward to provide input or complaints. Her office's default policy mindset, much like that of administration, appears to be from that of upper-middle class people with secure housing and income, unlike many people who live in the councilor's area. When confronted about her exclusionary practices, the office suggests that the marginalized communities do the work to make sure they are heard, instead of her office taking responsibility to invest resources in learning and finding out who they are not adequately engaging. Meanwhile, they continue to make decisions without key information. When confronted about basic infrastructure safety issues (warped and jagged sidewalks, slippery cycling surfaces, poor drainage), those are excused for being under bigger City of Edmonton strategies that somehow the City of Edmonton is not responsible for implementing.
This is the most unfair city in the world. They strictly impose the sidewalk snow removal law to the citizens and the city itself doesn’t clean its own sidewalks. What i mean by strictly is even if there a tiny bit of snow, they give out warnings and tickets. I live by a public school, guess what? Its a darn highway of foot traffic and they pack the snow like crazy, becomes rock solid. Not only i pay highly inflated property taxes to fund the useless LRT to the south, which is being built in close proximity to another LRT that also goes to the south.. i have to volunteer my time and energy to remove rock solid ice and snow for other tax paying citizens ! in my opinion, city should be responsible for the side walks in high foot traffic areas! omg i can make a whole youtube channel career daily taking about this cartoon like hypocritical city.

1st and Foremost what A Beautiful city... Its unfortunate that in A New area of the city not everyone takes care of their property and park where they like...and how they like.... But I couldnt ask for A better system when the city jump in and help...they truly are there for your peace of mind and to be comfortable where you live and make sure people are taking care of their property.. and parking where they are supposed to.. Thankyou for the efficiency and the Amazing customer service...I appreciate what you guys do...
In the heart of Edmonton very superior location near the train station and bus station and the popular tourist spot like art gallery of Alberta and Royal Alberta Museum. The building had pyramid roof which is very distinguishable. Has an underground parking lot or can park street side. Good place to have little walk and chill. Little windy when winter because it’s open space. Usually this is the place have some public events like fireworks or Eats of Edmonton food festival. A must visit spot in Edmonton downtown.
There should be a true designated set of microphones/ "seats" for people who are dependent on wheelchairs, walkers and canes/crutches. At the moment they do not have this area. They have places where they have chairs and mostly other city employees tend to occupy if in attendance. Accessibility should not be a question on where to place a person in attendance. It should be simple. Don't get me wrong the clerks office staff and administration working the meetings are wonderful in doing their best to help us out.
Beautiful place with incredible sight lines, lovely light and good people! Home of the Kokoro Dance and Formolo Dance residency for Alberta Dance Alliance with Jay Hirabayshi of Japan and Barbara Bourget of Royal Winnipeg Ballet as part of the Works Festival! A Butoh Modern Dance Intensive Performance. Local St. Albert pro dancer, Terri Lynne Critchley from St. Albert School of Dance and Grant Mackewan Community College included in the group of performers of Butoh. Featured in the Edmonton Journal!
We dropped by during a recent visit to Edmonton and were really impressed with the modern design and architecture. We were here after official government hours and were surprised that the public spaces remain open so we walked around and took pictures, and checked out the public exhibits. The cleaners really keep the place spotless, including the public restrooms! So yeah, kudos to the city government for the overall pleasant visitor experience!
The city has seen an increase in drug use at public transit centers, leading to stricter enforcement of drug use laws in these areas. However, the same level of enforcement has not been observed at city hall. It is crucial to maintain consistent enforcement of drug use laws across all public spaces to ensure the safety and well-being of the community.
Aside from being where Council and Administration can be found, City Hall hosts a number of events each year and several gallery spaces showcasing a number of exhibitions about the city and current topics of the day. There's also lots of parking at and nearby, along with a number of other things to see and do in the area.
Not sure why you have hired ppl to do whatever it is they are doing. They stand in a group talking and all i really saw them do was ask a dad to take his son out as he had a diaper on, he wouldnt even go fully in the water he was just walking on the step! But yet we are surrounded by bums sleeping and smoking everywhere!
I had the chance to attend city hall school with 2 of my girls and had an amazing time with a wonderful lady (Ms Hutt) we had a chance to meet the mayor ,we got to witness police graduation, attend city hall meeting, learned tons about our
I have lived in Edmonton most of my life so I remember back in 1990 when this building was being built. It is designed by a famous architect here in Edmonton Gene Dub of Dub architects. Quite controversial at the time. But after it was
Bought a condo in Edmonton that came with a parking spot. Apparently that parking spot came with a separate title that I was unaware. City of Edm never sent proper tax notices. City changed my contact address for the condo but not the
Just been a visitor in the city, but surprised how clean and modern the city hall is. Free access around the building also deserve a thumb up. It was neat that they organized free skate ring and hot chocolate outside during winter
One of Edmonton's distinctive public spaces, city hall is a great place to visit, esspecialy in the summer. The unique architecture combines with large spaces to create an enjoyable space for events or just visiting.
Glad they host the farmers market in winter. Where else would I find a shouting El Salvadorian man selling me magic coffee that is a miracle cure for everything under the Sun? You know, because it's organic, duh.
Spoke with Veronica @311 option 6. She went above and beyond to answer my inquiry and I really appreciated it. With the city of this size I was impressed with the level of service I received. Thank you so much.
Dealing with city of Edmonton government is horrendous no matter what office, sector or level. All they are there for is to take your money, inpose unjust taxes and fines and give you nothing in return.
Great room for hosting community events (must be non-ticketed events.) Fountain and plaza just reopened, and I think they function and look a lot better. Beautiful building inside and out.
Great place to meet up with friends or to just head to and hang out and see what exhibits are on display. The wading pool is also a popular attraction during hot summer days.
Beautiful! I have not been in our City Hall for decades. Was there for a graduation from ERCP - Emergency Rsponse Career Pathways. What a space. Need to go agin for a tour.
Our city hall is beautiful, I used it to film a project back in Grade 9, good old memories. The fountain's also look great, but I heard you can't swim in it anymore :(
Pretty Plaza Visit few times during different seasons. Whatever summer or winter, it has different view to show you how AB government taking good care of this city
Beautifully lit and spacious interior design. Best part is the skating rink out front for the winter time and the wading pool to cool off downtown in the summer.
I give it 5 Stars for the fact we are free enough in this country to be able to walk right up to the mayor's office, and city council freely.
Beautiful designed building with a beautiful skylight. It's open to the public with some lots of historical plaques about Edmonton's history.
Still a great parkade, that I can use my Epark app to pay for. Unfortunately, access is currently only from the south due to construction.
Lovely space and great atmosphere for music and dancing. Underground parking offers a convenience bonus, particularly on Sunday's.
They think charging citizens for paper bags and making them ask for condiment packs will make the weather better. I want a refund.
Love the free skating and music on the weekends! They could add to it by inviting foodtrucks and adding lights.
They SHOULD call it the Nathan Fillion Civilian Pavilion, inside of City Hall. Then I would rate 5 stars.
Great public space with lots of events happening year round! Don't forget your skates in the wintertime!
The architecture and exhibitions are stunning, but the surroundings are filled with weird people.
Public washrooms and drinking fountain available here.
Parking was good. Nice building. Washrooms were clean.
