I was thrilled when we found Escuela! After many years in various private schools in the Albuquerque area I knew that I wanted to start my children off on different footing. Although I always had a great education and was very blessed, I didn't have a love of learning like some of my peers. I somehow always felt like I had to work harder to understand what we were learning and that I didn't have a strong foundation to build from. When my oldest son was in kindergarten I knew I wanted to find the best school for him and my other two children. We looked into, Manzano, Mountain view private school, St. Mary's and other catholic schools, but when we went to Escuela for a visit it knocked our socks off! The kids were so respectful, the classrooms (although chaotic upon first glance) had an order to them with multi-aged classroom structures, we saw tiny 3 and 4 year old kids working and playing independently, we saw 6 year old's doing multiplication in the millions. (seriously!!!) We saw teachers who were so quiet and caring. No yelling to get a Childs attention or children being forced to sit for 7 hours a day. There wasn't 20 chairs facing a chalk board and children being lectured at. Kids were eeeeverywhere! Some were laying down independently reading, some were outside doing experiments and their were small groups of kids working quietly. It absolutely, to my brain at least, looked like a mad house haha but when you get a little insight to what is really going on, you start to notice 3rd graders helping 1st graders understand the materials to do multiplication in the millions, you see preschoolers cutting up and handing out snack to their peers, you see a kid who was overwhelmed able to step away for a second and calm themselves down. all of this goes on with the most amazing and caring teachers overseeing it all. I'm so in love with the Montessori way of teaching. My children, now in second and third grade are able to advocate for themselves, they are given "homework" that includes helping with the dishes and laundry and any other home task. They are encouraged to be an asset to their community, could be their school community or their family unit or larger. They are taught that they are apart of the larger collective and to be an asset to that. We did have to definitely adapt our parenting styles, there is now A LOT more explanations of "why" we are doing something or why things have to be done but you can definitely see that the world is unfolding differently now. If you are able, do yourself and your child a favor, and looking to the Montessori method and Escuela del sol! You wont regret it!

Escuela Del Sol Montessori is more than just a school, it is an extended family that we trust for protecting and safely teaching our child in these new times. Every child is unique and needs to be fostered in a way that promotes their strengths while acknowledging/addressing their weaknesses. At Escuela del Sol, the extraordinary teachers and staff implement this teaching model with loving care and support for every child. Our child has grown tenfold in the time they have been there and we are overjoyed with all the progress that has been made and the support we have been given. We are part of the education "team", which includes the teachers and staff, giving us clear visibility into what we need to do as parents to help our child succeed. Escuela del Sol has risen to the occasion and implemented a stellar Covid Operation Plan that is succeeding. Our child has been responsive to the daily implementation of extra safety and has even thrived under these circumstances. We could not be happier or more impressed with the top rate teachers and administrators at Escuela del Sol. Kudos to the hard working staff and teachers of Escuela del Sol Montessori for keeping the community safe, while advancing every child's learning experience and helping them navigate this new reality of our world.

My husband attended Escuela del Sol for elementary school, and when it came time to find a school for our own child - now children - he wanted to come back to the place he felt shaped the way he learns and relates to world. We have found Escuela to be a place that meets each of our very different children where they are. They are challenged academically and nurtured socially. The teachers and staff have become our school family and the lush Escuela campus has become our second home. My children can't wait to get to school each morning, and ask for every last minute before leaving at the end of the day. Academically, my children have grown into people with an insatiable thirst for knowledge and a deep love of learning – and for that, we credit the teachers and the culture at Escuela. I can't imagine a better place for children to learn and grow in a safe and nurturing environment.

"Our child has been at Escuela since he was 18 months old. We were delighted with the option for him to attend on campus a couple days a week, with the carefully planned procedures to promote safety. Escuela has created an inviting outdoor work space, and he comes home energized from his two days at school. We have also been pleased with the improved online platform that I feel is easy for a child to navigate. With a hybrid system, he is able to turn in his work in various ways. That is, he can work in his notebook and show his teachers what he has done when he returns to school. One more thing, I really appreciate that the Escuela administration gives families the opportunity to fill out surveys related to school preparation and continues to seek parent input as we navigate these waters."

Escuela del Sol Montessori is a wonderful school! Our daughter has attended Escuela del Sol Montessori since she was 18 months and is currently a student in the elementary program. Escuela del Sol Montessori is a nurturing and caring environment where the teachers encourage creative thinking, create personalized learning and embrace individuality and community. Our daughter is self motivated, loves to learn and loves her teachers. The music, art and outdoor education programs are excellent at Escuela del Sol Montessori and it is the perfect school to prepare our daughter academically and socially for the future.

My two daughters attended Escuela del Sol Montessori from pre-school right through the elementary program and I can’t imagine a warmer, more nurturing educational environment anywhere. Not only did Escuela del Sol prepare my daughters academically for middle school, but they ignited an awareness and social conscience that has ensured they are both self motivated, endlessly curious, high achieving middle school students. The Escuela del Sol Montessori experience is geared to nurture a lifelong love of learning, and help your child shine as an individual. Highest recommendation.

Escuela del Sol is a wonderful fit for our family, allowing our two elementary-aged children to learn at their own paces and to grow in curiosity, abilities, and understanding. During the pandemic we've been very impressed by all the teachers' ability to adapt to distance learning, and appreciative of the extra effort everyone is giving to include students at home. Escuela del Sol provides a fantastic education and nurturing environment for all students, both on campus and remotely.

While researching pre-schools & daycares for my Godson, found this place. Seems great, great location, caregivers are educated and committed...too bad they do not accept assistance from the State...people who CAN afford it, their children benefit...not others. Disappointed

Perfect school for anyone who wants their child to become independent critical thinkers, who are self-motivated, who love and want to become involved in the community, will become mentors to classmates, and love learning!
