"I love biking on this trail way"
I went on the Trail to walk and I was loving it but got the strange feeling that the park workers were following me. I saw two separate golf type buggies, two persons each. The first set were male and female, both he and she had dirty blond, shaggy hair. Wherever I went they were and there they were again, stopping, staring, doing nothing, but being right there watching me. Few minutes later there they are again as I hear their buggie or cart appraoching behind me. I kept walking down...there on the other side he and she in yellow shirts and khakis shouted out in what sounded like a male voice the signature Tarzan roar; Odd! The other set were two males in blue button up, short sleeves driving along behind me as I went further 2 miles down. The further I went alone there they were behind me" circling and doing apparently nothing, but checking how far I was going! I just have to say I believe the people at the park choose pedestrians they want to stalk like beautiful slender young black women when she is all alone!
I gave it 3 stars because it is nice when you go during the week. There aren't so many people there trying to give you dirty looks. We rarely go here because I think Brackenridge Park is alot better. The people are friendly, there's more for the kids to do and they can also play in the water if it gets too hot, most of Brack is shaded, except the playground, which we rarely use because my son loves biking the little trails. But sometimes we don't feel like driving far so we will come here for a very short while. If you have a long board and no kids the trails are pretty fun.
Good spot to fish i recommend fishing at 4 -7 with cut up bluegill for catfish or in the early morning when its not too hot. Cast out to the middle of the River with no float and let it hit the bottom, use a big weight maybe a 2 oz for distance. For Bass i recommend fishing the south side of the River south of the dam use a nightcrawler cut in 3rds then thread it on a bait hook size 10 or 12 with 3 split shots 8 inches above the hook no float just hop it. For tilapia i recommend using a cast net on the eastside of the River their is a dock throw a cast net out there.
the scenery is beautiful and there's is plenty to do at the park. you can go fishing, biking, walking, skateboarding and explore the little walk ways through the trees. some of the park is currently under construction but when it's finished it's gonna look amazing. the only reason i give the park a 4 instead of a perfect 5 is because the water fountains are placed far away from each other and don't work sometimes but other than that the park is a beautiful peaceful getaway just remember to bring water and watch out for bikes.
I love biking on this trail way. There are some critters that you can catch a glimpse of if you're lucky like wild boar, wild turkeys, deer, cats, dogs, squirrels, and peacocks. It's also challenging to bike and run as there are some decent inclines. You can also find some hidden paths in the wooded areas if you keep a look out. I've never had a problem with anyone suspicious, but be aware of your surroundings. The park police are patrolling the area until closing. Stay in view of other people if you can.
Best place to fish in San Antonio I've literally caught over 50 fish in a matter of 3 weeks and I'm really new... excellent views, great for the family to hang out. There is an officer with park police I think his name is Chris dude is super cool and friendly and truly helpful wish all cops were like him. If you have the chance bring your chair and just go sit super peaceful. Only thing google says the park closes at 11pm that is WRONG it closes at sunset !!
This is a park that I always go when my husband Hart family or friends or even just alone it's so calm and Serene when I've got things on my mind and I need to clear my head I love to go and just sit and watch the water flow and to see the kids playing people walking the dog it's very clean compared to what it used to be back in the day I'm very impressed by our city and county park workers It's a Wonderful Park to go to and enjoy
Great place to go fishing, biking, running, walking, picnic, cookouts. Usually it is not crowded at all, even on a beautiful breezy Saturday afternoon in October. Biking is easy because there are bikes you can rent for up to 60 minutes. Only thing is a bit contrasting is that the refinery behind the park, goes on full cylinders, you can hear the constant flaming tower of the refinery. So it is not as quite as you would expect.
Very amazing place to walk, see, and feel. The whole place is something to learn about, it's not just a park but it was an area that provided water to flow towards the other presidios. The parking is small but it's okay. Plenty of room. Good bike and walking trail and there is an education center nearby so everything is pretty much here. Watch for the weather and bring plenty of water. Texas weather is no joke.
I went here recently and lo and behold I see my wife which we are separated with with another man but it was just weird out of all the places you know trying to avoid our old stopping stops areas and there she is with another man. Fml i still love her and hopefully get her back of my arms soon I love you pumpkin butt if you're reading this
And lovely slow drive through the park. Picnic benches available for lunches or gatherings free of cost. There is water nearby to put your feet in, go fishing, or just enjoy the sites. There is often an ice cream truck parts nearby and many people enjoy riding bikes or going for a walk. Very nice Natural Area.
Love this park! Been coming here since people's been swimming in it lol. They have redesigned it beautifully from totally rebuilding the bridge upstream from the damn and upper level to adding piers along the river banks for some fishn'. Lots of picnic area for the family.
It should be a better place, but they need to do clean up at the river area, this is the reason why we have so many floods in the areas beneath the wooden bridges full of debris and garbage. Please make our park trails beautiful again. Thanks and Happy Holidays
Beautiful place to come visit. I brought there family along for a day adventure, we started out in the park then walked to Espada Dam & down to the aqueduct. Beautiful scenery, lots of wildlife and not that many people made an enjoyable and relaxing adventure.
To make the bridge standout going into Brooks City Base they should do it like W Hausman. Lights with different colors and a Welcome to Brooks City like the arch in Woodlawn Park. Give this a thumbs up if you'd like to see this on the Southside …
Looking for a place to fish with my son, and have finally come to realize that inner city fishing is no good. No place to fish and the places there are to fish, there are no fish. Sounds fishy to me. From now on, I'm sticking to the coast for fishing.
There are lots of great fishing spots also near a playground.
Playground
Good size, good distance from the river but not too far
Dog-friendliness
Yes, lots of dog owners walk there
Picnic area
Many spots around the river.
Espada park has grown so much it has bike trail walk trail they have a river you can go canoeing lots of picnic tables under trees shaded BBQ Pits bring the family out and enjoy a great time with your children the left ones safe environment
Espada Park on the Southside has gone thru some major improvements.Great park to try some fishing, bike riding, going for a walk or a jog, bbqing, picnic. Its more beautiful with it's new paved trails on both sides orale San Anto go get some.
Love the new additions to the park. The walking paths are great. The fishing areas are terrific. Love the atmosphere. The only issue would be the restroom area close to Military Dr and having to see the oil refinery next door.
This sights are nice, the restrooms are pretty clean, and the trails are peaceful. The river has a good current with some pretty views (good for kayaking,) but it smells a little fishy (I guess kind of dirty).
Really nice park. Well taken care off. Only issue there are some sketchy people hanging around. The truck next to us got its back window smashed, they didn't steal much. Maybe more park patrol would be nice.
I remember when I used to come here years before with my father and my siblings and now I come here with my grandchildren and my kids it's a nice place but I think it needs some swings for the young ones
Park water dirty and there worried about people enjoy the day having a code beer on ur day off ain't nothing wrong with that ....dam clean thee environment..wow just saw a snake in the grass
I GO WHEN I NEED TO EASE MY MIND AND GET THINGS OFF MY CHEAST TRY TO CALM BODY NERVES ECT.. AND WALK THE TRAILS AND SLOWLY THINK ALONG THE WAY AS I GO THROUGH THE WHOLE PATH WAY...
Amazing fishing spots... only was there at night right before it got dark me and my husband saw plenty of fish jumping out the water ... recommended as a family time
Great park. They need to add more benches so people can rest and enjoy how beautiful the park is. Also more trash can are needed. Some weeds need to be cleaned up.
A very beautiful Park I enjoy coming here everyday whether With my kids just riding my bike or reading a book also a very romantic place for a couple to spend time
They have some cool places to go. Love the bike ride as well as the scenery. What was so awesome to me is that they have some beautiful homes that's in the park.
Beautiful spot to walk the dogs, bike or just hang out! I went walking with family and my dogs and it was so nice and relaxing. Friendly and peaceful atmosphere.
Outdoor trails at its finest. Paved, wide and clean. Accommodates jogging, biking or just walking. Wonderful scenery and follows the San Antonio Mission Trail.
Nice spot but windyyyyyyyyyyyy if you have a baby like me he wouldn't enjoy it or like it otherwise it's nice and good for photography lovers and beginners
Nice park & nice fishing area. I never knew that park existed. Was driving down SE Military Dr when we spotted it. We've been 3 days in a row now.
There were syringes along banks of the river and picnic areas as much as parks personnel were around shame none of that stuff had been disposed of
My family and I frequent Espada park almost every day for a walk. It's not the prettiest park but it's close to home and we enjoy our time spent.
Nice walking ,biking, or jogging place pretty view. Picnic areas everywhere so easy to find a comfy spot for yourself to rest or have lunch.
I like this part Stables trails I usually go have lunch for dinner I need to take a kids when they were little now they're all grown up
Too many trees are growing, I don't believe it's going to help when we get a lot of rain. FLOOD. It is supposed to flow out of town.
The park was ok but it doesn't really have anything to offer for example there's no swings or anywhere for kids to enjoy them selfs
It's an interestimg park, very long trail, although recently the area seems neglected compared to the way it was several years ago.
It's a place of solitude a place where you can relax and enjoy life and what it has to offer, even if a tiny fish takes your worm
Good place to go for grilling or just plain fishing, I catch bass here all the time good park to just relax and enjoy the day.
Love it here. You can walk the trails, bike ride, fish, picnic, and let the kids play. Very nice and relaxing atmosphere.
I believe the time changed since park police ran everyone off at 8 saying the park was closing for the day Monday evening

Beautiful park, great for walks and picnics. Sunset or bike/ walk along the riverwalk to the Alamo!
Nice trails with picnic areas and it had old structures (renovated)that dates back in 17th century
I love coming here it's just peaceful and nice to see others outside either fishing or bike riding
It was an awesome experience to participate in such an important event to help clean our rivers.
Such a beautiful place to go take a walk, paint or ride your bike. Truly feel safe and relaxed.
Nice park to spend a beautiful Saturday or Sunday, fishing, jogging, bike riding or rollerblading.
Absolutely love this park, kids have fun walking or even riding on the trails super peaceful
Lots to do here. Biking, jogging, hiking, fishing, picnicking and birdwatching. Great views.
Compared to I was small, it's well designed with trail and more tables than just a river now
Beautiful park, fishing, trails, biking, excited to see the food garden they’re working on.
They're still in the midst of remodeling this park but once it is done it will be fantastic
This is a great spot to put some kayaks in and to kayak up and down the San Antonio River.
Its not what it used to be. This place is awesome now. Great time fishing with the kids.
It's been renovated and looks and feels safer. Had a great time with grandkids fishing.
My son and I love coming here in the evenings to relax and walk and he catches turtles.
Beautiful Day Tobe at the Park today. Alot of trash that needs To be picked up. …

Great family place, very clean, good for fishing, walking the trails or bbqs
The trails that are there now make for a great place to walk, jog or bike
Very good park overall. Fishing was fun although we only got a few bites
The city needs to clean that river. I don't know how fish survive in it.
One of the most beautiful parks to walk but so much trash in water sad
Nice little park with, historical Aquaduct. Well worth checking out
Very nice and peaceful walk through trails and go on an adventure
Great scenery and lots of hidden trails for the adventure seekers
Went to see the river how much it had risen from the heavy rain.
