Nightmare!!! After her first day of trying the daycare, our dog was given back to us scared, shaking and covered in mess and urine. Terrible first impression and a very poor business model. I brought my dog to daycare to play and run around, not to be in a kennel while she's there. When we showed up all the dogs were locked in kennels barking and the employee was on the opposite side of the building stocking shelves (as opposed to what is said in this review response, nobody was in the daycare side, the employee was on the back left hand side of the store) and we stood there for about 3 minutes listening to dogs freaking out before she acknowledged us. (For context our dogs is 3 years old and very well trained and attends numerous other dog daycares throughout the city with no issues) (Update: I told the employee we had recently moved, but our dog had also tried two other daycares since the move and was fine, we were counting on this one being great as its closest to our home but it was the last one we tried) (2nd update: we were called by the store and asked to take down this review. in the interest of honesty and transparency, it's staying up.)

I typically do not write reviews, but wanted to convey my concerns for the benefit of other new dog owners. I was referred to this groomer. My first experience was satisfactory. My second experience was below par. The groomer appeared overworked, rushed and stressed out. The attitude of the groomer demonstrated a disregard of any standard of quality. This was projected onto my dog, who was visibly anxious when I came to pick him up. I perceive these issues are the product of an excessive number of dogs that the groomers had on that day. This resulted in rushed service and is inconsistent with the representations of “quality over quantity” posted on their website. Another concern was when I came to pick him up, my clean and groomed dog was on the floor running around in the other dog’s groomed off hair that the floors were covered in. I have a puppy and found this groomers not to be a healthy or happy place for my dog.

Had a great experience here yesterday customer service wise and was excited to make this our new go to spot, our experience today (12/28) completely changed that opinion. Went in to purchase raw cat food yesterday (had our cat with us in store), the gal must have made a mistake and grabbed the dog variety instead of the feline and we didn't notice until this morning when I had already opened the bag to feed him. Went back in to get it exchanged and was told they can't do exchanges or refunds on products that were open, after spending $300 on vet bills the day before we didn't budget to throw $40 out the window or have to buy taurine to make the food edible for cats.

First time here after moving from the south. Came in when she was locking the door up. Girl let me in there and she told me to take the time I need to ask questions and time didn’t matter. She took me thru dog food and vitamin section. didn’t rush with me and was really nice. I got a lots of good advice and my questions got answered. Even wrote down info on card for me to remember because I have poor memory. .I couldn’t buy anything yet but will come back at end of month to buy the food and suppliment. Thank u for helping me and my doggy

This is a lovely little shop to get food and supplies for furry four-legged family members. They’re always helpful and accommodating. Our pup loves visiting this place to get her monthly supply of raw. Bree is super-stellar amazing and treated Dasha like a princess . We look forward to our next visit! PS - Her absolute favourite toy is her foamy frisbee from this shop. It’s super soft, yet very durable. I never would have known they existed had it not been for my very first visit to Especially for Pets

I’ve been taking my Chow chow for years to get groomed. He hates going to the groomers as he has some separation anxiety and doesn’t tolerate being kennelled. They always have looked after his needs and make him feel as comfortable as possible, even as far as letting him roam the grooming area to help relax him. Pricing is fair and he always looks amazing after his groom. I’m so sad that we have moved locations as now I am having a difficult time finding someone I trust! They even offered to give a referral for my chow

I was a frequent customer for over two years (day care, store and classes) but things have changed in the past year. I found that often coming in I feel unwanted or that I'm bothering them. The staff are cold and at some times even rude. I've also noticed that the number of dogs they take for daycare is greatly increased and I think your pup spends more time in the kennel. Every time I pickup my dog he badly needs to go outside too. I have recommended this place in the past but don't anymore.

I had bought puppy classes last year, and due to an emergency surgery for myself then a knee surgery for my dog we were unable to attend. In the year we had to move, I was very appreciative when they refunded me the money I paid for puppy classes. A lovely employee there helped find some supplements for Tiffany's limp. Since she began with Omega Dog and Joint Strong her appetite has returned and same with her playful demeanor. Thank you for you kindness and helpful information!!

Wonderful Staff and lots of great product to choose from. I would also recommend their daycare, Suzanne is great with the dogs (she is a talented trainer). Poppy my Standard Poodle loves to go : ), and I feel assured that she is well taken care of while at Especially For Pets. A big Thank you to you all!!

Very satisfied with my experience here, Bree was very helpful and knowledgeable about cats as I am a first time owner. She was very polite and answered all my questions and recommended high quality healthy products which were very reasonably priced. I will definitely come back for any of my cat needs.

The hours are perfect for those who work and the price is reasonable. I took my baby for a haircut and they did a good job on the body but I specifically told them not to touch the top of his head "just the beard"... I hate the face look now! I'm very frustrated.

Love supporting my local shops like this. Usually great customer service. Showed up a few mins before close and door was locked. Knocked on door and I got a wave from the inside but no service.. kind of a slap to the face. Had to take my business to Pet Value.

Excellent selection of top quality pet foods ended up buying raw lamb for my Chihuahua for the first time here and the kangaroo kibble which has really helped his food sensitivities to other brands great store I’ll be coming back

I went here to get stuff for my new cat, and the staff, Bree was very helpful. She explained a lot to me and helped me understand what I should be looking for in cat food and litter.

They are amazing with our 2 dogs, we take our purebred german Rottweiler and Cane Corso Italian Mastif for grooming, our dogs get so excited when we pull up , they love going there!

The grooming is very good, I just wish the prices were more consistent. It seems to go up every time we are in. The staff is friendly and we are happy they take on our doodle!
