I'm not exaggerating when I say this: to me, a single, mechanically-disinclined woman, Essy is one of the major perks of living in Nashville. I'd never realized how important having a good, trustworthy, and fair mechanic really is, but I do now. Not only does he know his stuff, but he's actually a really good guy. He doesn't take advantage of people or overcharge them just because he can get away with it. Think about that for a moment: he CAN lie to people about what's wrong with their car, he CAN overcharge them because everybody else does, but he chooses not to! How refreshing is THAT?! He has a really high standard of morality. He came recommended to me by several people, all unrelated, from totally different circles. Now that he's been my mechanic for a couple of years, I recommend him every chance I get. And everybody I've recommended him to has thanked me for one of the greatest gifts a car owner can have: an honest, reliable mechanic! He is, forever, on my list of things I am grateful for at Thanksgiving. Truly. Doesn't matter what you drive, doesn't even matter if you live an hour away, if you're lucky enough to have learned about the existence of Essy, you've found your new mechanic! Congratulations!

I went to essy for a catalyst converter replacement. I informed him of an oil leak and selected “oil leak” on the service sheet he had me fill out before services on my vehicle. I picked my car up and it broke down six hours later. & informing essy of this he stated “that’s not my problem” I asked him if we could figure out next steps, he stated to me, “that has nothing to do with him And it’ll cost me 2600 to fix my car.” I already paid this man 1600 the day I picked my car up. I got my car towed to the dealership to find out my car needs a whole new engine. If he would’ve checked the oil like I told him; I wouldn’t be in this position. I wouldn’t recommend his services to my worst enemy my. He also stated, “he has rent to pay” not sure how that statement helped either of us but it’s very unprofessional and unethical. He hung up on my face and won’t answer my calls. If someone have suggestions on how to handle this please advise. Thanks

I've used Essey Auto Service repeatedly for my Volvo S40 T5, and with each experience, I've been extremely pleased with the owner's customer service, his fair business practices, and his willingness to ensure quality work. My Volvo is now reaching high miles, and there have been some costly repairs that would have been exorbitant if completed elsewhere. I've had a timing belt replaced, an alternator and battery replacement, engine mounts replaced, a new fuel injector, oil sensors and PVC breather box replacement as well as new brakes / regular oil changes. Some of my repairs have taken more than one visit to fully correct, but Essey has always made it right. Essey is a kind and lovely man - and seems to be a very rare breed in the mechanic world. So grateful to support his small business operation.

I needed my side view mirror replaced after my brother accidentally backed into my car. I contacted Essy Auto during the week that they weren’t open and I still was responded to and was asked to come in or call the day they open back up. I came in the first day that they were open and he ordered the part, explained pricing, and was extremely transparent about that pricing. The part came in two days later, I brought my car in and they had it done in about an hour. It was the exact price he told me it would be. Very impressed with how efficient, friendly, and transparent the service was! This is not something I have ever experienced with other work on my car. Never been at the auto shop for such a short period of time. Will definitely be coming back for any future car needs!

I really regret that I never caught his name. I don’t believe it was Essy but his colleague instead. Via phone, both were very nice and polite. He told us to just tx him the address and he’d come to us to fix the problem. We were dealing with an ignition switch issue. He showed up and fixed it in about 4 minutes. Charged us only 100 bucks (and we got an additional car key) for a simpler fix when another auto company was prepared to charge us 300. He also said that if the simpler repair didn’t fix the issue that he’d replace the ignition switch and only charge us for the part. They seem to care and they seem refreshingly honest. Would definitely recommend and will use again when needed. Thank you again!

We had a lot of problems with our car and hesitated for months to get them fixed because of what it would cost. It got to the point that we couldn't wait any longer and decided to take our car to Essy's. He was so professional and kind. He qouted us very reasonably and fair. Got our car back and we're in shock at how smooth and amazing our car feels! Our car is a 2008 but it feels like I'm driving a brand new car. We also had our oil change light on and knew once we got our car back we would also need to pay for that service, but to our surprise he changed our oil FREE of charge and did an alignment. Talk about customer service. He definitely has our business for any future mechanical need.

Don’t not recommend. He has had my car since Monday picked it up Thursday and 2 hours later it wouldn’t start again. Had to get it towed back to the shop again. Which he did try and help me pay for not discount my next visit. I had to call him about my car. He told me I needed another part which I had to pay for. Brought it back and when I picked it up again the same exact thing happen, and he keeps saying it’s nothing he did. Oh yea he also isn’t helping get it towed back to Nashville after it cut off again. I’m getting everything taken off that he put on and a refund. DON’T GO TO THIS SHOP HE DOES NOT KNOW WHAT HE’S DOING NEITHER DOES HE CARE ABOUT THE CUSTOMER

THE BEST. I will never go anywhere else. Essy took care of my car two times that it broke down and always gave me a fair price and was honest with me about what was needed and what could wait. Me, not knowing a whole lot about cars, brought it in again because I was nervous something else was wrong. He explained to me that my problem was normal for an old car with a lot of miles like mine. He ran it through diagnostics anyway and did a few test drives and didn’t charge me a dollar for any of the tests. Any other car places I have been would charge 100 bucks just to run it through the computer. Very happy I found Essy!

I’ve had a couple of services done with Essy (some routine, some not) and he has been nothing but professional, kind, prompt, and honest/fair about pricing. I needed my front brake pads replaced, and was quoted $300+ at other shops, including dealerships. Essy charged me less than 1/3 of that. I recently had to get my oil changed/tires rotated and he only charged for the oil change. I was recommended to him through a good friend who has also used Essy for service as well, and they have had the same experience. Definitely will continue service with him and highly recommend him to others!

While visiting our daughter in Nashville, the AC in my wife's Nissan Murano went out around noon on a HOT Saturday. I called Essy Auto and asked if they could look at the car. The owner told me to bring it in and he immediately checked to find the problem. It would take about 4 hours to replace the compressor so I inquired if a rental car company was somewhere near. Essy helped me find transportation and we were on our way. He called me at 4 p.m. to say my car was ready. Great price, SUPERB service!!! I would give 10 stars if it were possible!! Thank you Essy!!

Mr. Essy and his crew are some of the most honest people you will come across. I have a 2008 Mercedes Benz S550. I have been to the Cool Springs dealership and I have been to places like Euro Fix. Euro Fix is better than dealership but no one will come close to honesty and price this crew offers. Their shop and their area may not be as impressive as Cool Springs or Franklin but they do better and absolutely more honest work than anyone out there. Feel free to judge for yourself. I have after having work done at all three places.

I have been a patron of Essy Auto Service for years and I will continue to be a faithful, loyal customer. Mr. Essy is an honest, great mechanic! Yesterday my car started smoking and the smell was pretty bad. I took it to him late in the day, he instantly knew what was wrong and had my car ready in about 40 minutes. That's not the best part though, not only was the price VERY reasonable but when I thanked him (almost in tears because I thought my car was ruined), he was humble and kind! I appreciate him & his employees deeply.

I've had my motor replaced by Essy, and he's a miracle worker. Did the full motor in a single day. That was almost 2 years ago, and haven't had any problems at all. He's done some odds and ends minor things as well, and he is the only mechanic that I've ever come across that will not rip you off. With his prices, I honestly don't see how he makes any profits. He won't try to upsale you either, and will never tell you something needs to be fixed, if it really doesn't. I'll never use another shop as long as he's in business!

ESSY IS THE MAN! I got referred to him by a friend and he went above and beyond my expectations.. he was so friendly and kept a huge smile on his face while giving us some of the lowest prices we've heard for our tire and axle problem. Most of all time was a big issue for us.. we left him our car over the weekend in order for him to order our part and first thing this Monday morning we woke up to a text saying our cr was finished. We are so pleased and will definitely be back to our now ONLY auto service guy!

After moving to Nashville over a year ago my daughter began having car trouble. Living 2+ hrs away , I couldn't do much to help her. That's where ESSY came in , these guys are literally a Godsend !! Said nothing was wrong with our car, but it turns out we had to replace quite a few parts when our check engine light came on later. Changed our spark plugs and when brought to a different mechanic he said they were the wrong plugs. Can't believe we got ripped off by them. This place is fine for oil changes and they are friendly which is why I didn't leave a 1 star rating. Do NOT go here for bigger car problems or if you don't know what's wrong with your car. Not very knowledgeable over there.

Visiting Nashville for the weekend from Atlanta and our car had some weird noises happening on the journey up here. Decided to get it looked at. Essy's was slammed but he decided to fit us in to help us out since we were from out of town. He took a look at our car and test drove it at no charge. Exceeded expectations. I used this company because of the reviews and I was not disappointed. They were professional, fast, and honest. They showed me what the problem was and explained what happened and what they were going to do to fix it. My car now runs great and the cost of repairs was less than what I expected. We've used Essy's Auto for a couple of years and he was quite good initially, however, it seems that he doesn't care about what he does any longer. Over charged ($2,000), didn't complete the work, had to go back over and over and over and over. We finally went to someone else who charged antother 2 grand and the issue is fixed. Not happy any longer, not going back. Good luck - you're going to need it.

First just saying God Bless Essy (owner). South side towing brought me here & within 10 minutes Essy said he could fix it !! I needed a new fuel pump. Simply amazing !! Nora at the front desk met us out in the lot as soon as we pulled in & very pleasant & helpful. I felt like I landed in a family repair shop. I took my Prius in to see if they could lift it and check for what I thought might be a coolant or oil leak. After quickly accomodating me Mr. Essy let me go underneath and I was satisfied everything looked alright. After asking what I owed him, he said "No Charge." Great way to earn a customer!
