I had the misfortune of visiting Europcar Dandenong recently to address an intermittent alarm issue with my car, and the experience was nothing short of a nightmare. To begin with, it took me a whopping 45 minutes to get to their location, which was a massive inconvenience in itself. Upon arriving, I was hopeful that Europcar Dandenong would provide a solution to my alarm problem. However, the outcome was far from satisfactory. After conducting their checks, they confidently informed me that the issue was fixed. Well, that was far from the truth! To my dismay, as soon as I hit the brakes after leaving their facility, the alarm started blaring again. It was not only infuriating but also made my car completely undrivable. The alarm sound was so annoying that it felt like my car had transformed into a rolling nightmare. I can't emphasize enough how distressing and embarrassing it was to have the alarm go off every time I touched the brakes. In a situation like this, a reputable service provider would have taken responsibility and immediately offered a resolution. However, Europcar Dandenong did nothing of the sort. They could have, at the very least, offered to replace my car with one that didn't have this maddening issue. But no, that would have required a level of customer service that seems far beyond their capability. Needless to say, I will never be going back to Europcar Dandenong again. Their incompetence in addressing my car's issue and their complete lack of concern for customer satisfaction have left me thoroughly disappointed and frustrated. I strongly advise anyone considering their services to think twice and look elsewhere for a more competent and customer-oriented car rental provider.
DO NOT HIRE A VEHICLE FROM HERE. Didn’t get my $500 bond back. I was given an unroadworthy truck which I was unaware of at the time of pickup. I was also told I was given a ‘new’ truck only to find it had 90,000kms on the clock. I only used the truck twice the day I hired it and the truck could barely reach 90kms an hour and the transmission was playing up the whole time I had it. I was told that someone cut the transmission hose on the truck I hired when it was in my possession. I asked for proof & previous vehicle service history and I’ve been flat out ignored by the manager Andrew every time I’ve called over the past 3 weeks. They also sent me an invoice for the supposed damage I did which was an additional $600 - which also had repairs for another truck in their fleet on it which I had nothing to do with. I have called over 20 times in the past month and still haven’t been provided any information. Furthermore, I was not informed that the rental car company location was prone to vandalism, which puts into question the safety and reliability of the vehicles available for rental. Do not trust ANYONE that works here. Wouldn’t usually write a review like this but without any updates over the past month I’m not happy at all. I strongly advise against renting from this company. The lack of transparency and disregard for customer satisfaction is unacceptable.
Last year I was majorly inconvenienced by Europcar and I also received terrible customer service both in person at this location as well as from their head office. I attempted to return the vehicle on the agreed upon date, but the depot was closed because it was a public holiday. Fair enough if they're closed on a public holiday, but that's the day they told me to return the vehicle! I drove home (so did the person who was going to drive me home) and then the next day I returned for my second attempt to drop off the vehicle. I had filled the tank the previous day, just before my first attempt to return the car, but I didn't top it up again for the second attempt. They refused to waive the exorbitant petrol fee and the staff were surprisingly rude. I left and contacted head office via email. I received an automated response saying I would receive a response within 10 business days. After 18 business days I hadn't heard anything, so I contacted them again. For the record, I was keeping an eye on my spam folder too. At one point I received an automated email requesting feedback... the nerve! I never heard from them.
Initially, it seemed the service was going to be as good as I experienced at the Clayton Europ car. This was not the case.I had to wait 20 minutes to get served. So I lost almost an hour in total for my rental before I started. I booked a large van and instead was told all I could have was a large truck which cost more. Bringing the truck back as we had a deadline of 4.00pm we filled it up at the local servo. It was filled till the pump stopped it. We returned the keys to the counter. Another assistant went to check the truck and came back to tell me the tank was at least 20litres low on fuel. I showed the receipt. With out any come back for us or proof, I was simply told they know it was low and by how much. This despite the gauge showing past full on the dash. As it was now past 4pm. I wasn't allowed to go back to the servo to check if I could put more into it. Instead I had to pay $4.00 a litre x 20 litres on their say so. A total rip off from start to finish. Donot go here!! Go to the Clayton branch. They are not highway thrives.
worst customer service I’ve ever experienced! i booked a car, on Saturday night to be picked up on Sunday at 12pm. As I google the address, I find that they close at 12pm, which didn’t say on my email that I had received. I call, and the bloke laughs at me when I say “why wasn’t I contacted to say that you close at 12pm”…. “we get 50 bookings a day, you want me to call them all?” well, yeah if they are coming to get a car at the time you close! my dad spoke to the “manager” and he basically said that our booking was a request because they have no cars available. again, when was I getting told this? there was no care in the world from the manager, and basically told us that he was closing the gate at 12.05pm no matter what. we got the impression that it was our fault for booking on a third party website, and it was our fault that we didn’t know they closed at 12pm. as much as I needed a car, I’m somewhat glad they had nothing available because I really didn’t want them getting my money after that!
Not a great experience here. The reception area is run down, un inviting and needs some attention. I had to wait 20 minutes to be served as there was a customer ahead of me. That's ok, however I was told that there is another staff member out the back and to just walk down the side of the building outside and call out for them and they can come and help me. Surely it's not expected that the customer has to go and search for a staff member to serve them? My biggest issue is that I filled up the car with a full tank before returning it, only to be told on inspection that the tank wasn't full enough. I had to drive to the closest service station, put in 1.8 litres of petrol to fill it up and drive back. I understand that cars must be full when returned, but what was I supposed to do? Push it there? All up it took me over an hour just to return the car. I will be using a different company in the future. Very disappointed.
I had a car accident in August this year and my insurance company which will remain nameless offered a hire car though this Europcar. When I arrived to pick up the car the gentle man where very nice and walked though everything with me before driving off. Once my 2 weeks was up I needed to hire the car again I was serviced by the same guy who gave me the same deal I had though the insurance. Due to my mother passing away I went in to see the guys at Dandenong and asked to hire the car for another 2 weeks and they gave their condolences on the passing of my mum and I was able to hire the same car again. I would not hesitate in recommending Europcar Dandenong to anyone looking to hire a car ute or truck. Thank you Europcar Dandenong keep up the god work
STAY AWAY FROM EUROPCAR DANDENONG. They charged me without authorisation for a extra day when truck was parked there and keys given the next morning as they were closed. Every time it was okay but this time they changed their policy at 2.30pm and asked truck returned back at 5pm. Got threatened to be changed for extra day which they DID and even hung up the phone. Very unprofessional and will not be taking my business ever there again.
Exceptionally poor customer service seems to be the hallmark of this particular business. After organising to hire a vehicle for a number of weeks, the appalling rudeness and lack of consideration by the staff in this office has put me off ever dealing with them again. I have dealt with other Europcar offices on a number of occasions and all behaved professionally and courteously. Will never waste my time here again.
Hired a truck this morning, the service excellent. and experience very positive, the two guys there Pinto and Shafi, so helpful, nice, nothing to hard or too much When ever I would need a truck again, I'll be going there, Good and fair price as well Also, thanks to Andrew, originally I booked with Andrew over the phone after hours, a month ago, TOP SERVICE IF I COULD I WOULD GIVE YOU TEN FOR THE SERVICE thanks again
went to pickup the vehicle and booked online but the staff was very rude and tried to charge extra 15 $ on booking as online discount is not valid according to him.so we walked out and booked the vehicle from Alpha Car rental even with cheaper rate without any discount.this is the second time we had bad experience with Europ Car even though we been to europ car only two times
The people at Dandenong office of Europ car are nothing but a thieves the try to rip me off I hair the car from them when I was returning the car they pointed a finger at the scratch on the car which was there before me and and they try to get the money from me and I give them the middle finger I will never ever go back to them full stop

Just walked out from Dandenong store. I was phoned in a week ago to book a 8 seats car for family Easter holiday. I went to pick the car today but the staff just told me no booking found. I don’t have the car and it is no way I can get a 8 seats car now. Poor. I can’t imagine how disappointed my kids will be.
The people here have really good customer service and were very helpful. I got screwed over by europcar it was noting to do with this branch it was europcars stupid online system booking me a vehicle they never had. I would give europcar no stars but this branch and the people who work here get 5 stars.
Terrible experience. Had booked a car a few weeks in advance, and even received a confirmation email a couple of days before the pickup date. However, when we showed up to pick up the car, the office turned out to be closed the entire day. Had to use bus and taxis instead. Extremely unprofessional.
They rip people off for refuelling. I filled the car full tank and travelled about 11 km to return it. They offered me to refill. But I approved them to charge for refuelling, cause I thought they will charge for just 1 litre. But when when I checked the refund, it’s $22. About like 10 litres.
Staff were unhelpful bordering on rude. Had trouble filling the tank fully and they charged me $40 when it would have needed $5 to fill it up. They advised I could drop the keys off the next afternoon then called me in the morning asking me to return them asap. I will not be using them again.
I could be nitpicking here but the issues i faced were. One mirror was semi-broken. Then, when i filled up the diesel to return, the guys told me that it wasnt full and that it needed to be overflowing from the tank to be full, which would have been useful to know when i picked it up.
Excellent service from the team at Dandenong, easy courteous and rapid transaction from pick up to return very competitive pricing and a generous amount of vehicles to choose from. Leased a few times at this outlet and will return if and when the time arises.
Sent by my insurance company. No hassles - all taken care of. Loan car similar to mine, so easy to adjust to driving it. Had a small glitch, went straight to the shop and they fixed it straight up. Stress and hassle free - what you want after an accident

I had very bad experience with this people all I can say is never hire the car from them if you do make sure you check every single dots on the car before you get it because at the end they will rip you up for the scratch or dot on the car that you didn't do

Amazing customer service even during a busy period. The man with the blonde hair was so helpful and patient with me even when I hada few questions and they were very busy. Would definitely recommend. Everyone here is so friendly and professional.
They dont have available vehicles as they show in the website,but they will allow you to book and wait 8hrs.they will cancel the booking after 8hrs.same thing happened 2 times dont trust this service they will let you down at the last minute.

They work at a snail’s pace. It takes over an hour to collect a truck from them. If you’re going there, make sure you go 2 hours early. And if you’re lucky enough to meet “Clinton” go 2 more hours early. Worst customer service.

Service was great, dropped car off a few hours late and wasn’t charged any extra. The SUV we hired ended up being a 2014 with 125,000kms on it, all though no issues with it, could do with updating.
Very helpful and supplied a good economical car and when the car was not required as long as first thought eurocar was more than happy to reimburse the money for the days not used also very polite

1 day rental but take into account the long journey of the vehicle you use !! They see the travel mailegge, if far then your deposit will be deducted.
