Unclean, poorly managed facility that compromises quality for profit. Yes, there are many amazing professionals that offer their services at Evolve, however, if you plan to work out, I would suggest you choose a different gym if you want a clean, properly equipped facility that does not compromise quality in order to receive a bit more money in their pockets at the end of the day. Evolve claims to be the best training facility in Edmonton with so various equipment to choose from, but what's the point if they don't clean their facility properly, replace overused/broken/faulty equipment and keep amenities in stock? The gym is extremely dirty all over the place. What about those nice and polished photos you see on their website, Facebook or Google you ask? Well, those were probably taken when they first opened, in 2014, four years ago; the hygiene standards have gone down since then. A better air filtration should be put in place since there's always dust all over the equipment and workers have to continuously wipe them down. The floors are always this dusty white colour due to the mix of dust and chalk around the gym. Although employees clean the facility regularly, Evolve never pays for professional cleaners to come in to fully disinfect/sterilize the place. All the weightlifting equipment never gets cleaned and the plate holders always have clumps of dust bunnies underneath. The lifting bars sometimes have blood on them that don’t get cleans; you’d just have to wipe it off yourself with the sanitizing wipes. And yes, that beautiful turf you see from the photos? I don’t think it has ever been cleaned, even once since it’s been used. Every time your hand touches it, you can feel how gross it is and it even shows when your hands start turning blackover, the one water fountain they have in the whole building definitely has a horrible filtration system; the water tastes horrible and smells weird every time. The small button to release water is also a pain in the ass to hold down for what seems to be too long; the spout is so tiny and only releases so much water at a time. As for broken equipment, theres a list of them. There are so many plates that are broken; plates either have chunks torn off of them or their metal centre falls out and you need to put it back together by hammering it in with a smaller plate. The platforms are all broken down; the wood on them is chipping so much that you need to always get a broom and sweep the wood chips away before every use. The platforms are also so dusty that after you sweep the wood chips, you need to get the mop to wipe down the surface. As if it couldn’t get worse, some platforms are uneven so the weights will always move around and sometimes roll off the platform. There was also a time where lead was leaking from a kettle bell (yes, lead, the highly toxic metal and strong poison) and the solution was just to gorilla tape the leak; I'm pretty sure the kettle bell is still used in the gym. I just don’t understand why they can’t replace these equipment even when they opened 2 new locations elsewhere. What is our membership money going towards? New swag that we also need to pay for? No thanks. In addition, the downstairs washrooms are never stocked with paper towels, no toilet paper or soap. One of the downstairs bathrooms also smells like fish all the time. In the change room (I can only speak for the Women’s change room), again, are never stocked with paper towels or soap. It’s also stupid how only selected stalls have a bin for sanitary napkins. Seriously, what the heck? So, in summary, choose a gym where the owner actually reinvests their money into the equipment and facility in order to keep it a healthy and clean place to workout. If you’d like to know, I’ve been going to Evolve for a little more than a year now and am now seriously contemplating on changing to a different gym due to this gigantic list of issues. If you have a different gym to recommend, please let me know. Edit: June 18 I created this account in order to remain anonymous and truthful in my review.

If you're a strength athlete in the Edmonton area, this is the gym you want to go to. There's nothing quite like it around. Just because it's the best we have, doesn't mean it doesn't need improvement. Evolve is near and dear to my heart and I wouldn't train anywhere else, but as a long term member there's a few sticky points that could use improvement, as listed below: -Evolve is full of impressive, expensive, competition standard equipment that is calibrated to international federation guidelines. But bros come in who don't seem to understand the importance of respecting said equipment. What ensues is 200kg+ deadlifts dropped from waist height, chipped and marred plates, calibration tokens falling out of plates, and hundred dollar locking collars with bent and broken handles. Athletes who actually compete in powerlifting and use this equipment in training and competition weep and die a little inside every time we see a bro approach the platform. -In the same vein, deadlift platforms had to be re-built and replaced way sooner than is reasonable from people dropping deadlifts rather than putting them down. For a while every deadlift day was a deficit day due to the dents in the platforms -The gym has at least 3-4, sometimes more combination racks as is used in competition in powerlifting. As well as another 5 typical hammer strength racks, 3 racks in a crossfit jungle gym, and another half dozen on the oly platforms. So it's really frustrating when powerlifting is your discipline, and all the racks are taken by football bros with touch and go bench, or people doing hip thrusters or overhead press. There's literally 20 other places in the gym for you to do that. -Group classes. Trainers take group classes which will take up be entire turf area, or spread across the gym leaving a whirlwind of discarded equipment and invaded personal space across the gym. How could these things be improved? I think a lot of it could be taken care of with a proper orientation for EVERY person who will be using the facility. An explanation of what equipment is there and why, and who would normally use it, and how much it costs (so they can understand why we don't want them to drop $900 worth of iron from waist height every time they deadlift). I'm guessing if you weren't a competing powerlifter or weightlifter, just a regular gym goer, you might not understand why there's 3 different types of racks and why you might choose one over the other. It would also do wonders if personal trainers were taught how to respect the space, and respect the space of other paying members who are trying to use the gym while trainers are training clients or groups. Teaching their clients to pick up after themselves, and not spread across the gym into everyone else's training space when it's not necessary would be nice. I'm very excited for the day when Jon can afford to expand into a larger facility for the south side. I'd love twice as much turf area, or really, a specific warmup/mobility/stretching area that doesn't get taken over by team training and group classes in peak times. All that being said, Evolve has been one of the best things to happen to Edmonton, finally giving strong a-holes somewhere to lift with proper equipment, no mirrors to be covered with spit, and no excessive amounts of dudebros clogging the atmosphere with Axe and Beats headphones :)

I've been coming to evolve south location for just about 3-4 months now, previously having gone to Full Force gym for a year or two. Compared to Full Force, Evolve much better fits my goals, interests, and needs. There are no mirrors at Evolve, which was a big change from what I had been used to, however I very quickly grew to love the lack of mirrors. Rather than focus on my appearance, or watching myself to see if my form is correct, I'm able to better feel for my form and actually rely more on bodily sensations to know when my form is on point or a bit off. It's been great for my mental well being, as I'm no longer comparing my body to other women in a negative way - sure, there are some strong women here at Evolve, but I'm less likely to feel jealous in the way I did at full Force likely due to the aesthetics focused nature of that gym versus the performance focus at Evolve. I also love that the music is quiet, which means it doesn't interfere with my own music, that the lighting is even and bright throughout rather than lit in an attempt to emphasize musculature, there are lots of racks and platforms and unless I come on the odd busy day I don't usually have to fight for equipment. People are friendly and the space is large enough for its purposes. The only things I'm less stoked on are the price for membership (eg a year in full now, with increases in overall membership, is only 55 less than paying month to month on a contract, which makes the payment in full not much of a better deal than just going month to month on a contract), the hours (im not usually using the gym late, but on weekends it would be nice to still be open until 10pm). Overall the gym has been a great change for me and has invigorated my enjoyment of working out by shifting my focus less towards my looks and more towards my performance. Would recommend to others but I do hope that they readjust their membership prices to better compete with other gyms (eg full Force year membership is under 500, most places will save you more than just one month of payment). Edit: there are a few other things regarding equipment, some of the pins for bench racks are bent which can make them harder to use easily when changing height of the bar, sometimes I have to go to the racks with rubber plates to supplement on bench as the non rubber plates near the bench racks have fewer weight increments, I do wish they had one or two more bench racks as they just got rid of an old one and some people use the bench racks to squat which takes away from benchers on busy days (I absolutely will not use those for squats unless I have no other choice) - yes these have safeties but perhaps if the gym encouraged squatters to learn how to bail out on squats fewer people would feel the need to use these spots for squats.

First started at evolve fitness as per my personal trainer who recommended we move to this gym. I have never been in a type of gym like this before, just the typical cheap gyms around town with all those machines and no chalk. The atmosphere of Evolve is great and I was surprised at the diversity of the crowd of people that works out here. The changing rooms/washrooms are always extremely clean and do not reek of B/O. I have come to really like this style of gym and do not think I could ever return to a typical non "warehouse/garage" style gym. If you are interested in coming to this gym and looking for a personal trainer I would highly recommend Chris Liddle. We have been training for close to a year now and when we first started I emphasized that my priorities training were injury prevention and aesthetics (lifting really heavy weight secondary), and he has tailored our sessions to build on this. Chris starts by building your foundation and tracks your progress, and reflecting on where I started a little under a year ago to today is incredible the progress we have made. Chris is also very receptive to busy schedules, there has been a couple times where I needed to reschedule within the last hour due to work and has been no issue. So if you are looking for an awesome trainer and warehouse/garage style gym definitely check out Chris Liddle at Evolve Strength!!

Great gym to workout at and great trainers as well from what we have seen. This review is more so on a trainer there, Aman Jaggi, but reflects the gym, it’s culture, and facilities as well. We have been training with Aman for the last three months and it has been an amazing step in our fitness journey. He is a gem of a person and trainer. Aman keeps our workouts interesting and exciting by always throwing new thing into the routine, while still keeping the core exercises part of the repertoire. He positively encourages us to push our limits to reach new levels of strength and conditioning. We have surprised ourselves with the progress we have made. Aman genuinely cares about our fitness and checks in outside of workout days to see how we are progressing. He also offers advice on eating healthy and how a proper diet can lead to better results in the gym. With Aman, we get someone who is there to listen, motivate, and provide valuable advice whenever needed. Going to the gym can seem hard but on our days training with Aman, we always make it out and it is something that we look forward to. The feeling of having pushed ourselves to our limits has had a positive impact in our lives. We are grateful to have Aman as our trainer and look forward to continuing to work out with him at Evolve.

Liz Macklon In January 2023 I made the decision that I needed to work with a personal trainer as I was having more and more difficulty just accomplishing activities of daily living such as being afraid of falling down when outside and not being able to get up, having trouble getting up from low chairs, going up stairs and having to use both feet on each step. I have now been working with Aman three times a week for seven weeks and have seen a vast improvement in many areas. My balance has improved greatly.I can walk further when shopping without my legs hurting and feeling weak. I can now stand up unassisted from a low gym bench. I have much more flexibility in my limb movements. I had a rotator cuff injury in my left shoulder over a year ago and had been having physio for most of that time. Since starting the gym exercise I have much more pain free movement and the arm is a lot stronger. Attending the gym has also provided much needed structure in my day. I always have an increased energy level after my hour with Aman at the gym. I have more confidence in what I can accomplish. Aman is a wonderful instructor. He is very knowledgeable and patient. He explains everything well as well as demonstrating the exercises with rationale for them and always ensures that I understand.

I have been going to Evolve for a few months now, and have nothing but good things to say. When I joined, I was just starting Olympic lifting, so while I am no stranger to gyms it was pretty daunting to train alone. The staff, OPF members and gym members were extremely welcoming and I made friends very quickly and felt at home instantly. The gym is so versatile and allows so many different types of training, which is important for me. It is a very unique gym and the set up is superb. I didn’t get a chance to try out the physio or other practitioners working there but constantly saw them working hands on with clients. As someone with a background working with practitioners and as a personal trainer it’s really good to see them bringing them to the gym for rehab work! The membership is quick and easy with no hidden fees or contracts and gives you access to all of their locations. I would recommend Evolve to anyone looking for a gym, new or veteran, sport specific or general health. The versatility and knowledge within the gym will surely set everyone up for success!

  • john smith

Good facility. Friendly staff. Coach Chris Liddle is a huge motivation for me to coming to this gym. He is the reason I workout and get healthier. Chris is very professional and motivated in your health as much as you. He is very focused during workouts. He does not spend time chitchatting or focus on anything other than workouts. He believes personal trainer is a premium service and he provides his services as such. You get what you hire him for. I really respect his discipline during workouts. He has a flexible schedule which helps a lot. I have been having good results while working out with him. Chris calibrates the workouts based on my strengths, weaknesses and health goals. Workouts are always fun with Chris. For me starting working out was very difficult habit to cultivate. Chris made it easier to instill a activity habits in daily routine. Chris is the best.

  • Kayla Gardiner

The facility itself is amazing, I trained here for a year or so. However there is ZERO protection for customers who purchase personal training from the trainers or coaches who rent space/train out of Evolve. Jeremy Bell was happy I paid in full for 12 weeks of programming plus speed sessions. He only delivered a fraction of what I paid for. I went to Manager of Evolve South, who talked to Jeremy. That resulted in a promise of 3 weeks free programming and the remaining 6 weeks plus speed sessions. He never delivered. I asked Jeremy Bell multiple times for a refund or to deliver programming. He said he couldn’t refund the amount equivalent of unfinished sessions and programming and promised to get my programming done. It’s been well over a year and I’m now out hundreds of dollars, meanwhile Jeremy continues to work with other clients.

I have been training here at Evolve South since the day it opened and there isn’t a finer gym in the city that gives you such a plethora of training opportunities. Whether that’s Olympic Weight Lifting/Powerlifting/General health or Specific Sports training. The staff are all very friendly and the trainers are class acts when it comes to there due diligence in your training as a client or simply by creating a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone that comes to work out here. I love the garage feeling that it gives off by being such a small location it makes it feel gritty and an old school type of atmosphere. So, if your new to training and want a new gym to try I applaud you to give Evolve South a try or any of its other locations: Downtown and North if your looking for a change of pace from your regular gym

  • Dee Navarro

This facility is undoubtedly the epitome of excellence when it comes to strength and conditioning. It is truly exceptional, specifically designed to cater to the needs of Olympic weightlifting and powerlifting enthusiasts. As a free weights gym, it provides a stimulating environment for you to customize and adapt your workouts accordingly. This aspect also serves as a means to push yourself and embrace the challenge of each day's workout regimen. Notably, the absence of mirrors within the facility cultivates a sense of heightened focus, allowing you to prioritize the refinement of your form rather than being preoccupied with self-observation.

  • Sean Holdner

A great little gym with good equipment options in great shape. I'm not their usual demographic, being more interested in cardio and resistance machines than straight lifting, but they have everything I need and were more than happy to help a gym beginner with any of my questions. Equipment and facilities are always clean and in good condition, and staff are very friendly and welcoming. No sales pressure, good prices, and they have options for those of us who aren't able to commit for a year at a time. I continue to recommend Evolve South to my friends in the area.

  • Todd Serediak

This isn't even good enough to be called gym It's more like a pigeon hole for people who love thrown away money yeah right gym heck millwoods rec center has more then this joint n it's twice as small n ten times better what a big joke gym my goodness bunch of nonsense this joint sucks duck eggs as far as it goss it's big joke as to what kind of gym equipment they little to noting to offer its like throwing away your bodies health n money both they aren't even more like a toilet The owner should be shamed of herself or himself to call this rubber house a gym

  • Olivia

I met with Leah from In To It Nutrition out of Evolve; I was mildly nervous, as I had been tracking my eating and wanted an outside perspective to the best way to get healthy. Leah was very knowledgeable and kind; I loved her "all food can be good" approach. I am excited to start this journey and happy I made the leap! The only negative; the parking lot is awful - there is a notice once you're inside stating you must park in "evolve" parking between business hours, and there is only a handful of them. Plus people double park in the limited stalls there are.

  • Jamie Evanoff

Always so clean and their covid regulations are great and easy to accommodate without feeling overwhelmed.. when the gyms are open for public workouts. The staff is always friendly! And knows members by name and always strike up a conversation. The equipments is amazing clean and always in good shape. On the 2 years I’ve been going there I’ve never seen a piece of equipment out of order. Trainers always say hi or acknowledge you even if they don’t train you. I wouldn’t talk any higher about evolve. 10/10 always recommend to friends family and coworkers.

  • bphupka

Given Covid and my usual gym is still closed from the lockdown, I started looking at places open that weren't looking to lock me into a contract. I luckily found Evolve Strength, the no commitment or hidden fee's is a blessing. I contacted several other gyms and they all seemed to want to take advantage of people looking to get back into the gym. My only complaints is there is there is no gym in Sherwood park, or I would consider switching my membership. great vibe, friendly staff, and people serious about fitness.

  • Jimmy Ross

I met Chris Liddle at Cyclebar in Windermere. I wanted to get to know more about him before I inquired about him so I invited him to meet me for a coffee. He's come to my house to train with me once before but since then, I have come and hired him to train me several times at Evolve South. He's a great guy who just wants to do his best for the clients that hire him. I highly recommend him as he is knowledgeable, friendly, and can work with just about anyone. Thanks, Chris!!

  • Alxtm1

I have trained here since the gym opened in march of 2015. It has been amazing to watch the gym grow to what it is today! Going from just a few squat racks and dusty platforms to one of the most diverse strength training facilities available. The environment and atmosphere of the gym is very friendly and welcomes lifters from all backgrounds. From power lifting to Olympic lifting to just general fitness there is no place better to go than here!

  • Sean Langford

I've been working out for nearly 30 years and this is my absolute favourite gym. The layout, the equipment, the staff, the trainers, the atmosphere...everything about this place is top shelf, regardless of your experience level. I actually have a well-setup home gym and I still try to go to Evolve once a week because of the variety and extra value it brings to my training. If I could build the perfect gym, it would look like Evolve.

  • Nicholas Ward

A Olympic weightlifting, powerlifting and crossfit focused gym. The amount of gear here is staggering. If you are used to lifting in a commercial and serious about lifting you will fall in love the moment you walk in the door. Friendly staff and walk in only costs $10. May be slightly intimidating to a regular gym goer as you should know a little how to use some of the equipment but I'm sure someone would be willing to help you out.

  • Cheng Xu

If you're looking for specialised fitness training, Evolve is the last facility you'll ever need. From Olympic Weightlifting to powerlifting, strongman to endurance training, Evolve is the best one stop shop in Edmonton. In addition, the variety of services offered such as chiropractic, physiotherapy, and acupuncture makes Evolve the oasis of fitness in this city. Any athlete or fitness enthusiast would be remiss to pass on Evolve.

  • Ruhee Kassam

Really enjoy coming to this gym. It's so clean, and tons of different equipment. The staff is super friendly. Chris Liddle is my personal trainer here, and he has been amazing. I really like how my sessions set me up for success for the following week when I go in by myself. He takes the time to listen to my goals and creates programs which will work for my, my lifestyle and the amount of time I have to spend at the gym her day.

  • Mike K

Overall this is a great facility. But disappointed at what I saw this morning 9:30 am - 11 am March 27. 11 ppl powerlifting together along with someone who appeared to be a coach , grouped in one corner of the gym , no distancing or wearing masks . I don’t want to be that guy but I’d like our gym to remain open and this kind of thing is just asking for another shutdown. Great place to train but safety needs to remain a priority.

  • Elissa Fulkerth

Best gym I have ever been to! Tons of equipment, great atmosphere and very friendly people. The staff here are all so helpful in answering any questions you may have. The trainers, massage therapists, chiropractor, physiotherapists, and acupuncturist, are all very knowledgeable. They all go out of their way to help out in any way they possibly can and get you feeling great or get you on the mend. This place has it all!

  • John Reda

A non-traditional warehouse style gym, with focus on Olympic and power lifting. A plethora of squat racks and excellent turf area are the highlights to me. Evolve is frequented by professional athletes as well. There are a number of physiotherapists, massage therapists, athletic consultants, and trainers. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Other patrons are always willing to share encouragement and pointers.

  • Kathleen Danser

I meet my trainer Andrew Coates here and workout an additional two times a week. This is as easy, organized and professional as it gets. Folks are here to workout, to train, to become more fit. This is not a pick up joint, this is the real deal. I love the vibe and it has the space and equipment to meet all my needs. Covid aware and safety protocols in place but not restrictive to members. No judgement.

  • Teasha Dee

Evolve is a very welcoming gym. It may not be huge, but it has most everything you need to meet your fitness goals. The facility is well kept, the bathrooms are always clean, the staff is excellent, and so are the members. The trainers are also excellent and worth every penny spent. Very highly recommended. Only thing I would want is the facility to open earlier, but you can't have everything.

  • kdawgmaster

Been going to Evolve now for 2 years and there is honestly not a bad thing i can say. The staff is professional, kind and always greets you with an amazing attitude. They also have tons of equipment ( mainly weight lifting ) which means you will find it hard not to have something available. I wantes to show my appreciation for this amazing gym given everything thats going on.

  • Ivan Mathew

I'm glad I found this gym, here I have the rough idea what I need to work on. I'm glad that I have Luke Bialobzyski as my trainer. Whole area is clean and hygienic, Staff and other trainers are professional and friendly, just say Hi or hello whether if its members or staff. Even the front desk checks on my performance and how am I catching up. 10/10 recommended.

  • Steven Ef

This gym is awesome! Very spacious, and staff are friendly. It’s a close community where people have a common goal, be fit and be strong. Everyone is very supportive wether you are a beginner, novice or god level, they will give you a hand when you need help! It doesn’t matter to me if i I drive 25 mins or 30 mins to get to this gym. This gym is awesome!

  • Matt Stasuk

Best gym in the city for strength training hands down. Matt Lee and the rest of the staff are incredible. This gym (and franchise) is a breath of fresh air compared to the saturated big box gyms that aren't very accommodating for people who want to train for weightlifting, powerlifting, CrossFit, strongman or non traditional forms of strength training.

  • CJ Baker

I have coached a client at two of the powerlifting meets at Evolve Strength and I must say that I am thoroughly impressed with the facility! There were a TON of platforms in the warm up area which is very important (and not always guaranteed at other venues). The quality of the equipment and the amount of space make this a 'real gym,' in my opinion!

  • Marilyn Gordon

Great new gym! Lots of equipment with a great range of targets, tons of space! Its great to also have the onsite health professionals (nutrition, massage, acupuncture, physio) available in one location. Friendly environment, great people- nice mix of athletic pros and those of us just trying to get into shape. Definitely recommend!

  • Brandon quach

Great environment. Great people. Great staff. Lots of toys and lots of fun. The full spectrum of healthcare professionals are immensely relieving in all aspects from rehabilitation, sore hips to simply that nasty knot in your back! The perfect place to better yourself not only physically, but mentally to become the best YOU

  • Judyta 888

Im from Toronto and I just visited a good friend who is the GM of a commericial gym in Edmonton and I'm not a fan of training at commercial gyms. He suggested we train here. WOoooW! Love the warehouse vibe and the hardcore ambience. Really dope gym that has everything you need for strength and conditioning. Thank you!

  • Michael Zeeman

Outstanding facility - Well maintained, clean, and friendly. There is always plenty of high-demand equipment (I.e., benches, squat racks, etc) so you rarely need to wait. This gym is also fantastic in that it has a large area for calisthenics and a track with sleds, tires, etc for alternate forms of cardio.

  • Sean Hessmann

Evolve Strength is my favourite gym, hands down. Everything you need, all in one place. Equipment is all top notch and in great shape. Staff is friendly, helpful, and always working to keep things super clean. Plus, their membership rates are more than reasonable (especially for this level of facility).

  • Yeg Gym Review

No contract, affordable rates, top of the line equipment, and most of the clientele is looking to work on athletic development. Really cool atmosphere. This is the original location, so the equipment is a lot less standardized (which just means there are more bar variations, etc. to choose from).

  • Dan

By far the best gym I have ever been to. This gym is seriously equipped with everything I could ever want for powerlifting. There are more weights than I could ever dream of lifting and lots of supportive people. If you're looking for a solid gym and lots of platforms, this is the place to go.

  • Laila Fyith

This gym is AMAZING!!! I train with Ivan and there's so much equipment for us to work with and the layout is really nice. I never get bored it's like a playground! Also, the cleanest gym I have ever been too which is my number 1 priority when choosing a gym to workout at. 10/10 recommend. :)

  • Catherine MacDonald

A very welcoming, accessible gym on the south side. My trainer Kim Kadatz is absolutely wonderful, and it looks like all of the trainers there are attentive. There is someone there for everyone. Staff are friendly, and prices are reasonable. Contacts aren't necessary to use the gym either.

  • Ray Z

Good gym. Tons of space, lifting platforms, racks, etc. Doesn’t have strongman equipment like the North location does but other than that, solid gym. As with other Evolve locations, you sometimes have to search the building for the person that’s supposed to be at the front desk.

  • jackson fisk

Update - This is a great gym and facility. From the owner, front-end staff, or trainers, the team goes out of their way to make you feel welcome. I have always seen trainers and patrons in masks during the current pandemic, and staff is constantly cleaning and disinfecting.

  • Wendigo Barbell

I have been training at the gym and can only say amazing things about the gym and staff! Front desk work their butts off to provide clean towels, clean equipment and service with a smile. The gym has all you’d ever need to explore and pursue your strength/fitness needs!

  • Tyler Beal

I joined Evovle 3 or so months ago because I did not want to join a big box gym. They have everything I could want and strong dedicated group of trainers and staff as well as members. Comfortable place to get my work outs in. Close to my office. It is perfect for me.

  • Ryan

Of all the commercial gyms I've had an opportunity to visit, I've never been to one with such an inclusive and wholesome community as Evolve South. That, combined with the excellent equipment available makes it an obvious choice for any serious fitness pursuits.

  • Satina McKimmie

Evolve is a very clean and welcoming gym on the south side. My trainer Chris Liddle is absolutely wonderful. He really listens to what my goals are and always sets me up for success. He is very friendly, knowledgeable and genuinely cares about your success.

  • Thomas Genereaux

I have been going to Evolve for years now and have never not had a great experience. They have tons of equipment (Powerlifting, Strongman, Bodybuilding), the people are friendly, there’s tons of athletes from different sports training. It has everything

  • hugues-martin Kalonji

Perfect place for any athletes in the city. Way better than any commercial gym and say cheaper than CrossFit gym. Even if you're new to weight lifting, they have a great group of trainer available to your service. Best gym in the city in my book.

  • Alexandria Bakken

I absolutely love this gym. The trainers are amazing. The facility is clean. The equipment is top notch and the atmosphere is super chill. I cancelled my GoodLife membership to go to evolve and it has been 100% worth it. Highly recommend.

  • Mannraj Pataria

South location is a very bare bones gym especially since they’re charging 33 biweekly now. Mostly free weights, few benches and the only machines being a leg extension, hamstring curl, and leg press. Great gym if you’re a powerlifter as

I've been coming here since the beginning and it is hands down the best facility with even better people. I've never felt more comfortable before and it accommodates people of all walks of life, and they got protein shakes on demand!

  • April Goodfellow

Best gym ever. Especially with reopening post Covid they’ve put in place all the requirements way quicker than most gyms. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Parking can be tricky sometimes but it’s downtown so what’s y’all expect.

  • Vernon Wong

Best gym in Edmonton! Tons of equipment for weightlifters, bodybuilders, powerlifters, and strongmen. Super accepting environment and the owner has a vast body of knowledge in all disciplines of the barbell. Great place to train!

  • Tyler Montgomery

One of my favourite places to train in Edmonton! The gym comes fully equipped with anything you need to train like a real athlete. Super friendly staff as well! The manager keeps the place running smoothly and comfortably!

Great gym! There wasn't any pressure to sign up, and I really like not having to sign a contract. Both the employees, and the members are friendly and great to be around. I couldn't recommend this gym more!

  • Amy Tuininga

My favorite gym in the city. Filled with people who take their training seriously, who aren't just there to do 3 sets of biceps and check themselves out! Cheap! Tons of equipment! Great value!!

  • Melinda Wang

  • Sean Malden

Great gym. Reception is friendly. Rates are transparent. Love the towel service and appreciate they've increased the size of the men's washroom. Parking can unfortunately be tricky.

  • Matthias Otto

This gym will ruin you for all other gyms. Aren't you sick of waiting for platforms or squat racks or are prohibited from using chalk for your lifts? It's time to switch to Evolve.

  • Celeste VonIdler

Best staff, affordable pricing, can’t beat the trainers, best environment, so motivating, everyone is so kind! A hole in the wall you may not have heard of, but I’ll never leave ❤️

  • Keeley Smith

This is an out of the way gym - quiet in the mornings which I like. Little older but serviceable bathrooms. Just enjoy the smaller community here and trainers Bailey and Lorelei:)

  • Lee W.

Disgusting gym. Everytime I've gone, some trainer or staff has asked me to go on a date. Creeping me, I even saw one in the mirror taking pics of me. If you're a girl, avoid!

Amazing facility, large open gym with high quality equipment. But the best part is the community of athletes that train there, supportive and friendly!

You'll pay to leave this place. 2 payments plus service charge for a gym I haven't been to in 6mths. Edit, management contacted me and waived all fees.
