I am in the process of moving cross country but don’t have a new house yet, so needed storage. After checking reviews and speaking to a few places, I chose this location. The manager, Brian, was very helpful on the phone, and, as I was trying to get everything in order while still working, I rented the unit over the phone. When I went in on a different day to pick up keys and start putting away my things, Brian was there again and was very helpful. He gave my friend and I a quick tour and showed us how the gate and elevator codes work. It felt really secure with the unique security codes which stop people from going on floors they don’t have a unit on. There was ample parking, although it is mid-month currently. Carts were good— clean, no squeaks, no wonky wheels. The inside of the elevators and buildings were squeaky clean. I will say, if you are sensitive to cleaning products, wear a mask in the elevator. It was a strong scent, but I did appreciate it, knowing it was deep cleaned and disinfected regularly. The floor we were on was also very clean but didn’t have the scent of cleaner. Unit was clean and well lit, no smell of dampness or even dust. So far, so good. I saw reviews about sudden price hikes, so I did ask about that prior to renting. Manager explained that they don’t make those choices at individual locations and I could expect a change in price in a year or so, if I kept the unit that long. I don’t plan to keep it that long though. I will update review if anything changes, but so far, both my friend and I were pleased.

Been a renter at multiple Extra Space Storages over the years and this location is by far my favorite. It's very secure, always clean and if there are any issues at all, one phone call to the front desk and the issue is solved in minutes. rental rates are fair and competitive and I am never fearful of my belongings being touched or someone which is by far the greatest aspect of this location. It's security is awesome. Every time I come, the worker on shift is always Brian. I'm assuming he's like the location manager or some type of solo managing Associate here since he's the only employee from what I can see. He is super chill, personable and dose a great job of answering any questions and going above and beyond if Im in need of a little assistance. When late on my monthly rent a few months ago, when he called to remind me of the past due rent, he was very respectful and spoke in a calm yet inquisitive tone that did not put me on edge or make me feel attacked or harassed. All in all, I highly suggest this location to anyone in the area who is in need of a easy, secure storage unit that will be a worry free experience from start to finish!

clean facility , safe, amenities ‍With a BIG BUTTTTT… They raised my rate $60+ within 3 months of renting without any heads up before it was a make it or break it timeline. I don’t get to my storage often and I really should have evaluated the worth of the price change and the need for the storage. If you move in on a promotion be prepared for them to raise your rate an astronomical rate within a short period of you being there Even with the perks of it, I would never recommend a business who financially operates this way or is so sneaky about the price increase. Do not expect a conversation The company will tell you it is out of their hands, the manager with do the same. When contacting other storage facilities they said they have never heard the rates rising that quick or high. Wasted too much money here Don’t get comfortable Find a better company They offered no remedy or remorse Oh well! I moved out!

I had a few units to choose from and Julie found the one closest to the elevator for me to help with convenience. Very clean lobby and office area as well. Great tour and she took the time to explain how the unit works so it was easy to understand. During the paperwork though she miss-informed me that the insurance was required and so I was billed for it. I believe it is an up-sell because it isn't required and I recall reading this on their website before signing up and this was confirmed with the company's national customer service agent. I simply had to provide my home owner's insurance declaration statement that shows coverage of storage unit property. It was a hiccup to get the billing corrected. I was also charged a "processing fee" of about $25, even with reserving it online, so be mindful of that. Thank you for the well maintained grounds, secure unit, and ultimately fixing the correction.

I was very much enjoying my experience with this facility until I got a rate hike of over 60%. It was claimed that my online special discount had a limited shelf life of 4 months - nothing on the website made any mention of that at the time of reserving nor was it mentioned by the site manager when I signed my contract. This seems like a wildly deceitful and underhand business practice and I shall certainly be taking my belongings to a less shady operator just as soon as I’m able. Also worth noting that the 1800 tel number gives you no option of speaking with a human, the mobile site has no additional contact info (including no email address) and the chat function claims to be “too busy”. Probably overrun with complaints. A company that does not welcome your contact is probably a company with whom it’s not worth doing business.

Everything about my experience with the Columbia Blvd Extra Space Storage was amazing. I reserved a unit online, and a few days later got friendly follow up call. When I came to the premises the first time I was impressed with how beautiful and clean it is. The staff was friendly, informative and so so helpful. The units are new and clean and it's nice and cool inside (writing this in July). PLUS, there's fantastic music playing inside. Creates a wonderful ambiance! The elevators are sizable and they even have a nice loading area with carts. Never knew I could be excited about a storage unit until I came here! Very happy to be their customer and would recommend to anyone. The combo of amazing facilities and a knowledgeable and friendly staff makes it a no brainer. This is the place to have a storage unit.

Terry was absolutely fantastic! She greeted us at the door with a smile and made the entire process smooth. She made friendly, effortless conversation and gave us all the details of the unit. When we came by the following day to add more items to our unit she recognized my boyfriend and I by name which made us feel special. She made us feel comfortable storing our items at this facility- there are many to choose from and I'm glad we decided on this location and getting the pleasure of having Terry help us. Great storage facility, highly recommend. Rented a 5x5 over the summer/fall and both move in and move out were seamless. There are 2 freight elevators, and the loading area is covered with gated entry. The entire place is climate controlled and I believe there are even bathrooms on each floor. Their online account management is great too. This is the nicest storage place I've ever used, I'll certainly be back if I need the space. Worth a higher price for the rental if you ask me. Be prepared for Extra Space Storage to raise your rent by nearly 100% after four months. When I asked specifically about this (after reading other reviews) before we signed the lease I was assured an increase of 20% or so was most likely. I also find it telling that your sent a link for a review ate the start of the lease and it is difficult to submit a rating after the rate hike. Later....just received a call from Ken who followed up with someone above him. They agreed to reduce the increase by about $25, which I appreciate.

For a storage facility, it’s clean! Sure, it’s new... but it’s clean, well lit, the old-timie music that’s through out the facility; lovely (yet slightly- horror movie creepy if you over think it). Crystal, absolutely delightful. Very friendly, incredibly helpful. She took my unique needs and found a brilliant solution. Thank you and WELL DONE, Crystal! The guys were super helpful in getting set up. My tour of the facility was comprehensive. They gave me three options for a space and helped me find the right one for my needs. They made it painless and easy and I was quick in and out of there when all was done. We had good conversation, they were knowledgeable about the insurance plans and making sure that my 80' Truck would be able to back into their bay doors for off loading. The space was super clean and well maintained and super conveniently located.

Overall the employee that we spoke to yesterday was the highlight of the experience, he came to us trying to find our unit and showed us were it was at this place of business but that's the sad part their only in it for the "business" aspect.. MONEY, MONEY, MONEY!! There should be some sort of returning customer discount. But again the guy that helped us was happy showing us cause he could hear me yelling "where the F*CK is this unit?!?" He made my night when he said that. ❤️

In the spring, I had to get a storage unit in a pinch. I was recommended by a friend to come to this location. Despite having never had a storage unit, Brian and his team helped me through the process. The introductory offer and reasonable monthly price made this location a great option. The facility is well kept and safe. A process I assumed was cumbersome, became easy and accessible. I have greatly enjoyed my experience with Extra Space Storage as well as with Brian and his team.

As I was looking for a storage facility I came upon Extra Space Storage and it looked newer and well-kept. I called to inquire about spaces and the woman who helped me was incredibly friendly and supportive. I did everything over the phone and I was texted access codes to get into the space and they even threw in a lock which was waiting for me inside my space. The property is secure, there are cameras everywhere and everything is spotless so I feel good about this location.

Brian (the manager at the Columbia location) has truly been a pleasure to work with. I had a move from Seattle to Portland that became a little crazy, and he went far above and beyond in helping me rent two units (including 1 last minute and that involved some shuffling due to computer difficulties on my end) to make it all work. The units are clean and easy to get to, and I highly recommend this location because of the excellent customer service.

Professional & Efficient I had Margarita take me on a tour and discuss all the different options and payments. She was great & clarified any questions or details I was curious about. I had to have 24hr access and make sure that the unit was heated for the materials I am storing their. I would recommend this business to anyone, especially small business owners whom need to store materials & goods. They have great rates and even better service.

Went there expecting the usual storage rental routine and was pleasantly surprised to find an immaculately clean and modern facility with top notch staff. Dave was quick and knowledgeable regarding all of my questions. For a guy filling in he sure made me feel as if this was his own storage space which is exactly what you want when you're putting your valued assets into a temporary location. Me and my grandma came in and even though she was the only o e here for that day and despite having numerous clients that day she treated everyone with respect and great manners. Very satisfied!!! I was in a rush when coming to open my unit. Margarita got me in and out very quickly! She answered all my questions. I than needed to downgrade a few days later because I realized I didn’t need such a big unit. Came in and it was a quick and easy process. I was able to get a smaller unit the same day! Staff very friendly. I feel safe coming here as well as storing my things here!

Extra Space is one of the most reasonably priced options for storage. The facility is clean and safe with very easy access and rolling carts provided for convenience. For the most part, I received timely reminders of payments coming due, however in the final two months of rental the reminders stopped coming and I had to pay late fees. That is the only reason for giving 4 stars rather than 5.

I’ve had a medium sized storage unit for about a year and a half. Recently it became necessary to move to a larger unit. The process couldn’t have been easier. We simply paid the pro- rated difference and moved our stuff. They even loaned us a second lock so we could secure both units while we were moving everything. Good facility, good prices, great people to work with.

I called to inquire about a rent increase that I was not notified about. The bureaucratic structure of this company might not be forthcoming or straightforward, but my interaction with Katie was fantastic. She addressed the situation with empathy and creative solutions. If you rent here you’ll get great customer service even if the headquarters throw you for a loop.

I needed a large space to store a conveyer belt dryer. I went to 3 storage unit facilities to make sure I would be able to get my machine into a large unit. I was able to move in easily, the facility was clean, and elevators were large enough for my machine to get in and out. I also like that the hours of entry are later than most of the other facilities I viewed.

Highly recommended. The place is so clean I asked if it had just opened, but it has been around for nearly two years. The rental process was simple and straightforward. Pablo, the agent who helped us, knew the property inside and out. He offered great advice about storing things properly and safely and easily answered our questions. I’m happy we found this place.

Changing my rating from 5 stars to 2 stars. Raised my rent almost $100 in the middle of the pandemic, right when my hours got cut at work and I was making less money. I understand a reasonable increase, but to raise it more than 50% is ludicrous. Why is it that new customers get amazing deals while loyal, established customers get screwed? Doesn’t make sense.

Brian was incredibly friendly and so helpful today getting us transferred into our new storage unit. He showed us our new unit, made sure it was appropriate for our needs and happily answered all of our questions. Really clean and secure, but the rent was too high for me. Otherwise, good. [Edit] the Elavator was down for a couple months my unit was on the 4th floor. No refund or anything. Really fun #sarcasm. Then when I went to move out only one elevator was working. Not impressed w/the maintenance. If you want an inconvenient, overpriced unit, this is for you.

I booked my unit online and was able to finalize my reservation with Kate. She was VERY helpful in getting the information she needed and explaining the contract with me. Gave some very helpful information on the process and how to access the unit. She also tried really hard to get me a more desirable unit so I wouldn’t get lost in the maze. Ha!!

Katie was super helpful and bubbly helping me get set up with a unit. It was nice to have such a good personality to talk to. We share the same birthday so that was fun too! Extra space has been convenient and helpful in the past and I expect them to be the same this time as well. If you call this location hopefully you get Katie!

Vaun was so great, he made everything quick, easy and efficient for me. I had my two small children with me and we were in and out before anyone could throw a tantrum. He was very nice and re located my storage to one that was closer which I could access easier. I would definitely recommend this storage place to others.
