This morning I arrived at this facility just after 8am. The posted opening time is 8am. At 9am no one had arrived to open up so I called the 888 number and they were very apologetic but clearly they weren't alerted that the facility was not open. The person opening showed up at 9:15, 45 minutes after I was scheduled to be elsewhere. I moved out immediately, which is not what I was expecting to do. To say that I was inconvenienced would be an understatement but what really was annoying was the defensive and combative attitude of the staff person that I spoke to cancel. She told me about how there was an emergency, but my keeping 50 people waiting seemed like a bigger emergency to me. I only stored items in a locker that I use for presentations nearby, but this cost me hundreds of dollars and a whole lot of problems going forward. Also the "bargold" offer on the website was not honored. A company this big and highly automated should get an alert if the facility doesn't open on time and certainly if it opens 75 minutes late.

Moving can and is stressful. Thank You Extra Storage for taking the weight of my shoulders. I am moving to NYC from out of state. I was not aware that finding a right storage will be as hard as finding an apartment. After visiting few storage rental places I acquired only confusion and more questions but the unit itself.., until I checked this Xtra Storage Location (465 W156th St). Juan was patient and took time answering all my questions, English is my second language and I do have a challenge understanding professional terms - he made sure to take time and make me comfortable navigating all the ins and outs of the whole process: he showed me multiple units , and we explored few options since I wasn’t even sure the size that I need; explained me insurance aspect as well process to move in. Thanks to him my stress fulfilled and time consuming process finding the right storage unit is over. Thank You !

I just got notice I have to vacate my current storage place in two months due to them closing. I went online and found Extra Space Storage, and they had a facility 9 blocks from my residence. Quiet convenient. I then made a blind reservation online because the prices are very good, a lot lower than where I'm at now. I showed up with one bag to check out the space, and I was pleasantly surprised. The facility is very pleasant, very secure, clean and well run. Diandra helped me on my move-in day, and she was warm and welcoming. She took the time out to bring me to my locker personally, and that showed me they care about their clients. My locker is pretty spacious. I would definitely recommend this place to all my friends!

The whole process was super easy and check in was a breeze. When I arrived I worked with Jarred at the front desk. Online makes it a little difficult to gage the actual size of the unit and I ended up having to switch mine with the help of Jarred. He was able to find a unit that fit my needs and made it super easy to switch. He was great! The only issue I had was with the loading dock area. It is a slanted driveway so if you are trying to load things on a cart by yourself it can be quite difficult because the cart will start rolling down the hill as you are trying to open the door with your code. But other than that great experience!

This location has wonderful staff who are always very helpful. I have had a unit here for 2 years now. Extra space storage itself has 9-12 month increases in their contracts, so expect to not pay the same rate forever. They do update you when your rate will increase - usually about $8-12. Overall very conveniently located within walking distance of my apartment and they 24 hour access to the unit using a personal PIN code at the door is super convenient. be aware that some units in this building are second level/ need to use a step ladder to get into. The building has wheeled-step stools on each floor.

I had an absolutely fantastic experience at this storage facility! The customer service was truly outstanding. Lee welcomed me with a warm and friendly demeanor, patiently addressing all of my inquiries with clarity and precision. Then, Dailyn stepped in, and her assistance was equally exceptional. She took the time to give me a thorough tour of the facility, explaining every detail with great care. Ultimately, I ended up renting a storage space, and I couldn't be happier with the service I received. Kudos to Lee and Dailyn for making this process so smooth and enjoyable!

Wow - I have been pleasantly surprised at the high level of customer service from Extra Space Storage. Jarred went above and beyond to help me transfer units. He was really knowledgeable about everything relating to my move, which made it less stressful for me. His colleagues were wonderful as well and helped me really quickly with things relating to my contract and unit. They were so fun and pleasant to work with as well. The facility is easy to access and and a great choice for anyone wanting to rent storage in NYC on the island. Highly recommend!

I’m so glad to Jarred who’s helping to update my storage unit. I’ve been in this storage unit since Apr 2019. But this couple months my acct was being delinquent because I was out of the country and I was worried that my unit would be in auction because it’s all my important documents was store to my unit, but Jarred was very helpful to find ways that my storage would not be in trouble and now everything is ok and updated and hope it will be back to up to date… Shout to the people here in Extra Space Storage in w 150th St. St. Nicholas

The national number customer service gave us some incorrect information but when we came to the location itself, Jarred was very helpful and troubleshooted the problem. Definitely recommend coming in vs calling the main number. The place is fine. Nothing amazing. We were given different information about the mover credit than what actually turned out to be the case. Get things in writing.

Extra Space at 150th St in NYC is a pristine, modern storage facility that has all the security bells and whistles, without feeling industrial, institutional or impersonal. So the 800 number I called completely messed up and rented me the wrong size unit although I gave VERY SPECIFIC measurements of what I was storing. Thank goodness the manager on-site (Diandra was a God's sent) helped me find a unit to fit my needs on the day of move in.
