A Truly Disappointing Dining Experience My visit to this restaurant yesterday was incredibly disappointing. Our waiter, Dominico, was not only unprofessional but also seemed rather casual and unfriendly. We ordered beef tartare and asked for a recommendation for an additional starter. Dominico suggested focaccia, mentioning that it came with truffles. We assumed the cost of truffle topping for the focaccia would be reasonable, so we went with it. However, to our surprise, both dishes arrived with truffles that we never ordered. During the meal, Dominico recommended a fish dish, and when we inquired about the price, he revealed it was an astonishing 75 euros, significantly higher than the other main dishes priced between 25 and 40 euros. To make matters worse, the bill included a 22 euro surcharge for the focaccia with truffle topping, which was never communicated to us. When we questioned the bill, Dominico responded unapologetically, stating that we never asked about the price. This lack of transparency left us feeling like we were taken advantage of. The food at the restaurant was decent, but I strongly recommend avoiding the waiter named Dominico. His service was subpar and negatively impacted our dining experience.

We did a reservation 1 month ago and we really looked forward to eating at FIKO for the first time. But the experience was terrible. It started when we politely called the restaurant to inform them that we would be 15 min later (traffic was stuck due to a festival at the concertbuilding). The hostess said over the phone that it would mean that we will have less time for diner because the restaurant is ‘ fully booked’. As a guest she didn’t gave me comfort but instead she basically told me to hurry.. The welcome was not warm and kind from the staff as you would expect from a restaurant. The staff seemed to be in a hurry, because in 1 2 3 minutes we were asked if we were ready to order. We placed the order and within the next 5 min all the food was already on the table. We finished our food very quickly and within 30 min we were outside because we could not relax in the restaurant. For a restaurant that pretends to be Italian, you have an awful lot to learn on slow dining and hospitality. Definitely overpriced and overrated.

Cheesecake with Nutella and Pistachio

Ik ben 3 dagen later nog steeds aan het nagenieten! Niet alleen het eten was voortreffelijk, maar ook de service en dat heb ik echt in tijden niet gezien in Amsterdam. Ik kom zelf uit de hotellerie en heb Hotelmanagement gestudeerd, waar je nog leert over echte gastvrijheid en etiquette, maar op 99% van de plekken waar je komt in de horeca bestaat dit niet meer. Maar hier wel. Gastheren- en vrouwen die duidelijk passie hebben voor het vak en dat maakt de ervaring zoveel beter. Zo attent, galant, kundig, aandacht op de goede momenten, glaasje cava van het huis bij aankomst omdat we ons jubileum vierde. En ja het eten... pff! Mijn vriend en ik hebben het er nu nog over (en hij heeft 8 jaar in Italië gewoond, dus dat zegt iets). Ongelofelijk heerlijk, ze hebben er twee vaste gasten bij sinds zondag.

An overall very positive experience. The service was excellent and our waitress was also willing to put candles on the dessert for my friend’s birthday occasion. They were constantly checking up on us to see if everything was okay. In terms of the food, there is a wide selection on the menu. Of course I had to tried the viral “tartufiko” and although I found it tasty, I feel like it could use a little bit more truffle and a larger portion for the price charged. The starters were also amazing (we tried the Parma & Focaccia) and we left the place very contempt. Furthermore, my friend has allergies and the waitress was extremely eager to ask the kitchen regarding ingredients used. She did that before even bringing us the dessert catalogue, which I found very thoughtful.

Hartelijk ontvangen door de gastvrouw en met de muziek van Frank Sinatra op de achtergrond is de sfeer gelijk al gezet, lekkere bellini’s besteld en een heerlijk flesje rode wijn kleine kaart maar genoeg om uit te kiezen, we hebben verschillende voorgerechten besteld om samen te delen.Tevens het zelfde gedaan met de hoofdgerechten, heerlijk de pasta me de truffel alleen jammer dat sommige gerechten echt heel klein zijn dus vandaar de 3 sterren het is, naar wat je krijgt echt overpriced! 4 euro voor een cola en 14!euro voor een vitello tonnato die net in je handpalm past! Al met al leuk om daar een keer geweest te zijn.

Een super gezellig Italiaans restaurant. We hadden van tevoren gereserveerd en dat is maar goed ook want alle tafels waren bezet. De bediening was echt heel goed. Eén ober die zijn vak verstond. Hij hield alles goed in de gaten zonder dat je het gevoel had dat het opdringerig werd. Ook het eten was echt smaakvol en mooi. Wij aten onder andere: CARPACCIO DI ANGUS CARBONARA DIAVOLETTA Dit restaurant is echt een aanrader.

I was ona a date in this place. And the atmosphere is really good, but it seems like there is such a little space. The food was good, I ordered pasta with truffle and I was content, but the pizza was burnt and it didn't taste as good as it could be. The worst part was that the staff paid no attention to us. We had to wait a long time to get the check and it took forever to receive the order. What a shame, but overall it was okey.

I had a special dining experience at this restaurant! I celebrated my 18th birthday here and was thoroughly impressed by the warm and welcoming staff. They went above and beyond to ensure that my evening was special. The quality of the food was outstanding, and the price was reasonable. We went to Fiko for our anniversary dinner and are very happy with our selection. We shared a vitello tonnato, truffle pasta, pizza and tiramisu. Everything tasted very well and fresh. The truffle pasta was amazing, we will definitely come back for that one. The pizza was average, so if you are between pasta and pizza definitely try the pasta. The staff is very friendly and the ambience is magical.

The flavors were all pretty good! The pizza crust was nice, thin and crispy! And the lobster pasta was quite tasty. But everything was too salty for my preference. And the cocktails were way too sour. In my opinion all the flavors were just too much. Also the service was not bad, but also not great. After our meal they didn’t even ask how everything was.. I had high hopes for them. Overall it’s nice for once, but would not go again.

Ik mocht hier de beste ragu eten in jaren! De ragu zou 8 uur gegaard hebben, wel... Ik kan het geloven, zo'n diepte heb ik lang niet meer geproefd in een gerecht! De pasta met truffel en champignons smaakte wel wat vlak af maar was wel lekker vers. Als dessert was onze keuze spijtig genoeg niet meer te verkrijgen maar het aangeboden alternatief kon ons zeker bekoren: een heerlijke cheesecake met chocolade en pistache en een tiramisu. Gezellig kader en aandacht voor detail.

Eerste keer dat ik een review achterlaat bij een restaurant, normaal gesproken vinden we alles wel lekker maar dit ging nergens over. Gisteren hier geweest en we vonden het eten weinig smaak hebben. Met zout of peper kon je het ook niet echt op smaak brengen en het pizza was te nat geworden door al dat saus burrata iets. Het is dat we trek hadden.. We hadden beter verwacht dan dit, helaas viel het ons zwaar tegen.

Really nice restaurant with really tasty food. We had a moscow mule which was very standard yet refreshing. We started with focaccia and parma and it was delicious (especially the focaccia). For mains we ordered the ragu and carbonara pastas. The serving sizes were very abundant. We concluded with a tiramisu thats was very creamy. Overall, I would definitely recommend!

Mooie restaurant, fijne verlichting, de ambiance is in ieder geval erg goed. De voorgerechten waren lekker, had er meer van verwacht maar het was prima. Hoofdgerecht, biefstuk in rode wijnsaus, en tiramisu waren geweldig. Vergeten foto’s van te nemen omdat t er zo aantrekkelijk uitzag haha. Ik zou het iig aanraden om hier een xtje te eten!

Heerlijke kaart, goede prijs-kwaliteit op het eten maar belachelijke prijzen voor de drankjes. Goede manier om klanten te lokken met de menukaart maar slecht om vervolgens met drankjes en dessert alsnog op een absurde couvertpijs te komen. Personeel overigens zeer vriendelijk.

We had a nice dinner here, fresh focaccia with olive tapenade and olive oil was delicious. The pastas were nice but not outstanding, cacio e pepe came with rigatoni which was a shame but it tasted good. Lobster pasta was nice but again not outstanding. Staff were friendly and helpful. Not the best Italian out there but a nice spot.

Was really tasty and the service was on its top! We had Aperol Spritz which was really good ( it is rare to have a good one in Ams); pasta and pizza were also tasty. Would definitely recommend. Just one thing I would avoid is pistachio cheesecake, it is not a cheesecake that you are used to but might be for your taste

Really beautiful and modern Italian restaurant. I did not have table reservation, but got place from the bar. Quite good service and excellent food. I ate modern bruschetta as starter and scampisalad as main, both were very delicious. Also the prosecco they had was really good. Would definitely come here again.

Wonderful atmosphere! Lovely interiors, it’s so cool to watch the pizza being made right there the whole evening! Food was very good - best Italian I’ve had in Amsterdam! There were lots of options on the menu and the drinks were amazing! Especially for the price! It was a lovely evening, I highly recommend!

Loved this place! One of the best restaurants in Amsterdam, we discovered it on our last trip and went there several times during our stay. Great staff, very friendly and helpful and the decor is cool, especially the ‘Wall of Fame’. Will definitely visit again when we go back!

Per ongeluk zelf een fout gemaakt in de reservering (vergist in de dag) en hierdoor de aanbetaling van 30 euro kwijt omdat FIKO in de weekenden het geld dan niet teruggeeft. Zeer karige service dus, erg jammer! Geen aanrader.

The food is good but I expected more. It is a good Italian restaurante but no one of the best. The desserts are nice. We tried the cheesecake and highly recommended!

If you want half burnt, smeared all over the box , disfigured pizza then I highly recommend this place. The dough was as bad as it gets, beats dominos. Enjoy!
