We have been buying Cuban bread here since we moved to Tampa 1997 and we love it, but it has been about 1 year since we started not going any more because evertime we go we ask whom ever is there to please give us soft bread but they give us an ugly look and instead they give us the most toasted one. We've explain we abuelitos at home but it doesn't help. I feel that being customers since for 20 + years we would be appreciated but I guess not. I must say that there is one short spanish lady with short curly black hair who does show appreciation for our faithful purchases. She is very welcoming and always has a smile on her face for all the customers. Is sad for us to see there is little to no appreciation nor love for long time customers. This is the reason for the low score review. I wish I could write a 5 since it means alot to the city of Tampa and to our family. But sadly with poor customer service it is driving customers away even to places where the bread is not the same.
This place is a true treasure of taste in Tampa Bay. Outside is beautifully decorated for the holidays, and you already know when you walk inside it's going to smell amazing. The smell of fresh bread, and baked goods fill the air. When the sign said donuts I had no idea how many they'd have, and they all looked so delicious. I also decided to get two stuffed potato balls, well when I saw the size of one I still wasn't prepared for the weight of one alone this was truly the best stuffed potato I have ever had. So crunchy on the outside, soft steamy potato, and spicy beef inside. So much filling it blew my mind. It was a really filling breakfast honestly, I almost had no room for the donut lol. This place is definitely worth coming in and getting yourself anything they sell. You won't regret it.
All Cuban sandwiches, or any sandwich should begin with authentic Cuban bread from Mauricio Faedo's Bakery! I've been picking up bread from this Seminole Heights establishment for decades. The whole loaf sometimes does not make it all the way home but a few thousand bread crumbs in the car are warranted. Bread makes a good gift, too! Stop in when the "Hot Bread Now" sign is lit up in the window, buy a loaf, then rush over to the post office and bend the bread (palm leaf and all) into a USPS box and overnight it to a friend. This used to work very well when the post office was right next door but still worth every penny to those folks who have tasted the bread but do not live in Tampa. Hot bread now. Yum!
That neon "Hot Bread Now" sign in the window still brings great joy when I see it lit. Years ago, we lived a couple of miles away from Faedo's Bakery, and stopped by here for Cuban bread a couple of times a week at least. And now, we drive across town often for their Cuban bread, because it's that good. We usually get 2 or 3 loaves, and sometimes a few apple turnovers. I prefer to keep the bread in the paper wrapper for a couple of days before resorting to an airtight bag/container, but they do offer loaves in a plastic bag also. I think they're still cash-only but I forgot to check when we were there last week. Also, note their hours: closed on Saturday afternoon/night, but open late every other night.
The most fabulous pan de Cubano on earth. This place rocks! Open 24 hours, except Saturdays, they close at 3PM until Sunday morning. Cash only, but there is an ATM machine for your convenience. You can watch them make the bread and take it out of the oven if you are lucky enough to get there at the right moment and that time, my friends, varies as it's a constant process. If you are so fortunate to get there while the bread is baking, you'll be rewarded with absolute HEAVENLY Cuban bread straight from the oven! Doesn't even need butter. Better buy more than one loaf, because you'll be eating that hot loaf all the way home.
I called in a order for 5 loaves of Cuban bread and what time I needed them. I asked to pay and was told to pay when I picked them up. I was not told they would be closed at the time i need the bread or that they did not take orders over phone. Phone look up says open 24 hrs except Sunday. I messaged them and got a rude guy who kept telling me it was my fault and he can't believe I'm making such a big deal. If you don't let people order over phone and your going to be closed then tell me that. I went out of my way and through heavy Tampa traffic to go there, so yeah it's a big deal to me to be treated so badly.
Very good. Awesome Cuban bread. Ate it without anything on it. So fresh. Went to try the Donuts. They were good but there are no prices up. So I got 12 and it cost me about $15. Granted I got apple fritters, bear claws, cinnamon buns, one with nuts (which is why I came), and a few plain. They were good but I wish there were prices considering they are an only cash operation. But I would go again for the bread! My mom and aunt love Donuts and they said they are a little light on the cinnamon and the frosting is too sweet for them. Take that as you like. Some people like sweet.
I’ve been coming to this place since I was a kid thanks to my pops. One of the best bakeries to buy Cuban bread. The only thing I’m not a fan of is that they don’t accept debit/credit card payments however they do have an ATM in there. I love that bakery is open so you can see the ovens and the employees making the bread behind the counter. There’s something about that set up that makes it very authentic experience for the customer. I’ll continue to come here for my Cuban bread.
Cuban bread, rolls, eclairs, apple fritters, empanadas, well pretty much everything is freshly baked and incredibly delicious! The best anywhere in Tampa or surrounding area in fact!! I would say the lady up front could use to be a little more pleasant and act as though she actually likes her job. After all, she's serving baked goods to the public not diamonds to the rich and famous, good customer service mixed with a smile goes a long way!
First time ever going inside this bakery. It's huge, it's vintage, it's industrial and it's just so cool. Every present who was working where working hard but they were happy and proud of their work and contribution to the community. I spoke with the woman at the counter for a bit and she allowed me to record the environment and the space. In my adult life I felt like I was on a field trip and it was a cool experience.
Oh my god. The smell, the bread, the deviled crab. The guava pastry. This place is the best. This is a must stop in Tampa. I grew up eating deviled crab, this is the best I have ever had. Spicy and crunchy and the flavor of the dough. THE BEST. This place bought back memories & emotions for us. Growing up with bakery's like this and seeing one was very special. We will be back. Best breakfast in Tampa.
This bakery has the best Cuban bread that you can imagine! It costs like a lil more than other bakeries, but it's well worth it. At this place You'll get twice the bread and a lot more quality. I definitely recommend this bakery to everyone that wants the best bread around! Also this is a family owned and operated business and you're always greeted with a smile and good customer service.
I went to Michelle's new location and was very disappointed. I waited in line for 15 minutes and was told it would take up to 45 minutes to get a $9 dollar cuban sandwich. Joyce cuban sandwiches are not that far away. NO LINES NO WAITING. And they are better. FYI.....Please tell the short young lady behind the counter not to say that she has a bad attitude. People heard her.
Hot fresh Cuban bread in one of Tampas oldest neighborhoods - oof. So happy I was recommended here. I grew up in Miami with fresh Cuban bread at the cafeteria' but living in St Pete I don't often get to enjoy that authentic taste of fresh baked bread. Thank you for existing and thank you for bringing your skills to Tampa!
My aunt lives a few doors down, and every summer, as a kid, I was awakened early to the smell of the fresh bread baking. Its honestly the best bread I have ever tasted- I can eat it plain, but its best served with some coffee on the side. The staff was always friendly, and their pastries are so good- prices are cheap too!
Known this place for over a decade, before the family name change & they still make this wonderful AUTHENTIC Cuban bread! Can't beat the price $2.50 for a loaf. They also have lots of sweets. Cash only, though. They do have an ATM in there, but you'll get a surcharge so make sure you bring some dough for that dough …
One of the best Cuban bread bakeries in Tampa. I I always have to pull over when that "HOT" sign is on. And I couldn't forget a couple of of pastries. Reasonable pricing and fun for the kiddos to watch them pull the hot bread out of the oven. Carb Heaven! Only two customers allowed in at a time so. . covid-19 safe.
Simply the best authentic cuban bread I've ever had, for 2.50 a loaf! This place hasn't changed in years, and I hope it never does, last Sunday we went to the adjacent, quaint outdoor coffee Cafe, and browsed the antique shop next to that, then got a couple loaves which were still warm and smelled Amazing!
Bread done right!! The Cuban bread here will make you drool the second you walk into their store/bakery!! Can’t beat the price either. I stop here on my way home when the wife is cooking pork shoulder roast and any night we have Italian. Stop in say hello to a Tampa Staple & grab a couple loafs of bread!
Just went there today for the first time. I googled "best cuban bread in Tampa" and this came up. I was not disappointed. The smell of fresh baked cuban bread was awesome and it was still good and warm by the time I got home. Bread was so fresh that I think I over did it. My new place for cuban bread.
The best Cuban bread, hands down. Get it while it's hot and it will melt in your mouth. The loaves are like five feet long. If you want to make a REAL Cuban sandwich, you gotta have real Cuban bread. This is it. The real deal. While you are there, try the pastries. My favorite is guava!
They have the best Cuban crackers I've ever had! I get several bags of the crackers everytime I visit Tampa. I beg any of my friends who visit Tampa to buy me as many bags of their Cuban crackers as they can carry. I can't get Cuban crackers as good as theirs anywhere else.
Family owned and one of the great delights for us in the Tampa Bay Area. A lot of hard work and love goes into there hand made Cuban breads . Service with a smile, plus easy street access to their business . Stop by and treat yourselves,to daily baked bread.....
Google and their voicemail (when you call) says they are open 24 hours during the week. I showed up at 11:55pm on a Monday to place an order and doors were locked. The lady at the counter just looked away and turned around. Very tasty bread but poor service.
This place has been here forever, like since before I was born. I come in here for guava and cheese pastry to share with the family and some Cuban bread. Only complaints are that the bread goes hard too fast and the selection of stuff is so limited now day.
When you call says 24hrs a day drive 40 minutes there to be told they are closed and wont reopen til tomorrow they were only closed to the few people that walk up in order from their counter inside they were still making bread for all their
The Faedo Kids have done a truly great job to update and pick up the reigns of this business. I've bought my first loaf of Cuban bread from Mauricios about 15 years ago. I hadn't been in this area in the last 5 years and was blown away by
This has the absolute best Cuban bread in all of Tampa, maybe all of Florida. Authentic Cuban bread being baked 24 hours a day. It’s delicious and inexpensive. They also have pastry options that go great with the coffee sold next door.
Fantastic Cuban bread and pastries. Customer service is always prompt and friendly. Almost always open, and cash only but there’s an ATM if you are incapable of planning in advance. Such a great bakery. Glad it is in the neighborhood!
Wholesale bread baker. Not a sit down type of operation. Has small retail section in front. Cash only. There is a coffee that serves Cuban coffee in a nice shaded court yard next door. Buy a tasty desert and walk over for a coffee.
Superbowl Sunday. Empty except for a very tired lady baker and a few loaves awaiting pickup. I long loaf. The mother of all loaded loaves came home with me. The place smelled heavenly. 2.50 for a slice of heaven. I will return !
Place has been a landmark here in Tampa for forever it seems and I've always gotten my cuban bread here to make mini Cubans. They do pastries and finger foods also, stuffed potatoes, empanadas, doughnuts and guava pasteles.
Best Cuban bread ever. Born in Tampa and been getting our bread from Faedo family bakery since I was a kid. Long before the name change. Love their Cuban bread that we travel from Tallahassee to get our Cuban bread fix.
Don't give 5 stars because customers have to paid with cash only, even when store has an ATM on the place. The best Cuban bread in Tampa Bay, you can eat the hole loaf without nothing inside, so fresh and crispy
Came for the Cuban bread. It is the real deal. I've only been eating Cuban bread for sixty years. While we were there we saw some guava pastries. We had to try them. They were just as I remembered.
Awesome Cuban bread, best in town. If you go around 4:30 PM or early morning, bread is hot, would melt butter without toasting it. Amazing bread, $2.50 per loaf, which is like 3 feet long or more.
Every other Friday I go get me some yummy Cuban bread for my family...they also sale guava pastries and quesitos. They are really good.. Great service...the lady that works there is very clevered.
I went to Faedo's Bakery for the first time on Friday and bought a loaf of their garlic bread. My coworkers and I ate the whole thing within hours. It was amazing and I will be back soon!
This place is amazing. Prices are fair and the quality of the bread is phenomenal. Faedo's Bakery should be the only place to buy quality Cuban bread if you're willing to make the drive.
The best damn Cuban bread. They specialize in this and it's so good. No preservatives so you have to eat it fresh with butter or heated in the oven same day. But it's really excellent.
Everything is so fresh and very delicious! Everyone is so friendly too. One lady, I think her name is Monica, is very nice and very knowledgeable about the breads and pastries. A+
New owners and hours! Some of the best and freshest Cuban bread around. I do miss being able to stop early in the AM for bread and apple fritters before driving back to Miami.
Their baked goods are awesome, and the Cuban bread is the best. It is handmade everyday, and the people who work there are excellent employees who provide great service!
Always the best cuban bread. I grew up in Tampa. But have been living in Naples Florida since 2015. And still make the trip to Tampa every other week for cuban bread
The BEST Cuban bread in the Bay if not the state! Amazing pastries as well and open 24/7 for cravings. A must see and visit if you live anywhere near Tampa.
Great donuts and cuban bread. You might see your sandwich shop owner buying there bread if you go earlier enough. Cash only. But Great pastries.
Better than any Cuban bread I’ve had in Orlando. But sadly, not as good as the Miami Cuban bread I grew up on. Friendly service though!
Yummy bread and doughnuts. Not so sure the plastic bags are good for Cuban bread but it won't matter if you eat it as we did.
If you're not buying your Cuban bread from Faedo's, then are you really buying Cuban bread. It's the best in Tampa.
