The hotel has the potential to be so much better, this is not a 4-star resort. The main lobby is gorgeous, but it seems they blew the budget on the lobby and just forgot about the rooms and other amenities. For the prices they charge I would expect much better. Rooms are very tired and dirty, felt more like a side the road dingy motel room than a 4-star resort room. Room needed a deep clean, the carpet had so many stains, the lamp shade had what looked like food on it, there was mold and mildew on the grout in the shower, cleaners didn't even bother to throw a past guests hair tie out just left it hanging on the bathroom door. We checked the room service QR code the afternoon we checked in, and it was showing closed on Friday and Saturdays, and it wouldn't open until 3 pm on Sunday. So we thought ok we would try one of the restraunts. But we couldn't get in as they were fully booked, so nowhere in the hotel to eat dinner. We had to go to the golf club across the road. Luckily, the staff was amazing, and the food was great. When I asked the front desk the next day, they said oh there should be room service every day from 12-9. Spoke to another guest, and the QR code said closed for them, too. The only breakfast option they seem to have is a $34 per person buffet breakfast, and we are not big breakfast eaters, so we had to drive into the main part of town for breakfast. No option for room service or any restraunt to just order a light breakfast from. The indoor pool and hot tub area is nice, but the hot tub needs to be emptied and cleaned. The water looks very dirty, looked very cloudy and not clear at all a bit greyish or brown looking. The main part of the hotel is lovely with several things to do including indoor and outdoor pools, pool tables, arcade, play areas, library etc. The whiskey bar was amazing with great cocktails and lovely staff. The concierge and front desk staff were lovely and friendly. We knew it was a family resort and expected children, but we didn't expect that the children would be running around like wild animals through the entire resort bugging guests. Overheard and also spoke to several guests who were also complaining about kids being a nuisance and even waking guests at 6am. One particular large group of several families just let their kids just run wild and had no control over their children, but no one seemed to try and stop them. The parents were very rude and entitled. They acted as if they owned the resort and too bad for anyone else trying to enjoy their stay. I let the front desk staff know when we were leaving and they said they had other complaints about this particular group so I'm not sure why they were not dealt with during their stay but allowed to disturb the rest of the guests at the resort. Such a shame that what could potentially be a 5 star resort has no attention to detail and allows children to just rule the hotel. Definitely need to step up dining options within the resort, especially for busy nights and the general cleanliness.

Rooms are more like a dingy motel room than what is supposed to be a 4-star resort. Dirty stained carpet, mould in the grout of the shower, dirty lamp shade.

Amazing hotel!!! Amazing staffs!! I left an item in the room when checked out, and upon calling that night, the reception confirmed that Housekeeping found it (recorded on computer). They sent it to my home and a week later it arrived!! Bless be the staffs who worked in this hotel. They are dedicated, kind and helpful <3 We Stayed in Jamieson wing L2. I asked for advance request of a room with mountain / valley view. So eventhough my request didn't pop up on the computer, the check in lady explained the description of the view of our prospective room. She'll make sure we still have a view of the valley looking out of our room. (Eventhough ours is a 'standard' room). We really recommend to get a room with a view into the valley. It made an amazing sight in the morning, with the fog cloud gathering up inside the valley, giving impression that you are ABOVE THE CLOUD!! Maybe ask for L4 next time, as the view will be even better higher up. I wouldn't recommend Courtyard room as it is in lower ground and it might not have the Valley view. Unless you have a dog... which would be amazing to bring fluffy. One dog owner took his dog for a run at the back yard (facing his courtyard). The grass yard has the view of the valley too. AMazing sight in the morning. Breakfast by the windows is a great start in the morning. The menu is the usual bacon egg etc.. The Shakshuka is a great variation to have for poached eggs. Well done! Fresh fruits and really nice pastries. Restaurant staffs are really helpful. Even helping us to move closer to the window looking at the nice view. They informed you when the buffet is about to close within 15 min, so you can take food before closing up. The gym location is not what the map says. Apparently accross the parking lot. You will get wet when it rained. The swimming pool is a warm 26C. However the demountable wall is not properly insulated and it's a pretty cold room in winter. However there are heaps of pool towel and there are several showers within steps to the pool, which you could jump in and have a really hot shower. We didn't end up eating in the restaurant, but the bar lounge is really cozy with a fire place. The food price in the lounge is more reasonable on par with the cafe price standard. The location is near Sublime point. About 20min walk to the lookout, or 2 min drive. A bit far from the shops. Thus a car is needed to get there, or if you want to dine at the restaurants near the mall. For a family with kids, I really recommend to ask for a room in Megalong Wing Level 2. That's where the indoor pool and kids games rooms are. It is also where the outdoor pool, Tennis court, outdoor gym, outdoor playground and maze is. There is a horse stable next to the hotel which kids can hire a pony. There is a free ice skating lesson if you ice skate there too. So many activities for kids! Would recommend this hotel to any families. We would love to come back again.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this hotel to celebrate my mother's 60th birthday, and it turned out to be an absolutely delightful experience. From the moment we checked in, we were pleasantly surprised by the exceptional service and thoughtful touches. Upon our arrival, the staff surprised us with a room upgrade, which set the tone for a fantastic stay. The upgraded room was not only spacious but also beautifully decorated, and it made our celebration extra special. To make it even better, we were handed drink vouchers at the reception by the wonderful Marcus, whose service went well above and beyond expectations. One of the most pleasant surprises of our stay was the complimentary bottle of wine waiting for us in our upgraded room. It was a thoughtful gesture that added a touch of charm to our celebration. The hotel's facilities were top-notch, and we thoroughly enjoyed the amenities they had to offer; the on-site restaurant 'Embers' served delicious food, the outdoor and heated indoor pools were well-maintained, and the arcade made for an especially joyous evening adventure. However, what truly stood out during our stay was the exceptional staff. They went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. From the front desk to the restaurant, everyone was welcoming, attentive, and willing to assist with any request or question. Their warmth and dedication truly enhanced our experience. In summary, our stay at this hotel for my mother's 60th birthday was an absolute delight. The room upgrade, drink vouchers, and complimentary bottle of wine were pleasant surprises that made the celebration all the more special. The fantastic facilities and the incredibly hospitable staff made our stay truly memorable. We left with hearts full of gratitude and cherished memories. We look forward to returning in the future and highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a memorable and enjoyable stay.

Firstly, amazing location, well kept gardens excellent amenities. The Brazilian concierge, whose name I unfortunately didn't catch, was a huge help, the Whisky Bar was very cool, albeit expensive and only open 3 nights a week and there is LOTS for the kids to do. I stayed with my parents as a teenager in the 90's, and it certainly has a very different feel now. It's is very family oriented, which is great, and we had our young kids, but don't expect a quiet, relaxed escape by the open fire place! Given we stayed on the October long weekend we may have just been caught by ridiculously expensive prices, however, what we got wasn't worth what we paid. The rooms are old. The bathrooms small. The amenities not up to the standard of this type of hotel. It was the little things. A coffee pod machine should be a minimum. The TV only had FTA and a handful of Fox channels. We had to virtually plead with an exhausted housekeeper to make up our room at 4:45pm on the first day. I put my finger through a bath towel it was so old. Some of the food and beverage staff seemed to have little to no knowledge about their job. For such a prestige hotel it is strange not to have poolside F&B service, and the outside pool, which isn't heated, had a large amount of debris and bugs which didn't appear to have been cleaned over the three days we were there. The breakfast wasn't anywhere near the same standard as many other 4+ star hotels I have been to. Food options were fairly limited overall. The overall theme of the stay was that there are a lot of one-percenters that contributed to being a little disappointed with the standard we received for the price we paid. Maybe hospitality staff are hard to find, but we just got the overall impression of having not enough staff, not enough competent staff, and a general attitude to cost-cutting by the hotel's owners/management.

The grounds are stunning, you pull up and you go wow this is very fancy (expected for the price you pay) you get into the Lobby and your blown away. It’s beautiful. You check in and the staff are nice enough. Then you get into the room and you are severely underwhelmed. Start to look around and go okay not too bad the view is nice from the room. Tv didn’t work, was told we had to turn it off at the back. The bathroom was ok. I liked the mirror options but the shower was dirty and I didn’t like how it was a shower and a bath all in one. The step out of the bathtub was dangerous. The aircon didn’t work at all. We had to turn it off and open the windows for some air. The fridge had one tiny Devon Dale milk in it. The robes were gross, you could tell the room hadn’t been cleaned throughly as I found some sunglasses behind the lounge pillows, had this been cleaned or even the pillows probed up they would have found this. The dining options were fine dining and very expensive. We had to resort to the golf club which food was average if that. The room was DUSTY and gross, food stains on the lounge and soap scum still on the soap holder. The sheets on the bed didn’t even fit the bed properly. Considering what we spend we are very disappointed. The rooms are NOT sound proof. All day and night you could hear kids screaming up and down the hallway and doors slamming. Room service had no options and closed at 9pm. Really upset with having to spend our hard earned money on this. The whole experience put a damper on our anniversary

I stayed in this property for three days and had a terrible experience with the front desk right at the moment we checked in. Just in the reception when we checked in we encountered a rude receptionist who made us feel very unwelcome for some reason, didn’t bothered to explain anything that the hotel had to offer and if asked any question he was very rude in replying and the front desk team mostly all the male members were really rude. We called the reception asking for glasses they told us that would be sent which never arrived and after that when we tried calling multiple times but with no luck they didn’t responded our calls at all. After a while we thought they might really be busy so went downstairs ourself and politely asked the receptionist to send two water glasses to our room. The receptionist just mentioned he would send it again that never arrived. The second day we had to make a reservation for a dinner at the restaurant and again had to encounter a rude receptionist who gave a mini anxiety when he noted our name for the restaurant booking. However, apart from the bad experience from the reception the concierge team had all our hearts, they were very friendly and helpful. Also, the restaurant team members were really nice. Apart from the rude receptionist rest were all good. It’s a sad thing that being in a front house and someone who’s suppose to represent the hotel acts so unprofessional which is a downside.

Initially as we walked up to reception, it was evident of how busy the hotel was. There was a bit of wait in line before reception were able to assist. Some people in the lines were frustrated and took out the anger on the employees (which I disagreed with and made a point to ensure they were doing a good job and not to listen to the angry people). Shout out to Marcus who was wonderfully welcoming and accommodating to my family (especially my kids) Once we checked-in, i was lucky to meet Adil (one of the concierges) who took our bags to our room and provided many attractions and things to do during our stay at the Resort. He was a gentlemen and very helpful. Yes, the hotel is old. However, the rooms are relatively updated, large and comfortable. So if you can see past the outdated decor or small cracks and crevices around the place.. then you'll be fine and actually enjoy your stay. It would be nice if the fireplace area near the rear facade is open to all hotel guests (not just guests dining at the restaurants) The resort is extremely kid-friendly with many options for the kids such as: - ice rink - indoor pool, spa and sauna - outdoor pool - horse riding - garden maze - basketball and tennis courts - arcade rooms - kids play areas As you can see.. there is no reason to be bored here. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and we intend to stay here for all our future trips to the Blue Mountains. Thank you!

I loved my short 1 night stay here. Emily the reservations manager was so helpful when I was trying to book and took care of everything so fast. I was lucky enough to spoil my mum with a night away for her birthday. A very very big shoutout to Marcus the manager for the lovely room upgrade to a deluxe balcony room for my mum, she absolutely loved it and the sunset from the balcony could not be better. Check-in with the wonderful Kaitlyn, she was so kind and caring and asked if we had plans and if we needed anything. When we arrived in the room, everything was perfect. Thank you to Rebecca for taking such care when cleaning. Lily from in-room dining who bought me and my mum desert was so nice and we had a lovely chat. Diana the breakfast manager was so bright, bubbly and enjoyable even though it was 7am in the morning, she was so kind and caring towards my mum and couldn't say enough nice things about her. We also used the amazing ice skating rink, and Chris W and Brandon were so happy to lend us some skates and provide anything we needed for a special experience, they were an absolute delight. Big thank you also to Faith in the bar who poured the wine and apple juice for me and my mum, it was greatly refreshing. I cannot wait till next year for another stay.

I stayed here for 3 nights with my son and it was a wonderful experience. The staff were all very friendly and obliging. Breakfast each morning, was outstanding - plenty to choose from! Location wise it was perfect - 7 min drive to Scenic world. 3 min drive to the beautiful town of Leura. Unfortunately the corridor light was quite bright and lit up our room of a night time. I couldn't seem to remedy this, as the light shone in from all 4 sides. This could be a personal preference though, in that I like my rooms to be completely dark for sleeping. There was also a couple of games machines out of order in the Kids Arcade, again though - I understand these things happen but it was just unfortunate that it happened to be over the school holiday break. We also arrived after the 3pm check in time to be told our room wasn't ready - which was fair enough. Busy time of year and all that. I was told I would receive a call when the room was ready. We then waited 40 mins with no update or call, so I approached the reception staff who told us that our room was in fact ready and the key was with Concierge. This was a little frustrating as had I not of asked I am unsure how much longer we would have waited. Reception did give us drinks vouchers for the Sublime lounge to use while we waited, although with a young child in tow, this was more for me than him.

The hotel is dirty, old, run down and has no soundproofing for a relaxing stay. This hotel is targeted at families will some great activities for kids, yet they do not cater for childrens food requirements, you can not get a takeaway pizza from the restaurant, even if you go pick it up. room service was limited to a handful of foods, and took 2hrs to arrive, kids dont want to sit in restaurants to eat and even the family one was a dining nightmare with all the kids trying there hardest to sit still.. no colour pencils or activities. The rooms had gaps under the doorways so every screaming child walking down the hallway woke us up, staff collected roomservice plates at 11pm waking us up too and vacuum after midnight. The balcony door didnt shut properly so cold air and wind flew through the room. The outside pool was freezing.. its the blue mountains.. it is never hot enough for the pool not to be heated. The indoor pool had so many people in it, no ventilation, it stunk and there was mould all over the pool equipment. Overall, it was a rough holiday, will not be back and would not recommend for anyone without children.. i had mine there and it was overwhelming for me!

We had a group of 6 staying at the Hotel. Service was lovely well informed. Rooms spacious and comfortable. Amenities has entertainment for children. The hotel is dated and needs upgrading, there really isn't an outdoor area that you can sit with a group and chat. The area they had has no cover broken chairs and we were told we had to move as there was a conference and they might need it. We walked past the cafe opp the reception and the tables were full of empty dishes for hours. Ordered a wine and it was poured in a hot glass from the dish washer he was surprised I refused the drink a bit bizarre they have the Brand "Sydney Beers" they were not enjoyable tried 2 of them. We felt the menu in Embers the main restaurant did not cater to all taste, it was very refined. The group couldn't pick an item off the menu to enjoy so we went across to the Golf Club. The next night we dined at the Italian cafe on the bottom level and again there was not much to choose from. When we did order, the meals arrived in 10 min all 6 dishes so assumed all pre made. For a SOFITEL and for the Money I did not think we got great value with our stay.

Booked for my daughter's 6th birthday and Caitlyn and Zeke prepared everything before we arrived. You efforts made everything extra special. We thank you for the lovely surprise room upgrade and the in-room birthday surprise plus more, I wish all hotel staff are as nice as you both. Shoutout to wonderful Roger and the other lovely gentleman in concierge. The very nice lady in reception when we checked in, Also to Ember's Grill for surprise birthday cake and present. To the lovely manager in Jamisons for the lovely choc gift for my daughter. My 6 yr old daughter was so happy for all the love shown and cried when it was time to check out. My other daughter is already asking me if she can also visit your hotel for her birthday in March! I have not mentioned everyone but so many good experiences.Already looking at booking in March and September! Our heartfelt thanks Fairmont Resort and Staff and to lovely managers and I think Sherry who personally called me to ask if we needed anything during our stay. I have already spread the words to my friends and family about our perfect holiday (And yes they have booked). Au revoir, Fairmont.

I stayed here with my son for 3 nights. The hotel itself is lovely and the facilities are great for kids, my son loved the indoor pool and games room (outdoor pool was way too cold). The rooms are very underwhelming, especially given the price you pay. We booked a courtyard room however the courtyard was not usable as it was covered in leaves, bugs and cobwebs. The outdoor furniture is falling apart and there is no light. The bathroom was terrible. Grout had fallen out of tiles in the shower area and the step in and out over the bath is extremely dangerous. There was next to no water pressure at all making showering almost impossible anyway. The toilet didn’t flush properly even after flushing 3 times. The TV didn’t work at all on our last day. The room was dirty, very rundown and outdated, leather peeling of the arm chair and teaspoons hadn’t been washed with dried coffee stuck to them. Rooms and hallways are in desperate need of an upgrade. I would hesitate to stay here again until rooms have been updated, given the price you pay.

Beautiful location and amazing grounds. Views are incredible I must say. Lobby is stunning especially in July all done up in Xmas cheer. Xmas music in the background reminded me of Xmas in London in fact. Lovely! the rooms are spacious BUT quite dated and not clean at all I don’t know why a 5 star hotel wouldn’t have complimentary water in the bar fridge either as a minimum as well as access to streaming services?? In this day and age especially as we try and attract international travellers back to our shores. Pillows are terrible and bed is very uncomfortable I wasn’t even asked how did I enjoy my stay on checkout giving me the opportunity to show them the 2 glasses in the room I couldn’t use to drink water with because they were filthy A shame for such a quality location and prestigious brand Staff are very nice and welcoming. Restaurant is lovely and very cosy with the quaint fireplace with great staff serving!! Food was nice but I consider it overpriced. I can imagine the hey day of this place in yesteryear but more needs to be done to keep attracting people back. Not sure I will be back anytime soon.

Facilities in the resort accommodate families very well. I wouldn’t recommend this place for a kid free getaway. Ponies, ice skating rink, 2 pools and games room to name a few. (at extra cost) Library room is very cosy and inviting. Location is very spacious and beautiful. Lots of walking space and close to free attractions if you wanna visit 3 sisters, Sublime point Lookout or boutiques etc.. However unfortunately, Rooms: Old and withered. I’m not sure if we just got an old room. Furniture was not clean and bedding wasn’t comfortable. Outside the courtyard wasn’t cleaned and was messy. Bathroom has mold and water pressure was very low in the shower. Service: Reception service was not very accomodating. Asked for some water to be delivered and never received, although they said they will. Doorman gentleman was friendly and helpful to people. Embers Grill restaurant: Food and service both were ok but nothing wow! Restaurant atmosphere however is very beautiful and views are 5 stars. In room menu is very minimal and mini bar has only a carton of milk. So be prepared for snacks if you go here. Overall a bit if let down sadly. I’m not sure if we’d revisit.

We had very unpleasant experience during our stay for my husbands birthday gift. Indoor swimming pool and dining area was great, room was comfy and neatly. However our experience during the night was far from ok. Our overall sleep during the night was almost zero. We could hear very loud strong bang sound travelling into our room. On two occasions there was what I would describe as a long high frequency mumming noise, first around 10pm the second around 1 am. Also, We can hear next room’s conversation and movement loudly at night. In the early morning (6Am)the next room’s guest s being on the floor. They were so loud that you will be torn from sleep. You get the feeling that run a much of horses. It’s really annoying. Our sleep was interrupted several times. We didn’t rest and relax at all. Our room was 225. Seriously, We haven’t had such bad and unpleasant experience at any other resort. It was like we were staying in cheap entry level motel or AIRBNB.

Really nice hotel/resort, has very nice restaurants, with good views all around. There are also tennis courts and lots of good photo spots all around the resort. Has a good indoor/outdoor pool and a small arcade. Overall very luxurious for a "4-star hotel" as it is listed on Google. Almost forgot about this: kids get a free duck plush. 5/5

Some rooms are good and some aren't as good. Some rooms have great views of the Blue Mountains and other rooms have views of the entry driveway.
Food & drinks
Food is pretty cool, the restaurant (I think it's called the bar) in the lobby floor has the "normal" food and the restaurant underneath it has more exotic fancy stuff, if you're into that sort of stuff. Can't forget about Embers and Jamison's (I think that's what they're called) which both have huge windows letting you see out into the valleys while you eat.

Very underwhelming rooms which are outdated, dim and cold. The air con temp seems to be capped so that we can’t adjust the heating to warmer to suit us. It is spring and we are sitting around with sweaters on… in a ‘heated’ room which definitely does not feel the 26.5 degrees indicated on the thermostat. We ordered nuggets and chips in room for the kids and they were probably the greasiest nuggets I’ve ever come across with soggy type chips. Even the kids didn’t want to eat them. Explored all dining options and the menus were all very basic. Considering the nuggets experience, we are reluctant to try what else is on offer. Minibar has one Devondale milk and standard tea bags. Rooms are so low tech that they do not support mirroring from an Apple device or the ability to log in to use personal Netflix account. The only positive so far is the pretty outlook of the valley.

We stayed at the hotel to attend a family wedding held at the location. The concierge team were amazing. On arrival, we were welcomed immediately by Michael. We had arrived 4 hours earlier than the standard check-in time, however Michael spoke to the desk staff and facilitated an immediate check-in. The desk staff were accommodating and friendly. The cleaners were also super polite, greeting us each time we walked passed them. The hotel itself was beautiful, with the rooms absolutely spotless, while also maintaining their antique charm. The garden location of the wedding ceremony was lovely and serene, which made for a perfect wedding day. To top it off, the reception was held at the hotel restaurant, and both the food and service was exceptional and certainly exceeded expectations. With respect to the buffet breakfast, the food was fresh, with the standard variety expected at any Australian hotel. I would without a doubt stay here again.

I have been to the Fairmont about 5 years ago for a work event and thought it very good then. I thought my family would enjoy a stay there after the experience and so booked for 4 nights. The staff were all very nice and accommodating in both instances and were grappling with a large amount of guests over the Easter holiday period. The grounds are picturesque and the large window looking over the mountains is breathtaking. I thought there were very good facilities for young families and I think this is where they are seeming to pitch their market now. Staying in a peek period of school holidays isn't conducive to a peaceful break I've decided and was probably a bit foolish to think it would be. My reason for 4 stars is that there is very little sound proofing from walls of rooms, menus are a little bit limited and rooms are in need of a revamp. I do think the staff there are trying their absolute best in some difficult circumstances.

We had a courtyard room which was lovely. The room was well maintained however the courtyard pavers were a bit of a trip hazard. The latch to hold the door back was broken so we had to use a chair. We were disappointed that the restaurants were all booked up so we sat in the bar both nights. It would have been nice to have been advised to book will in advance especially as this was a birthday treat. The food in the bar was very nice though. Unfortunately the coffee order on our way out for the day was really disappointing too. The order was totally mixed up and could have had sever consequences. Wrong milk used in the wrong size and not hot at all. Over all our stay was very nice, that staff were all really lovely and polite. The room was clean and neat, as were the grounds and amenities. I would definitely recommend the resort but suggest you look at the restaurants and book before you arrive.

The worst stay I have ever had. It was for my birthday weekend. We arrived and the lobby was nice and that's where it ended. Our air conditioning didn't work, refrigerator didn't work. Concierge said they had booked our dinner in for two nights. We arrived to the restaurant and there was no booking under our name after we waited an hour and a half and were starving. We then proceeded to go to the restaurant upstairs and we were overcharged for our meal. I asked the lady and she rudely replied “you never told me you didn't want that on your bill?”. The food was sub par at best and overpriced. There is also no chromecast available so you have to pay $35 to watch unlimited movies for only 24 hours like you're in the 80s.The parking is a nightmare and each time had to trek 15 minutes to our car.We were so disappointed we will never be returning and will tell other people the same.

My new wife and I enjoyed our 4 night stay and took in many of the local sights and attractions, however, our room location on the 2nd floor near the pool and kids area made for a great deal of noise in the hallway outside our door with people and children moving quite loudly to and from those facilities at all hours of the day and night. The only other disappointing thing was that on the 3rd day, my wife took quite ill and I needed some dry toast and a little fruit to help her tummy. This was in the middle of the day so unfortunately, breakfast service had finished and when I asked the staff at the Sublime Lounge for this, I was told they could only provide the menu items and it all seemed way too hard for them to provide this simple request. Otherwise, our stay was very good and the staff and service were brilliant. Thank you.

The Fairmont is a warm, welcoming resort, staffed by friendly, highly professional staff. The entry to the main lobby sets the mood of understated luxury and mountain vibes. We stayed in a beautiful room, with views into the Jamison Valley. Spacious and tastefully decorated the room reflected the relaxed, comfortable feel of the resort. Ideally located close to Leura, the resort is close to many local attractions and areas of natural beauty. The staff were particularly helpful and well informed. The breakfast buffet was excellent, offering menu choices for all ages and catered to many different diet requirements. It was lovely to be able to sit and look out into the valley during breakfast. Excellent food and beverage options are available at The Sublime Lounge, where we enjoyed a light meal next to the fireplace. We definitely intend to book another short break at The Fairmont in the near future.

Fairmont Resort and Spa Blue Mountains was amazing and they made the celebration of my partners birthday amazing. They went out of their way to make our stay 100% perfect. Started with reservations extraordinaire Christine and then all staff that we came in contact with during our stay. There really wasn't a bad thing that happened on our 72 hours there apart from having to check out....

Beautiful location with lots on offer. The hotel is running well compared to what it was with old owners. Staff were friendly, but there is room for improvement, and the building is in need of a bit of maintenance, which is understandabledue to its age. Pool, gym, ice skate rink, train rides, pony rides, basketball court, and kids activities make this place ideal for kids, which is why there are lots of families around and perhaps a little more noise than couples without kids would prefer. Breakfast is good but suggest you go early or late as it gets very busy and staff often apply time limits. The restaurants get booked out fast, so be sure to book in to avoid missing out.

Wonderful check in. Wonderful room with great WiFi and great air conditioning and the room was a generous size. However food options for a vegetarian were very poor. I was on my own. I thought OK I'll sit at the pizza cafe but eat some and take some back to my room. On inquiry taking back to room was not allowed. I thought OK I will have room service. There was a vegetarian burger on offer that was really just filled with a giant mushroom and a bit of lettuce. And very expensive. Breakfast was decent but at $30 too expensive. There was some sort of conference happening so I had no chance at all to get a breakfast table near the windows for a valley view. Those tables were all taken. Check in/check out staff were wonderful.

Had a weekend away with my husband, 2 kids (4 and 3 years) and grandparents. Hotel was really well suited for my kids with the indoor play areas, the pools and the ice skating. They even had a little train ride and merry-go-round for the kids. The team were also really great and helpful. Even when we had a little incident while ice skating. The team there responded very quickly and professionally, the General Manager even came down to check on us. Suited us really well for a weekend getaway. Didn't need to leave the hotel with everything available for us to do in the hotel.

It's a good resort with lots of facilities especially for families with lots of activities. The main areas are excellent with good options for evening meals and breakfast. It's certainly spoilt with choice of services with even a theatre. Probably more suited to families with teenage children who would avail themselves of many of the activities. Although I would say that supervision is required especially in the theatre of children.

The Fairmont is an incredible resort. Hidden away in the picturesque Blue Mountains, the Fairmont is the perfect spot for a tranquil getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. We had the best time during our stay; the resort has endless activities to entertain the whole family and there’s always something to do. The staff are incredible, kind and thoughtful, and go above and beyond for their guests. The Italian restaurant on site is the best Italian I’ve ever had. The entire experience was incredible and we highly recommend the Fairmont to anyone wanting a getaway in the Blue Mountains.

I was disappointed with my experience. Great facilities. Service need serious improvement. It was our wedding necessary trip. The room was not services. You would expect at least fresh set of towels but not. Lobby 3 pm weekday my husband have to wait around 1 hr for the coffee. Restaurants, food selection, facilities, spa - great and as expected. Buffet breakfast - great selection of food. I contacted the venue online and didn’t get the response. This is not what I would expect from 4 stars venue. Overall great facilities and location. Check out the venue answer they don’t even bother to insert guests name. One resent change you have to call to reception to order room service. In the past it was just assumed room service.

Food was great but the wine was expensive ($22 for a large glass of mediocre sav Blanc). The place is rundown and dirty. Scuff marked on walls, clunky lifts, cobwebs on windows, rotting timber work at the entrance just to name a few. The assistant manager was completely unfamiliar with rules/legislation pertaining to the public access rights of accredited Service Dogs despite them being offered the relevant documentation. The approach was borderline in breach of both federal and state discrimination laws which was very surprising from a large hotel chain such as this. Overall a disappointing experience and I would rush back.

Nice friendly staff at reception, and great service by the concierge in assisting with the transfer of our luggage right up to our room. Rooms are older in style however very clean and presentable. A/C control was perfect and the bathroom was very clean. Easy check-in and out. We attended a wedding reception and the service was great with a very nice menu. The bar downstairs was good with some entertainment and the bar staff was friendly. Drinks prices were reasonable during "happy hour" although the margarita was not up to my standard as the mix was syrup. Overall the experience was excellent and we would recommend staying here as it is close to Leura's main town center and the rail station.

After reading mixed reviews about this hotel, we decided to give it a try for ourselves and spent a weekend getaway here. As others have pointed out, this resort is in need of a renovation. The room itself was clean and acceptable condition given the age of this place. We notified the resort that we were coming for our daughters birthday and they kindly left some lollies, macarons and drinks as a nice surprise. The kids play area could use an uplift and we were disappointed that there was no longer a ball pit. The mirror maze was just a novelty. We also had the breakfast buffet and found the food quality subpar for the price we paid.

I booked 3 rooms for 2 nights during school holiday. On the first night, I have told the reception that the heating mode of the air conditioner was not working in one of the rooms in level 3. Reception told me maintenance team has left the premise and they gave me a tiny heater. At the morning in the next day, I reminded the reception to get someone to fix as the temperature has dropped. And unfortunately, there was nobody coming to fix the issue. I have stayed Fairmont for many many nights in the past and this time it was a disappointing experience.

On arrival I was pleasantly surprised to have been allocated a room with a view of the beautiful Blue Mountains. The room was spacious and had a very comfortable bed. Check in staff were very helpful and efficient, and booked me in for dinner at Embers Restaurant that night. Unfortunately I was disappointed with the quality of the meal I received. The oysters were drowning in too much bourbon sauce and the lamb cutlets were very tough to cut and very chewy, certainly not what I expected from this establishment. The staff I interacted with throughout the hotel were very friendly and attentive, they all made me feel welcome.

Location is beautiful, and easy to locate. Attended a sparkling high tea, but was disappointed with the food quality and safety. However, they either didn't understand the allergies or just failed to provide what is required in regards to food safety.

Loved the resort right from the time we entered the foyer to the time we left, two nights later. Two doctors is a hidden gem. Great atmosphere and the love music only added to it. All the staff were approachable and friendly and helpful. For me, personally, it is the calibre of the staff that make or break an establishment. My very first experience at the Fairmont was 25 years ago, stayed in the Megalong suite. My experience back then was great. I had been back another time prior and having again come back to date, I can see that the place is in real need of an update. The lighting is very old and outdated. The main fireplace was pinnacle to the admiration of the place, now that have dinner tables instead around it. Whoever is in charge and it's owners need to wake up and bring the place back to its glory days. It has a great location and has great potential but, while it still pulls in customers, I dare say it could do more.

Expected more from the hotel but was disappointed because it was old & outdated. There wasn't any available guided tours to international tourists or maybe the receptionist just did not provide enough information or assistance when we checked in. The hotel seems to be suitable though for guests who plays outdoor sports & local tourists. But for those who need guided tours of the grounds & new to Australia, there aren't much tours available from the hotel. I'm afraid this hotel didn't serve the purpose we were there for.

Huge resort with lots of things to do for the family The service was good, the concierge was incredible helpful and there were plenty of food options, playgrounds, two pools, spa, sauna, basketball court, rides for the kids, etc.. You can easily spend 2-3 days in the resort and never run out of fun things to do. Unfortunately however, the rooms were worn out. And when I say worn out, I mean stained carpets and a sofa with peeling arm cover. It's shame and such a wasted potential to an otherwise almost perfect resort.

Not a bad location with some great views. However, they need to play catch up with other hotels. Their rooms are dated and the whole place feels run down. Long wait times to get main course meals in a restaurant that's half empty is not reasonable. Ordering a steak medium and having it come out blue is also not a good thing. This place is great for kids as they offer a lot of activities, the pool is great and they even convert the in-house auditorium into a cinema.

Absolutely stunning views & in a great location. There were lots of amenities on site, however mostly catered to younger kids, my teenagers were too old for most of it. However the biggest downside for me was the service & housekeeping. The only thing done was to make the beds, rubbish wasn't emptied, no fresh towels, bathroom wasn't cleaned so a bit disappointing as that's the best part of staying at a hotel for any mom I assume.

The resort has a lot of facilities, bars and restaurants available but it lacks something. It's a bit tired and worn and kitsch. The rooms are ordinary- the sheets and bed topper didn't fit the king size bed so consequently slipped all over the place during the night, we were given 1 (yes 1) towel to use, the tea and coffee facilities were very basic, no biscuits or snacks. I think I will go back to bed and breakfast accommodation in the Blue Mountains - a much better way to experience the mountains and mountains hospitality.

Staff were great. Resort is SUPER kid friendly to the point of being overwhelming with kids running and screaming everywhere, but that one is on us for not researching. The rooms are fine, ours were very clean and tidy - the water pressure in the shower was a bit low and it sprayed water all over the bathroom, but that's my only complaint about the room itself. However, the soundproofing between rooms is really bad - we were kept up all night by the sound of next door's baby screaming. If you have kids I reckon this would be a great place, but avoid it if you don't.

The main lobby of Fairmont is very lovely. But that's it. When you walk down the corridor it starts to go downhill. The rooms are very very basic and very overpriced for what you get. Beds are extremely uncomfortable and hard, even a second requested mattress topper didn't do the job. Massive gap in the outside door which was "fixed" by putting a towel in there. This place had a beautiful outlook but needs an update. Broken shower rail. Very small bathroom. We were meant to stay 3 nights but only lasted 1 night because of these issues. Disappointing

Fantastic for families with young kids - might not be for those that don’t. Took our 10 month old with us for our stay. The place was fantastic, with a gift for him on arrival and stacks of baby friendly places to go, including play areas and the well heated indoor pool. Showed all the best bits of going to a resort with kids. Plenty of other kids around. Would tend to agree with some negative reviews - it might almost be too kid friendly for those looking for a romantic get away without kids.

This is a great family friendly resort. Unfortunately, I was not aware of that before I stayed with my partner. It was quite loud and buzzing with toddlers. The first night we had young children running up and down the hall shouting outside our room until midnight. Great breakfast, great view - but not ideal if you are looking for a quiet couples retreat.

Re: The Schwarz Foundation Only found out was charged after I was charged having noticed the difference between my online booking and the charge. BELIEVE YOU SHOULD ADVISE PATRONS EXPLICITLY IF THEY ARE HAPPY TO BE SO CHARGED (lets face it no one stands at the reception desk reading all the small print). IN A WORD NEED TO BE TRANSPARENT. Even at the self-serve supermarket if they want me to make a similar donation, they will seek my consent clearly and transparently.

Very dated resort, needs a major refurbishment. Would have been good in the 80's, but really showing its age now. The air conditioning in the room did not work on our 2 night stay, and we noticed the tradesman that tried to fix ours was also going into other rooms for what seemed to be the same issue. I'm an Accor Diamond member.... the Fairmont resort in Sydney's Blue Mountains isn't worth more than 3 stars. For example, no drinking water bottles in our room, the bar fridge completely empty, couldn't make any coffee even though a coffee machine was there. The bathroom shower floor is dangerous -> extremely slippery when wet.

Friendly helpful staff, although some on the reservations desk and the Sublime bar were probably still training. Those at the concierge desk were first class. Embers Grill was definitely worth a visit, with fine food. Wine by the glass wasn't quite what I expected, but perhaps that was just my palate on the day. Would go again.

We had the most amazing time at the Fairmont Resort. Rooms are exceptionally clean and the food at Embers Grill is just divine. The day spa was the highlight of our stay. There are plenty of activities for families with young children too.

At almost 300 per night and the hotel almost empty they place you above visitors with 2 dogs which bark from 5am. The room smells because it's been empty for some time and has had a water issue. Nice location but not worth the price there are better places to stay.

Just went for lunch in the bar area, left of the main entry. Service was good the waiter only brought out half the meals. Salads burgers passable the hot chips were a tad overcooked. Note the main restaurant overlooking the valley closes at 2pm. Still a great place to visit. Great to see so many young families staying there for the weekend!

Probably one of the best resorts we ever stayed, perfect location at the door step of blue mountains and the courtyard room we got was very nice. Has lot of activities and kids play area is great. Lots of restaurant options to chose from and the sublime lounge food was amazing. Breakfast is included and it’s standard but on the whole we enjoyed our stay

There are lots of facilities- pools, ice rink, cafe, restaurants, tennis courts, golf course etc. Large place. Not the real Blue Mountains experience however. Breakfast is extra cost. Rooms bit tired. Sheets did not fit bed so came off during night. 1 towel provided in the room (2 people).

My toddler enjoyed his stay here, it is very kid friendly with a range of activities for kids, he especially liked the fish tank in the reception area and the kids arcade room. However I was disappointed in the toddler soft play area, there were no balls in the ball pit and no mini cars for toddlers to ride in, as per the photos advertised.

Room was nice but air con set at 20 degrees or higher too hot so turned it off and opened a window. Food was nice but servings small for the price. Staff and location lovely

We have come back since my first bad rating. Our room and service were much better. Lots to do for kids. Some restaurants are too expensive but overall we had a great experience this time.

Lovely hotel! 5 star experience though the bathrooms may need some updating. Otherwise definitely recommend! The staff were amazing and super friendly and helpful, a range of restaurants and lounges to pick from and plenty to do with the ice rink, tennis courts and spa facilities. Would book again.

Spacious room. Great facilities on site for kids. Big areas to explore and walk throughout the day. Would like the hotel to consider sealing the glass panel above the long tub so that less amount of water could leak through.

We were surprised by all the in house activities that were available to us. We had a big extended family long weekend stay and everyone enjoyed their time.

We had a complaint about the carpet in the room that had a ridge in it that could have caused us to trip. Staff handled very well. We were offered a change of room but declined as like the open back area. We were though offered complimentary breakfast.

I'm delighted with the facilities and truly appreciate the staff's warm greetings and dedication to their work. I'll definitely recommend it to all my family and friends.

Excellent place! Good clean rooms and about 10 mins drive to mostly everything. Highly recommend this place if you are in the area. It’s got a nice fitness center and golf area as well.
