I never leave any comments on Google but I wanted to share with everyone this hidden gem ! This is one of the best restaurants I’ve been to during my road trip in Vietnam and I’m also used to eating a lot of Vietnamese food back at home. The food was very tasty and delicious, a lot of choice (including veggie options). The drinks were also great (try the salt coffee !). But what stood out the most was the generosity of the owner who welcomed us with a warm smile and offered us wet tissues before lunch and tea and bananas for dessert. He made sure all along that we had everything and that we enjoyed the food. The restaurant is also well located with a superb view on the Citadel and the river. So if you ever come to Hue, even for a short period of time (we only stayed a day), make sure to come by Fast food 22 !!

We stopped here for lunch on our way to the citadel. We hadn't read the reviews it just looked like a nice spot to stop and get out of the heat - but what a great find. It was one of the best places we've eaten in Vietnam. Food was amazing really tasty and a varied vietnamese menu. My daughter had the grilled pork and rice and has been craving more but she's never found anywhere as good! The owner was very friendly and attentive (but not too attentive!), and gave us banana and tea after the meal. The location is great right on the moat near the entrance to the citadel, on a car free street with lots of plants for shade. Overall a wonderful relaxing lunch at a place that really deserves all the great reviews.

Really nice food and lovely attentive staff. Would really recommend coming here. I’m vegetarian and got the vegetarian fried noodles which were amazing and my boyfriend got the grilled pork with white rice which was just as nice it was a really hot day so they kindly gave everyone ice and these cold wipes too cool us down they also gave us free bananas at the end which was lovely! It was also very very cheap it was around £4 for our two dishes, 3 bottles of water and an orange juice. The portions are really good too I was very full when I left lol

There was a whole menu section on vegetarian options and they were very accommodating to any changes to dishes

Fast Food 22, recommended by our hotel, exceeded expectations! The serene ambiance, cleanliness, and stunning view created a delightful setting. We savored crispy fried rolls, a unique chicken paper roll dish, and a delicious green banana leaf noodle creation. The banana pancake with chocolate was a sweet treat, served with tea and takeaway bananas. Surprisingly affordable, our feast with four beers cost just 250,000 VND. The friendly server added to the positive experience. Fast Food 22 is a must-visit if you're in the area. We left thoroughly satisfied, appreciating this hidden gem.

This place is a hidden gem. With the amazing view on the citadel walls, sitting by the moat, you can savor the delicious food. Actually, it is the best food in Hue! Once I had tried it here, I came back for the breakfast, and lunch, and dinner, 2 days in a row! On top of that, the whole atmosphere is truly wonderful - the owner and his wife, are so kind and helpful. Even though they don’t speak much English (still way more than I could possibly say in Vietnamese), they are beaming with positive energy. It really felt as being a guest in their home, I really would like to come back here someday! Thank you! Highly recommended!

Best food we had in Vietnam!!!! We were so disappointed in Vietnamese cuisine until we found this place. The owner is so nice and friendly. He made sure we felt like home. Went there to eat 3 days in a row. Fresh juices are amazing, tried all of them. We had so much food there every day and everything was just delicious. I liked the most spring rolls, garlic prawns and pineapple pancakes. They also offer traditional Hue food, you must try it! So sad we have to leave Hue and can't dine there anymore :( Will miss this place!!!

Found this amazing place after a long walk in the heat. The owner was incredibly sweet and made sure I was sitting near a fan and even brought me ice and tissues. In addition to the delicious food he offered me a banana and some lemon tea and let me charge my phone. As a vegetarian I had a big variety of dishes to choose from and even though he wasn’t fluent in english the owner tried his best to explain them to me. Great food, huge portions, good prices, I would definitely recommend this restaurant!

The food here is delicious! Especially the vegetables, and so I recommend the vegetarian fried rice and the vegetarian noodles, it tastes so fresh and healthy. The fried chicken with potatoes (chips) was also wonderful. The homemade lemonade was refreshing, and they offer complimentary fruit after your meal. The owner was very friendly and conscientious, making sure that the fans were directed at people and providing a cloth on ice to cool down after arriving. Highly recommend, wonderful family run restaurant.

Fast Food 22 is the best place to eat that we found in Hue. It is in a quiet and charming area and the owner is incredibly friendly. We ate at Fast Food 22 twice and once he opened the restaurant up just for us after a rainstorm. The name of the restaurant can be a bit misleading. The food there is actually much better than just Fast Food and it is local food.

There was a variety of vegetarian dishes. They had dishes with rice and noodles, vegetarian hot pot and even more.

Great place, very friendly and welcoming owner, delicious food. The service was just amazing. I ordered the vegetarian sauteed noodles. They were very fresh and delicious. Afterwards the owner even served everyone a tea and a banana. And he was so fast in making sure everyone was equipped with a fan and not dying in the heat.

The sauteed noodles with vegetables are just delicious and a huge portion. They also have a few other vegetarian options.

The name does not do this place justice. The food served is way better than fastfood, might even be the best in Huè. Against our own rules we decided to eat here three days in a row. All dishes were extremely tasty, especially the ones from the "Hue specialities" section where devine. Servings a good and pricing even better. The owner is friendliest host we have met in Vietnam so far. Free tea and a banana each to complete the great sevice.

Great experience. Highly recommendable. Great place to go after a visit to the Citadel due to its great location. The owner is a very kind person. Always willing to help. There are lots of fans to fight the heat of the city. The food was delicious. We ordered crispy noodles and squid. After lunch the owner gifted us with some free bananas and some tea. If you order a big bottle of water and you don't finish it, he will give you a hanger for the bottle. Very nice person.

Incredible service and delicious food! We arrived on a 40 degree day at lunchtime and the owner quickly rushed out to give us a cool cloth and make sure the fans were pointed at us. We thoroughly enjoyed the food, the beef pho was great and the spring rolls were so crunchy - the owner showed us how to mix up a sauce for them as well. At the end of the meal he brought out bananas and ice tea for us - no charge! I would highly recommend this place, you will not be disappointed with the food or the service

The owner is so kind and lovely! He works very hard and it shows. You can order a lot of local dishes here and they're quite good. Prices are very fair too, considering the location. He gave us tea as it was pouring, and bananas as dessert after the meal. He noticed we only had one rain jacket between the two of us and gave us a poncho. An absolute angel and example for many other restaurant owners! Definitely recommended.

Awesome dishes local to Hue: the Banh Khoai was crispy, not fatty at all yet super flavourful, and the Nem Lui was served with plenty of vegetables and was really tasty. The family is super friendly, and the location is great - right next to the citadel. I would’ve given 5/5 and now want to give more after we got a free tea and banana for dessert. Go here, it will not disappoint!!

What a nice cosy restaurant! We ordered spring rolls, rice dishes, and a Hué soup. Everything was tasty! You can eat upstairs, which has clearly been a home a long time ago. The walls to the rooms are still there, which gives the restaurant a unique look. Nice and friendly staff... Did not yell at us when we walked by. :-) Would definitely recommend it!

The service it's amazing. Two of us were a bit unwell and he noticed it and helped them brought things out of the menu without asking for anything later. Also, the food was really good and they were completed with complementary green tea and bananas. We came back for the second time afterwards!!! Also a really cute place with views to the Imperial City.

Popped in for lunch on our way to the old city. The food is really tasty and the Vietnamese salt coffee is a must try! The owner is one of the kindest people we have met in Vietnam. He noticed my boyfriend had a cold, and gave him lots of fresh ginger and tea to soothe his throat. We even got some free bananas after our meal. Highly recommend :-)

Really beautiful location with super kind staff- I think it was run by a family and they were all lovely. If you're feeling hot in Hue, they have loads of fans and water coolers so it's super chill and great for a little break while sightseeing. We didn't eat this time (unfortunately we ate just before) but I saw other people's food and it looked really good. Strong recommendation, I hope to go back!

Best meal in Vietnam. Such a kind owner - cold towels to wash our face when we arrived, turned on the fans to cool us down, sat outside overlooking the river, free iced tea and bananas and delicious food. We had the self-rolled chicken, crunchy spring rolls and a fresh noodle and chicken salad. Highly highly recommend.

We have been to the restaurant multiple time for breakfast as well as dinner and we were amazed by the experience every time. Delicious food in an adorable, beautifully decorated setting. The man who served us was absolute lovely and went above and beyond even though we didn’t speak the same language. He seemed truly passionate about providing good meals and his big dog even came out for a wee pet at the end. We had the grilled pork rice, stir-fried beef and spring rolls and loved it, plus the view was beautiful at night.

Many options and amazing food!

The food we ordered although tasty was not authentic. Bun Bo was missing herbs. Rice paper rolls fillings were stir fried. The male owner told me they cater for western tourists. He was very friendly and attentive though. Wet wipes are free. Free tea and bananas after your meal. Nice seating area.

Very recommendable family restaurant. Food is served in good quantities and the owner is very friendly to it’s customers. Went there for lunch & dinner in the same day, so you can tell I liked it. You should be aware that you could catch a guy there, trying to sell you his motorbike trip from Hue to Da Nang/Hoi An (which might be worth it, but we just wanted to have lunch in peace).

This place is actually incredible- really nice owner, who goes the extra mile. Right next to the imperial city and amazing food. We had the fried noodles with chicken, pho and spring rolls. All impeccable and really cheap. It doesn’t look like much from the outside but this place is great!

The name doesn't fit the food. Restaurant was recommended by a local and tge food was amazing, one of the best we had in Vietnam. The owner is super cute and even gave us free tea and free fruit plate. After paying we even got some bananas. A must visit!

Very nice place and super host (attentive, helpful). He offered chilled wet wipes, free tea with our food order, and ice with our drinks. The price for dishes is quite low for the very center of the city in a touristic place. The food is delicious.

The food was great and the service spectacular. The staff were extremely kind. We received tea and bananas on the house. The owner even gave us rain jackets to take home as it started raining during our meal. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you want a local food at affordable prices.

The owner is really nice and go above and beyond to be sure you have a great experience! The meals were delicious and we were offer bananas and tea at the end of our meal.

The best restaurant in whole hue!! Definitely go there the food is really tasty and amazing. Also the staff is so friendly and thoughtful

Good food, super friendly people. I even got a free banana and tea at the end. And you have a cool view of the ancient gate.

Delicious food, even the pasta! We tried the mango smoothie which was the best I ever tasted. He offered us tea and banana with a huge smile :)
