Great yumcha experience! Delicious food, lots of variety and quick service. Food highlights: egg custard, eggplant, anything prawn (very juicy), congee and tried this unique mungbean red bean rice dessert. We came on a weekend (pre-booked) for the 11am session. We noticed their thoughtfulness of putting highchairs away from trolley side of the table for safety. Staff were by far friendlier than other yum cha places and surprisingly the price is more reasonable than other restaurants that offer yum cha in the eastern suburbs (e.g. secret kitchen and dragon palace cost much more for the amount of food we ordered). We left feeling satisfied and full! Nice atmosphere and we did not feel rushed for the second seating after us. You can also request for specific dishes via the staff if needed. Recommend the jupu tea (mixed chrysanthemum and puerh).

Charges 8.80 more PER dish plus a 5 dollar room service fee if you want to pay using your hotel room. The restaurant is in the hotel but is a separate business so when they said the higher price for hotel guests is because of a commission by the hotel I walked away baffled. When I asked the hotel concierge about this he told me there was no such commission and doesn't understand the excessive service fee for hotel guests. I normally use the RSL across the road but it was unavailable on this occasion. Next time I'll pick something up on the way in. The food itself is average enough, sweet and sour pork is 90% batter as per any cheap food court fare. Good luck if it's your only option too. Photo shows the random difference in price between items for guests of the hotel and anyone else.

Service was very poor, we ordered a special dish but the waiter delivered something we didn't order. But as they placed it on the table, we said to them we didn't order this item - but they insisted we did and won't withdraw the item ... reason - it's on your table ... that's it. We were there for Yum Cha, better places elsewhere. I rate the food 2/5 below average. The constant harassment of food carts every 2-3 minutes is so annoying, couldn't get a few sentences there with mates. Atmosphere, probably just take the family. I wouldn't take friends out for a shout - the carpet has an odd grease look/feel - and is sticky.

Came to Favourite Kitchen on a Thursday night for a family dinner gathering. The lobster noodles was our absolute favourite, couldn't have enough of it! Other dishes were good and within expectation. In general, dishes were towards the oily and salty side of the spectrum though. Overall pretty quick service, didn't have to wait too long for the dishes to arrive. Staff members were friendly and helpful. Would consider coming back to try their yumcha menu!

Surprisingly delicious, this is your typical canto cuisine but so insanely value for money!! And boy do you leave with a full belly! Lobster, steamed fish, pipis and Chinese donut, clay pot eggplant, steamed scallops and a cold meats platter. All standard dishes done well, with extra to take home too! The above and beyond part comes from the staff, most restaurants that are authentically Chinese do not care for providing quality service. But Favorite kitchen, staff were hospitable, kind, accommodating, attentive and so careful when serving dishes. I was so impressed with the service!

We came here for a celebration and had the lobster banquet. Check out my photos. The entrée was quite nice, especially the scallops with black beans and garlic. The lobster was cooked nicely. Service is also good. I would recommend this place.

Friends have invited us to this Cantonese Restaurant. It has been our first time coming to this restaurant and the food has been AMAZING The service is thoughtful and polite. What’s more it has plenty spaces for parkings and one huge function room for family meet ups or ceremony purpose. If there is only one dish that I choose and strongly recommend is the Lobsters. The seafood here are all Cantonese style and tasting sooo good! Will definitely come back next time

Had been coming here for years. The last couple of times very very disappointed. Service by one yum cha trolley lady was very rude. Kept ignoring us. Don’t know if it was because we were Caucasian. Have to wonder. Very very expensive and when we questioned it could not understand the billing as all in Chinese. Use to be lovely, not any more . Food was very average

The staff were friendly enough but some didn't speak good English so it was hard to communicate and order. The Gai Lan was overcooked and wilted, but otherwise the dumplings and other courses were fine.

Forgot to take pics of the food but did manage to get a video of the lady scooping up my Tau Foo fah. Food was delicious though a little more expensive, given the upper market style restaurant this is. Would go again to try out more dishes with more people. Note that the hotel is known as Golden Pebble Hotel but the restaurant is Favourite kitchen

Overall pretty good for a Sunday yumcha sesh. Been on the lookout for another yumcha joint out in the burbs and I think we have found it. Food was decent, service relatively quick and it was busy but not so crowded like places like Gold leaf Burwood (which has gone down in quality). Pricing is a bit higher than average but quality overall was not too bad. Spent about $48pp.

Regularly come here with the family on Sundays for yum cha and never disappointed. The staff are nice and always happy to deviate from what they're doing to help you with extra orders. Fast service too. They're a busy place but the service is always fast. We always have a table ready when we book so I recommend booking to avoid having to wait. Food is always delicious and cooked fresh before serving.

Second time there for yum cha. Service is superb and friendly. Food is of good quality. Have to say Shiaolong bun and shiumai is average. Dumplings are fantastic flavour. Salted egg pastry bun is highlight. other dish are good quality.

as a regular foodie of Yum chai , this is most horrible one(for the pure food), especially the basic dimsim -- siu mai which it's not delicious at all ,they even mix it with Canned peas/ forenzen corn , the meat is not fresh at all, I can't taste any prawn , why only use fish or pork ?? sucks

Nice dim sum! I really enjoyed the salted egg buns here and the fried dumplings were phenomenal! Siu mai’s were so juicy. I did find the chee cheong fun a little plain, could use more flavour. Siu mai, Siu Long Bao, BBQ Pork puff, Five Spice Fried Dumpling, Salted Egg Yolk Lava Bun (baked), BBQ pork Chee Cheong Fun, Mango Nectar

The decor is lovely and well looked after... We always go during the week as the weekends can get get very busy... Highly recommended... …

This place has been my go-to for yummy cantonese style dishes during the various lockdowns. We love the Peking duck set that they do. Also, collection timings are always accurate and food is really good. In between lockdowns we have had yumcha here too and would highly recommend that as well.

The food tasted fine, but at least 3 out of the 6 of us that went there ended up getting sick from the food. We went there fairly close to closing time, so I assume we ate some food that was kept warm since the morning, and not fresh.

Very good yum cha foods and services, Good variety and foods and way better than Shark fin or Gold leaf. The salted egg buns come in steam or baked . You would not be disappointed. Easy parking is a plus ………booking essential for weekends and holidays. Overall we are satisfied More

I am going to say I enjoyed and I will return, the service was friendly and efficient. The food was nice as expected and the BYO wine was placed in ice. For a large group there are some great round tables, fun window table. The place had that large Chinese restaurant feel.

  • Binny Hendrix

My new favourite yum cha place! The food was excellent quality, and the service was impeccable. Everyone was super nice and accommodating. The ladies pushing the trolleys were extra friendly which is hard to see at yum cha places. I'll definitely be back! …

Hot and fresh - has all the typical dishes you would expect. Very busy on weekends, so getting a reservation is recommended to avoid disappointment (being turned away once you get to the front of the queue). Don’t risk it, just plan ahead and book, and enjoy!

  • Pedrp 2403

Our experience was average at best - not good value. The price was over $100 for two, and the food was... lacking in flavour (maybe oversteamed). The staff were good. The venue was good. Maybe an earlier start would have provided a better

We try to come at least once a month for Yum Cha friendly and excellent staff . Also they serve a great Yum Cha served from trolleys always interesting to see what is coming by next great favorites on offer More

Really nice traditional yum cha trolley service restaurant. Dishes were hot & tea was mild & refreshing. Ginger prawn dumplings weren't very gingery, but most dishes were flavourful.
