I guess this is my favorite spot right now in Nashville... but that doesn't mean it's amazing. Nashville just... is lame. However, I do respect the vibes here. It's fun and people actually DANCE. To music that is actually... GOOD. Well, decent+. This spot is stylish and reminds me of NYC. There's a dance floor, tables you can pay for, an upper deck for VIP posers, and an outdoor area which is very nice. There used to be a bar outside and inside but Idk if there's still one outside. This place is a bunch of heteros, mostly. But, unlike other spots in Nashville, I'd say it's gay friendly. Although, you won't find a ton, there are some... Good mix of people. General atmosphere is fun. There's usually a huge line on the weekend. It sucks, honestly, but I think it's funny how they try to make it seem exclusive lol. It's cute. I've watched people bribe their way in with like $200. It pays to know the bouncers here, because they'll give you preference and you can skip the line and feel like you're somebody for 5 seconds. My suggestion would be that they should bring people in via the side of the building like they used to and they need to be more fair with getting in. You aren't NYC, LA, or Paris honey and you never will be so stop with the line skipping preferences and general elitism. This place is okay but it's not THAT GREAT. Chill. Focus on playing music that is actually from this decade, improving your bar service, and making the space more fun. Why are people waiting 45 min outside to get in only for giant groups of 10 people cutting line because they know who tf cares? Just stop it. First come, first serve.

I don't write reviews often, but this warranted a review... I recently went to Flamingo Cocktail Club and was told I couldn't enter the club because I was wearing Birkenstocks "because it was a safety issue". I disagree with this, but OK - we live in a free country and they can have weird rules if they want. After I was turned away by the flirty, disrespectful and inappropriate employee, I watched 6 other people with THE SAME SHOES walk by the employee who said I wasn't allowed inside. This wasn't about my shoes, but had something to do with me and I don't appreciate it at all. After calling for the manager, I learned the reason for the no "open toed shoe" policy was to set "a cool vibe" and not a safety issue. Based on these conversations, this "team" needs to get on the same page and treat people with respect. I don't appreciate not being "cool enough" to be part of their "cool vibe". It's safe to say me, my wife and the friends I was with will never be spending a penny here again. It's not a great way to treat customers and it's definitely a great way to lose business.

As a Nashville local, Flamingo used to be my favorite place to go and have a good time with my girlfriends...but not anymore. When we walked up on a casual Friday night in shorts, blouses and sandals, we were turned away because we weren’t dressed in “cocktail attire and dressesd to the nines.” Yes, I understand that Flamingo needed a way to control the crowds due to its increasing popularity, but changing the attire to be discriminatory is unacceptable. Flamingo, this is not the Nashville way and if you think it is, you may want to relocate elsewhere and rethink your business model, value proposition and brand position. Reputation isn’t what you tell the public you are, but rather what people say about you. Well, I think of Flamingo as being a social climber - not welcoming loyal customers and instead rejecting those who have continued to frequent the place and highly recommended it to others. Good luck generating additional revenue and good luck gaining my loyalty.

We have been frequent customers and have always had a great experience until this past Saturday. One of our friends was dressed well, but happened to be wearing Chacos. While waiting in line to get inside, a duo was pulled to go in ahead of us and the man had on some high healed sandals and the girl had on black chacos. Then when it was our turn, our guy friend was told he wouldn’t be allowed inside because of his shoes. I asked her why other people were allowed in with the same shoes and she said, “it’s just our dress code.” I completely understand having a dress code, but it needs to stay consistent. We had friends inside, so we went in to let them know we were leaving since our group member wasn’t allowed in and while inside I saw not only the black chacos but someone wearing Birkenstock’s and several other people wearing sandals. I showed the picture to the girl at the entrance and she told me I had negative energy. Very disappointing experience.

They try to promote this as a high caliber place but it certainly is not. It is basically made of plywood, specifically the kind you use to hang up vines in your backyard. The whole place is lined with that. The floors are completely undone and the bar is something I would put in my backyard. Maybe. Only maybe out of desperation. We got there at 8:00 for our reservation and they said they will have a jazz band. They're jazz band was a group of friends who played one or two songs and then talked about which songs to do next for 40 minutes and then played a couple other songs. People who were there were wearing sweatpants and sweatshirts, although they were very clear about the dress code. What a disappointment. If you're thinking about this for a date night, most definitely do not. We will not waste our money there again that's for sure!

Here I am with my buddies trying to have a good time and as we get to the door, the bouncer lets through 4/5 of my group. My buddy wasn’t allowed to get in because of the “dress code.” My friend was wearing nice khaki shorts, but not a collared shirt. We’re hanging in the outside area and look over at a group of guys in sweatshirts and sweatpants, hanging out no problem. We asked the bouncer why they could get in, but not our friend and we were told they were “singer/songwriters,” but we weren’t told what they wrote or sang. We understand that if you pay a lot of money you get certain privileges, but we’d hope that the bar would hold a certain standard. We had a poor experience and hope no one else does.

Love Flamingo! Such a vibe. The aesthetic of the space is glamorous and regal. Yes yes! The dance floor is where you want to be when the DJ is spinning. Not to mention, they always have banger DJ’s! Jazz nights on Fridays are a must do! The patio is easily one of the best patio’s in Nashville. And the bartender and servers are so much fun. They were making me laugh all night! They do a Studio 54 party night too that is WILD (in the best way possible!) Also, go to The Invite night on Wednesdays if you want to hear local singers and musicians serenade your soul with improvised groovy jams!

Wow...the vibe is definitely off with this place. They really need to do some homework on what they intend to achieve as a ‘tiki bar’ with bland drinks and a dress code. Drink menu lacking anything innovative, empty bar but still had slow service. We were prompted at the door about a ‘dress code’ with no elaboration about what that entailed. Even more shocking since numerous blonde, blue eyed, wafty women had no issue with sneakers and jeans. No worries though we made the cut and settled in. Until this cockroach decided to join us. I really dunno why they are trying to hype up such a mediocre establishment especially amidst other award-winning options in the neighborhood. Bless your heart!

  • Catherine Holt

Flamingo cocktail club decided it was appropriate to turn down the business of me and two other people because we had open toed shoes on. We were looking for a new bar out of the downtown crowd (to avoid CMA fest) to try out and were rudely approached and asked to leave the minute we stepped foot in the bar. We are Nashville natives and our favorite pastime is try new restaurants/bars. With summers approaching almost 100 degrees how do you expect people to not wear sandals in this weather? I will not be back to try this bar and hope you change your policy as this is extremely rude to natives who want an escape from the tourist bars.

  • Eli Gibbons

Interesting experience. First off, the drinks were very good and the service was cocktail bar speed. Really enjoy the seating but after a point the music is too loud to actually talk to anyone around you. I was confused by the enormous open space between the couches and the bar. Spot for dancing maybe? Not sure. If you get here before they turn the music up to 11 it’s very enjoyable. After that...less so. But it is more of a club so to each their own. No problems with the dress code, although I wish there was a more specific explanation. We wore jeans and sneakers, which seemed to be fine. Curious to see where they take this place.

  • Jessi Simon

Was super hype to come here for my birthday. Part of our group was told they could not go inside because they weren’t “swaggy” enough (waitress actually said that term). Then told us we each had to pay $50 to get into the place, then buy table service to stay in the place. After this our group said “why would we do that when we can just go down the road and spend all our money there?” The waitress said “okay then go” so we left. We would’ve paid probably $50 a person anyways in drinks but whatever.... went in to use the restroom and the place was empty anyways. $50 cover charge is pretty crazy and y’all really aren’t that cool

  • Robert Breska

I have been to many upscale cocktail bars and this ain’t it. I have never been turned away due to dress code issues. It’s one of the colder nights in nashville at 27 degrees so I was wearing Uggs with a warm puffer jacket and my husband was in crocodile western boots. We live in nashville and were just looking for a nice date night. Unfortunately, we were turned away at the door due to the “cocktail dress code” by a bouncer who was also dressed in a sweatshirt and beanie. He then proceeded to let in a group of others in sweatshirts and backwards hats with no problem. Straight up haters. Do not waste your money or your time.

  • Emma Cotton

After I waited over thirty minutes in line to get in, I was in line to use the restroom. I ran into an old Nashville friend when suddenly the bartender told me there was no “chatting” in the hallway. I continued on and was escorted out of the bar after I used the restroom. (Of course my male friend was not asked to leave and was allowed to stay). I was asked to leave even on my own birthday when I had been there for over an hour with 8 other friends. I was horribly disappointed with Savannah as a bartender and was grossly disappointed given the amount of options in Nashville. My fiends and I will never return again.

  • Marlena Trees

The rudest service I’ve ever witnessed. Turns people away if they don’t fit their dress code and only make the less “cool” people pay a $25 entrance fee. After paying this, my friends and I weren’t even allowed to take seats in between table sections that weren’t reserved. The manager was so rude and condescending. I’ve been to flamingo just a few months ago and they’ve only introduced these new rules very recently. Don’t waste your time- go to Bastion or Never Never right down the road. It used to be fun but now it’s a waste of money. The drinks also suck.

  • Kelsey Clinton

Tried to visit Saturday night with a group. We were turned away because we were dressed “too casual” by a man wearing a cropped t-shirt and flare leg jeans. When questioned about what outfits would be appropriate, the guy would only say “something less casual” and claimed we weren’t giving enough “Studio 54 vibes.” Also watched him turn away a dozen other people in various outfits. Very odd experience, never been turned away from a bar before. Feel like the people making decisions at Flamingo need to remember they’re in Nashville, TN not Manhattan.

  • Jenni McCray

New Nashville alert. This place is probably where people who complain about NoISe from music venues go to hang out in spandex and complain about trains. Just go to Earnest down the street, owned by locals. I asked the bouncer if my attire fit the "code", he said yes. So we waited... until the lady from Miami decided us locals didn't fit the bill. We were dressed nice, as in nice enough for date night at Once Upon a Time in France (5 ⭐). Whatever. Had a better time with my friends at Earnest. I'd rather salsa @ Ibiza on Nolensville Rd.

  • Derrick Rohl

As a neighbor, I became an early regular. Without warning, a dress code materialized and the door staff's job essentially became to fight the supposed evils that are flip flops. See the many other reviews highlighting this place's obsession with an arbitrary and discriminatory dress code. On the Fusion WeHo website, owners are featured shilling this establishment as a "tiki bar celebrating island vibes." But no flip flops on islands, I guess. Get over yourselves. My money's going to the other businesses that better fit this neighborhood.

  • Travis Hansel

Attempted to enter bar after parking nearby. Was told I was wearing shoes that didn’t fit dress code. Apologized for the the issue and walked away. Was approached by the people behind us in line and was asked why we were turned away. Told them it was a dress code issue due to shoes. They walked up and were let in despite wearing shoes similar to my wife’s. Walked back up to the bouncer and questioned him and was told I was being argumentative and that I needed to leave. Will never spend my money at this establishment again.

  • Cecilia Pitchford

A few months ago a couple of my friends and I tried to get in but was told of the new dress code rules and weren’t allowed to get in. This definitely jaded my feelings towards this bar. The atmosphere is great but to feel all cute with a group of friends and then get told “we don’t look cute enough” is definitely a vibe killer and ruined my experiences with this bar. Will I go back when they host neat events? Probably. But will I also be afraid that I’ll be turned down by the horrible dress code rules? Probably.

  • Caitlin Rice

This place has the potential to be a cool venue, but it wreaks of an overtly pretentious staff and clientele. The music is extremely loud (for the record I am in my twenties), and it seems to be on the edge of an identity crisis whether to be a bar or a dance club, except no one is dancing. The patio space outside is nice, but could use more seating. Also, any place that serves wine from a tap (let alone red wine that is chilled) should not serve wine at all. Overall, just another new yuppie Nashville bar.

  • Jalena Noakes

Don’t waste your time here - WeHo has so many other incredible spots with great vibes & great drinks. Go to Bastion, Earnest, or Never Never. When this place first opened up it was a great hang and very welcoming. As of recent they’ve decided to be very selective with who they let in and are enforcing a “dress code” but they don’t hold everyone to a same standard. They’d rather have an empty dance floor than to let people in who are just looking for a good hang w friends. NOT WORTH YOUR TIME OR BUSINESS!!

  • Liz Orozco

Echoing the other reviews here about the new dress code and how it’s inconsistently enforced at the door. This used to be one of my favorite spots to come and dance. Tonight my friends and I were told we could only be on the back patio because of sandals and ripped jeans. We watched plenty of people walk in and out of the indoor lounge with ripped jeans, short shorts, and sneakers. This place does not make people of color feel welcome and we won’t be coming back.

  • Lisa Lawson

A group of coworkers and I came to visit this bar. It was a weeknight and pretty dead inside however, the staff seemed annoyed to have customers. I wanted to have an early night so I ordered a drink and decided to close out. I was rudely notified that there was a minimum on cards. It seemed strange that a nice bar has card policies I would expect from a local gas station. It’s a beautiful space, but the service leaves much to be desired.

  • Jeddiah Campfield

We use to love this place but what an awful experience it was tonight. My good friend was wearing Chacos, and they wouldn’t let him in. However, there were multiple people wearing the same shoes, and we have photo proof. There were several people wearing sandals. The people working the line were not customer friendly and extremely rude and sexist against others. What a disgusting discriminatory place of business.

  • Dallas Stephens

Absolute FAVORITE bar in Nash. So fun and so different than any other spot. Also the best dance music and it’s great because it’s open late. Regarding dress code, yes you should not look like a slob lol just like if you go to a steakhouse on a Saturday night maybe don’t wear Jean shorts and converse. It’s a cocktail club. Every time I bring my friends here we have a blast. Will always be my #1 choice ♥️

  • Maria Otero

I had an absolute blast here - I actually drank a bit too much and had trouble finding a way to get home on my own. The workers here basically saved my life and made sure I got home safely when I couldn’t remember my address. It’s nice to have people who are looking out for you when things go bad, so major props to everyone here. Shoutout to Shae and everyone else who helped me out!

  • M M

Just awful. Discriminatory for clothing and appearance and literally make customers feel bad about themselves. I understand if a place enforces a dress code but there’s no reason to make others feel terrible while shunning them away or making them pay a cover fee because they aren’t “cool” enough for a dam bar in Nashville. Y’all are not above anyone. Humble up.

  • Stephen Dahl

Showed up, our whole group looked a hell of a lot better than anyone there. “Manager” roasted all my friends at the door saying we need to “step it up and try a little harder with our outfits. Only to enter the “club” at MAYBE 50% capacity with dudes wearing golf tee’s and backward caps. This place used to be the hang in 2018. Absolute garbage place now.

At first, I loved this bar. But then I heard stories of Flamingo admitting men and women under different standards. I always thought of this place as an LGBT friendly and inclusive space. I was also recently turned away for my attire due to my Birkenstocks along with my boyfriend and another couple. If I could could leave zero stars I would.

  • Holden Carrell

We had a sever named Kayla. She said she was new and had no idea because she served us like a pro! The sweetest girl and so attentive and truly connected with the guest that were here. Get this girl a raise!! We love it here because of her and will be back very soon. Kayla is EVERYTHING!

they pulled me and my friend aside specifically to berate us about a "cocktail attire only" despite the people they let in in front of us being in t shirts and cargo shorts. of all the people we saw there no one, including the woman at the door chastising us, met the definition of cocktail attire. felt gross, judgmental, and profiley.

  • Dan Bernstein

Flamingo is a bar so exclusive nobody wants to go. There are two velvet ropes to enter an empty room. Then, in a gigantic crowd of 10 or so total patrons, I sat down at an empty uncontested table. I was quickly informed the table was reserved. (For nobody?) Flamingo isnt awful, but there are better places within a quarter mile.

  • Rodger Swedenburg

We were a bit worried to wear jeans (new) with all the reviews turning people away for subjective dress code violations, even for a wednesday night. Turned out to be a non issue. Band was great, loved hearing all the young artists get up and show their talents. Drinks were really good. Could benefit from a small food menu.

  • Kristen Parke

One of my go-to bars in Nashville! Elegant interior with a disco ball, and a large, laid back patio outside. The High Tide is my favorite drink - gin, lemon, lavender, and blue majik. The DJs usually play a great mix of current hits and crowd pleasing throwbacks, and the dance floor on the weekend (after 10 pm) is lit.

  • Allison Hopkins

I love coming to dance here! It’s spacious on the inside with a long bar so you’re rarely fighting your way in to get a drink. Huge patio with tons of seating on the backside, which is amazing for winter and summer alike. Good DJs, great drinks, coat-check upon entry. For Nashville, this is a one-of-a-kind spot!

  • Katie Smith

The first time I visited Flamengo the DJ was great and the bartenders were quick, the 4 times I’ve gone since have been a disappointment. The music has been terrible, the bartenders have been slow, and the woman who handles the front door is patronizing. I’m disappointed and no longer recommend it.

  • Kelly Heyen

Love the cocktails (the mezcal drink that is currently on the menu just might be my favorite cocktail of all time). The way the space is designed is really cool, and they have a great patio! Plus, one of the best places you can go out dancing on the weekends if you don’t want to go near downtown.

  • Ben Hoback

“Laid-back bar…” not so much. See other recent reviews for particulars but suffice it to say they’re lacking on hospitality. Some of the staff were visibly uncomfortable having to act as mouthpiece and gatekeep for the misguided, pretentious weenie in the back office. Not very Nashville of them.

  • Colton Robertson

Terrible service. I left my tab open by accident and woke up the next morning to a $300+ charge to my AMEX. The bartender definitely took advantage and left himself a hefty tip.. 0/10 would not recommend this place to any locals in Nashville or Wedgewood Houston. Servers and Security were rude

  • Ash U

Lots of fun, went to this place on a Wednesday and the live music was a blast, drink servers were attentive, and the overall aesthetic was super cool. I didn't even know this place existed, saw a bunch of people walking into an alley with good music and decided to follow lol. Worth it!

  • Tara Allen 51

Considered a Speakeasy in Nashville, this cocktail spot is located in the back of Falcon Coffee, where you can either enjoy a drink inside or head outside to the back patio. The Disco ball, lights, music, and drinks create a nice social vibe for a date or night out with friends.

  • Hailey Schmitt

Absolutely garbage place and very sexist me and my friends were dressed nicer than their workers I have never had an issue getting in before being dressed half naked. That will get me in though. Absolute worst spot to be in Nashville spend your money else where not worth it.

  • Chelsea Hall

If you ever want to be treated like a dog by an entire staff go here. I got charged $20 for a drink that was half that. The bar tender and waitress were both extremely rude. I will never come back here and have never had a bar experience worse than this in Nashville

  • Andrey Tyshchenko

Very cozy place. We went there on a weekend morning. The coffee was great, the food is really nice. But the real pleasant surprise was their turmeric chai, or smth. Real creamy, not too sweet and very unusual. The staff was nice and knowledgeable. Will come back.

  • Charlie Sutton

Have tried to go twice now and been rejected for "dress code" on arbitrary nights. This time it was "cocktail night" and we weren't dressed fancy enough. Spend your money elsewhere. This place isn't even worth the cost of the Uber to see if you'll be allowed in.

  • andre richardson

... I would love to tell you what we thought about the 'after hours' side of Flamingo Cocktail Club; however, I assume - insert employee name here - possibly called in ... causing a 7PM opening time to become 7:30PM so, we didn't stick around. Strike Two.

  • Queenie Lux

Went here for cocktails after work! The inside lounge was so cool. Loved all the fresh plants and couches. The cocktails - WOW. My husband and I were very impressed by the bartender and the cocktails he created. Can’t wait to go back for a happy hour!

  • Haleigh Sullivan

Hosted a private party here and couldn’t have had a better time! Staff is super friendly and attentive and the craft cocktails and food were both wonderful. So accommodating with our party, great music & the perfect space for having a wonderful time!

Second the reviews mentioning dress code rules. On top of them being too much they also seem at the discretion of the bouncer. I could see people inside wearing the same casual style clothes I was. Pretty sour taste in my mouth after that.

  • Moochocolate Dark

Drinks were a bit sugary sweet. Service was great! The bouncer had a good attitude. The DJ was not able to deliver. On a Saturday night I expect a solid playlist and a DJ that can get a read on a crowd. Yikes. No decent dancefloor vibes.

  • stuart murphy

Fun vibe after 10pm. Lots of dancing, great music. Cocktails and drinks run a bit on the pricey side. My only real complaint is that I wish there was a way to get songs played by the DJ. I get it. But still itd be nice just as an option!

  • Matthew Dunavant

The quality of the food is top notch. The coffee is some of the best I've had in all of Nashville. The vibe is great with all the plant life and soft coloring. I've found a new favorite spot to grab lunch. The French Dip is excellent!

  • Heaven Weaver

terrible experience. would not allow us in because our sandals did not have ankle straps. extremely discriminatory and rude bouncer. this place is not even classy enough to enforce such a strict dress code. do not waste your time.

  • Jon Martin

Read any other (non-purchased) comment from the last few months to get the idea. Came a few years ago and it was fun, but the pretentiousness knob got turned up to 11 since then. Bastion or Never Never are a better experience.

  • Shelby

This bar is very nice. I love the whole vibe of it. Very laid back, the back patio is the best. Lots of seating around the edges of the room and patio. Bartenders make the drinks just right, I recommend this place to everyone

  • YoungMadDogg

Absolute trash. Wouldn’t let us in due to some absurd dress code rules. We had zero issue getting in anywhere else (more upscale) down the street. The manager, who was wearing a bikini top, also likes to talk down to people.

  • Joel Simon

So much good music! I liked the drinks and the bartenders/ cocktail waitresses were super nice, but I'll come back for the music. My Go-to Wednesday night! Jazz trio on fridays is the way to start the weekend. …

  • Kenneth Chessman

Been to the “Falcon” side and it is honestly some of the best coffee you can get in Nashville. And they have a bottomless cup of coffee, which is a plus in my eyes. Haven’t had any of the food yet but it looks really good.

Hip hop and Latin hip hop depending on the DJ. Get there before 9 to beat the line. It’s inside the closed coffeehouse. By 10:30 the place starts to get packed and all seating becomes reserved.

Good atmosphere: plants, lights. Always nice staff! Drinks are very pricey Nashville and it's always too loud inside for how small the place is.
