Worst experience I’ve ever had. My usual dentist was unavailable at the moment and I have decided to give Flatlands Dental care a try. But to my surprise, my experience did not match what I’ve read online. I’ll elaborate. I was greeted with an unwelcoming attitude from the receptionist. Promised not to mention ethnicity. She was disturbingly rude. I should have followed my instincts and not proceeded but I did. My dentist Anastasia. Was was rough and as she entered my mouth. Her speed was as if Thor was wielding his hammer in my mouth for just a simple cleaning. I’ve asked her to be just a bit gentle and I understand that you are trying to see as much clients as possible. However, that was the biggest mistake that I have made. She became extremely more insanely rude and very disrespectful in an unprofessional way. All because she was trying to sell me a deep cleaning which would have cost. Thousands of dollars to which I don’t need. Because I was only there for a normal cleaning. Besides little did she knew. It was only because of circumstances beyond my control my presence brought me to that office. Never again. So now. Dentist. After your cleaning I could send to your insurance a request for a deep cleaning. Me. And why would I need a deep cleaning? Dentist. Well if you can’t stand the cleaning I am doing. A deep cleaning will be better. Me. If you are this rough in my mouth now. Also overtaking me when I am trying express my needs and how I feel. Why would I allow you to deep clean my tooth when it’s not needed and your behavior is highly unprofessional? Dentist. It might be better. Me. And what will that cost be? Little did she knew I understood that she was trying to hustle my insurance. Her reply. $2500 or so Me . Or so sound like much more but I kindly declined and informed her. Let’s just finish my cleaning please and that will be all. Dentist. I’ll write report that you declined deep cleaning and add it to your insurance file. Trying to scare me into her plan. Me. Thinking in my head. First and last time as it will be for a moment. Now the dentist rushed me out of the chair with her work half done and as I was about to call the BBB she called me back and then completed it as she was prior to her behavior. In conclusion. Read reviews good and bad before you go to pay for someone service. Ask important key questions about prices as I have so you will not get hustled. They think that everyone in this area of Brooklyn don’t use their brains otherwise they would have been in Manhattan with the thinkers whom they can’t take advantage of. Just saying. Guys be safe and don’t get taken advantage of. She was trying to push deep cleaning to bill me and my insurance for an outrageous difference or whole of $$$$ -( AMT) if you fall into her trap. And to that dentists. Thanks for chipping my tooth with your unprofessionalism. I should consider getting legal advice about what you did to my tooth. As my dental x-ray would show my before pictures with no chip or crake on my tooth. Unbelievable.. Unbelievable, horrible, worst experience ever. For the record proof that the owner of this place is in with the scam. Everything he wrote is a lie to cover up his scams they do. You will be receiving notice from my lawyer and it’s a good thing that I took my lawyer advice and got a next tooth x-ray for evidence. Good luck proving your lies. Toot cleaning turns to fabricated bone loss and gum disease. I’ll add defamation of character to that. Stay away for this place if you value your health in my opinion. The owner is in on the DEEP CLEANING SCAM THAT HE AND Anesthesia is running.

Front desk *girls* will knowingly give you false prices from your insurance without getting updated numbers from the insurance website. They also tried charging me for three surfaces when they only filled one surface on my molar. I had to spot it and ask the front desk girl to confirm with the dentist twice before she stopped rolling her eyes and went to the back to confirm. They’re the type that talk all nice with a passive aggressive attitude underneath- terrible diction and zero professionalism. Also, Dr. Zak won’t do simple extractions or front teeth root canals (alone with whatever else) because it’s “just something she’s been doing” and they refer you to a specialist instead. What is the point of becoming a dentist if you won’t perform root canals or extractions? They give you an appointment and you end up waiting 1.5-2 hours EVERY SINGLE TIME. My last visit I waited 1.5 hours to be seen just for her to look at my mouth and tell me I need two fillings but she’s not doing any of them today because she doesn’t have time LOL I had to put my foot down and demand some type of progress for the time I made available to be there! Finally, she agreed. I like Dr. Zak, but it’s not worth all the BS and princess drama. They need to replace everyone except for the dental assistant; they’re in desperate need of mature front desk personnel that don’t look and act like children who hate their life, themselves, and their job. Bonus, the ceiling is falling apart in the waiting room and everything in there is dirty, dingy, old, and dark.

If I could give this place a zero I would. I made an appointment for 10:30am & I watched 3 people get serviced before myself. By the time I got seated into the chair the lady took my x-Ray and I proceeded to wait again. By now it’s an hour in a half pass by appointment schedule and I decided to leave. The front desk has no organization of their system. They put me for 11am but my phone sent me a text message stating my appointment was for 10:30am. Someone also called me the day before to confirm the time for 10:30am and I still never got serviced at the correct time. Please do better! & To the comment you had the audacity to make you couldn’t solve the issue right in front of me. You took my phone out of my hand to understand your own system that makes absolutely no sense. Yet alone you guys serviced someone else before me and their appointment was for 11am. Find a better system because I’m completely turned off by my experience here. This is not the first time this has happened!

I’ve been going here for years and it is normally a great experience but I guess they’re under new management and with the several new employees that they have, it was pretty bad. I was running late so I called beforehand to let them know and they told me it was fine. I get there and had to wait a little over an hour to see someone. When I finally got in I noticed that the atmosphere was a little unpleasant. I felt a little uncomfortable. The workers in the back are also pretty rude. I had to ask for a worker to repeat herself and she blatantly rolled her eyes at me. When she informed me that I did something incorrectly, she laughed out loud in a very condescending manner for almost 15 seconds before telling me that it was fine. (Clearly it wasn’t but the laugh wasn’t necessary). Overall, it was pretty bad. I gave two stars only because one of the receptionists is someone I recognized and one of the only people that weren’t rude to other patients.

I’ve been coming here for years and this the first time I got someone who wasn’t personable. When I was called I came in said hi the girl didn’t say anything. Although I’m bad at names, she didn’t even say hi I’m so and so and I’ll be taking care of you. I then sat down the most she said was bite. It’s for the device when you’re doing the xray. When I moved my head I saw her scrubs were dirty and if not dirty stained from whatever. That’s not a good look you’re putting things in my mouth. It just wasn’t a good look at all. She then walked away didn’t say have a nice day, the hygienist will be with you shortly, or nothing. For Terence she had a really long weave and light pink scrubs on. My hygienist and the doctor are always nice and speak. I will say if the technician doesn’t to work with people she should find a new job. I will say the ladies my son saw were very nice a Spanish and black woman. They asked how was his day and were really sweet.

I brought in my 4 year old son for an emergency. He was in pain for a cavity. I was told by the front desk they would fix it when I brought him in. Dr. Olga said laughing gas may not work on him since he’s under 5 (another pediatric dentist thought that statement was laughable) and she may need to sedate him. She then said she couldn’t fix it today because of next appointments. When I explained my 4 year old cannot eat and is in pain she continued to tell me I was lying and that is probably not true. I offered for her to come over and feed my son a meal and see for herself. She then changed and said if laughing gas doesn’t work he needs to go to a hospital to be sedated. Now I cannot find a dentist to treat my child because they wasted my insurance for the next 6 months. Horrible people. Do not uphold their oath. Oh and in the bathroom there is a big sticky for mice to get trapped on. It is not hidden. They must be infested.

This is the worst I repeat WORSE. I wouldn’t even give this place 1 star. The dentist/hygienist in this place are the worst ever. The receptionists are rude the hygienist doesn’t wanna do her job the management is OK with no one doing their job nor does the management(some guy name Philips) listen to the complaints of the customers. They canceled my appointment because I told him I wasn’t satisfied with the cleaning they did last time instead of doing better they told me I’m no longer accepted to come to their place of business cause I told him I was gonna take pictures before and after the job is done. Some lady name Kim said do not come in the day before my appointment. Dr. Oksana Zak, DDS Dr. Henry Feldman, DDS Dr. Michael Esses, DDS Dr. Olga Ferdman, DDS I’ve spoken to Claims department and made a complaint because this place needs to be closed down immediately. ASAP

In all the experience was fear. The main issue that concern me is the loudness of the front office staff in asking the guest for personal information. Sitting in the waiting room I was able to over hear people giving their personal information such as social security numbers and dates of birth clearly. The front office staff and some doctors were over head speaking about the patient care through the front glass, which I thought was wrong. In terms of the staffing in the back, I really did not understand the need for the amount of X-rays needed for a simple cleaning but I allowed it as this is not my profession and I left it to the professional to make the decision. In terms of my cleaning, the dentist did an awesome job and it was pain free. Would I visit again probably but would not be sharing my information through that glass in the small lobby for everyone to hear.

Horrible! There was one African African lady who made me feel comfortable as I explained I have a phobia of the dentist. I have anxiety. She was so sweet. The dentist came in and I explained to him I’m not a fan of the dentist, I am very afraid. He didn’t take that into consideration at all. Gave me a very rough cleaning. Water everywhere. As the assistant was taking the bib off of me he’s shouting for me to turn around and look at my X-rays on the screen. “Turn around! Turn around! Turn around!” The lady is still unclamping me. Are you serious? Can you give me a second? Before I could gather myself he snapped and said “Miss are you interested or not?!” with the nastiest attitude ever. Made a hurtful remark about my teeth which I won’t repeat. I’m never going back there and I don’t recommend. Name on my referral says “Boris”

Thoroughly displeased in my experience with this dentist practice. The service is not good and makes me wonder if the staff is even licensed. The women in the front desk are unprofessional especially the white girl who has a nasty attitude every time I visit and is always rude to me when I call in. She refused to tell me her name when I asked for it on the phone after she disrespected me. There is no order in this facility and plenty of room for improvement. I came in for a teeth cleaning and my teeth is not clean at all. I requested that they redo it properly even if I have to pay out of pocket, but instead the woman hung up on me and when I called back numerous times after, she sent me to voicemail purposely. I highly DO NOT RECOMMEND coming here and encourage you to vet a more professional and serious dentist office.

In loss of words for the incredible service this office provides for me and my family. I love the convenience of having my general dentist , and my orthodontists at the same office . Also, my kids see the pediatric dentist , which they are in love with. Such a friendly environment! Stepping through the door you’re greeted by the front desk who take care of all of my concerns. A few minutes later the assistant sits you down into a squeaky clean operatory. Always so caring , leaving us with a smile every time. The Doctors there are remarkable , the amount of care and patients they have is unreal. Plus they give great goodie bags, and toys for my kids for good behavior. I love them , my kids love them , you will too ! I would definitely recommend , you’ll never regret it .

This is putting it mildly! I have been going to Flatlands Dental for many years. In fact my entire family attends this establishment. It is truly a God sent. The staff is great. The Dentists are gifted and true to their calling to serve the public in dentistry. The facility is immaculate with state-of-the-art equipment. They have expanded to accommodate the pediatric population; so kiddy and adolescent friendly and inviting - cute! Really cute! Believe me when I tell you this. The inside far outweighs its outside appearance. The workers friendliness and helpfulness further compliment this. I have had no need to look elsewhere. It will continue to be my family home dentistry. Thank you Flatlands Dentistry and it’s family staff. JA

Was my first visit I was very nervous and one of the staff members probably picked up on it and she started singing baby calm down she had no idea how much that helped me, until today when I mentioned it to her lol she had no clue she were singing that particular song at the right time, I had a really great experience there the dentist was very professional she made me feel really comfortable and she always compliments me on my ensembles. she's great, and easy going, she answered all of my questions..the staff up front is wonderful as well, I will always go back there no doubt about it, I left there today with a big Bright smile!! This is the 2nd time ive brought my son to this practice and they tried to have a dental assistant clean his teeth. It is 100% unprofessional and illegal. Its so sad they have the front desk thinking a childs teeth only needs to be polished … better training recommended. The first time i complained and they had a dentist clean his teeth for 10 minutes … again unprofessional. Im never bringing my child here again. the minute i saw it wasnt an individual operatory (HIPPA violation) i refused to allow them to touch my childs teeth. Also, very unprofessional you cannot think it is okay to go into a childs mouth and not at least introduce yourself to the parents.

DO NOT GO THERE!!!!!.....The workers here are extremely unprofessional and rude from the receptionist to the office manager. I was warned about this office but i needed to have work done urgently and all of the really good dentist were all booked. They have no concern or value for ones time. You will sit there for at least 2 hours, so bring your lunch and perhaps your dinner too. On top of their lack of professionalism the quality of work is horrible and tacky as well as extremely painful. I don’t ever write reviews but in this case i had to, i hope this is helpful to whomever is considering this office. Go else where!! Don’t waste your time

Unfortunately, I did not get a chance for my son to be serviced by the dentist at this office but that was a blessing in disguise. The Russian speaking receptionist was soooo rude and unprofessional that I was truly appalled. She wouldn't verify my coverage on her computer nor call the company, stating that I had to do it. And now reading all these negative reviews, I'm relieved that my son won't have to say he had been traumatized by an ill experience. I suggest that the owner of this office revamp the individuals working in this establishment cause you're loosing credibility fast. Disgusting!!!

Took our almost 3 yo son there for his first dental visit. Loved the experience. Theres a free parking lot in the front, separate child friendly waiting area from adults. Wait time to be seen was very short. Our son startes crying as soon as we walked to the back, however the dentist and dental hygienist were awesome! They showed/let him touch the tools, gave him words of encouragement and soon enough all went well. The office was painted with animals, tvs at each station and had stuffed animals to hold. Overall our visit took less than 20 minutes from start to finish. Highly recommend!

DON'T GO THERE! When we got there for my daughter's appointment they said the doctor had just left and that the receptionist was trying to call me all day. Yes, I saw the calls and returned them back twice and confirmed my appointment for the day twice with two different people, they never mentioned any cancellation. They can't say they didn't reach me out. Tried to offer me a different day but I won't come back. I can't leave my work early again, not to mention that I'm 30 weeks pregnant plus the train and the three buses we took to get there. They are hilarious.

This place has no concern and care for people time or just in general. Going there is just a waste of time. You wonder if it has to do with the fact that they are mainly providing services in a black neighborhood. Front desk is rude, unorganized, uncoordinated and VERY unprofessional. During Covid 19... they had more that 10 people at once in a tight place until customers started showing their concerns. I will highly advise people to find a more suitable dentist that is not only care for their insurance money but for their well being and health as well.

Hated my service there so bad that I would never ever go back or recommend! The dentist and her assistant made me feel so uncomfortable! The dentist was very rough with my teeth and and rushed through it as to why it hurt because I've gotten my teeth cleaned before and it never felt like that! None of the staff were welcoming at all then the assistances started having conversations about their periods, I wanted to vomit! I beg you everyone please don't ever go to this place. Bad experience!

Office is disorganized. Insurance is verified after you sit for an hour after your scheduled appointment. Then your told you are not covered. The Russian lady at the desk didn't want to contact the insurance company. She asked me to contact them and call her back. I don't know why she's still there. She is not helpful, she sits in a morbid state and obviously doesn't like her job. I lost a day of work and Flatlands lost a customer due to her failure to reach out to the insurance company.

I had an excellent experience at Flatlands Dental Care! The staff was friendly and professional, making me feel at ease throughout my visit. The worst experience ever, Front desk makes bad time appointments when doctor can not treat the patient with anything, apparently the treatment can be done only at daytime, but they make appointments later just to screw you and get money from your insurance. The doctor does not explain the procedure expecting we should know the terminology and after all they tell you I need to pay for something I have not been told before. The manager does not help also and sent care about the patients.

Was one of the best cleanings I had. Staff were personable. The Dentist introduced himself . Explained what he saw on his assessments and what he was going to do. At the end of the cleaning the dentist explained what would happen next. I noticed that the dental assistants did not introduce themselves. I had to ask who they were. No ID on uniform. Place was comfortable and clean. Didn’t observe any infection control violations. Thank you for your patient centered service.

Dr.Sharma (not sure if spelled correctly) always gets the job done and so sweet and inviting. My son had a loose tooth with a cap and it was cutting to his gums, I called at 11:30 and was given a 12pm appointment for an extraction. I was pleasantly surprised and impressed and the new kids extension that is beautifully decorated. The procedure was painless and my son feels so much better and is looking forward to his next visit, thanks doc!

I don’t know if you guys are under new management but the front desk staff are terrible. My experience from trying to make my appointment to my actual visit yesterday was not good. They may be new but there needs to be Atleast one person there who knows how to navigate the system and tend to waiting patients. I’ve been going to Flatlands dental for years and I appreciate good customer service but that was not it. Please fix it.

i Came With My Two Kids! it was my appointment, Usually My Daughter never cries but they as so patient. Even With My Teeth, i had allot of build up, and they even said they gonna do everything to save my tooth, i got two tooth pulled from other dentist who couldnt save my back tooth! so i confidently hope they willing to help & fix whats been my insecurities my whole life. excited for my next dentist appointment.

Rude, inattentive and clearly lazy receptionist was too busy to answer 2 questions when I came in yesterday. This is my sons dentist who is 13, and I had a quick question about about potentially coming myself. The bird at the front desk couldn’t be bothered. This is why I go to Gramercy Park Dental- proper service! If you don’t want to do your job which includes customer service find a different one.

Love Dr. Zak. will tell all my friends to go to this dentist. She was the best. Did not feel a thing getting a root canal done so we did two today. Next Tuesday I get the crowns. I had previously had a bad experiece with another dr. back in the day where he did not kill the nerve and I had to suffer the week end . So initially I was scared of a repeat. No worries Thank Goodness I give her 10☆ 's

First time coming here and I absolutely enjoyed my visit. Front desk was very kind and helpful. In my visit I felt comfortable and I was attended to quickly. I had a great cleaning done by one of their amazing hygienist which was by far the best cleaning I have ever had! The staff is overall very clean, very professional and you will definitely be taken care of. Thank you Flatlands Dental Care!

It’s a game changer! Work ethics! Looks clean and comfortable. I had an appointment fo me and my 19 month old son and even that didn’t make it complicated! We are greatly taken care of. Oksana Zak is a super nice , professional. Unlike most doctors, she wouldn’t recommend you do stuff which you actually don’t need. And we definitely gonna stick to this office. Next time gonna take some pictures

I gave it two start because the man who took my X-rays was very nice. I don’t remember the name of the doctor but it was not a pleasant experience. It felt like a factory because he was cold and yes, quickness is convenient but not when you tell me I need something without explaining why. My experience did not feel welcoming at all. I also mentioned cavities and they were not looked into.

This was my first visit to Flatlands Dental. Everyone from the front desk to the technicians the hygienist and dentist were all friendly efficient helpful courteous and professional. I wouldn’t hesitate to go back to them in the future and I’d recommend them to anyone needing dental care. The office is clean and very comfortable from the waiting area to the actual interior exam spaces

I was very happy with our first visit, very fast service and very polite and caring staff. My son was comfortable and exited after seeing the cute little tooth chairs. Thank you for being so kind and caring!! I really appreciate that. Most places we attend are always rude and unprofessional and just uncomfortable. I am so grateful for this place! 5stars indeed. I will be coming back!

First time there, the environment is very fast pace, but the staff was very polite and professional, the Dentist Boris was very nice as well. I do wish however that the dental staff would have provided more education on dental practices and oral health but I understand that the pace of the environment is really to get as many people in and out. I might revisit them who knows.

The office manager(male, big, burly and balding)very rude and intimidating to women. The dentist was just as rude and service was very poor. While performing my root canal she stopped and went to another patient. The wait time is always 1 hour or more. However the front desk receptionist Sue is an absolute doll. I would not recommend this place for your pets.

This was my 1st visit with this dentist office and it was a great experience. Very clean, staff was great, respectful and professional. The dentist was knowledgeable and respectful and my wait time was fast. The best thing I loved was while I was waiting for the dentist, I had the opportunity to watch television. MY OVERALL EXPERIENCE WAS EXCELLENT!!!

Do NOT go there !!! The owner Felix is rude AF! I missed my appointment due to a death in the family and he called me 7:15pm (after hours) and yelled at me telling me how crucial it is to be an appointment and I should’ve called even after I explained what happened. Very insensitive, raised his voice at me & hung up on me. Highly DO NOT recommend!!!

The children dentistry was really good the team was very informative . My son had a great time . The adult dentistry is horrible , the dentist doesn’t inform you of what’s going on step by step. The staff is confused being the culture is Russian and the men don’t have any manners for the woman. I wouldn’t recommend this place unless you’re Russian.

I went to Flatlands Dental for the very first time for a dental procedure, the staff was very cordial. More importantly, I was pleased with the quality of service I received and impressed with the Hygienist. She was awesome and the Dentist is an expert in his field. You get quick appointment and conveniently located. I highly recommend them. Jean

Amazing place. For everyone in the family. My daughter was scared and insecure but her dentist made her feel safe and the staff are awesome it was my first time there well worth it. My son loved the fact that someone did something to help him. Unlike other places that don’t do anything. Made myself an appt because of there service.

Shut this business down, they are none deserving of this business, the receptionist that are not helpful will ruin business for these people. I stand strong on this. CHANGE THE AFRICAN AMERICAN/CARIBBEAN RECEPTIONIST & manager. They should’ve been very helpful that’s the job they chose! If I can give this a ZERO I would.

It was my 3 year old sons first dentist appointment and I’m super glad we went to Flatlands Dental Care. The dental office was welcoming and the staff were professional and friendly. The dentist is super sweet, she asked questions and gave tips. The office is jungle themed, my son loved it. In and out in 20-25 minutes.

Front desk person was very helpful and nice but had to wait for a doctor for 1 h and 40 minutes. Then she was rushing in between the patients and did not have time to wait until the tooth is numb and really did not treat my daughter like other prdiatric dentists. Did not try to calm her down. Not good experience.

I made an emergency appointment and thankfully they were able to squeeze me in right away. The front desk staff was so pleasant, I was seen very fast. The hygienist did an immaculate job and they made a thorough plan of care to further address all issues. Will definitely be back to continue treatment!

I had an appointment at 1:00pm. I left at 2:00pm without being called. The staff have a nasty attitude. The waiting room is very small (capacity for only six people.) Patients are being forced to stand up inside this very crowded place. no social distancing and no hand sanitizers for patients.

This is one of the worst dental offices that there is. They take advantage of the older generation. This office will try and force procedures that isn't recommended by your medical physician. Please don't pay this office in advance. They will never refund money that you are entitled too.

Definitely changing my dentist…. I’m in more pain from when I came in because Dr.Roberts decided to poke around my teeth with a Sickle probe which I understand it was to check for issues, but when i stated I was in pain he kept poking around. Now I can only eat on one side !

This is my first time here. And I was very happy to visit this place. Thanks to Elena for been nice and informative, to Irina for cleaning my teeth without much pain and giving me advice how to keep my teeth white and hope to see doctor Anastasia for root canal next time.

The service was prompt and efficient. All of the persons that attended to me were exceptional. The young lady that cleaned my teeth was super amazing. It's the fist time cleaning my teeth without experiencing pain and much discomfort. Thanks for an excellent experience

Great! Fast service, My kids were new to the office. The receptionist staff assisted with new patient intake. Dental hygenist are very nice. They were also accommodating. My appointment was for the following week. I got put into the same day schedule with no issues.

Too much paperwork to sign when you first get there. But I was taken within five minutes. The technicians were very friendly and proficient at what they did. I just went for x rays cleaning and check up. Everything was okay and I was in and out within half an hour.

I was very dissatisfied with my services I received today from Dr Boris. This was my first time being seen by him. The establishment is great other than Dr Boris. He did not thoroughly clean my teeth and it was performed in under 4 minutes.
