⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5-Star Review for Flinders Street Station ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Flinders Street Station is an iconic landmark that embodies the heart and soul of Melbourne. As a frequent traveler to this vibrant city, I can confidently say that this station stands out as a testament to its rich history and modern functionality. First and foremost, the architecture of Flinders Street Station is simply breathtaking. The grand façade and stunning dome are a sight to behold, making it an instant favorite among photographers and tourists alike. The intricate details and the blending of old-world charm with contemporary elements create an enchanting ambiance that sets it apart from any other transportation hub. Inside, the station is a bustling hive of activity, yet it maintains a sense of order and efficiency. The train services are well-organized, and the digital signage and information displays make it easy for both locals and visitors to navigate their way around the various platforms. The cleanliness and maintenance are top-notch, which is essential for such a busy location. One of the highlights of Flinders Street Station is the vibrant atmosphere that surrounds it. The surrounding area is always buzzing with life, thanks to the many street performers, cafes, and shops nearby. It's a great place to start your Melbourne exploration, as it provides easy access to many of the city's major attractions. Moreover, the station's central location makes it a convenient meeting point for friends and family. Whether you're arriving in Melbourne or bidding farewell to loved ones, Flinders Street Station is a sentimental and symbolic location that brings people together. The staff at Flinders Street Station are praiseworthy as well. From the friendly customer service representatives to the vigilant security personnel, everyone is dedicated to ensuring a safe and pleasant experience for all commuters and visitors. Lastly, Flinders Street Station holds a special place in the hearts of Melburnians, as it has witnessed countless memorable moments and historic events throughout the years. It represents a connection to the past while embracing the future, making it a living testament to Melbourne's ongoing growth and evolution. In conclusion, Flinders Street Station deserves every one of its five stars. With its awe-inspiring architecture, efficient transportation services, lively surroundings, and friendly staff, it encapsulates the essence of Melbourne's charm. Whether you're a traveler passing through or a local resident, a visit to Flinders Street Station is an absolute must.
To use this station you will require Myki or Vline ticket; both tickets are available under the corner ‘clocks’ via the ticket selling booths which are constantly manned. This venue is a common meeting place “Under the Clocks @ Flinders Steet” (Corner of Swanston and Flinders Street). An Historic Melbourne Railway Station, with full ammenities, including full time staff, wheelchair and lift access, free toilets, Vline and Myki ticketing, many take away food stalls, newsagent, and pharmacy. Eating is allowed on station platforms and bins are provided. Seating is limited on platforms but the mezzanine platform has extra seating around the food outlets. Access to Melbourne City Loop (this station is one of the City Loop stations). An internal Police station is staffed by Police and this station is used as a PSO (Protective Services Officer) training venue, so you will notice PSO’s patrolling the platforms. Times of trains arrival and departure is clearly displayed on overhead screens and a summary of next departure to other city loop stations is accurately updated. If you require further information there is plenty of helpful staff and a Information booth centrally located on the Mezzanine level. The station is kept very clean and well maintained for such an active and busy venue.
I have a non-sexual romantic relationship with the Alstom X'Trapolis 78M train on platform 14. Yes, in this famous architectural landmark, I have a non-sexual romantic relationship with Alstom X'Trapolis 78M on platform 14. Not in the traditional sense, but in an appreciation for its public friendly design and it's pure mechanical prowess. Hear me out, you can pay what 20 bucks for a ride at Lunar park for a single ride. But if really want true Melburnian entertainment, then get on X'Trapolis at Werribee and ride it all the way to Frankston. Not only will the spring suspension give you more entertainment than any rollercoaster in this godforsaken continent, but you'll even get a free scoliosis diagnosis after a few trips. I wish could ride it every day, to feel the dusty, probably urine stained seats beneath me, all whilst hearing the wonderful sound of tormented souls when said train turns any corner on the rails. So, whether you are visiting Melbourne for the first time, or are daily commuter this is the single most important thing to do. Go find the station announcer nearby and ask about the Alstom X'Trapolis 78M train on platform 14 and you will receive a Lord of the Fries voucher for a 250ml tub of mayonnaise. Hope this helps!
This station is the primary metropolitan Melbourne train station, with all lines departing this station. It also has a few regional lines departing, such as Traralgon, so double-check if you are travelling regional (most regional depart Southern Cross). Again, when you arrive at Flinders street station, use the many platform information screens to determine the correct platform for you, as there are often changes. In terms of facilities, there are lifts and entrances for the wheel chair bound, toilets, a pharmacy and numerous cafe - takeaways. Fortunately this have improved from 'the good old days' where the platform vendors served any food you liked so long as it was fried. Bewarned, the vending machine prices ($4.50 for a Coke) do not include gold plating. Overall a good functional station. EMBARRASSINGLY, neither brand of state government has the competence to build the international prize winning design for the station. Typical governments, hold a competition to redesign the station, award a prize, and do nothing! If this review has been helpful / informative, please give it a like (the feedback helps me with the writing of reviews). Cheers
Flinders St Station has multiple trains running from early morning to late at night, there's trains to all suburbs from early mornings, afternoon and till late at night. There's many different platforms for the different suburbs the trains run through, there's overhead signs to guide you to the right platform. It's a very busy train station as it Being "The City Of Melbourne" which has heaps of everything there.. The Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) is situated there and is used for night events eg; A.F.L. Football Matches And Live Concerts which makes the station extremely busy at these time between 5-6 pm (to get to the event) and 10-11 pm (after the event finishes) it's very busy, there's Public Toilets, Disability Toilets And Babies & Mother's Change Rooms Too. A Service Desk to help you out if needed, there's access to the taxi area and bus stops. There's also trams available that go all around the city too. It's a beautiful old iconic building, it still has it's beautiful featured domed roof, its know for it's over head clocks above the stairs to get to the platforms too.
Flinders Street Station exterior hasn't changed in decades and it's just the way the locals like it. Inside however, it has become slightly more modernised with computer screens for each rail line. Plenty of places to buy food albeit it isn't the ver quality and recommend you look elsewhere. Toilets are available and are clean. ATM available. Normal tickets and getting a MYKI card can be done at the ticket window. You can purchase a regional ticket to the country areas of Victoria at the Regional Ticket window. You can also pick up a myki at 7-eleven stores. Timetables are easy to read. There is an underground loop network that travels beneath Melbourne - gets you from one side to the other. Flinders Street Station is opposite tram lines as well, which take you north/south or east/west. Having travelled the world. It's not the best public transport system but it works. Staff are usually helpful and happy to get you on the right tram or train. -you'll find them with a fluoro vest on.
A rat climbed up my arm cause i thought it was Remi and he bit my face until my lip and nose started bleeding. The people there did nothing and told me i was imagining it. The doctors said there was nothing wrong with me but i need to go to a insane asylum so here i am in a insane asylum being treated for my nose that hasn't stopped bleeding since. Remi lives in my shirt and sometimes sits on my head but after i take the pills he goes away. i don't like it when he leaves so i hide the pills and play with Remi all day. Remi is my best friend even though he tells me that i should jump. The workers there tell me to stay away from the voices but Remi is so welcoming and hes not just a voice hes my friends. Anyway the floor was slippery and i slipped and hit my head and after that i have had bad head aches and now i can see Remi and sometimes that walls move. But a old couple gave me a band aid when i cut my finger on the bricks so one star for them. <3
GRAND OLD DAME OF MELBOURNE TRAIN STATIONS This amazing building is a central hub for Melbourne's train network. Built in the glory days of Marvellous Melbourne it is in need of a major restoration. It's a massive building occupying a large tract of land in the city centre and fronting onto the Yarra river. All train lines connect through this station. If you are looking for a quick access route from Elizabeth Street to Southbank there is a nifty way to do this.... enter the station at Elizabeth Street and walk right through the underground walkway to the other side of the station to platform 12. One exit from platform 12 takes you out to the riverbank and the pedestrian bridge to southbank. You need to tap on your myki card to get in and then out but you wont be charged if you only spend a few minutes walking through (see pictures below for entry / exit points)
Melbourne train line is developed in advanced way which carry people from all around Melbourne, many lines to get you in-to and out-of the city and most lines have train every 15 minutes or less depend upon which side you live South East Melbourne, East, North or West. It has Flinders St Station which is in the centre of the Melbourne City, located near most major malls, shopping places, Businesses and Tourist places. The building of the station is quiet old as a historical building but its maintained very well and cleaned. Many Tourists and visitors will admire the art of the building, especially when it is lit up at night time and it has good views from entrance from Flinders st & Swanston st. This station is very busy during morning & evening because most people finish their jobs and heading towards home. But its still managed well.
I do not really understand people giving this train station such a high reviews. From my perspective, it is a filthy, run-down train station (please see the pictures attached; my apology for the picture of a toilet, I intentionally did not took picture of the whole toilet showing how disgusting it was). Yes, the historical building is nice, however, maintenance and cleanliness is absolutely shocking. Considering this is one of the busiest and the most famous train station in Melbourne, it is really a shame. The train station has been in renovation for at least 5 years, but I cannot see anything being done. Try to compare it to main train station in other cities, e.g. Singapore, Dubai, Tokyo, etc. It would like comparing Day and Night.
This railway station is an iconic and cultural Melbourne landmark. It's the oldest railway station in Australia, and is the busiest suburban railway station in the southern hemisphere; by far the busiest railway station on the Metro network. It's the main hub of the Melbourne train network and from here you can catch a train to most of Melbourne's suburbs. It has a number of food and drink outlets and, on the steps under the clocks at the very front, has been the meeting place for generations of people. In many ways it's the centre of Melbourne. It's directly opposite Federation Square and most of Melbourne's trams run past it so you can just about get to anywhere in Melbourne from this central location.
Don’t care about getting the TikTok instagram snapshot of a facade that everyone has seen a billion times, this place has one function - a train station and it massively fails! What an embarrassment for Melbourne. Looks totally ran down, it’s like navigating a rat maze. The platforms are small and struggle with peak pedestrian demands - it’s a nightmare during peak hours. Toilets are disgusting, the smell is horrendous. If they can fix Spencer st it’s time Flinders gets the same level of attention. If only the Victorian government hadn’t wasted tax payers money on the failed Commonwealth Games bid and withdrawal, imagine what that money could have done for the state!
I believe it is the busiest train station in Melbourne. The main entrance to the station is an historical dome structure and any tourist would love to click a pic of it. What a magnificent view amongst city skyscrapers and heavily crowded street!! Everytime I pass by the road beside the station I never miss noticing the beautiful view of the station sometimes trams crossing over. The station also has plenty of coffee shops and cafes for refreshment and a well maintained waiting lounge for relaxation. With all the busy crowd and being one of key hub in Melbourne, I will say the station is also well protected with high level surveillance and monitoring system.
The Flinders Street Station is one of Melbourne's most iconic landmarks. Tourists and Melburnians alike have stood beneath the clocks of Melbourne's iconic central railway station for generations. The station is located in the center of Melbourne, next to the Yarra River. The station was last renovated a few years ago. From here, you can reach most places in Melbourne by public transportation. There are trains running throughout Melbourne. Just outside the station there are also multiple trams that pass by regularly. There are toilet facilities at the station as well. St Paul's Cathedral provides a good view of the station.
The first guy I ever dated dropped me at Flinders Station. He's the one who told me the story behind Finders Station. This station was apparently meant to be built in Mumbai, it was originally designed for Mumbai, but they accidentally built it here in Melbourne. Well, aren't we glad they made that mistake? The current Elizabeth St/Southbank exit is a bit too narrow for the amount of people that catch trains from Flinders on a daily. People always rush and push people over just to catch trains. Except that, it's in a perfect location. Platform 10 is perfect for waiting because of the stunning view!
Its a very accessible station, multiple entries. Very busy and happening throughout day and night. A lot of ongoing works at the moment. I love that its a fusion of old building with some modifications. A lot of announcements to keep everyone updated. Toilets need more frequent cleaning for such a busy place. A lot of options to eat/drink. Obviously if we compare to other developed cities and their major stations this station needs a lot of improvement and what not, but as of now with the type of train services we have I think its a very good design keeping the old constructions in mind.
It is an icon of Melbourne. The station itself is full of history and architecture. However, lack of management and maintenance. They are starting to do something about it but I think quite late to start acting now. Lots of damages already done. The station itself served its purpose and it is a centralised multi line station after all. It gets crowded at peak hours as expected. It is also a popular photo spot for tourists and street photographers. Night time can give you some interesting photo opportunities. However, it is not that safe. Beware of your belongings.
Flinders Street railway station is a railway station on the corner of Flinders and Swanston Streets. The art nouveau style building, with its prominent dome, arched entrance, tower and clocks is one of the city's most recognizable landmarks. It is listed on the Victorian Heritage Register. Its an iconic landmark of Melbourne. The station has Australia's longest platform which is 708-metres long and is also the fourth longest railway platform in the world. The station is well connected by trams.Close by is the Federation square.
The overt presence of PSOs assuming quasi-police roles at the station's entrance is hilarious, yet their conspicuous efforts yield scant benefits for travelers. Simultaneously, the conduct of ticket inspectors proves egregious, as they unabashedly indulge in unwarranted intimidation of commuters in a city grappling with escalating living costs. The incongruity of their inflated egos within the context of their minimum-wage employment accentuates the absurdity of their behaviour in this public transportation domain.
The centre of all train lines connections right around the entire city of Melbourne and country region area of Victoria this is where it begins in the morning throughout the day and stops at night.Flinders street station is the biggest door to everything in Melbourne City Victoria market, entertainments, food, and so much more on very nice looking station colourful day and night, outstanding services from everyone floor staffing, city directory very clean and tidy with everything connects from here.
Very easy to navigate, multiple lines to get you in-to and out-of the city. It's located right in the heart of the CBD, which is centrally located near most major malls, offices and attractions. The building itself is a work of art and has recently undergone renovations. Tourists and visitors will admire the decor of the building, especially when it is lit up at night. This is for sure a busy place during the morning and evening rushes, as well as during major events or celebrations downtown.
Flinders Street Station is a major landmark in Melbourne. According to Wikipedia, it opened in 1854 and works were completed in the early 1900's. It used to be a grand station but nowadays it had descended into a sad, dilapidated, grubby eyesore in need of being properly fixed up and the funds to pay for the renovations. I've not had any issues with staff but heaven help you if you get in the way of the impatient and entitled commuters who will push you out of the way to get to the train
A beautiful and historic landmark, important to the city of Melbourne. This station is quite convenient if you would like to catch a train. It is well signposted and you will rarely find yourself lost in a metaphorical abyss of confusion. The one star it loses is for the grime and overwhelming stench of the men’s lavatory. Dirk ventured in and came out a changed man. More specifically, his head was bent by the stench. Here you can see his bent head. Please clean the lavatory.
Usually all trains run on time time. Beautiful architecture as built so long ago and kept in great condition. You can literally catch any train you need depending where you live. Depending on train, best is the express as at your arriving train stop in a short time usually through the city loop, or if stopping all stations, you still get to your station at a good time. Depending on the time you go home, you can either get a seat or if fulp plenty of standing space
Is the main train station in Melbourne, from Flinders you can go almost anywhere in the city. It can be a little confusing for those who are not yet used to get trains in Melbourne, but after getting used to it seems to be very well designed and organized. The trains rarely fail to meet the schedule, meaning the trains are very punctual. Flinder Street Station is a post card of Melbourne city and having lights makes it even more beautiful at night.
I haven't seen Flinders station this quiet and empty in a long time. I remember back in the days when I was still in high school and mobile phones were not around yet. My friends and I would use this as our meeting point. "let's meet at flinders tomorrow under the clock" you had to be specific because sometimes they could come out on the other ends of Flinders station. The good old station. I'm so glad its still here.
I’ve always wanted to see the awesome British station because It’s kind of landmark of Melbourne. I’ve lived in Melbourne for about a month and every time I passed through the station, I found new angle and took photos:) Actually this kind of building like sort of British style one is one of my favourite points of Australia. Especially in Melbourne you can see lots of beautiful buildings like this.
What a station. It's so iconic and I was amazed to see both culture and history are combined into a huge building. It is filled with diverse people. One of my favorite stations beside Southern Cross Station. Even when you don't use the train from this station, you should definitely go its building and maybe take some pictures from both inside and outside. Worth to just visit and see!
Super nice! The architecture is cool and the station retains many dated design features which create an awesome atmosphere, like the clocks. The exterior lights up at night, which made me super excited when I saw it. It was awesome. The trains arrive and depart on time, navigating it is easy thanks to the clear signs, and there are toilets and restaurants inside which is neat. Nice!
This iconic building is worth a visit even if you don't need to use the bustling transport hub! It is a Melbourne city landmark - in particular, the row of clocks above the corner entrance on Flinders Street. The clocks were replaced in 1983 with digital readings, but after a huge public outcry, the old clocks were back within a day! A common meeting place is "under the clocks".
flinders st station is without doubt the heart of melbourne, the iconic heritage building . Beautiful architecture and a large expansive transport hub which is close to everything the city has to offer is an excellent tourist destination and meeting point. Feel protected because of constant police presence. Staff will tell you exactly where to catch your train if you need.
I’m on the way home nề catches train to dandenong station but no train today . I’m asking the Indian customer service at 5.15pm he so rude . Talking to customers with something in his mouth and tell me coming here I talk to you . Is that the way he treat customer , if he felling tired or don’t want to do his jobs just go home . Do not be mine to someone else .
This is a busy station. Movement for commuting is very open not too many gantries are closed for the commuters to tap and enter. It wasn't too obvious for newbies like me. We have to return to the main entrance to tap the MyKi card and return to the platform. I believe it gives the people the trust to "tap and goes", and your integrity of paying the fare.
One of Melbourne’s iconic must-sees. Flinders street is a clean station with lots of help and food options. The ballrooms above are beautiful (but not accessible unless for an exhibition or something). Across the road are many options for food and cafe’s. Recently saw the Rone exhibition in the ballrooms and they were amazing!! Definitely recommend.
Great location to catch all connecting trains to all locations of Melbourne. You can also catch connecting trains to V/Line service @ Southern Cross every couple of mins. The station has some variety of shops to get food and coffee on the go and a pub within station. The stattion is also getting upgrades atm as part of the metro tunnel projects.

what an amazing location, this is a historical location been standing for a long time, seen the pictures of this cool train station in old day & the modern day, they both look amazing. the old day station was full of character & gorgeous, people are walking around in the old dress and suit make the station look busy and full of story.
Not just a train station, but a meeting place and great location for people watching. Quick bite to eat from food vendors is a winner, sitting and eating to wait for your next train or friend to show up. Safe to hang out with plenty of staff, security, and police monitoring the area. Just wish there were more myki ticket machines.
Flinder Street Station is truly the heartbeat of the city Melbourne, and I've got to say, the front architecture is a striking marvel. It adds a unique touch to the overall experience, making every visit memorable. The station's central location and impressive design make it a standout landmark, contributing to Melbourne's charm.
People giving this place 5 stars for the OUTSIDE looks and how aesthetic it looks on their Instagram. Deep down, this train station inside is so outdated and unsafe. Throw in a rainstorm and this place becomes the largest slip n slide in VIC. I feel bad for the elderly trying to make way. Exterior: 5, functionality and safety: -1
The largest and busiest suburban station in Melbourne, its iconic design is easily recognised by any resident or visitor to the city. You can get trains to any destination from this station and it is well served by other transport options such as teams and buses. Lots of eating and drinking options are available nearby.
Located next to the Yarra river, the building is quite iconic and is a landmark that you should pass by if you're walking around The city. There are many trains stopping here but the train area is only accessible to commuters. Otherwise nothing much special except if you want to take photos or travelling through here.
One of the landmarks of Melbourne city that you don’t wanna miss! It is recommended to visit once during the day and another at night - it’s a whole different vibe when the lights are on. To get a better photo, take it from diagonally across the street! You can even go up the stairs and have a shot from the church ;)
The historic building of the Flinders Street station still operates as a train station. It is usually quite busy with people moving about to catch a train. There are electronic signboards around most exits so you can check the trains before heading in. There are also quite a few entrances/exits around the station.
While it may be a famous landmark. For being a major station there's a few downsides. The toilets upstairs in the main area are very disgusting. Make sure you learn which platform your regular train uses and get used to running up and down stairs in a rush. But at least the staff at lord of the fries are friendly
Stunning building which is the main train station for central Melbourne. The architecture is gorgeous and the stained glass fab. Don’t come here just to take a train, come to have a look around, you will be glad you did. It has a lot of history attached and you can find out lots of information about it inside.
Awesome station location! I used this station most of the time to arrive/depart in and out of the city. Convenient to the river walk, shopping (souvenir shops), hotels, restaurants, money exchange shops and not far from the Sports venues (Cricket, Footy & Tennis). Part of the City Center Loop stops . . .
The architecture of the building viewed from the outside is a reminder of its history and how long it has stood. Station itself is convenient, clean toilets, escalators to go up and down platforms, signage for train times and itineraries in multiple places. Staff posted around the station are friendly
On the number 11 tram (6043) at 15:33 on 10/08/2017 and the driver stopped the tram because he had a call from operations to find a lost phone. He had a bloody good search and found the phone. The guy isa legend, he could have just asked the customers, turned around and declared it lost, he didn't.
I wanted to leave a review in appreciation of the lovely gentleman doing announcements today - while waiting for my train on Platform 5, your arrival/departure announcements were full of character and really made my day! Hope you're able to head to a city cafe and enjoy some biscotti soon too.
As always fantastic service from Gurkhas travel Melbourne. Right from start to recive the ticket, whole team put extraordinary efforts to make us feel home. Any special rquirement is always yes. Special thanks to Shivam Anand looks after us for last 6-7 yaers. thank you for your best services.
Dear Metro Train, you have invested so much on the trains but please upgrade the announcement speakers installed in trains as I can't understand a single word while an announcement is made... forget about non Australian citizen, Aussies find the damn thing useless... …
We visited this iconic landmark in Melbourne. The architecture is classic and a nice place for photos. However, inside the station is all business and we could not get in without a train ticket. There are some food stalls and cafes just along the side of the train station.
Worst ever maintenance of station across AUSTRALIA. Flinders street station is the Central station for Melbourne. But the infrastructure and cleanliness and maintenance. My god..!! So worst. The cleanliness of the restrooms do ant even deserve 1 star. Bad.. Bad.. Bad..
Not for a train journey, but purely to admire its iconic architecture. The grandeur of the building and the intricate details stand as a testament to the city’s rich history and architectural prowess. A must-visit for anyone with an eye for design and architecture!
Awesome looking place. Take a ride on the old school tram. It is free on the weekends. It is a rocky ride but worth it for the experience. I think you need tickets to get into the train station. This area in general has alot of places to look at and take pictures.
Iconic train station great for photos of Melbourne, can get very busy as is main station so just be aware of your surroundings. Close to Yarra river and many bars near by. When every there’s a sporting event this station is full of crazy people so I would avoid
Excellent station, easy to get around and figure out where you need to go. Multiple entrances and exits leading to any number of buses, trams and other forms of transport. Can be a little crowded at peak times during the week, but that is the same everywhere.
the heart of railways in victoria, first opened in 1854 and the domed station building opened in 1909. all suburban trains start and end their journeys here. although now its all overrun by foreign people and it just isnt the same as it was 50 years ago.
Fantastic alley ways, as an alley way enthusiast I was quite satiated. Plenty of places to go, I personally would recommend The Joint for a well priced pub feed and drinks. Take a long walk throughout a cultural hot-spot with generous sights to behold.
I have visited the Melbourne last year in September, the city is well organised, people were so cooperative, weather was awesome, food quality was amazing, and free tram zone in Melbourne, I had enjoyed alot want to visit again in next year as well.
It famously became the very first steam rail station in all of Australia. Currently, Flinders Street railway station is located on the corner of Flinders and Swanston streets in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Opened in 1854, the historic
This station is filthy, disorganised, caothic and unsafe. Everyone knows it needs a full restoration and redesign but the state goverment is stubborn and doesn't want to put money into it. For a city like Melbourne this is a disgrace.
Really cool and convenient train station with almost all the train go across. Will be a nightmare when in the busy time. Still good than any other train stations for taking a seat because it is the starting station for most train line
Great signage as you enter the stations and plenty of gates for rush hour traffic. Plenty of connecting ways between different platforms and a lot of exits and entrances. Close to the Art Precincts and southern end of Melbourne CBD.
Average railway station. Needs a good clean and removal of dangerous debris from construction works. Fairly run down, confusing train timetables and platform switching. Very overcrowded. Wouldn't stop here unless necessary.
The hub in the train zone in Melbourne also known as under the clocks, the oldest building, a easy transition from one platform to another, lifts available and there is an escalators enter stairs, accessible train station
Good train line interchange. Toilets easy to get to from train lines. A lot of food businesses are accessible from inside the station. Train timetables are easily found and staff are always around to ask clarification
Melbournes main transport hub with train meeting trams within walking distance to Southbank, Federation Square and the Bourke St Mall area. Fairly easy to navigate with plenty of friendly staff on hand to help out.
The station is architecturally beautiful and with a great location in the city, pity there aren’t many choice for food within the station. The sunset view of Melbourne from the station is something to remember by.
Without doubt Melbourne’s most iconic landmark. I only wish that this station is preserved in it’s original state where the rest of the city is ever changing and continues to build large tall boring skyscrapers.
A group of us were going to the State Library near the station. Very busy place with lots of people arriving and many catching trains out into the suburbs. It is known for the clocks at the front as you walk in.
It is the final and first station in the Melbourne city loop train network. It is well organised, clean, with plenty of amenities and services. Quick walk to anywhere in Melbourne CBD and tram station nearby.
Too old, dirty and stinks like bathroom everywhere under the roofs!! I don't even understand what is iconic about this dodgy place except the facade lighting. Don't we pay enough taxes to sort this place out?
Easy to get on and off the platforms, good signage so it was very easy to get to the correct exit and back to the right platform for departure and the audio didn't echo so one could hear the message.
Good to be back there After a long time Suggestion tho Proper signage to the appropriate tram terminals would be lovely As I got lost My anxiety went thru the roof So maybe consider this idea Thanks
As a first timer in Melbourne from July 1-5, 2019, the station became my orientation hallmark. It looked gorgeous when it was lit up. I walked past it a couple of times to and from the South Bank!
A very central and easily navigated station. It's just too bad that they have got the entire thing wrapped up now for external renovations. Hopefully it'll look beautiful again when they are done.
After a large event at the MCG this railway station should be focused on moving people quickly but it just can't. In 10 minutes we've had multiple not in service trains. Melbourne is failing
Emblematic Train station in Melbourne. Photos here are a must. The architecture is quite beautiful, although inside it is pretty much a train station. A must stop to see point in the city.
The food court at top is not very endearing .There are no seats at top of platforms, no drinking fountains anywhere in the station. The pharmacy is a convenient place to get a script.
Very interesting place, with iconic building. Haven't explored every area yet due to lockdown, but certainly love to do so in future. And the people you see there are soo vibrant ...
I like the old architecture and normally I would say it is easy to navigate around, but with the renovations at present, it is difficult to manoeuvre around. It needs more signage.
Disgusting restrooms. After many years just visited Melbourne city on this Sunday. I travelled through the Flinders station and happened to use the restrooms inside the station. I
The iconic tourist attraction in Melbourne. I hope I could have done a better photo shoot at the intersection for this building during Christmas season. It’s just so beautiful.
Flinders Street Train Station, yes, the view I took is from Sky Deck! It looks quite nice, but once you get down to the Train Station, there are a lot of 'dippy' people there!
As we were are not from Melbourne, staff was really friendly. The food options inside are really good, especially if you have a long trip. Everything was easy to navigate.
You must see the current experience TIME - RONE on level 3 of the Station. Entry at door at 273 Flinders Street. Marvellous and a fantastic use of this heritage building.
It's Flinders St Train station. An Iconic institution to Melbourne's public transport Mecca. I think the exits in and out of platforms should be somehow twice the width.
Flinders street station is the one of the iconic landmark in Melbourne, is that no any place u can see huge crowd walking around the CBD. Always fulled with heads.
Historical station such a beautiful place in Melbourne the oldest train station in Melbourne surely a precious landmark iconic building nice staff was a bit noisy
The most iconic place in Melbourne. Always a pleasure to watch the busy population and traffic move by, in tune with the church bells from St.Paul's cathedral!
A icon in CBD, the historical train station keeps working now to provide the public transportation service to people. Good place to take some photos. Enjoy.
Very crowded station. there are a lot of food stands outside but very easy to navigate. Top up your miki there are a lot of officers checking if you tapped.
One of the iconic buildings in Melbourne. Every angle of this station is really good for photos. For the first timers, this iconic station is a must to go!
One of the two most important Railway stations of the Melbourne Train network and one of the important landmarks of Melbourne. Architecture - 5 star
Beautiful building. One of the main hubs in the city with trains coming and going constantly and lots of shops around. Easy access to the CBD.
A definite must see when visiting Melbourne. Iconic to say the least. Staff were great assiting us and we used the trains to travel everywhere
Amazing architecture and just an iconic building in Melbourne. Always in awe of how amazing the building is every time I visit Melbourne CBD.
It's always busy, the food is good, if not a classy atmosphere. The Vlocks restaurant costs a fraction if the restaurants across the road
