WOW!! WHERE DO I START FROM...... First of all the vanilla slice that they sell here is the biggest and best tasting I have ever had anywhere period. The original has a light fluffy custard and pastry baked to perfection. I tried the chocolate vanilla slice the other day and it was absolutely amazing as well. Always baked fresh and will be buying it by the tray load next time I have a party or event planned. Secondly the owners of the business a husband and wife team are the most genorous most hospitable people you could ever meet. They deserve a shout out for their hospitality. You have made me feel like family every time I stop by. Thank you so much and I will continue to support your business. Thirdly the cheese and spinach pies the meat pies that they make in the mornings are also absolutely unbelievable. I take them home and reheat them the next day and they taste as fresh as the first day. I also don't want to forget to mention the huge jam dounuts that they make. Full of jam filling and so delicious I could almost eat my fingers at the same time. This store is a treasure trove of delights. Thank you for opening up around the corner from my house and keep up they great work guys

Can't recommend this place enough! The vanilla slice comes in classic and French the difference being the icing on top. The slices are absolutely delicious but massive so I would recommend sharing. If you want to try something a little bit different the chocolate vanilla slice is amazing. It's like a chocolate mousse in flaky pastry. For the more daring there are weekly flavours like strawberry, rum & raisin, passion fruit etc. Aside from vanilla slices this place also has cannolli and home made jam doughnuts as well as assorted savoury pastries and hot & cold drinks. The owners are the life and soul of the cafe, passionate about food and two of the loveliest people you will meet. I'll definitely be going back next time I need a sweet treat!

I had been meaning to try this place for a couple of years, and was finally in the neighbourhood. To be honest, I was spoilt years ago when discovered the best Vanilla Slice EVER in a cafe next to the Hampton Railway Station. It was huge (had to share) and creamy, light and fluffy. I don’t know where they bought them from; but the cafe has changed hands a few times since then. So, I am judging unfairly any Vanilla Slice I now come across, as nothing compares to those. However, this little gem makes up in other ways. The staff are wonderful, and there were so many locals stopping by, providing a cosy atmosphere on a sunny but chilly Winter day.

"BIGGEST AND THE BEST" Ususally when I see a sign with a place claiming to have won an award im very sceptical but these guys at Flinders deserve all the credit!! Easy to find on Warrigal rd, parking out the front. Staff very warm and friendly which is what you need beforw chewing down a vanilla slice. Got the original stock standard vanilla slice and geez was it good. HUGE serving which is a big tick of approval from me. The the taste is everything you expect and more!! Will happily return and bring others to try. Thankyou guys keep up the great work!!

Wow wow wow the vanilla slice cake is monstrous in size and flavour. We bought the 'smallest' cake they had and 15 of us couldn't finish it. Great value for money and also tasty. Bought their doughnuts which were also equally incredible. OMG don't even get me started on the cannoli! A huge shoutout to the owner. She is the epitome of 'customer service'. Despite her wearing a mask, I could tell she was smiling the whole time we chatted. Come for the vanilla slice and doughnuts but return for the service!

Heard about this place in an article in Time Out about the best vanilla slices in Victoria. As I live nearby and had a special occasion last Sunday, I decided to buy some vanilla slices, I chose the chocolate, traditional and French Vanilla; they were all magnificent and enjoyed by everyone. Also, the service was excellent, the lady behind the counter was very friendly and we had a good chat. Highly recommended.

We ordered a giant vanilla slice birthday cake. We've had some good cakes in our time but Wow- this was next level!! It was just superb and decorated beautifully! Great service and lovely owners too. We all voted it the best birthday cake we had ever had and loved the fact it was a little different. All 25 of the people at the party decided they wanted this type of celebration cake for their next birthday!!!

Delicious creamy vanilla custard, great quality ingredients. The rum raisin was a winner, just wish there were more layers of pastry, maybe 4 to separate the very generous slab of creamy filling. The chocolate slice was rich like mousse. Some more fruity slices, perhaps with mango or blueberry pieces through it would be great.

Was attracted by the big signs "winner" and "Guinness records", however, this was nice, big in portion and very creamy, but having to compare it to the amazing vanilla slice in Sorrento which is just incredible and worth a 2 hour drive for, doesn't come quite close. Service was very friendly though. Thank you.

Bought the Passionfruit and Coffee slice this afternoon.The owner and his wife were so lovely and hospitable. They got me to taste few flavors. Come for the sweets stay for the service. Family based business with some of the best Vanilla Slice options in Melbourne. Or you could even try Chocolate or Strawberry! If that doesn't take your fancy, how about a coffee, sausage roll or gelato? Definitely worth a visit to Cheltenham.

Just went in today as I was driving past, order the vanilla slice, omg it’s amazing, so big and creamy! The cannoli was beautiful too with the stunning custard and so crispy from the shell. Would definitely come back. The lady there was so lovely as well, everyone must try this place!

They are nice. The filling and pastry is all very yummy but there is way too much filling to pastry ratio. If you need them to be so large put in an extra layer or two of pastry. There is a small amount of pastry top and bottom and it’s about 15cm thick of filling!

Called in as I was driving past. Really wanted to try it, but saw the size of them and I didn't want that much. Asked if they could do a smaller size but they refused so I missed out. I guess it'll good if you're happy with a large size.

Best vanilla slice ever but way too tall! If you like great vanilla custard go no where else! The strawberry version is also amazing! I really want to try a chocolate version! Attentative owner, lets you taste the custard before you buy.

Delicious and very creamy vanilla slices.The passion fruit could pack more flavour, however the strawberry slice was great. As the slices are tall, it is very difficult to get them out of the box. A box that folds open would be better.

The staff were very nice & I actually tried the Chocolate Vanilla Slice & believe me it actually was just like a Chocolate Mousse so creamy & delicious & I actually had a beautiful coffee to go with it. Definitely worth the trip there.

I’ve never seen such amazing looking vanilla slices - great size. And they taste even better than they look -if that is possible - the best I’ve ever had - fabulous custard cream and not too sweet. Just perfect.
