I am a huge fan of British punk rock band, The Psychedelic Furs so when I saw they were performing at Florida Theater, I was also excited since I had never been there before but heard wonderful things about it. I prefer to buy my event tickets directly through the box offices and not websites for multiple reasons so I called to inquire about tickets and seating availability. I spoke to Steve, the box office manager and he was absolutely amazing and patient with me. It was as if I was speaking to a friend and not some rude person on the other end of a phone just rushing me though a sale. I did not purchase my ticket that night but called to buy it the next morning when they opened at 9:00am and Steve still had amazing professional demeanor towards me offering his superior assistance in providing me the best ticket buying experience I have ever had in my lifetime of buying so many tickets for concerts. Not only that but I have special needs and they considered that when selecting my seats within my budget. I received a call from Sophia, who works in the box office that same day of the concert informing me of a better seat that opened up for me so I happily accepted the new seat. Upon arrival at Florida Theater, I was greeted by many smiling employees, and wonderful volunteers. The venue is absolutely spectacular and beautiful. It gives a clean, classic glamorous feel that makes your jaw drop with awe! A million thank yous to everyone at Florida Theater for making my experience magical!

So every year my organization (Community Nutcracker) puts on a show at this incredible, historical and lovely venue. We take over the theatre for 6 days and produce 6 shows… I have the privilege of working with some awesome folks.. and let me tell you this year was just amazing. As a 501c non profit we have so many intricacies and needs that may go beyond normal. We produce two school shows, a community service night and 3 public shows. Our feature charity is Dreams Come True, who grants children with life threatening diseases their dream trips. So you can imagine how many small details are required for each performance. From set up and load in on Monday to the final performance on Saturday night to load out and clean up these guys and gals know what they are doing. 6 shows and we never miss a beat. Backstage handles our props, our backdrops, our show calling and scripts and our dancers and volunteers. Front of house has me in awe as they shuffle through thousands of patrons excited to visit and kick off the holiday season. Ticketing and the box office allow us to conduct our business and take care of our clients with ease and professionalism (and are the sweetest too!). I cannot thank them enough for helping us to make our production week the best and most enjoyable week of the year. BRAVO Florida Theatre.. you may and should take a BOW!!!!

Best place ever. The theatre was a great experience! The staff was friendly and helpful, and the seats were comfortable. The sound quality was fantastic, and the visuals were impressive. The stage was well-lit and the actors did a great job of engaging the audience. I particularly enjoyed the range of performances, from classic plays to contemporary shows. The theatre also hosts special events, such as concerts and comedy shows, which add to the variety of entertainment available. The facilities were clean and well-maintained, with plenty of parking nearby. I highly recommend this theatre to anyone looking for a great night out, whether you're a theatre buff or just looking for a fun night out with friends or family.

Excellent venue for performing arts and cinema, music, and more. The audio is great, far better than the memorial arena, but can get painfully loud. The theater is very old but is well kept inside and is quite charming. The staff are very polite and helpful, especially when it comes to nlfinding your seat(s). The bar was nice, but spendy. Bathrooms were as clean as they could be given it's an event. The theater is also conveniently located by a parking garage which was perfect. If you're contemplating seeing an event here and are worried the theater is just old and run-down, worry not! You'll have the time of your life here.

Just went there the other night for an Eagles cover band. Band was good until the end when they went from an Eagles cover band to a Journey cover band and then a gospel revival.....what the The venue is cool and seems like every seat is good. Acoustics are great too and the band sounded good. Bar line was horribly slow. Only 2 bartenders and they were in no hurry. Bar also shuts down early so pregame hard if you go. Probably the main thing I didn't like is no one stood up and boogied and really got into the music. It was like watching a concert at a nursing home.

We saw Straight No Chaser here this week and we were impressed with the entire experience. Walked up to the ticked window about an hour before show time and bought the lowest priced tickets they had. Ticket folks were extremely friendly and helpful. When we got to our seats the attendant moved us down because there were so many empty seats. They were just to friendly and accommodating. Drinks at the concession stand were fairly priced in my opinion. The auditorium is beautiful and the show was great.

My husband and I experienced the Florida Theater for the first time to see Clint Black (who was MARVELOUS!!) on April 16, 2023. The theater itself, while in need of some tender care for a bit of the inside peeling paint (a normal problem in coastal Florida), was absolutely beautiful. The ushers were very helpful and attentive. We really appreciated them encouraging our rowdy neighbors to chill so all could enjoy the concert. We expect to visit again.

Nice venue. However, my rating is solely based on the fact that you can not record a video. Saw Cheap Trick here and was very disappointed as soon as you enter the building it's posted with no videos, and they try their best to enforce it. You spend a lot of money to go see a band you really enjoy and can't take a video of your favorite songs. If I had known that, I would have gone to see them in Orlando and used my phone freely.

Great experience (except for the draconian and rather ridiculous "security") today for the Nutcracker. The children here were dressed for the season and were more than excited for the show. Wonderful theater with good acoustics and sight lines. Somewhat worn but still comfortable seating. Very friendly and helpful staff inside the theater. Drinks were pricey but as expected. Parking was abundant and easy access to the theater.

  • Gil Lopez (CityStreetz)

We've seen several great shows here. We drive up from St Augustine and the drive is not terrible. Straight shot for the most part. The parking price across from the venue has shot up, last night was $17. Not happy about this but its preferable to parking on the street and dealing with the sketch panhandling. Venue itself is beautiful. The recent renovations have restored the building to its former glory.

My husband and I went to see Post Modern Jukebox. The show was amazing, and the emcee in particular was phenomenal! The venue is really good for a show of this type, as it's smaller and gives you a more intimate atmosphere. The theater itself needs some work. It's in disrepair, with crumbling ceiling parts, worn curtains framing the stage, and cracked tiles in the restroom.

  • Eric

We watched the Broadway production of Mean Girls. The production was entertaining, and the theater was the perfect venue to watch it. The staff were friendly and helpful. The main challenge we had was parking, but that challenge was a ticketmaster issue and not the theaters. In all, we enjoyed the production and look forward to attending many more in the future!

Had a wonderful time at Florida Theater. I enjoyed the TV Show. 'Whose line is it anyway'. Haven't laughed that hard in years. The theater has been remodeled. The tapestry x5 has been cleaned of years of grime. Beautiful ceilings exposed. The acoustics are wonderful. Clean bathrooms. Friendly staff. Did search purses and medal detectors used.

  • Terry Collins

Beautiful old gal. Well restored and maintained. Great second floor members' area. Wide variety of shows offered. Winning venue. First time back tonight after the latest reno work. It is beautiful. The paint work on the ceiling looks like new. If I get there early enough next time I'll get pictures...or you could go and enjoy it in person!

  • Randy Abair

Really neat historic theater. Caught a hilarious set by Kevin James and Gary Valentine. Staff were all very friendly and organized as they ushered the crowd in to what is a relatively small venue, helped people find their seats, etc. Great experience - can’t wait to go back when they have another act we’re interested in seeing.

  • Amelia V. Norman

Thanks so much Sophia for your help fixing my error with my tickets. She was just so super friendly and positive, solved my problem in no time. She also informed me of and made me super excited to see the theatre's new renovations. Can't wait to go, thanks girl for bein awesome part of the Florida Theatre! …

I love this venue. I appreciate the history and the concerts and shows are always enjoyed. This last visit was too see Jim Gaffigan. We sat in the Loge section and the view was better than I expected. Sound was perfect. I do wish they had an elevator as my father struggled with the stairs being in his late 70's.

  • Eric Campbell

We went for a comedy show, the tickets were fairly priced and they have a wide selection of shows throughout the year. The theater holds just around 1100 people so shows can sell out quick. They offer a selection of snacks and alcoholic beverages during the show at a reasonable price, no crazy stadium pricing.

  • Anita Waters

What a Beautiful Theater! My first time visiting was 10/22/2022 to see Josh Gates... Absolutely Loved his Show! I bought my tickets last minute and I didn't know what to expect... I don't think there is a Bad Seat in the Theater. I love the smaller venue & I look forward to coming back to see another concert.

  • Melanie Douglas

Website is very easy to navigate. Ordered 3 seats and had my tickets in my inbox within minutes. Venue has the authenticity of a 95 year old building. She has character, old fashion tight & close seating, but otherwise she is beautiful. Seating feels close to stage, even though you're not right there. …

  • Bob Watkins

Wonderful place to experience great entertainment. The price is usually are very reasonable and my wife and I love to come here to listen to comedians. That's probably been the only shows we have seen, but it's a very easy place to get to. The seats are always great and the staff is always so helpful

  • Steve Malcolm

Not only is this a great venue for any live event (there's no bad seat in the house!), it also has amazing character and charm - decorated much like a medieval castle inside! Obviously the events drive you're interest attending but I'd imagine they could do a great Renaissance event of some kind :-o

  • Craig Cheeto Bivins

Florida Theater venue has always in my opinion had great shows. Brian Culbertson was no exception at all, wonderful performance my wife & I had traveled from Daytona Beach to see him in Jacksonville. We definitely will be returning to see him and hopefully others in the near future... …

  • Katie Zimmerman

Had a fantastic morning and afternoon in this historical beauty. I was there to support my best friend and her art students who were all honorable mentions and golden key carriers in the community, which might I add is a big deal. I love the Florida theater in all of its elegance and history.

  • Mariah Riley

It's such a nice historical place to see a show. We have taken the kids here to perform and brought the family here to see a show. The bathrooms are always clean and the staff is pretty nice and helpful if you need anything. Seat spacing is small but not abnormally small. We love the place!

  • D C

We went to see Pink Martini on Wed 01/19/22 and it was one of the best concerts I've ever been to! The theater is absolutely stunning and anywhere you sit still would be a good spot to see the stage. Loved the architecture of the building and across the street has this beautiful lit up art

  • Elizabeth Wade

Went for the RHPS. Nice ambiance and a very clean theater. It's nice to see the craftsman ship and "old school" feel of this place. If you are in the balcony, there are a lot of steep stairs. Parking was a chore simply because the Florida / Georgia was that day. Restrooms are tiny.

  • Kathleen Strates

(=the theater is beautiful they redid it so nice. We went and saw the cover band for Pink Floyd last night and they rocked yes they did now Tuesday night is Fleetwood Mac rumours everybody have a wonderful day a beautiful holiday season. Without our help we have nothing!

  • 1 BAS

For a building built in 1924 its in amazing condition. Very nice. They had several areas you could buy drinks. Jim Gaffigan was great! Can only imagine the acts that have come through the building... apparently Elvis was born in the building. Lol ( joke from Gaffigan.)

  • Ross Alexander

The Florida Theatre is an absolutely awesome venue with terrific acoustics. I was finally able to see Tab Benoit and The Dirty Dozen Brass Band here and was not disappointed one second. I would definitely recommend this venue to see a show, we'll definitely be back.

  • Wade Williams

I’ve seen two shows here so far and loved both. The seats are comfortable and there isn’t a bad seat in the house. Kevin James and Jim Gaffigan were hilarious. Tickets are fairly priced. Staff is helpful. Bathrooms are clean. Totally worth supporting this place!

  • Jenno Q

Went to see the community Nutcracker performance. It was fabulous. Definitely suggest seeing it one year if you've never been. I always like the Florida Theatre, it's old and cozy feeling and the architecture is interesting. Glad it's still around to enjoy.

  • Hisgeminigirl221

The building itself is beautiful. I was not allowed to take any pictures inside because of the event I went to see. There was a heavey security and police presence for the event. But here are some pictures of the outside. It was a wonderful experience. ♥️

  • Tommy Shinn

The theatre owners of the 1920’s believed that showing movies alone was not enough to draw crowds and that a live stage show and a lavish interior were of equal. Lord they were right. About last night! The Little River Band. Love my home town theater.

  • Bryce V.

Very tight seats. Not ideal for a fun moving metal show. This is a sit still formal venue for people over 40 years old. It can get good names every once in a while well priced tickets as well but overall not for the younger and fun crowd

  • Kerri Phagan

This theatre is absolutely gorgeous. Very easy to find parking. Great refreshment area. Walking distance to lots of restaurants before or after shows. If you have the opportunity to see anything here at all, take it.

  • Aaron Harris

Love it. They have redone the inside of the Florida Theater to it original look and it’s amazing. Great seating and small bar for drinks. Not much parking but I definitely recommend for any show or performance

  • Cliff Raitz

This place is a hidden gem! not only restored to her original glory but the sound and lighting is A+. The staff is excellent, very organized and friendly. A parking structure is across the street and only $5

  • Liquid Flames

There isn't a bad seat in the house. This place is gorgeous. It's comfortable. The sound is amazing. There's tons of parking nearby. We had a great time. No matter what you go see here, it's going to be fun.

  • Alexander Pope

I went and saw a big comedian here. This theatre is very beautiful and feels safe. It was very easy to get in and out of even with a big crowd. I recommend parking at the paid lot right up the street.

  • Cynthia Gunn

The best band and entertainment with friends. Old school 40-60s Jazz Rock horns drums and full blown entertainment all the way. THANK YOU RICK FOR THE INVITE OF ME, SIS AND MARK!! LETS DO IT AGAIN.

  • paul hahn

Great experience, seeing Kevin James at the Florida theater. The Historic building, built in 1927 is small but very cool. However, very small seats with scant legroom. (Like an airplane in coach)

  • Justin Kennedy

One of the best venue in the SE. like a little fox theater!!!! I absolutely love this place. Super loud, great drinks, easy in and out. 100% the best place in Florida to see a concert!

  • bs1174

Beautiful old theater. Well run and organized. All staff very friendly and helpful. They Absolutely Enforce the No Phones (during shows) policy. We saw 2 people get kicked out near us.

  • David Veros

The renovations that were completed made this place look amazing on the inside. We have been going to the Florida Theatre for years. This place has made a huge turn around since then.

  • Charlie Welch

Went to see Marty Stuart and his Fabulous Superlatives and the show was a phenomenal experience. First class musicians and performers. Of course The Florida is my favorite venue.

  • Ed S

Great venue, love the Florida Theater. I saw the Psychedelic Furs on Tuesday evening. Great sound from the 80's New Wave artists. Brothers Richard and Tim Butler

This Beautiful Historic Theatre makes the show you are seeing spectacular. I took the grand kids to see, Three Billy Goats Gruff, a puppet show. It was magical.

Nice historical venue. Had a great time seeing Neil deGrasse Tyson. The seating is good and the organization on site is very efficient. Nice experience.

  • Wendy Frankton

We had seats front row on balcony for Scott Stapp. Perfect unobstructed view of the stage. Sound was good, lighting was good. Great show.

  • Michele Espling

The concert was great. The interior of the theater looks terrible. I was worried that the flaking plaster was going to fall on our heads.

  • Chris Barlow

Great venue, saw Jim Gaffigan. I didn't get a drink but my daughter did. 1 mixed drink was $30.00. Just a heads up if you come thirsty.

  • Thomas Crook
