Sunday September 25, 2022, between the hours of 0930 to 0938 1505 Guelph Line, Burlington Store #657 -Still no response for my complaint a week later which doesn’t surprise me -This location also has expired meat products on sale -The staff behaviours only reflection the manager of the store -Poor management to open 2 checkouts and one of them is limited items checkout first thing in the morning. To me that’s poor foresight and or scheduling skills -Cashier 154 Check out time 0937 -In the store I see that there were only 2 checkouts open -The second check out was near the exit doors. Check out for 1 – 16 items -The woman in front of me had a full cart of groceries -I decided to go to the 1 – 16 items as the last person were just leaving -Older women at the checkout and a younger one beside her and they were talking for awhile -I had put all my items (21) on the counter and they were sitting there -The younger cashier then moves over, and I say good morning; she barely responds -She now starts to move the groceries recklessly onto the second conveyor belt -By this time another costumer lined up behind me now and began talking to the older cashier (knew each other by the things they were talking about) -Due to the younger cashier reckless way of moving the groceries, one of the cranberry bottles got damaged with the top of it getting pushed and dented downwards -I saw this and said it’s damaged -The older cashier then stops her conversation with the customer and tells me to go put it back on the shelf and get another one -I return to the line and now the cashier and the customer are discussing that I have more than 16 items and holding up the line, many other things caught me and talking about the groceries as if I wasn’t there and so I spoke up to address the costumer -I told her that I was going to stop her right there because the other cashier down the other end is taking more of the workload while no one is down here -The younger cashier throws the receipt on top of the groceries and walks off -On finishing bagging my items the customer continues her banter and I respond back with repeating why I have more than 16 items. How does she know I had that because she was not there when I had all the items on the counter. Discussion with the older cashier is where that came from -Did not get the point that these 2 cashiers were talking prior and already held me up then tells me to go get another 3-liter bottle of cranberry juice, which shouldn’t have happened in the first place and not getting the fact that the other cashier is taking on more customers -I said on leaving I will contact the cashier’s manager. I know better to contact the employers superior and not speak to her as I am one of the first to assist to implement the workplace violence and prevention program -Unfortunately, your employees don’t practice WHD

They have nice staff and good prices but run out of flyer product and they do not price match. I will continue shopping there but I do go into the store knowing that I likely won't get everything on my list and will have to go elsewhere to finish my shopping. I don't know if there's a solution there - if the store is shorted goods on their truck deliveries it's not really the store's fault. Dropped by tonight on my way home and struck out on 2 out of 3 items so no change there. I do think that food costs have increased so much that when there's a really good deal on jam and bacon (for example) it's all about timing -- otherwise the shelf is empty...‍♀️

WARNING, don't go to this store the first 1.5 hours after it opens. There's only one cashier working and no back up for her to call. Although she's amazingly efficient and friendly it's terrible service for customers and work conditions for her. Lately this is the norm at this store. I was 1 of 8 in line. Most had full carts. I had numerous dairy and frozen goods that I was concerned about because I was in line so long. If you don't want to pay for staff at least get self checkout for an option.

Clean and easy to shop. Products readily available ro purchase. Ònly issue we had while shopping at this location was the checkout. The lady in front of us asked the cashier for back up as the line up was starting to wrap around only having 2 cashiers open. Once the back up came there seemed to be an issue opening up one of the cashes and 2 customers ended up leaving. Other than the ending to the visit, all was good

Great location. Surprisingly good produce. I always go Monday evenings. Great deals on meats if you're on the lookout, otherwise meat pricing would be the same as metro or fortinos. Staff is good and often well stocked on items. Wait times aren't too bad. (again Monday evening). My go to when meat is on sale as it's closest to home. Otherwise I get my chicken at Walmart for better pricing. Jc

This is our go-to grocery store. The staff are amazing. The guys in produce are always so friendly and helpful, the manager is generous and patient, the regular cashiers are so kind and thoughtful and even my kids love them and look forward to seeing them. Thanks for making our grocery trips so great Nancy, Sarah, Donna and so many others whose names I should really know by now.

A good grocery store with a consistently friendly and helpful staff, but is badly let down by the fact that there is rarely, if ever, more than two cashes open, and of those two, the cashier at the express checkout has to sell lottery tickets and do returns. Always long lines, and this been going on for years, long before covid, and it's getting tiresome.

One of the better food basics that I've been to. Their staff is very friendly and helpful. They're always well stocked. I find their fruits and vegetables to be relatively fresher by comparison to other stores in that area. I would highly recommend shopping there just after 3:00 or 4:00 p.m. with a start replenishing the shelves and it's not so crowded

  • Alaleh - FoodyTO

The store is spacious and plenty of parking spots are available in front of it. It has a great collection of fresh vegetables and fruits. The staff are helpful and friendly; the store is clean and well-maintained. They usually have great offers on fruits and vegetables. The plus point is I never got stuck in the lineups during the COVID-19 pandemic.

I've been to other FBs that actually have better quality of food and even a better shopping experience. Exit aile(s) are narrow and congested on many occasions. Was renovated recently but looks like more is still needed to upgrade. You can find some good offers but you should watch out for expiry dates at all times.

Thought we would try this store for a change to purchase our weekly groceries. The selection of items is not that great, and some of the produce was very overipe and messy. The store was borderline crowded yet they had only 2 cashiers, one with 12 items or less. Unless they have super sales, won't be going back

The veggies and fruit here are better than Freshco in my experience. Also they have ground NZ lamb here for shepherds pie which is not easy to find, and their other meat is pretty decent except for the steaks which are not thick enough for me. Overall a clean store with some good stuff at good prices.

  • Chris Ellerbeck

Great for veggies and other staples, their meat is OK, perfect if you're having a party and you need a number of condiments or household papers. Great prices. Also, over New Year's there is a tradition of setting off fireworks for the denizens of the Barton jail beside this location, love this.

It's a Saturday... And before Christmas.... And a scare of potential lock down... Could use some additional cashiers on. Difficult to shop and keep proper distance when the line goes up the shopping area. Great sales, great prices but somewhat frustrating in there today.

  • Danny Chin

All around vast improvement since implementation of Covid-19 precautions. Very well organized, very clean and staffs were courteous and helpful. If you have not been in there for awhile, you should give them a try. Very short line, just 5 minutes when I visited.

  • Jeff L

Always great prices but today the chicken thighs on sale were all bad on the shelf. Staff needs to be more diligent on watching for this. Luckily a great cashier caught this and brought it my attention. Still a great place to shop. Will always return.

Hot summer day and travel to the recently redone store only to find they are out of stock on what I went for. Time of day shouldn't matter and the area the special was on was not very big to start with. Always has been my least favorite grocery chain.

  • Peter Cunningham

This is close to home and I come here once in a while. It has its good things and bad things but what I find best is the little stop ins and money you save for things like Bread, Butter, Margarine, maybe some frozen burgers and buns for a

Was at this store Saturday Feb 25th around 230pm, I lost my wedding ring, I want to thank all the staff that helped me look for it. Later only to find out it was in one of my bags. Thank you for your wonderful service. You are the best.

  • John Benoit

Decent prices, well-laid-out store. Limited quantities of a number of items, and some produce was not the best...for example, every one of the 10 or so bags of clementines in the store had at least one rotten clementine in the bag.

  • Ron Thrall (PainteRon)

Pricing is competitive when you shop the perimeter, the store is clean and well organized. Fruit and veg are generally smaller, more prepackaged and less personal choice. Just the food basics. Worth a look around.

  • Lexie K

Most disorganized Food Basics store in town. Produce is not as fresh as other locations, products are not put on shelf in time, selection is mot as wide as other stores, stuff are not as professional.

  • Janice Cullum

This store has a bad smell upon entering. It smells like gas or a dead rodent problem. It really needs to be looked after. I’m going to the other one because I can’t stand the smell.

  • Hoan Ta

Horrible selection of produce. Everything is rotting at the edges, spotted, bruised or wilted. I usually have no immediate aversion to entering a discount grocery store. I

  • Ty Bishop

Top deals in the area. Good selection of poultry for decent price. Store is clean, staff is friendly. Also, they have plastic bags, not giant paperbags with no handles.

  • Zachary Vanderlingen

The store smells awful through the whole store just reeks of rotting produce will be going to the other grocery stores till they get the smell dealt with

  • Luba Bridgelal Stylmashenko

Poorly managed store. There is a very bad smell coming from the front entrance to the store. Expired items on shelves and moldy breads. Please beware.

  • Deb F.

Great store, always find items cheaper & lots of produce from Ontario....don't miss the fresh peaches, nectarines & plums!!

  • Maxim Tihonov

It was truly awful smell, ad I learned for quite a while. Feels that sanitation standards aren't followed in this place.

  • Tara Lister-boomer

Smells like garbage upon entry .. not enough cashiers midday .. prices are up but fruit has mold, even bananas.

  • Kenzie Mumof2

Shelves are very disorganized and there is a terrible smell like something rotting when you walk in.

  • eric roberts

I am tired of making sandwiches for Galen Weston Jr. This clean supermarket will be my new regular.

  • Scott Musson

Clean store. Reasonable prices. It's nice you don't have to unlock your shopping carts.

  • Philip Pieters

Often do not have items on sale. Quality of fruits and vegetables not the greatest

  • Georgeta Perciun
