On Monday November 14, 2016 I went to the Food 4 Less on 87th and State for late night grocery shopping. I have to say that I am displeased as a customer due to the fact that this had to be the worst grocery store experience that I have ever had. To start off, the place was in disarray. Shelves were not fully stocked and if they were, then it was junky and just thrown up there without a care. The juice aisle in the back/side of the store was not fully stocked(barely anything there). The ice cream section looked as if packages had fallen on the floor and yet they were placed in the freezer section. Then as far as the cleanliness of the store, it looks like trash. It looks as if, the associates do not mop or even sweep in the store. Lastly, as I was in line I noticed that there were only 3 lines open. In all of the three lines, the lines stretched down aisles and people were waiting to check out while at least 4 of the workers were standing around talking or walking away form the lines. In my line itself, this lady was trying to relieve a worker for break but they had a full blown conversation for 20 minutes instead of opening another line until she went on break. This Food 4 less is the worst and no customer should have to go into a store and spend their hard owned money inside of a store that doesn't care about the appearance for the customer, how clean it is and if the store is fully stocked so that the customer can get what they want and need.

This location profiles specific people when it comes to bags. I began to carry a backpack to store trips to avoid paying 7 cents for a plastic bag. The Jewel Osco across the street allowed my bag in with no problem as does other retail stores that I frequent like PetSmart. I entered FoodLess and a security guard confiscated my backpack, along with the backpack of a child who was entering at the same time. I was a little upset but let it go. I began to shop but I noticed a few thing that turned my feelings into anger. Another woman with a family was walking around the store with a backpack on. There were also several recording cameras around the store. So why was I profile and had my bag confiscated? If there is a security or anti-shop lifting protocol then it should be strictly followed for all customers, not just a few. That security guard ought to be reprimanded for profiling only a few people while letting others slip through the system.

Horrific experience (July 2017)! Deserves no stars. I stood in line for nearly 30 minutes with less than 15 items. Management/cashier could not problem solve an issue with a customer ahead of me. I've never seen such an incompetent group of employees. I inquired about another register opening while that situation gets resolved and no one could give me an answer. (Just puzzled/confused stares, unbelievable.) Customers began to grow impatient, only then, did someone finally open a new register, thus causing customers to run to the new lane. Without regards to those already waiting ahead of them, the cashier/manager did not direct those already waiting to step over. So chaotic, noncaring, unprofessional and embarrassing! Upper management would have been appalled! Worse experience I've ever had at Food For Less.

I never have a problem with this store employees are kind and helpful. All these negative review people need to quit clowning our neighborhood stores you forget if it closes like ultra foods and Dominick's we will have no other grocery stores except Jewel's. One reviewer had to be on foolishness, saying there was no breaks in the aisle.. if you don't get your lazy behind out of here! This food 4 less is convenient. Prices are reasonable. It's always packed on the 1st and 15th but that's good . Keep the young men and women employed the security guards, and other employees that do a damn good job employed.

The store is designed to keep customers inside longer... Why aren't there any breaks in the aisles? You have to walk the entire aisle to get to another aisle... Other stores like Jewels have breaks in their aisles, whereas a customer can have access to other aisles without all the additional walking and wasting time... After working all day, who wants to be inside such a large store having to do all that damn walking.. So, I now get one of their motorized carts and ride through the store... Personally, I can't stand Food for Less... But it's all we have and no personal vehicle, not too many options...

The shelves are better stocked than Walmart. The workers are a bit like playing Russian Roulette. They are either great and customer friendly or mean grouchy. If you play the mind field correctly as far as workers are concerned you feel like you hit the lottery. Go to the bathroom if you can before going to this store. While they are not just super gross the definitely won't get a four star rating in there. Their prices are generally close to Walmart but better than Jewel without sales. There sales usually beat both stores. Hope this was helpful. Happy hunting.

87th and the Dan Ryan is not my favorite Food 4 Less location. The staff is rude and unfriendly and so are the majority of the customers who shop there. It's a very negative environment and I rarely shop at this store. The store is kept reasonably stocked, but again it's the atmosphere that makes this place suck. I know that Food 4 Less can't be held responsible for the attitudes of the customers who shop there, but their staff is a whole different issue. They definitely need retraining on customer service.

This was my first time really shopping here as im an avid Wal-Mart shopper... I have to say tho, the low prices here have made me a loyal customer in just one visit! Literally EVERYTHING was on sale! Their regular prices are literally $1-3 difference from other competetors and the fruit is extremely fresh. For my non pork eaters, this location also sells fresh turkey chops! Wow! Where i would have spent about $150 at walmart i ended up spending $100 here! Shop here and save now!

It’s very true, the customer service desk is the absolute worst! Not sure if she was a manager, but they really need to take that sign down. I waited for an hour to get assistance with the change machine, only to receive the rudest service, I’ve ever seen,. No apologies for waiting, no thanks for your business, etc. if there were a lower score than one star, I would give that. Sad but, true. No professionalism! Please train your desk on service. Our community deserves better.

Please make sure you check your meat especially the ground beef and chicken it almost always has a tangy and sour smell you have been warned i told the skinny crack head looking assistance manager she offerd little assistance and told me to talk to the butcher i waited for him which seem to be forever only to be redirected back to the Manager i had to return 3 packs of ground beef and 2 packs of chicken CHECK YOUR MEAT

Recently visited this establishment for groceries an I must say after a few year's of not shopping at food 4less it has improved a quite of bit. The prices were very reasonable than most I've been to yet the bleach price's were at a unrealistic price. Overall a must too stop in an do some shopping at this location an also the checkout was on point with no problems they took good care of my purchases, thanks

Bad customer service from clerks and management. It's not often but it does happen from time to time and if you want to avoid a place full of ratchet behavior then avoid this one. Other than that things aren't too bad. Good selection of food and products for decent prices and very close to where I live. But even though I love the convenience, I seldom shop their.

I really like this place. They seem to have a selection like Jewel with prices like Aldi. The staff seems friendly and customer motivated. Workers have gone out of their way on their own initiative to help me out on more than one occassion. Their produce is waaaay better than Aldi or Fairplay and the prices are just as cheap. I am becoming a regular here.

I like the produce dept of the grocery store. I love the freshness and wide selection of fruits and vegetables This grocery store is a cross between Sam's Club and a Jewel. So you can purchase large bulk cereals, household cleaning products, etc. as well as smaller sized items. That is another reason I like to shop here.

It was ok until they closed the fast lane and I had to go stand in the longer lane. But the person in front of me was kind enough to ask if I wanted to go in front of her. And soon after they opened up the 20 items or less lane. Then it was great at that point. Will go back they had what I was looking for.

They are open until midnight but if you go in at about 5 or 6pm the shelves are never stocked. I seriously believe they only stock at night once they close and no more after that. They are very helpful and pleasant but if I'm coming in to shop because actually have something on the shelf to buy.

The manager Donovan Davis was a disrespectful jerk. He didn't follow store protocol for returns (per their 800 number). The worst customer service ever. He should be fired. Also, never order anything online from their, their employees cannot follow directions. I have pics to prove my point.

This store never patonizea the items that healthier for you. Take for instance Heinz ketchup without High Fuctose Sugar that's on sale, Pepsi with sugar, gluten-free products such as bread. I was told it is not demand; therefore they won't carry the items. Only in the Black community!!!

F ound not too much of what i was looking for at food 4 less. To be such a large store . Had a foul smell in store also . So i bought a few need items that were needed and Food 4 Less had there , and left . In rigged tempertures unworthy to be in for FOOD for so-called Less ??!

Their bathrooms was very nasty..every stall did not have tissue in it..the tissue that was in the bathroom was wet..they need to do a better job at keeping their bathroom clean..but other than that this store is very well stock..i always find what im looking for at this store

So I'm at the store 12/10/22 @ 7:47pm and there stating they are short staffed so they can't let people in I'm calling corporate on Monday to see what's the protocol of being short staff you make customers wait in line to get in and like always there not answering the phone

Well stocked shelves, lots of cashiers and ease of finding food and their food was actually the same prices or BETTER prices than a lot of other stores I visited this past weeks. Looks like they didn't change their prices to price gouge consumers like other retailers.

Pleasant and friendly staff helpful. Wide selection of groceries produce fresh meat poultry and fish. This store has good sale and every pricing. Food 4 less has almost got everything. The only down side is it's very spacious. No way to get in and out quickly.

The Cake decorators have yet to fail me; these ladies are wonderful. The only thing I've done is told them what I've wanted and left it to them to let their imagination take off. Awesome job again ladies. The cake department itself is amazing! Thank you!!

My Go to store when low on cash etc always stocked and the prices are wonderful .however the hood females need a sensitivity class , their attitudes are just unnecessary and Ridiculous I wish management would do so something to correct that issue.

Dont like this store at all tired of giving them chances after chance went into the store few days ago and there was whole boxes of noodles eat through by mice every last one of the noodles boxes been bitten into will not be coming bck at all

The store was closing in an hour. The fresh produce was already closed up and that was the main purpose of my trip. Made the most and grabbed the other items from my list. I prefer the store on 70th & Ashland. They seem to always be stocked.

Would recommend going somewhere else to purchase fish. Recently bought perch and it tastes very odd after cooking yet the catfish doesn't taste all that odd. Either someone is mislabeling the perch or this specific perch is garbage. The

They have a large variety of food and mostly everything is in stock. The only problem is when your trying to check out and theres only 5 cashier registers opened an they have a total of 13 registers. So that's why I give them 2 stars.

The young lady was on her cell phone. Never spoke to us. ringing the items up wrong. They was manager specials .no one never speak when entering the store.when you go to the store in other area they greet you in an out never on 87th

This a grocery store on the south side of Chicago. The experience was great. You have to expect the long lines at this time. The parking stinks and if you are lucky you can find a spot closest to the store. I had a great time.

The store itself is fine have a lot of good sales but the service is lousy some of the young ladies that's ringing the cash register shouldn't even be working in the public because they attitude is so nasty bless them anyway

You can buy most of what you need from a grocery store at Food 4 Less, but occasionally you have to stand in long lines. There are express lanes available, but It would be nice if the store had self check out lines as well.

Every employee I encountered on my first visit to Food 4 Less shocked me in a good way. Everybody I met had a very sincere positive attitude and we're also knowledgeable of the products in the store. Keep up the good work.

The customer service at this store is always horrible. None of the cashiers appear to be happy ever. The lines for check out as always long and slow. I spend more time in line then I do shopping. I really hate this store!

By far the worst grocery I've ever seen. Not only are the employees appearances unprofessional and tacky, but the customer service is worst. The manager and leads would stand around and joke, while, lines are backing up.

Some of the store cashiers and cart workers are very rude at closing time. I understand they want to go home, people who work 3 to 11 like me may decide to shop than to waiting until the morning.

Busy store before the Holidays but store was well stocked and organized. Lines move quickly with several cashiers to make a short trip possible for small items. Would visit again when in the area.

Great produce! Good service. Lines can get long, but that's normal unless you go to a mariano's, or whole foods or treasure island. Well-stocked, this a pretty good neighborhood store.

Everything was easy to find and the security guard on 87th was a blessing to me I slammed my finger in the car door and took care of me and I really appreciate that.

Store was stocked with sale items and clean but there were no carts in the store. You had to bring a cart from outside, therefore the handle was cold.
