WARNING - DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I bought a new Boston suit with 2 pants. Unfortunately one of the pants was incorrectly manufactured around the upper leg and does not fit. They told me both pairs would be exactly the same. He refuses to rectify the problem even after I contacted fair trading confirming that he was solely responsible to rectify the issue. He just blatantly refuses to accept any responsibility. He admits the pants are wrong but still wont do anything. I have been polite, understanding and patient, giving him time to try to get help from his suppliers, yet he refuses to see my point of view. He believes it is not ok for it to cost him any money to rectify the problem but is completely ok with me being out of pocket!! I warn anyone going to this place that any business can be good when things go right, its when things go wrong that the true measure of a business is shown. This business has been found completely lacking and they should be embarrassed to treat your customers in such a way. I have been reasonable, I even offered to cover half your costs when I didn't have to but no, its only ok for me to be out of pocket... right?

I booked a suit hire back in 2020 for my daughters wedding after visiting a number of places within Melbourne and surrounding suburbs. As we all experienced the long lockdown Alex contacted me offering to refund my deposit, which I insisted he keep. I was so impressed with his attention and attention to the smallest details that my initial thoughts were more than met with expectation. With any important event you want to look the best and not overlook any detail. Alex is very old school and can pick your size by eye. After 12 months of covid lockdown he picked by eye a minor change in my requirements. The suit selections available are not only beautiful but also of the finest quality and style you could ever find. Alex will literally put you on a pedestal, measure and dress you to impress not only your partner but also everyone who is at the event. I cannot recommend Alex and Formal Wear of Melbourne more highly for value, quality and attention. If you really are looking to look the very, very best and be your very best. Try as many places as you like, nothing will compare to the quality, attention and service you will experience here.

You get a phone call. It's the Shadow Minister's office. He's coming into your workplace to do a tour ahead of a major policy announcement in an election year. It's big news! And you need to wear a suit for the photo op! But lockdown hasn't been kind, and since you've been working from home for the past few years, all of your suits have... er... "shrunk". You try some menswear stores, but they don't have stock - and anything they do have will take tailoring... and the deadlines are tighter than your waistband! You call Alex - and with just a few hours notice, he has you looking like a few million bucks.

Got myself a suit 24hrs before a black tie event. Alex was a absolute champion fitting me out perfectly. I'm 6ft4 at 116kg, and it was not a problem at all. Thought 180$ for a rental was very steep but I was in a bind and thought with the good reviews at least I’ll be lit in some Tom Ford / Super 250s type tux. Very disappointed with my fasten to fit pants, oversized “that’s the standard fit” shirt and polyester jacket. Renter beware.
