The Fort Worth Water Gardens is a free, public park located in downtown Fort Worth. It is a beautiful and refreshing oasis, perfect for a relaxing day out. The gardens are divided into three sections: the Active Pool, the Quiet Pool, and the Mountain Pool. Each section has its own unique features and atmosphere. The Active Pool is the most visually striking section of the gardens. It features a canyon of concrete terraces over which water flows to a basin 38 feet below. The water is constantly moving, creating a sense of energy and excitement. The Quiet Pool is the most peaceful section of the gardens. It is surrounded by bald cypress trees and offers a tranquil place to relax and reflect. The water in this pool is calm and still, reflecting the trees and sky above. The Mountain Pool is the smallest section of the gardens, but it is no less impressive. This pool is surrounded by a man-made mountain, which is covered in waterfalls and streams. The water in this pool is cool and refreshing, making it a great place to cool off on a hot day. The Fort Worth Water Gardens is a great place to visit any time of year. It is especially popular during the summer, when people come to cool off and escape the heat. The gardens are also a popular spot for weddings, photo shoots, and other special events. Whether you are looking for a place to relax, cool off, or take some beautiful photos, the Fort Worth Water Gardens is a great option. It is a free, open, and accessible attraction that is located next to the convention center and within walking distance of downtown Sundance Square. I highly recommend it!

Fort Worth Water Gardens: An Oasis of Tranquility and Architectural Beauty Designed by renowned architect Philip Johnson, the Fort Worth Water Gardens opened its doors to the public in 1974. Since then, it has been praised for its innovative design and captivating features. Spanning over four acres, the Water Gardens feature a series of distinct areas, each offering a unique and immersive experience. The centerpiece of the Water Gardens is the Active Pool, a terraced collection of cascading waterfalls that lead visitors to the lower level. The rhythmic flow of water creates a soothing ambiance, making it a popular spot for relaxation and meditation. Visitors can wander down the terraces and experience the tranquil allure of this cascading wonder. Adjacent to the Active Pool, the Aerating Pool presents an impressive display of fountains and mist-filled air. This area provides a refreshing respite during hot Texas summers, enticing visitors to dip their feet in the cool waters or simply revel in the spray's refreshing mist. Perhaps one of the most visually arresting sections is the Quiet Pool, a serene and reflective space featuring a large, calm basin surrounded by lush greenery. This area invites visitors to escape the urban clamor and enjoy a moment of tranquility amid the city's hustle and bustle. The gardens are free to the public, making it an accessible and enriching experience for all.

The Fort Worth Water Garden is a tranquil oasis in the heart of the city, offering a unique and refreshing experience. Nestled amid the urban landscape, it's a true gem that provides a serene escape. The Water Garden's main attraction, the Active Pool, with its tiered terraces of rushing water, is a mesmerizing sight and a perfect place for contemplation. The sound of cascading water creates a calming atmosphere that contrasts with the bustling city outside. The Aerating Pool, with its graceful fountains, adds a touch of elegance and offers a refreshing mist on hot Texas days. The Water Garden's design is both artistic and functional, providing a cool respite during scorching summers. The quiet and well-maintained pathways wind through lush greenery, providing a sense of serenity. It's a fantastic spot for a leisurely stroll, photography, or simply unwinding with a good book. While the Fort Worth Water Garden is a beautiful place to visit, it's important to exercise caution, especially around the Active Pool, as the water can be deceptively deep and swift. Overall, the Fort Worth Water Garden is a peaceful haven within the city, offering a unique blend of natural beauty and urban design. It's a must-visit for anyone seeking a moment of tranquility in the heart of Fort Worth.

While I visited, a couple of the attractions were down, but with a little imagination, you can get an idea of how cool the place is. Despite being in the middle of Ft. Worth proper, the only cue that you're in the city is the high rises. Even then, the foliage and architecture do a great job of dampening the effects of the city. You could easily chill or read a book in the Quiet Water Pool. This feature wasn't on during my trip though. The active water garden was very interactive, allowing you to walk down the design. When you get to the bottom, it's a weird sensation because the water cascading around you gives you the sense that the world is collapsing around you. I suspect it could make some people a bit dizzy as they ascend back to the top of the feature, so keep that in mind. I wish more of the features were on, but they look cool in the videos I saw online. Nonetheless, during the beginning of the week when Ft. Worth is quiet, this would be a great place to gather one's thoughts and reset! It's worth an hour of your time.

It’s a place (you’d least expect) in the middle of downtown.. the place has step construction to depict mountains and waterfalls. The water fountains and step falls are soothing to look at and flowing water creates a mesmerising acoustic experience. You can walk down the steps and enjoy a 360 degree view of water pouring from all sides. We visited on a sunny weekend and it was quite busy (although not over crowded for comfort). It’s a great place to catch up with friends and family, especially for the kids. I recommend this place to be on a must visit list of everyone exploring around this area! Important things- 1. Roadside parking is close-by and free on weekends 2. Moderate level of physical abilities required to climb up and down 3. Plenty of trees around so there’s always some shade in case the day is too bright and warm.

The Fort Worth Water Gardens is a tranquil oasis in the heart of the city. From the moment you enter, you're captivated by its beauty and serenity. The gardens feature stunning water features, lush greenery, and well-maintained pathways. The main attraction, the Active Pool, with its cascading waterfalls, is awe-inspiring. The Meditation Pool offers a serene space for reflection. The aerated pool's dancing water is mesmerizing to watch. Throughout the gardens, there are seating areas to relax and immerse yourself in the peaceful atmosphere. A visit to the Fort Worth Water Gardens is a must for locals and tourists alike, offering an escape from the city's chaos. It's a magical place that leaves you feeling rejuvenated and grateful for the experience.

This was an absolutely refreshing experience. More than enough to see and take in with the different pools, water features, plant life and walkways. We took our time to walk and enjoy this area and the beautiful scenery here. Lots of places to sit and relax with trees all around for shade, a nice breeze finding it's way through the park. Can't wait to go back at night to see the lights and hopefully the water works will be fully going in all the features. Now parking is not easy, but paid parking is available to the South end of the park in front of the Texas & Pacific Lofts off of Lancaster Ave.

I would say if you are in the Dallas or fort worth area you should visit this place. The place is very simple and it has just steps where water is flowing from all the way top to bottom. One of the amazing thing is if you will go down to all the way bottom then the sound of water is amazing and one should not miss that for sure. There are some free parking nearby but not sure if it's always free but I would suggest to be ready on weekends as there are limited spots near by but as it's Texas so you will get parking eventually may be little far.

The Fort Worth Water Gardens is a unique place that is worth the visit. Located downtown and adjacent to the Convention Center, there are three different water features/pools to observe: the aerating, the quie pool, and the active pool. The Quiet Pool was definitely my favorite because I found it so beautiful and serene. The active pool is an architectural and engineering marvel and super cool to see, but it was really busy with crowds. I would suggest maybe an early weekday visit to help with that issue. The Water Gardens are a marvel and definitely worth the visit.

Absolutely loved visiting the Fort Worth Water Garden. I went in the evening right before sunset and it was a serene oasis where the soothing sound of water instantly relaxed me. The best part? No entry fee! The ambiance is truly enchanting, especially when the temperature isn't scorching. Strolling through the beautifully designed landscape, with the gentle cascade of water in the background, is pure bliss. However, there was some trash in the water which I think should be cleaned daily to maintain the beauty of the place.

The Fort Worth Water Gardens is a really unique park in downtown Fort Worth. I was pleasantly surprised by how large the living water structures are. There are 4 different areas, 3 of which have water and one is a climbing area. It is really fun to visit during the day, but be careful because there isn't much shade so it can get quite hot! Also there is no swimming or wading allowed in the pools.

Hard to see from the street but so worth getting out of your vehicle for. It could use a little cleaning. There were a few slick spots on the steps leading down and there was an ugly foam cover in the middle. To climb as high as possible and to look down was pretty cool but to climb down into the middle was pretty spectacular. The sound of the water surrounding you and trying to walk down the steps while still looking at the space was kinda weird but the experience was very cool. Definitely recommend.

  • Panda Burr

This unique attraction has water cascading down these stair like sections into a pool of water. It does have actual stairs also. But be careful as there aren’t any rails. It’s a great tourist spot, free, and just beautiful to be around listening to and seeing the water trickle down into the pool. Definitely go all the way down to the bottom via the steps, but again be cautious.

I feel pretty safe calling this a mandatory visit, it's among the most chill spots in the city and doesn't take long at all to walk through. You can climb a mountain, you can walk down into a gorgeous pool, you can take more pictures than is necessary (I certainly did), and you won't spend a dime. An absolutely beautiful spot that had me feelin nice and zen

A true landmark in Fort Worth downtown which is a must see if you visit the city. Beautifully designed open park which combines the force of water and nature. Here you can experience the power of water in all its beauty. It's free to enter and you can certainly make great pictures here. Plan to spend a minimum of 1 hour or more by visiting the different pools.

What a cool spot!! I discovered this place while researching for our family Vacay. I wasn’t sure what to expect - but it was EXTREMELY cool! My whole family enjoyed it. We even found a nice, shaded spot to sit and enjoy it. E ethane should definitely go see this spot! It seemed so random - but so relaxing and fun! Also - it’s free!

I’ve come here my whole life! My sister lives in a building nearby, but I’ve been coming here since I was 6 years old. As far as upkeep, it’s good. It’s a fun place to take photos. It’s a safe place too, and it’s the exact same as I remember except the walls on the side water garden was not working.

I mean....it's some concrete and water. Maybe it's better in the middle of the tourist season? The aerated pool was completely dry, and the calm pool was green, as you can see. The main pool had a cool look, and you can walk down into it. The bums wiping themselves down on the "mountain" were a little disconcerting.

This is an industrial, brutalist looking series of fountains and water features. It’s fine—a little creepy. No real greenery in this garden. Just homeless folks and dirty water. I wouldn’t touch it unless you want necrotizing fasciitis. Not recommended for toddlers, young kids, anyone experiencing vertigo, or is unsteady on their feet. That there aren’t a dozen deaths each year is the true marvel.

  • Justin Villa

Amazing place to visit, my favorite in Fort Worth. Surprisingly loud near the bottom. Parking can be found cheap nearby at the parking meters. Gotta be careful not to slip on the wet rocks. They also have 3 other attractions next to it. A pool, 20 rock steps, and a water fountain. Great free experience.

I say this with the utmost respect: “eh.” There was 1 kind of cool water feature. The rest was just a smelly, unkept area. The water was green and dirty, the smell was either chlorinated or literal feces, and the middle pool was nothing but green waste. Not sure if there was supposed to be more to it, but it was not really impressive. Maybe if there was a concert at the stage, it’d be decent.

  • Ashlie Diego

It's a beautiful place to go any time of the year but I personally love a summer evening there. You don't feel like you are in the middle of the city. It's a great spot to have a picnic or chill. There is a lot of free parking around and I believe Sundays are always free

It is a nice place to visit and relax. Because of the drowning accident several years ago, I wouldn't suggest young children getting anywhere near the bottom of the falls. It was very scary for me to see young children, unsupervised, running up and down the steps. I suggest EVERYONE use extreme caution. (I realize there are safety precautions in place.)

We always enjoy coming here for a walk around the water gardens. Not much changes from trip to trip, but it is still nice. The biggest downside are the homeless sleeping on the sidewalks and in the area, but they have never bothered us

Peaceful getaway in the middle of the city. There is a walkway that you can take to walk down into the middle of the falls. Very calming

Nice place to visit in the evening! You can walk the steps all the way down. Has good sitting space with a view. Found it helpful? Don’t forget to hit

This place is located near by Forthworth downtown. You could plan forthworth garden, watergarden and near by museum as well which can be covered in a day.
