I've been going to Foundation Physiotherapy at City Place for about 5 years now and I can honestly say I've never had a bad experience. I've seen several different therapists including, physiotherapists, chiropractors, and registered massage therapists at this clinic - all were extremely knowledgeable, well-educated, and formulated effective recovery plans for my many, MANY sports injuries. Most recently I've been seeing Shirin Patel who has seen me through a knee injury and 2 achilles injuries. I've also done a running analysis with her which greatly improved my running form and awareness of my body proprioceptively. Shirin is a fantastic physiotherapist who is also extremely kind and fun to spend a half hour with every couple of weeks! I also see Avishek Bhattacharjee for registered massage therapy. Without exaggeration he is THE best RMT I've ever had the luck of finding. He is able to find the perfect pressure to my comfort, as well as finding tightness, knots, and injured areas I didn't even know were there. Every massage with Avishek is not only extremely relaxing and enjoyable, I also always leave feeling better and my body thanks me every day until I see him again. He is very adept at resolving physical ailments and I'm always amazed that he can find the spots that need work the most. Thank you to the whole City Place Foundation Physio team for treating me so well!
Foundation Physiotherapy is a highly professional, highly competent and highly personable organization, truly setting the gold standard for safety and customer care. COVID Precautious are second to none. They’ve invested heavily into screens and separators (see attached photos). They take mask wearing very seriously. I feel 100% safe coming here 1-2 times a week for treatment. They also provide complimentary access to sanitizers and hand creams. I have only worked with one physio, Katja, but she is literally the most competent physical therapist I have ever worked with ( and I have worked 4 chiropractors, 6 massage therapists, and 9 physiotherapists over the last 8 years). Her knowledge of anatomy, movement, recovery and excercise are awe inspiring. That remarkable competence is potentiated by her personable nature, her incredible ability to communicate complex concepts clearly, and her unwavering commitment to her client. Foundation physio also has an excellent loyalty program. A free 30min massage is awarded for every $750 spent. The facility itself was pristine, well-equipped, and conducive to a comfortable healing environment. Foundation Physiotherapy was a revelation to me after I had torn my medial meniscus play ball hockey. I was referred to Raj Suppiah by a friend after hearing the incredible work Raj did rehabbing him from his past injury. Although I initially came into physiotherapy feeling down, almost instantly Raj provided excitement, energy and took time explaining in detail what my injury was, how the meniscus functions in the body and how physiotherapy can help. In just 5 weeks, not only was my injury healed, but it is stronger than it was before the injury. Raj brought excitement, energy and fun back into the rehab process and I would highly recommend him to all my friends, colleague etc.
Rehab for a partially torn rotator cuff and bursitis. Jared Bruce conducted the most thorough assessment I have received so far in a life riddled with injuries and physio-therapy. He made full use of his obvious experience and expertise alongside the latest in visual technology to explain exactly what he thought the root-cause might have been. Within 3 weeks and 3 sessions I not only had significant results, but he put a plan together that would help mitigate further injury in the future. The online intake forms and booking capability made this entire experience a breeze. Kudos to the entire organization and thanks to Jared.
It was my first time going to physio so I wasn't sure what to expect, but Alex Wiley was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. I went for a sprained thumb that had persisted for 7 months, and though the issue could not be identified by x-ray or ultrasound, Alex did a great job of pinpointing weaknesses, teaching me how to relieve my tension, and working together on strengthening my thumb to get back to volleyball. Furthermore, the front desk is friendly and fast, and my appointments always begin on time. I would recommend Foundation Physio to any of my friends.
I saw Shirin after messing up my ankle a couple of months before my first Half marathon, and she got me back in shape in time to finish the race faster that I even expected. She's knowledgeable and kind, and helped me come up with excercises that I could easily do at home with the equipment I already had. I also went for a post-race massage with Alisha and I don't think I've ever had a more useful massage before. I could feel the tension leaving my muscles as she worked. The office is also super welcoming, bright and nice, and I would 100% recomment it.
Tina is really great, other than her sweet personality, she was able to identify my problem when it was hard for me to really know the source, I have had issues with my upper back for more than a year now and I just came to find out how my necks issue is directly related to it, so neglecting my neck was why I wasn’t improving, but with doing the exercises prescribed to me I’m feeling confident and finally healing, definitely recommend Tina, she’s a genius! Just stick to her exercises and you will see a fast improvement!
I had a great experience with receiving physiotherapy here over the last two months! My PT was Alex and I had a great experience with all aspects; massage, acupuncture, take home stretches, and documentation and healing of my back pain. I felt my pain was accurately diagnosed and pinpointed with my exercises. I felt the long term aspect of not just fixing the injury but strengthening the body too was great!! I was always involved in the discussion and got to learn more about strength building as a bonus. Thanks so much!
Came to Foundation after hurting my wrist, looking for help to get back to kickboxing in a safe way. I worked with Alex Wiley and she was the best - professional, personable, and super knowledgeable. The exercises and stretches that we did in session and that she gave me to do at home were a big help in getting rid of the pain my wrist, keeping my range of motion, and building strength back into my wrist. I was able to get back to kickboxing fully in a timely manner. Highly recommend Alex to anyone! Thank you so much!
Raj at Foundation Physiotherapy in downtown Toronto office nothing short of exceptional. I visited with intense foot pain, hindering my ability to walk. I wanted to write a review about an RMT Alisha Morrison. She is amazing! I've been to so many RMTs and places, and she was one of the best, if not the best. She doesn't talk much, which is nice too, so you can relax. She asked which areas to focus on, and did her best to address them all in the amount of time I paid (which is hard given how many areas were tight/painful). The pressure was perfect! Thank you so so much Alisha for helping me live through those painful days and for the relief. :)
Shirin Patel is an amazing physiotherapist!! I had around 15 sessions with her to help with my sciatica and calf pain. I always have great sessions with her, she takes time to listen to you, to evaluate what's happening, to explain the different exercices to do at home... Our conversations during the sessions were also really nice!! I was confortable enough to try acupuncture for the first time! She was really gentle and it was a great experience! Overall, I highly recommend Shirin!
Tina Homayouni is absolutely amazing! I went in because I started experiencing dizziness/ vertigo. Tina did a thorough assessment on me and was able to identify that I had BPPV. After my first visit with her, I already started feeling 80% better. Tina’s always been super pleasant, professional and informative. She always welcomed questions and it’s clear that she has a wealth of knowledge in her field. I’d 100% recommend seeing Tina if you need a vestibular physiotherapist.
I went to Foundation Physiotherapy after being diagnosed with a concussion and the treatment I received from Tina Homayouni was extremely helpful for recovery. Tina prescribed new exercises every week based on my symptoms and she was able to explain her methodology very clearly. In addition to recovering from the concussion, I was given additional exercises to improve the poor neck and spine flexibility which will surely improve my day to day life. Thank you!
Alex Wiley is an amazing Physiotherapist! I came in due to a shoulder impingement. Alex to the time to carefully assess my injuries and provided exercises that helped with the healing process and she also shared very useful tips, videos and routines to improve my form and prevent my injuries. I have been able to return to strength training with more confidence. It was a pleasure working with her. Loved the location as well! Amazing staff!
In only a couple of sessions Tyler Ottolino was able to help relief my neck and back pain and set me up with a treatment plan. Tyler’s professional, knowledgeable, practical and passionate about his craft. Couldn’t be happier and will visit again. Bonus is all the intake forms, payments, treatment plans are are digital so very minimal physical paperwork. Highly recommended to anyone in the downtown Toronto core.
Shirin is a wonderful physiotherapist. I went to her for my shoulder and leg pain. She was able to diagnose where the pain was originating from and what could be the cause. She shared follow up exercises and some for strengthening too. Shirin was patient and kind throughout. The front staff at the office was always polite and welcoming. I would highly recommend Shirin and Foundation Physiotherapy.
I have been seeing Jared for Physiotherapy and physical training, he is a very experienced and tentative physiotherapist. He is able to easily work with his client's and meet their needs and goals. I have seen great improvement in the past 6 months and continue to seem him weekly. Also, the staff at the clinic are all very helpful and welcoming! Highly recommend the facility and their services.
Jared is the real deal. He’s helped me a number of times with my shoulder issues, and also my ankle. I couldn’t recommend Jared enough as you can tell he 100% knows what he’s doing. I injured my knee months ago and decided to book an appointment for physiotherapy at Foundation Physio. The booking was easy and quick. Everyone is super friendly and the location is convenient. My physiotherapist was Aleesha and she was amazing. She adapted the treatment to accommodate my needs and answered all my questions and concerns. My knee is now better, all thanks to her.
Richard came highly recommended as a chiropractor and after my first visit I saw why. He takes the time to understand your issues and get to know you do that his treatment plan addresses not only your current issues but also your long term goals. I have seen great improvements since starting to work with Richard, and would recommend him to anyone looking for a chiropractor!
I came here about 6 months ago for knee pain due to a volleyball injury. Was taken care of by Shirin Patel and the lovely staff at Foundation Physio. Recovered nicely and now I can play without knee pain! Really enjoyed my sessions with her where she catered routines for me to rehab and build my knee strength. Would recommend to anyone facing any injuries or pre cursors!
You have found yourself in very good hands if you get to work with Tina. She is well versed, sensitive, and generous is all efforts to get you on the road to healing. Nico does and excellent massage as well and the front desk is very kind polite and welcoming. I was in Toronto for work for a month and a half and they really helped my immensely stiff muscles.
Went after my last physio office was so busy they never got back re: setting an appointment. Glad I did - very happy with the results (was a complex mash of problems and they’re all pretty close to resolved!) and onboarding and communication was great. No direct billing to insurance alas, but wasn’t a huge deal as turnaround on that was within 2-3 days
Have met with with many Physios in GTA, but hands down Raj is one of the best. The way he patiently assesses and explains all the complications in a very simple manner is quite amazing. He does give home work and I have already started to see the benefits. My pain has started subsiding significantly. Would highly recommend this place.

Have been seeing Shirin for several weeks for treatment and it has been hugely helpful for both pain relief and relapse prevention. Foundation Physiotherapy is the absolute best! They're a one stop shop for so many different and wonderful services. I've been going here for a couple years now and they truly care for their clients. Tyler Ottolino, Nikola Nacev, and Alex Wiley are terrific! Nikola has truly given me some of the best massages I have ever had.
Went to see Alex for ongoing knee pain and she was such an amazing help! She was highly knowledgeable about what was causing my pain and had plenty of options to help me work on remedying it. GO SEE JARED. Been working with Jared for 4 months to treat a fresh grade 3 ATFL (ankle) tear. I'm pretty much squatting the weights I used to before the injury. Now with a completely different ligament injury, I just walked out of there feeling brand new. This guy is a body mechanic. Extremely knowledgeable.

Tina has really been helpful. She gives personalized training and advise. My visits to other studios have been very generic. Tina knows what she is doing and she focuses on immediate as well as long term solution to the pain. I highly recommend this wellness center and Tina.
