New UPDATE: it is now three years since French Car Care said they needed to replace my air conditioning and I refused and they abused me. Got it regassed and it has been going for three years. This place invents things to be wrong with your car. UPDATE: they wanted to charge me 800 dollars to fix an air-conditioner they say I broke by "not using it enough". Took it to another mechanic. $149. Regassed. Still going strong. Also got a major service for half the price and this mechanic actually fills out the service book There is no need to use this place for anyone. I won't say all I can. As you can see from other responses - the owner likes to publicly threaten people who complain with legal action. And whether I am right or not I don't have money for lawyers. I have had 3 services and one session of "having my air conditioning fixed" with this company. Finally had it. We disagree about what counts as good work and behaviour. Owner and mechanic were aggressive. Typical of my experience here I leave and go back to my car and my clock has been reset and not put back - because stuff the customer right? I was nervous when I first came to this place because of the negative reviews - I should have trusted those terrible reviews.

I have a very high maintenance 207 GTI. One of the most difficult cars to diagnose problems. Because of this I have spent a huge amount of time with this mechanic. While the car was under warranty I had to take the car to a lot of different "warranty mechanics" who just shrugged their shoulders at the issues and the dealer just wanted to wipe their hands of my car's issues. The folks at French Car Care were able to diagnose issues that no other mechanics could. One thing is that these mechanics have gone out their way to help me by; working on my car after hours at no extra cost, have not charged me for various visits and even upgraded the CPU software for free. I have also referred friends to French Car Care and they have been equally as happy. These guys arent just mechanics. They also do auto electrics and even replaced a side window that was smashed in the storm. Peugeot would have charged me $800 and FCC only charged me $110. In summary, If FCC were not my mechanic I would have sold this little car years ago.

I had an electrical problem with my C3. French Car Care charged me $143 for a scan test they said revealed no issues. The problem persisted so I took it to an auto electrician, who fixed it in half an hour for $69. I complained to Fair Trading, who passed the case to MTAQ, who told me “[We are] not a regulatory body. We are unable to make any judgement calls or rulings.” So it looks like French Car Care will continue to get away with the practice of taking money for nothing. If you enjoy throwing your cash away, take your car to French Car Care – they’ll help you.

They don't even deserve one star... Worst dodgy repairer in Australia!!! My car was towed their by an Ultratune which could not start my car - French Care "Care" Damaged my indicator(still broken), damaged my locks (still broken), charged me through the nose for the repairs and told me they would sue me if I attempted to take them to court for not repaired my car properly sand causing further damage. Worst Mechanic in the country DO NOT LET THEM TOUCH YOUR FRENCH CARS!! Actually, I wouldn't let them touch a puddle of water for fear they would break it.

Rang up and spoke to Kathy. Ordered a couple of pants for my Citroën Berlingo. They had them in stock. Not all of them. They had one part they didn't have in stock but that was ok. Their price was very reasonable and they had it in stock so I got it straight away. Good service when I went there I realized that I'd been there before when they used to be in Manila Street so had been there previously years ago. So same people, same quality service. I think if you've got a French car and you're in the area, go there try them out

I’ve got a Renault Kangoo and after my mechanic and auto electrician both couldn’t figure out what was wrong with my car, they recommended me to go there. I was pleasantly surprised after they did a full diagnostic test, they were able to discern the problem and only charged me for replacing a fallen out screw, and an o-ring which must’ve been omitted from when my mechanic’s apprenticeship replaced the air filter. They were honest, and straight forward. I’d definitely be bringing my Renault back there for a service!

On the recommendations of another classic car workshop we put our son’s pride and joy 1988 Peugeot 205 GTi in to French Car Care for a bad running issue and a small service, I spoke with Denis on the phone and he found the problem and resolved it for us in no time at all. Very happy with the whole experience and will definitely be putting the 205 back there again in the future for further maintenance. The work carried out was very reasonably priced also. Thank you Denis and the team at French Car Care

I have been getting my Renault serviced at French Car Care for nearly 6 years and I've never been disappointed. They are serious efficient mechanics. The whole team is always very professional, genuine and friendly. They clearly explain every quote and the repairs carried out. They have an honest approach and totally respect that at times I am budgeting and work with me to maintain my car effectively. Honest people, and professional service, hard to find and I would NOT go anywhere else.

I brought my Citroen to French Car Care after I had some gearbox issues. On the way there, my engine light came on saying I had air pollution error. (Total coincidence!) They not only fixed my issue with the gearbox, but they also had in stock and fitted a new EGR valve to fix my air pollution error. I will definitely use this garage again. A special shout out to the receptionist who has absolutely mastered customer service, very polite and knowledgeable.

I’m a French guy and i’ve Always had French cars, took my Renault few weeks ago to be fixed and I got over charged as well, I didn’t have the choice at that moment so I paid and left. I even asked for the cost of a service at that time they said it’s $280 and just 2 days ago I thought I’ll call and check with denis how much is the service again he said $240 so you can tell this peps play a lot with customers. So never ever go back there.

We took the wifes Peugeot to french car care to get the clutch replaced. Originally we asked if they could put a top dollar clutch in the car but they said they could only put an original clutch in the car. I was a bit disappointed, but now, after driving the car with the new clutch I couldn't be happier with it. And to boot they were almost a hundred dollars cheaper than the local mechanic and they got it done quicker.

  • Scott Lockyer

Cheaper than dealer servicing which we were happy about, but hopeless at diagnostics. Went in a couple of times for needed repairs; they struggled to find the problem and ended up costing us more than a dealer because. Once we got repairs twice because they replaced the wrong wheel bearing based on an assumption. Another time they called and quoted $150 to replace a switch; $700 and 4 days later we're never going back.

I visited the workshop today to seek advice on a missing part of my car, the owner was extremely nice, came and checked my car, provided me the Reference number of the item in question and also guided me how to get it. He did all of this as courtesy with no charges. I am impressed and will always use this workshop for my French car and my son's car maintenance and service. THANK YOU

I am the partner of Anyes who posted here but Denis claims never to have heard of her. Some time ago we took our Peugeot 308 to Denis who spent some time trying to fix the radio; could not do it but charged us $275. Took it to Brisbane City Peugeot who fixed it within seconds at no charge. Will never go to Denis and Noel again and could not recommend them - still angry about it.

  • BM Warehouse

They sold me the wrong parts and the correct parts would take another 2 weeks to get in, so had to buy from the dealer which was cheaper and quicker. When I returned them they charged me 30% without telling me in advance. I gave them the details of the car and the VIN and they stole 30% of my money for supplying the wrong parts. Not happy never using them again.

  • paul sheather

They have worked on my car several times. New wiper motor belt change and fixed a misfire issue that other people were not able to fix. They are not cheap but we all know what we are getting into when we buy euro cars. They have also looked at my car on short notice. So thanks for looking after my 225 cup

My first time dealing with french car care and it was an excellent experience. The part (an oil vapor hose) was not available anywhere else. They didnt have it in stock but ordered one in for me and had it delivered as im located in another state. Very happy customer and i will be buying from them again

  • David Vacca

Really bad customer service and overcharged. I needed to change my fuel pump lid. So, I bought one and then go with French car care to remplace the old one and fit the new one. I tell them what the problem was. But still got charged for the “inspection” They told me that I should paid them 462 for it.

  • Stella Kok

Very good service, parts and advice from experienced Qualified Staff. I've been dealing with this Establishment for many years without issue. What's more have been in the Mechanical Repair Industry/Trade for well over 30 years now, so have no hesitation in recommending French Car Care.

  • Susan Piggott

I couldn't recommend them enough. They went above and beyond today when my car key was stolen. Uncoded the stolen key ,fiting me in with hardly any notice . It was such a relief to know my car was safe . Always get my car serviced with them .A fantastic family business. Thanks so much

Fixed the power steering on my Peugeot 407 HDi. Very low cost. Now the steering is buttery smooth and effortless. No one could even identify the issue. A Brisbane Peugeot dealer said I needed to have a major steering part replaced at a huge expense. Great service and trustworthy.

  • richard dowding

These guys are awesome. I made the mistake of taking it to O’Brien to fix my windscreen, they stuffed it up and these guys fixed it all up for the price of a new wiper blade. Won’t ever take my car anywhere else ever again! Integrity honesty service.

11/10 I love French Car Care. They have brand new parts in stock to sell over the counter that are reasonably priced. No more waiting for shipping for European parts. Fabulous. So glad I found this place, my Peugeot 206 and I are hella greatful.
