Total lack of respect for seniors! We have been long term customers at Freshworld for at least a decade. It is their long standing policy that seniors are able to have 10% discount upon presentation of their seniors card. Notwithstanding over the years, there have been staff who are unaware of this policy and numerous times when staff "accidentally" forgot to apply the discount, I have decided to share my experience about how little respect they have for seniors. Today we were buying groceries and the checkout attendant was busy having a chat with her colleague while she was checking out my order. I presented the seniors card before she started and made sure she saw it, to which she acknowledged it. After we finished checkout and left the shop, I double checked the receipt and realised the seniors discount was not applied. I went back to ask for them to apply the discount, as previously this was standard practice when people forgot. However, that same attendant said "there is nothing I can do". I asked to speak to her supervisor and she said that she WAS the supervisor. She pointed to some strawberries lying beside the counter and said "you can take one and go" as if we were some beggars. This attitude is an utter disrespect to seniors such as myself. Seniors, please do not shop here in the future, they will not treat you with respect - they think you are just after the discount and count on them for survival.
overall a bit expensive than supermarkets, check-out operators are ok, but those who load up fruit and veggie staff very rude to customers, they are staring at you when you are picking the fruit or veggie, they watch customers like a hawk. When I chose radish, load up staff approached me and asked any different between those radish. Of course there is, some are small some are big, some got black spot or cracked. You are greengrocer, you don't know the difference I know he wanted me stop picking the radish. You think i'm stupid and wanted me to buy your rotten radish. Your stuff more expensive than other supermarkets, some of your veggie and fruit are rotten and you don't let customers pick. If you are not happy customers choosing and picking your fruit and veggie, maybe you can pre-pack fruit and veggie like Aldi. Don't forget you are not the only place to shop for produce. In this tough market, only customer service , word of mouth will keep you survive.
Ive read some reviews here and frankly I'm shocked...this fruit market is actually the best one I go to so I'm surprised that ppl hav complained so much. I eat a lot of fruit and I always find excellent produce here. Papayas are wonderful, the apricots, plums, lychee are all top also. I have shopped here weekly for the last 3 yrs and if u have an issue with any off fruit u just have to show them with a photo or the actual thing and they will refund or replace. This has only happened to me twice, once with a pineapple and then a custard apple. The manager is very helpful and can order in bulk items if u need. My only thing is that I think the mangoes could be better quality as they are usually small and the R2e2 ones, which I like Kensington pride. There are also excellent specials available each morning on the back table. Thank u for your good food freshworld.
They advertise their opening hours on Facebook from 7am every day. The closing hours vary, depending on the day. I was there at 7:30am this morning (Sunday) and one of the men (possibly the owner or manager) asked me if I was finished. I said I was. He then turned to a lady and said to her “can you get rid of her”. I said to him “ so you want rid of me” he said he did because they open at 8!!! The lady who checked out my produce was very nice but this guy definitely won’t win customers with his arrogance- I won’t be going back. I recommend if you don’t want customers in your shop at 7:30 then don’t advertise your opening hours as 7am and if you don’t like customers then get a job somewhere else! As much as the cashiers are lovely, this arrogant tosser of a man has ensured I won’t be shopping there again.
Our family have been shopping there regularly. While I was nearly finished choosing mangosteen and taking some picture of it to send to our friend as We excited about mangosteen. One chubby guy with curly hair staff came and said "I don't like You taking picture" and my mother in law came to me She then smile and the same guy said "What are you laughing at?" And he looked at us not in a friendly way. I was going to buy something else but this matter make me to end my shopping at Freshworld sooner. I also complained to the lady when checked out about his manner. Management please take notice. This guy has no service minded, look down on people, He should have told his customers in a polite way if there is anything to do with shop's policy. WON'T BE SO KEEN TO GO BACK THERE IF THIS GUY AROUND.
Warning: they change the prices regularly when in store Sign clearly says 79 cents for bunch of spinach. After doing a little bit more shopping and head to cash register, we are charged 99 cents. I tell the cashier that it was advertised as 99 cents but she says it's 99 cents. After going back inside they changed the sign to 99 cents and they were rude. One cashier calls her friend at the other register "Spinach is 99 cents" and the cashier friend rudely shouts yes you are wrong it's 99 cents. I don't mind the 20 cents but at least a bit of honesty and admit the price changed whilst in store as the bare minimum. Not to treat the customer as idiots 2 stars for variety of vegetables but awful middle aged female cashiers
The worse service both cashiers and other staff... was there 10 days ago with my two kids both under three year of age .. when I took my good to the register both my kids were winging so I couldn’t pay attention to what the cashier was doing .. being a busy working mum I only got a chance to review my receipt yesterday.. to find that she has charged my $15 a kilo for peaches which I took from outside and were $4.99 .. when I went back today the manager would not even talk to me and said it was 10 days ago... why would I lie about something sooo petty Never going there again and I was a regular
Amazing quality fresh fruit and veggies that that last. Yes it might be a little bit more expensive than Coles or Woolies but the quality is far better. Not sure about some of the other reviews as I've always found the staff to be super friendly. I complimented one of the staff once about the difference with their produce and they explained that fruit and veg are all graded at the market and the big supermarkets accept a lower graded product than what they will take. Well worth checking out.
Don’t ever buy anything that is on sale. They once sold 2 packs of raspberry for $5. Later when I checked it had fungus inside. I went back to show them but the owner was so rude. I was offered to get new raspberries but every packs had fungus. They are selling those. Is it for real! Instead of getting refund I asked them if I could buy something else but the Asian looking lady had a problem. She made a huge fuss. I will never go to such a place where they treat customers this way.
The name “Freshworld” is a bit of a stretch. I have made a few trips to this place for “fresh” fruit and veg and every time I go there, the quality is horrible. It’s old. It’s rotten. It’s expensive. You’d be better off saving your cash going to Coles to get your fruit and veg - and that’s saying something. There’s an awesome opportunity for a proper fruit market to open up and you’d win all the business from these turkeys if you just supplied actually fresh produce.
Fresh vegetables…BUT . Rotten staff that make snarky comments. Usually do a high value shop here at least once a week at this place. But no more. Train your staff!!!! Customer service matters. Willing to drive to Cherrybrook for better customer service… hope others do the same… quality gas dropped over the last 5 years…. To think that I went out of my way to support local during covid…. Hope ur business suffers like I make your customers suffer
I’ve grown up in the Hills and Fresh World usually sell the best cherries in the area. Unfortunately not this time. They were being dispensed out by a staff member (they were on special) and it wasn’t until I got home that I checked realised 2/3 of them were soft and rotten. Very disappointed. They were most likely just dumping bad stock. If I need to shop there again I’ll always insist to double check the produce.
Bought a box of cherries for Christmas. Opened it when I got home. They are all mouldy and on the base layer liquid. I would like to email the company but they have no details - only a phone with no answering service. The customer service isn't very good either when I've been in store. Not very friendly. So disappointed as it's a lot of money wasted and no cherries now for Christmas
I regularly shop here. On two recent occasions I have been the subject of unsolicited conversation/attention by male members of staff unloading fruit. On the second occasion, the staff member began making remarks of a personal nature about my appearance. I was just minding my business, doing my shopping. Management please address this problem, or I will be taking my business elsewhere!
Over the past 11 years, I have bought a HUGE amount of produce from this store, it was my 'go to' place, and would ALWAYS recommend. Over the past few months quality has been declining. I spoke to the new manager there about this, he was disinterested in my feedback. I love to support small business, and I'm really disappointed to feel the need to take my business elsewhere.
I go here often because it has great prices and the food is always fresh. I am really not even sure how the nearby Cole's makes any money in produce with this place around. The selection is pretty wide ranging though there are some vegetables or fruits that I was used to seeing in the states that I don't see here but still my go to for local produce.
I’m not surprised by all the comments. There is a lack of customer service. They don’t smile or even say hello. Transactions at the register are even more awkward as they don’t even look or talk at you. Even a staff member who slammed into my trolley didn’t even apologise. Staff could try to be friendly, it won’t kill them.
Usually happy with this store but disappointed I had to throw out one quarter of a punnet of strawberries. The moulded berries weren't obvious from the outside only when I loosened the punnet. If they were selling the strawberries on sale and had total disclosure i would not have minded, but they were sold at full price.
Consistently wonderful service by the new young cashier. I work in the mall and often visit freshworld and have been served by her about half a dozen times in the past 2-3 weeks; she is always polite, courteous and respectful. So nice to see the younger generation with old - fashioned respect and manners.
Agree with some customers that some check-out staff are not very polite, grumpy looks like they have a bad day. Cashier (behind papaya stand) put the fragile punnets of blueberries, raspberries into my bag and just dropped the papaya into it. Should be trained to load fragile items last.
Apparently these people** think it arrogant or self-centred to take the Covid social distancing rules seriously, or at least to express annoyance when no-one else does, including the staff. **: Or at least one of them, who presumed me incapable of Googling a bit of Spanish....
Unhygienic staff. Male staff entered the centre toilets wearing a glove, doesn't wash hands or change gloves then continues to process fruit and vege. Spoke to manager Anthony about the issue, seemed disinterested then proceeded to laugh about it with offending staff member.
Bought 3 punnet of raspberries today for 5 dollars. Opened them to wash before eating and found a dead bee in one and other dead insects in others, dirt and mould all over them aswell. Terrible quality, do not shop here and do not feed this fruit to your family
Great store, very friendly service! Has a variety of produce that caters for all seasons. Very knowledgeable and helpful staff. It is clear to see customer satisfaction in the customers that shop there regularly! Will continue to shop there! …
Shopping there regularly. I have been overcharged many times. Some cashiers are very slow and unskilled, always put wrong price on your item. Hope everyone who shopping there check your receipt before you leave! Otherwise you gonna be charge more!
terrible customer service..asian guy with glasses (probably the owner) told me off for picking which fruit I wanted...terrible manners..ended up going to Northwest growers at the other center..better quality and cheaper prices..FRIENDLIER staff
Very BAD shopping experience. We will never go there again. (Always check the price before you pay.) The cashier's manager can improve on her attitude.
The shop has an excellent range of produce of a high quality. I recommend it. I often buy product here that is simply not for sale at many other shops.
Excellent produce at market related price's. Shop at confidence for friendly and helpful staff and good quality merchandise. My favourite in the Hills
The veggies n fruits are fresh although prices can be on high side. You pay what you get. Very popular, others from far suburbs come here to shop.
Bought two rockmelons and both inedible, rotten from the centre. Both of them being bad suggests they are selling poor quality fruit.
Extremely bad service from a disgruntled cashier this morning. She couldn't have been any ruder. Hope her attitude improves.
Great quality and variety of produce, a little expensive but worth it. The staff are friendly too!
Great fresh produce and prices are decent. Lots of variety and I can get my Asian greens there.
Counter staffs are friendly. But a staff displaying vegi was terrible and yelling at client
Amazing... all the food was fresh, clean and plenty of it. Staff we're very helpful too
