Had the best experience buying a new road bike here! Everyone in the shop was extremely helpful and kind, and I could tell that the environment was really great. Everyone was incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and spoke not only to customers but to each other with respect. Special shout out to Ron who really took his time to help me pick out the right size frame and shoes for my specific/varying needs. At no point did I feel like I was being upsold something I didn't need and I really felt comfortable in trusting his professional opinion. He was extremely thorough and took his time answering all of my questions and really explained everything to me (pros/cons etc) so that I could make the best decisions for myself. Ron also made sure to teach me and give me some pointers on how to clip into and out of my new shoes/pedals before sending me off which I really appreciated. Honestly some of the best customer service I've ever had.
The shop has a good vibe, friendly staff. I dropped off my bike for the 4 gears service, which includes greasing bike comp. and a safety check among other things. I had asked if it was a good idea to try and fix the bike or buy a new one, I was assured that the old one would be good to ride after the service. When I picked up my bike I noticed the suspension was untouched, when I asked about it I was told that they cant do anything about it because it was an older design, and the components were worn out and should be replaced. The problem here is that I cant ride the bike with busted suspensions, it’s unsafe. I wish I was informed about this without me having to notice and ask. 300$ later and I can’t really ride the bike. Quite a dissapointing experience.
I've been dealing with other bike shops over the years and never considered Gears even though I live close by..Went in for some accessories and was impressed by the knowledge and friendliness of the staff and service department, these people are true passionate pros! I ended up buying a Specialized E bike which I love, my wife road it, and we bought her one to. Gears seems to have more inventory then all the other bike shops. These expensive E bikes were delivered without a kickstand which appears should be included and Ron has been determined with Specialized to have this resolved. Great experience!
The store was full of bikes but found the salesperson not knowledgeable at all. I just didn't get the vibe I was expecting. I found a bike and enjoying it but still wish I could have been more educated on what I bought that's why I wanted to go to a speciality store but felt like I was buying from canadian tire. I'm going to buy my kids new bikes for Christmas and I did like the selection so I'll give gears another shot but I think I'll try a different location. Sorry but I can't do better then 2 stars
Insane disregard for customer safety. Brought my older bike as its hydrolic brake line broke off by the handle. Three gusy in the shop, and I had to listen to a speech how the brakes and bike are too old and they have no equipment to repair it. Took me 10 minutes at home with a set of pliers, a knife and syringe to fix it. But had to ride without front breaks for that. What a pathetic way to loose a long time customer... My kids will be getting their bikes on Dundas street now.
Wanted to get back into road biking after 10 years with my old road bike. The staff there was extremely professional, knowledgable and treated a newbie such as myself with respect. Was not snobby or condescending like some other bike shops when they found out my old bike was from a big box store. They took the time to explain the differences in quality, fit, design and did not pressure me to buy anything. Prices very competitive with other bike shops plus much better service.
PHENOMENAL EXPERIENCE AT THIS LOCATION! I drove nearly 2 hours to visit Gears on a Sunday morning. As soon as I walked through the door I was greeted by amazing customer service from a professional and knowledgeable group of staff in a store with plenty of inventory for my wish list! BIG shoutout to Ron. You listened to my needs and wants for a new ladies bike and after test driving three varieties I found the one! My new Giant Cypress is brilliant! Thank you again.
I was very impressed by the quick service and knowledgeable and professional staff. I did not have an appointment first thing this morning and they took me right away. They diagnosed the problem with my bike tires and corrected the problem.I was on my way in notime. All the staff were great. You cannot ask for better service. I highly recommend this shop. My grand daughter will be so happy to ride her Minnie Mouse bicycle thanks to the crew at Gears Bike Shop. Bravo!
I am super chuffed that the breaks on my bike are way better now, so great job there. However i got to say the reception at the store could be a little more friendly and welcoming. Walking in, it was hard to understand who were the employees and since no one greeted I found myself just standing around by the repairs counter. Being new to cycling it's already a bit intimidating so a smile and a "hello, how can I help" could go a long way.
Even though I’ve been there a few times prior I am always impressed by the speed of service, education they give you, and great repair work to do from my bike! Had my brakes fixed for the first time and they told me what the cause was and made them 10 times better than they were!!!! I wish all places of service in Ontario were as good as these guys they are beyond phenomenal
The variety of this store is incredible, however the staff are rude. Went in, ignored by staff, asked about one item and who appeared to be the most senior staff member told their coworker to just ring it through and check us out. They were more interested in getting us out of the store than anything. Zero interest in customer service or or sharing their knowledge with customers. This was not near close hours.
I recently visited this bike shop and was thoroughly impressed. Not only did they fix my issue at a very reasonable price, but their team was incredibly knowledgeable. It’s evident they know their stuff! On top of that, they have an extensive selection of products, catering to all biking needs. Highly recommended for anyone seeking expert service and a wide range of options!
Extremely friendly and helpful staff. They were careful to ask about what services I wanted and explain why they were needed for my bike. Helped solve me endlessly replacing my own tire tubes, wasted money not getting it done by someone who knows what they are doing. I also felt zero sales pressure, only well informed of my options. Would recommend this shop to anyone.
I bought my bike less than a week ago and apparently was going to take between 7 to 9 days to get it assembled. I was lucky to get it so fast!!! However, I Can’t give a 5 star service because the sales associate that was helping us told us that in 5 to 10 minutes She was going to bring my bike and at the end she left us waiting more than 30 minutes!!
Supportive, knowledgeable, and friendly. August 2018, I was looking for a new road bike. The gears staff made some great recommendations, then a bike that was right for me was selected. The bike fit with Dai was great - first ride out (and still riding) and no adjustments have been made. The whole process was great. A great place to get your bike(s).
I broke a Derailleur cable last week mid-ride and they were the closest bike store. I've never been in before, but with 30km left to get back and it getting dark, their service people replaced the cable and got me on the road quickly. Very professional people and a great experience. I'll be back!
♥ Gears respectful pricing and customer care. Their Covid-19 system is pretty solid, including Gears branded hand sanitizer bottles. Gears Lakeshore had Shimano road brake pads 24% cheaper than another Mississauga shop (same model number, both regular price).
Just bought a bike here from Ron. He's very knowledgeable and took his time explaining everything. Great experience! I'd definitely seek out Ron when making my next purchase with Gears.
Friendly and helpful sales staff and bike mechanics. Great variety of road, gravel, mountain and e-bikes, bike accessories (helmets, saddles, water bottles, etc).
Nice place , the staff is friendly. I want to thank Mike to take care my bike anytime. The service is good and fast.
