I purchased a petrol generator which after three months failed to work. I took it back on the 3/4/2017. I asked would they call me and they said I must contact them. I have returned to the store three times only to be told it has not been looked at yet. Today 17/5/2017 i went in again and once again I was advised it is not fixed yet. Well as you can imagine I was not happy. I wanted answers and all the assistant could say it is not ready. I asked why and he could not answer. I wanted to speak to the owner apparently he was off. I demanded he call the owner and he refused. He then told me to leave and I refused. I would not leave without an answer. I told him I will call the cops to get this matter resolved. He laughed at me. In fact he told me to call consumer affairs too. Well I did call the police who advised me to get my generator back and deal with them through the courts. The police also called them to make sure they returned my generator. My generator was not touched. I have read all the posts regarding this business and I now see this is common practise.I believe they do this on purpose so customers will demand their product back not fixed and take it somewhere else to have it repaired. I will not rest until this unscrupulous business acts within the law and fixes problems as per the law. You cannot come to this country and do what you please. I bought a chainsaw and it did not work. I returned it and they gave me a second hand one that also did not work. I demanded a refund.

customer service needs greatly improving. drove 1 hour 36 minutes 2 times from Buxton to Campbellfield. and back. this was for a $150 air compressor 10 bar which was affordable. however it had a crack that I was not aware of and was told it had been repaired ( had new gasket). saw the negative reviews and regretted have given them a chance due to being on a disability pension and seeking the cheaper one. I was refunded my money but they refused to refund for my travel time and fuel expense and said to go through VCAT I have been back twice since to try and claim my loss of time and fuel when I had to come this way which very rarely happens. the first time they were closed and the second time the owner of the place was there. he said for me to go through VCAT and if I win I get money back but I don't think you will. not sure if the hassle is worth it however the ratings for this company should be half a star due to the many complaints and the principle of the matter. I'd strongly recommend not coming here if you live a long way off and the risk of poor customer service according to reviews. Regarding Michael oudys statement, I did get $40 but that didn't account for lost time and productivity let alone the km cost all the way down and up 4 times from Buxton. On a disability pension and having disabilities I felt trapped by these peoples attitude towards my frustration at lack of sensitivity.

Really good prices and affordable for reasonable quality of imported machinery. Purchased an air compressor from them via Ebay. The same thing Australian made would have been 3 x more expensive. Happy with the product overall. However, the communication and customer service are absolutely terrible. Literally asking them a question 10 times, they give you any answer but not what you have actually asked them. Seems like speaking a foreign language with them. Took weeks of multiple emails to finally get an answer of the shipping measurements to ship interstate. Wanted to charge me 2 x times of the shipping quote on their website. Then admitted that the website quote was incorrect but yet were still trying to push for a higher charge. Utter incompetence. However, I finally received the product which is as described and of a good quality. 5 stars for the product, 1 star for customer service and competence. Overall - 3.

Don't buy online, you may not get what you ordered. Ordered a 2" hose with fittings, didn't get the fittings. I tried to contact them by email....they ignored my email. I finally Chatted on the phone and I was asked to send photo proof to a mobile number. So I sent photos again of their website and my tax invoice showing "hose with fittings. ".....A couple days later.... no reply. Ring them again to be told they don't sell hoses with fittings. So I sent photos again. I was told "don't trust what's written in the listing (or my tax invoice apparently), you have to go by the photos." The listing had photos of hoses with and without fittings. Finally got told to post the product back at my expense.....only then will they refund me. I asked for the refund first and he said he "can't trust me to send the item back". Dodgy practice with poor customer service.

WARNING WARNING WARNING WARNING serious keep away from this guy / business i am totally amazed how this business is still operating and even not been on TV he will use every excuse in the book not to give you warranty i purchased a brand new log splitter paid cash i have only had it for six months and each time an item fails he finds a way of not fixing the problem and i have also investigated his 5 star reviews which were paid people to place the reviews again WARNING WARNING WARNING KEEP AWAY they are all pre used returned items and resold as NEW.

Went intothe shop to buy a generator that was advertised on marketplace by the owner as 4 KVA for $550.When i rang to see if it was available i was upgaded to 4.5kva for the same price.l asked them to hold it for me because I had a 2hr drive. When I got to the shop and paid for the generator the sales docket and the label on the generator said 3.2kva.When I questioned the owner he used a pen to change the receipt to 4.5KVA.I questioned the owner and got my money back, but wasted a 2hr drive each way.It is still for sale as a 4.5kva,beware.

Saw a pump advertised on line at 30 litres per minute, which I didn't believe for the price. Went in to the shop and asked is this rated at 30 litres per minute (8 gallons per minute). Was told yes. Purchased it. A week later when I had some time to set it up, I read the manual and it recommends a water supply of 5 gallon per minute. Just checked eBay and all the pumps at now rated at 14 litres per minute, which matches the performance I am getting out of this one. Not overly happy. Pump works fine, just doesn't do what I bought it for.

I've had a horrible experience with GPT Tools. I purchased a brand new tool for $1150. It was faulty to begin with and could not be used. Returned it requesting refund. They said they had the right to repair it, but they couldn't fix it and gave it back to me. Many months and 4 shop visits later (2hr journey). No refund, no repair, no returning calls and they won't tell me who their supplier is or where to get parts. Just lies upon lies. Complete breach of Fair Trade act, they are a law unto themselves. Don't trust them.

These guys are ok, they are a discount store, I have been very impressed with their range and pricing and they have been honest with all my purchases. They also keep a lot of Aldi range you won't get when its not in their stores. Across the board, because they are cheaper the Chinese tools will not have the tolerance to buffer inexperienced operators or last under adverse conditions, but they are getting better all the time. What you see is what you get, price included.

Purchased 7.5HP Industrial Air Compressor 180L tank . 5 Months later compressor leaked air did not switch off. Ruddiest person Gabrielle reply " SO BRING IT IN I WILL LOOK AT IT " Explained it was very large , answered SO then hung up the phone. Not very happy i got a table saw today for $150.00 that was great and i got a blade that was $99.00 so i asked the man if he could do better and he said yes he can and said $70.00 but when i came home and checked my receipt he charged me $249.00. I find that very dishonest, so i will never go there again and i advise you who do shop there to look carefully at your receipt. Car parking is also very hard.

Purchased a factory second lawn mower after less than 2 months it has now broken down and I have been told they won’t fix it and I need to get it serviced. There website says warranties are 6 months to 3 years. No where on their website does it say 30days warranty for factory seconds. This is unacceptable I will be taking this matter to the ACCC and I will never be shopping in your store again.

Very Rude man and poor customer services. Secondly the tools which he sales are repaired by his own mechanic. They are not factory second hand. I bought lawn mover 3 months ago which last long for only 2 months. I bought again lawn mover from him last week that mover is modified and repaired. He told me factory second hand but its modified with only 2 blades instead of 4 blades.

I bought a power washer which started first time on setup which is always great. however there was an issue with the nozzle fitting on the wand. it was a tad too big. I have emailed and called 3 times now with no response. The service is atrocious. I thought the service at Sydney tools couldn't get any worse, but I was wrong. The issue still hasn't been resolved.

Purchased 58 ton log splitter, took 5 hours to assemble(& I’m an automotive trainer & plant mechanic)no instructions, & many things needed repair or adjustment before assembly. ABSOLUTE RUBISH. Doesn’t even split hard wood. Called the owner & was told if I wanted quality to pay more, he was very rude. BEWARE DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS BUSINESS

Good selection of tools and good prices, however bad customer service. Picked up a wheelbarrow and on inspection at home had a couple of rust spots. The shop would not offer a credit and asked me to bring it back. What a joke. Clearly been scratched and sitting in the rain. Inspect your items carefully before purchase.

Nowhere near as big as the big tool shops but has a lot of tools, just not several brands of the same thing. The $295 air compressor we needed urgently was cheap but exceeded our expectations.
