The pictures don't fully capture the essence of the entire restaurant. Stumbled upon this place while being scared away by Blue Jam Restaurant's 1 hour wait for brunch on Sunday morning (few doors down of this place). Talk about getting lost! Once you enter the white, drawn curtains....you are in France. You will be greeted by a kind, French bartender that will walk you through their extensive French wine list (reds, whites, and rose), cheese platters, or even brunch if you arrive by 3pm on the weekend! We ordered of their brunch menu: $12 Francine which is a beautiful presentation of two over-easy eggs, buttered toast, side of fresh bananas and strawberries lightly sprinkled with powdered sugar. I'll be honest, the portions are very French and not large whatsoever (like you may need to grab a cheeseburger shortly after). To drink, we ordered a $4 latte and their must try $5 Tea Mariage Marcol Polo which is a black tea with fruity undertones. The tea is exquisite and had soft hints of fruit to stimulate your tastebuds. They offer 25 tea packets for $30 inside to take some home to savor another time. We didn't get to try their French wines, but will definitely venture back to this lovely spot soon. Great location for romantic date, informal business meetings, or even group meet up. Despite the complaints, I didn't mind the restaurant selling material goods. There are various art pieces, clothing, backpacks, and other trinkets sold. All of the pieces are made by French artists and placed in clever nooks to blend in with the vintage decor of the location.

This establishment is both a wine bar and coffee shop. A couple of friends and I came here after going to a group show of young artists' work at a temporary 'pop up' gallery space nearby. (There was nicer art on the walls here, than in the gallery space, by the way.) We had coffee, tea and tapas style snacks. The place has a nice, warm, cozy neighborhood feel to it, and reminded me of the wine bars one used to find on West B'way during the height of the SOHO gallery scene back home in NYC. The only drawback (and it's a minor one) is that, with only the barman (possibly the owner/operator himself) on duty that evening, and a decent number of other patrons to attend to, I had to remind him to bring us our second order of finger food. Nice place. I'll be coming back next time I'm in this area of DTLA.

Impressive wine selection but let down on the tapa options. Ordered the parisian, olives, and combination charcuterie plate and was disappointed by the quality of cheeses and portion of meats. It wasn’t horrible by any means, just a let down. Jazz night was quite nice and the atmosphere is super cute, inside you dont feel like youre in the Springs Arcade building in the middle of DTLA. Would recommend for someone who wants to sit down, chill and have a glass of good quality wine. Apparently there are interesting pop-ups hosted here like eclair.la

Awesome!!!!! Had the evening (Sunday evening) to open in downtown before flying back to Dallas. Love wine and decided to go to Garçons. We choose well. Great people. Great service. We got a free fence wine lesson!!! We know our wine, with a strong emphasis on California. We drank, had great char and cheese board!!! Highlight of the trip and it was just a last stop before flying home. If you like wine and want to venture into France. This is a great place to start.

I adore this place. If you are familiar with French wines, you will be delighted with the selections, their quality and the pricing. If you are not we'll acquainted with French wines, this is the perfect place for an introduction with absolutely no pressure to purchase to buy. The retail offerings are for those looking for original, hand made merchandise. This is a friendly, casual and very approachable place to meet friends or make new ones.

Fantastic evening yesterday at Garçons de Café, downtown Los Angeles, for a special event with Chef of Cafe Leza. Whenever you come, you will find a curated selection of French wine (and wine from all around the world) and the owner, Mathieu, will help you to pair it with delicious cheese and charcuterie plates. No wonder it is called « your extension living-room ». I will come back!

Whether DTLA is your destination, or you live in the neighborhood, this very cozy winebar is a gem for everyone looking for a place to -chill-. I love coming here for a glass of wine, have an easy evening at such a welcoming environment… running into local artists performing some days a week and regulars from the block. Always a good time! Mathieu curates a fun wine selection for all wine lovers & offers delicious bites

This spot is thee go-to place any day of the week but highly recommend Wednesday's which are jazz night! The atmosphere is perfect, Mathieu makes you feel right at home. The wine is spectacular and the snacks offered are divine. Happy hour 5-7 can't go wrong! I feel like I'm not in DTLA when I'm here. It's a mini escape and advise everyone to pop in. Oh & make sure you have either a sandwich or crème brûlée, or both ;)

Went to Garçon de Cafe yesterday, and it is a great new addition to the neighborhood! Chill vibe and and a nice contrast to Pour Haus in the Arts District. The owners are very knowledgeable about their exclusively French wine selection, and you can purchase any bottle from their selection. It is a great date spot, and it's one block away from Clinftons which makes a great place to go afterwards. Take my money!

Loved the host. He is very sweet and professional of explaining the different types of wine while my two friends and I tried the pair of baguette with hummus, hint of paprika, chopped black olives and wine. It was a very interesting acquired taste. My friends and I enjoyed the wine and pairing and the service. I'm definitely coming back for more.

Delightful place with a good old world wine list, truly delicious cheeses in Meats available for an appetizer or light dinner. The bartender is very knowledgeable about wine and will suggest things that are within your budget. Wonderful Decor leather furniture a great place for an intimate date. Romantic and upscale in a casual way. I would definitely recommend this place for a date night.

  • G. Christensen

Really charming and especially good wine. The man behind the bar recommended well at first and then betrayed a distinct lack of interest. Was he yawning as he poured? I think so. So we ended up with some expensive fruity things which rushed us out. Generally took 10-20 to walk over to our table. Snacks were presented well, however. Delicious little pickles...

We organized an Apero Francophone here for the Bastille day and it was just a great night. The bartender and owner was overwhelmed with how many people we brought but kept it up all night. Kept their calmed and served out orders one by one. Beautiful little parisien bar in Los Angeles!

Mainly a wine spot but I got a cappuccino here and it was good(lots of froth, good temperature, descent flavor). Great ambience and the indoor seating feels super homely and a great spot to take a date. I’d definitely come back here for the wine and I’ll reupdate my review.

Hidden gem in downtown LA. A $15 3-wine tasting is available before 8pm and the French staff talked us through the wines with great knowledge and enthusiasm .

Love the wines and the space. Thomas was really fun to chat with, and the alley way they're located on looks like it's been plucked right out of Paris.
