I am a lifelong SLC resident and have frequented the Gateway in the past. I got a parking ticket in May while parked in a spot that I believed was public city parking. There were no signs indicating that it was private parking, so, being that it was well after 6 pm, I didn't feed the meter. I received a ticket, which is understandable, but the frustrating thing is you cannot call anyone to talk to, and you can only dispute online, which I did, giving an explanation as to why I hadn't paid the meter. I had absolutely zero response back about the status of the dispute, even though you have to enter an email address if you are dipsuting. I had to keep checking the site, and finally, the status on their site showed that I owed $50.00! $50.00 dollars for a parking ticket! No explanation for the decision. No email regarding anything about it. Nothing. So, Gateway management, you got your money for the parking, but if that's the way you want to treat your patrons, then never again will I spend a single dollar for entertainment, shopping or dining at the Gateway Plaza.
We attended the Urban Arts Festival at Gateway today. It was terrific. We found several items to purchase & the atmosphere was very pleasant. Lots of shade and comfortable places to sit in between looking at the art. We ate at Comfort Bowls which was delicious. There was good entertainment to listen to as well. We went back to the Urban Arts Festival 2022 today. Again, it was very enjoyable. We found many items to purchase. The festival is free and on Sunday the parking is free too. We look forward to going to this festival each summer.
I attended the winter farmers market today with my service animal (not an emotional support animal, an actual service animal) and would not recommend it. The woman working the market as a whole did not know ADA protocols. She asked improper questions and treated me with mistrust and judgement. I would not recommend this space for those with disabilities or service animals. The market has potential and I wish I could have been able to support local businesses.
I sure do have a soft spot for The Gateway. I wish that a solution could be found to having some actual shops to shop at there like there once was. Such a rad facility with so much potential. I do love that they are able to host things like The Urban Flea Market and the chalk art installations. The Urban Arts Gallery is rad too! They also do a great job at keeping it clean all things considered. Let’s get some more businesses in there, guys!
An awesome mall to walk around and explore. The outdoor areas are super fun and have some cool artwork and murals. The outdoor markets are always fun to visit with lots of cool local vendors and delicious homemade treats. Great restaurants, good candy shops, and other great stores. The Gateway is an awesome local mall with less mega corporations than other malls. Highly recommend definitely checking this one out!
This place used to be very busy. It went through a slump in 2008/2009. It has made a pretty solid comeback. The fountains on the north end in the summer & then Christmas tree lighting in the winter. The movie theater is big. I think it’s starting to get more shoppers lately. The parking is not very good & they’d definitely get more consistency with shoppers if they’d offer free parking.
The plaza is a really cool place to be. Literally, the fountains will keep you cool. Super fun place to visit! So many cool Stores and things to do. It was a little quiet. Not a lot of people. There is fountains and a cute little candy store. There is hotels and the Planetarium along with some restaurants and the Dave & Busters arcade with s restaurant in it! Overall my family loved it!
The atmosphere is neat, and the children's museum was fun. We got there a little before it opened. Construction was going on. We had a hard time finding a restroom, and when we did the hallway to it, it was locked. So that sucked. Had to walk to the other end of the plaza to go. There are not a lot of kid friendly dining options.
The plaza was nice but some work needs to be done on the bathrooms. The bathroom's ought to be checked periodically. I think someone was living in the stall in the men's room. I enjoyed the misters and the lighting. It was comfortable to sit and just visit with my wife while we waited for our movie time.
Sad to see soooo many of the stores gone but then nice to see new ones. Haven't been here in few yrs. Covid raised & caused way too much havoc & chaos. Destroyed Alot sadly. Hope the mall & everywhere will someday be able to come back & rebuild the strength & unity once again
Not as many stores as there used to be. But it is the off season so I'm hoping to see it gerting more popular again. It was a bit creepy walking around at night. But the vibe is wasn't bad. The place was pretty chill. I'd go back. Especially when it's a little warmer.
This place is a lot of fun and quite a bit of things to do for free and for money depending on what you're looking for. They do a good job of keeping the place safe, especially considering how this area can get.
The gateway works hard to keep this place clean! I love the water features and the fake grass. The tables with the swings are fun and all the sitting areas with shade are fantastic!
The plaza is surrounded by businesses and has a few interesting sculptures and landscaping elements. Some parts currently under construction, but still accessible.
Lots of shops and restaurants. Different murals in every corner were beautiful to see. Near other landmarks, public city library, churches. Definitely recommend!
I admitted I am totally spoiled from the lettuce and salad miy to the fresh mushrooms all year round I can't just eat normal grocery store stuff anymore.
Absolutely beautiful! Full of cool unique shops and restaurants! Beautifully maintained. So many gorgeous flowers! Happy vibes and good people are here.
Family photos never were so fun. Stars earlier many come for the same reason with so many things and areas for friends, family or all by yourself!
Pretty art exhibits. Wishing there were more stores and more things to do. A lot of the shops I had once gone to are no longer there.
Not much there. We were visiting and thought we went to City Creek. We walked around for a few minutes and were very underwhelmed.
They need to add more businesses to this place. There are only 3 attractive places here Clarks Planetarium, Discovery, and cinema
I love this little plaza and the remodeling has been great. So many great little shops and the movie theater is incredible.
Nice place, it got better after the cleanup and relocating the homeless population. Enjoyed the car show.
I loved how the gateway has evolved is always pretty, I wish they add soon more places to eat and shop.
Absolutely love coming to salt lake city and seeing the gateway!! If you haven't you need to
Always something to go to o here, lots of people, happiness is in the air whenever I visit!
The parking garage experience ruined it for me, took me 30 minutes to get out
It was a great place for the Italian festival.
