I'm not one to leave reviews, but for this I have to - I had to have my intake manifold gasket changed and already had it booked at a shop to have done - but that shop was bought out and was no longer doing engine repair . Long story short I had already paid for the parts and was able book it in with TJ at Gear Up. Not only did he give me a quote that was lower than anywhere else I had tried - but he also understood my situation and didn't hesitate when I told him I already had the parts - unlike a few other shops that didn't want to do the work if they couldn't order and upcharge the parts to me. Work was performed and when I picked my vehicle up I had a good chat with TJ about another small issue I had been having and he gave me some advice on that as well! He also showed me my old worn parts and why I needed the repair without me asking which I always like! I believe that when you find a mechanic that is not only knowledgeable, but you don't have to second guess - it's worth it's weight in gold - and honestly I have already told as many people as I can about this shop and will be taking my vehicle there for any other repairs or maintenance that I need. These guys are magicians. I have spent over 3000 dollars and almost about 2 years at a local dealership mechanic shop battling a mysterious noise and pull from the passenger wheel area on my 2013 jeep. They would slap on parts and just keep adding on hours of work with excuses after of why the problem keeps happening. But the team at gear up tackled the issue like it was nothing with only an hour of diagnosis time and finding out the problem without me having to shell out thousands of dollars on new parts and labour.the team at gear up had this jeeps steering and control brand new for under 200 dollars compared to the other places where it was always upwards of 1000 for each visit. They are for the people and not out to steal your money like many people assume about mechanics i couldn't be happier with the service and knowledge they provide at this amazing shop.

Must say that these guys are here to help you fix your car problems with genuine and truthful answers. Got my oil change at my dealership and was told by them that I should also get my transmission service cause it's over 60K and my help filter change (total would be over $350). Told them next time since I didn't schedule enough time to include those services and I preferred to have a second opinion too. Called Gear Up and they said sure bring it in. Mike looked through my car manual and told me that according to it, if you don't haul things or drive a ridiculous amount similar to a cab driver, then it's recommended that you get your transmission serviced at 160K and there's no need to do it now. He just changed my heppa filter and away I go.

The company I work for has been taking our work trucks to Gear Up for as long as I've worked there,and they are nothing but hard working and honest people, and do impeccable work. TJ and his team and very knowledgeable and extremely friendly,and walk you through the process they take, and explain what needs to be addressed now and what can wait. I've never had an experience at Gear Up where I felt pressure to get work above and beyond what I originally walked in for, and I always walk away confidentiality knowing I was treated fairly. I would HIGHLY recommend Gear Up as a trustworthy, honest and straight talking business. TJ and the team have always treated me with respect,and I know they'll do the same for you.

The owner of this company is very dishonest. Bought a car off TJ where he stated everything was working perfectly and he just did a full tune up on it (spark plugs, water pump, new battery etc). Flew out to Edmonton to buy it as I lived in another province and on the drive back it started to overheat. I let TJ know about it and he said it needs a new thermostat (no big deal I thought). Got it changed and it kept overheating. Then it wouldn't blow any warm air. Took it in to my mechanic where I found out it has a leaking head gasket, also the water pump and plugs were not changed like TJ said he did.....Cost me just under $8000 to fix everything. We ended up replacing the entire engine. Do not trust this guy!!!!

Brought my Lexus in for a stud replacement and brake change. TJ noticed that I was missing a couple more nuts for my tires and replaced them for free. Once the rear brakes were changed there was a noise coming from the front that wasn't there when I brought it in. Since they were now closed I tried calling anyways and guess what, they answered! I brought my vehicle back, they took me in even though it was well after closing and resolved the problem. I was most impressed by the extra mile TJ and Nav went to make me a happy customer. The dealership may have virtual golfing or a sky deck but for the amount of money they saved me and the relaxed atmosphere, I will definitely be back!!

I've been going to Gear Up Auto Services for all of my car issues and they get the job done right, every time. These guys take pride in the work they do, and always go above and beyond when i bring my car in. I can't think of a single Autoshop that washes your car after it's been fixed. They also fixed a few issues that no other company could for a ridiculously fair price, while other companies were trying to charge me at least a thousand dollars without knowing what the actual problem is. TJ and Mike are extremely friendly and passionate about what they do. I highly recommend using Gear Up Auto Services if you are having issues with your vehicle.

I had a noise from my car, I took it into Gear Up Auto on a recommendation. They found the problem in my wheel bearing and quoted me. I asked them to hold off as I wanted to call different places for a quote. I called 5 different places for a quote on the work Gear Up was doing and they were the best priced. I was hoping that the price wouldn't affect the quality of the work, but that was definitely not the case. I have experienced no problems since my vehicle was fixed. The staff was really friendly and understanding. I've found my new auto shop, and highly recommend you try it should any situation arise. Time to gear up!

Man these goes are good. They fixed my truck without me having to buy parts after one mechanic had made me buy parts that he ended up not being able to install becoz it couldn't solve the problem. Michael, the owner has to be one of the last of a rare breed of mechanics out there who are mechanics because they have a passion for it and exceptional at their trade and not out to fleece you of your hard earned cash. Here's a test, take your vehicle to the dealer...cough...cough...stealer, have them tell you how many 'issues' it has and how many arms and legs you have to lose, then take it to these guys and see.

Michael fixed the front bumper on my car when he was doing mechanical work on the side. Did a great job and the bumper looked like new! He is very personable and passionate about his job. He makes sure to let you know what he will be doing every step of the way, and doesn't attempt to take advantage or up sell you if you don't know much about cars which I find a lot of mechanics do. Very reasonably priced! Was happy to hear that he now is running his own business . Went to get my windshield wipers fixed today and he went above and beyond even for such a simple fx. Would definitely recommend!

I am driving for 30 years and used several shops to get my car repair. This was the best experience so far. I dropped off the car in morning, It need several things fixed, ie catalyst converter, oil change, low tire pressure warning, it shakes during turn. He called me withing 2 hours with estimate and fixed my car in the afternoon. The labour and the parts were very reasonable. I got "A " plus service with very affordable price. If you look for good service price would be high, if you want low price service, service would not be good. But at Gear up Auto, you get both service and price.

TJ saved my life today, while I was driving to my office ,on the way I noticed a noise which was very loud from front of my car, I took my car to TJ, besides being very busy he right a way helped me. He inspected my car and noticed that 3 nuts of front side of driver side were very loose and if I had driven for more than 2 kms my tire would have been come out and there might have been a big accident. TJ is our family tech. we are proud to be in safe hand of TJ, who has more than 15 years of experience in his field, he is very honest, reasonable and clear . God Bless him and his business.

Dropped off a vehicle for a clutch cylinder repair. The cylinder was replaced, however as a consequence of the repair, the gear shifter sticks, up to a point where it was unsafe to drive (during the repair, they were disconnecting the shifter cables). The owner first ignored the issue saying it's working fine, and eventually after numerous conversations offered a $200 credit for an additional repair that cost me $600 on top of a $1400 repair. As a comparison, I was quoted $1200 from a dealership for the same work, and very much regret I didn't take my vehicle there.

Took our Honda Pilot to the dealership to change over to winter tires. They failed to tell us that we needed new brakes and they did not balance the tires when they put them on. Vehicle began to shake while driving. Went back to the dealership and they quoted me a ridiculous price for new brakes, rotars and balancing Took the vehicle to Gear Up Auto and they did the above and more all while saving me over $400. The service was educational and fast. Best of all the staff was extremely knowledgeable. Thanks for everything and keep doing business the way you do.

Shout out to TJ from gear up auto. He's my go to guy for anything I need. My vehicle was in his shop couple of weeks back for oil change. He did a thorough inspection as a courtesy and guided me to get the leak checked at the Lexus dealership since my vehicle is under warranty. He went above and beyond and booked my vehicle in at the Lexus dealership so I can get the issue resolved asap. Appreciate your help TJ, you saved me $4000. For people out there, Other mechanics would take advantage of you, go see him if you want a trustworthy mechanic.

Our 2015 Acura RDX has been nowhere else for servicing since we bought it from Alberta Auto back then. Gear Up Auto has all the service info and experience necessary to keep our vehicle in great condition and never disappoints. TJ, Nav and staff can be trusted to do the same work as the Acura/Honda Edmonton dealers for much less, and keeps detailed records of each client’s vehicle. If you really don’t need something done or replaced on your vehicle, TJ will tell you. We trust Gear Up Auto! Highly recommended . :)

Great service! The dealership put in a faulty part and subsequently insisted I needed another part as the problem wasn't fixed. Michael dealt with the dealership on my behalf to insist that another part shouldn't be required and the problem should have been fixed. Through Michael's campaigning the dealership determined the part was actually faulty and once the faulty part was replaced no additional parts or work was required. Gear Up is also very honest about what needs to be done immediately and what can wait.

Fantastic experience!!! I had three of my cars got tuned up and repaired. TJ who worked on all 3 cars is very honest and knowledgeable mechanic. He performed initial inspection than called me to see if I wanted the repair done. He gave me price for each repair individually. So when I received my car back I didn't have any surprise on my bill. One thing for sure it is very difficult to find honest and knowledgeable mechanic with great customer service. I would recommend these guys to anyone.

Excellent service, I brought my 13 ram in with some electrical issues . After being quoted more then 4000$ from dodge I thought I would give this place a a shot .. turns out they fixed my truck for a fraction of the cost I was quoted. This is a clean small locally ran shop with certified technicians that have experience working with many import and domestic brands. I'm glad I was able to support a local company and actually get real customer service unlike most car dealers.

We had an emergency with our van and the steering. The team at Gear Up got us in that day, recognising that we have only 1 vehicle to drive our 3 kids in, and got the work completed amazingly fast. Previously we had a quote from a dealership for the same work at it was $500 more expensive than what Gear Up charged us. Additionally, Gear Up completed extra work like a check up, oil change, and fluid top up. I would recommend this team to everyone.

Terrific service. Will definitely be coming back. They really care about their clients and charge a very fair price. They were able to locate a well priced rim for me and did more thorough shopping around/advocating for me on a good price, as many stores were trying to charge an inflated amount for just one rim. Was also able to get in super fast the following day (dropped my car off in the evening the day before). 10/10

I needed to get some regular servicing/maintenance on my Lexus and didn't want to pay an arm and a leg for it through the dealership. Gear Up was recommended by a friend of mine and I'm glad I went because I saved a lot of money. Gear Up was honest with me whereas the dealership was trying to get me to pay for work that didn't even need to be done! Its nice to know that there are still honest mechanics around.

This shop is hands-down the best mechanic service I have yet to find in Edmonton. I showed up mid morning at their place of business and needed some work done in a very short period of time, without blinking they fit me in and took care of the issues I was having with my vehicle right away. The mechanics are great at what they do and they for sure are my new mechanic shop. I would highly recommend for sure.

I Brought these guys a 1992 turbo supra with a blown headgasket and multiple issues. The team here at Gear Up went above and beyond what I had asked and even stayed after hours to meet my special requests. The price was absolutly amazing and the work was even better. Outstanding service! I had quotes from other places that were upwards of 1000 dollars. I came here and the work was only 650. The tech Mike came from the back shop with the part he replaced and explained what the part did and why it needed to be replaced. What a great experience. The other staff are super friendly 2. Definitely would recommend this place.

TJ is a great guy and an awesome mechanic. Took my Nissan in for a check up, and he was fully transparent. He made a detailed list of what had to be done right away, and what could wait for the future. He fixed the brakes and headlights up quickly and at a great price, and got me a fantastic quote for new tires. Take your car here, end of story.

I had my vehicle in for a service but asked TJ to do a check over as we hadn’t had our rav4 in the shop for a while. They noted some items on my invoice to watch for but weren’t required to fix yet. They also noted then on file so hey can check on them for next time when I am in which is a bonus. VIP service and a great price, I will be back.

I have to say out of all the shops I've been to, this has been the most friendly and organized business in the automotive industry from what I've been through. Mike is one most honest mechanic I ever met. He went above and beyond. I came in for a transmission filter change. he have took all my sensor light off off my dash free of charge. He given me many options to how to repair my suv. *edit Mike has also change my clock to the correct time*

Originally took my car to a chain to look at my brakes and was told all rotors and drums needed replacing. Took it to Gear Up after reading reviews and got a 2nd opinion. They told me the drums were more than fine, thus saving me a lot of $$$. Great to deal with, friendly service.
