Awesome traditional Greek family owned burger joint that used be in every Chicago neighborhood (a rarity today). It's the kind of place we're you come back a second time and they remember you and what ordered that last time. Lots of table and booth seating as well as counter seats so you can sit and see your food made. Generous portions. The girls work really hard to please and make sure to get your order the way you like it or get it fixed (I'm not a fan of tip jars, but for these girls I'd make the exception; please consider being generous in tipping as they are in providing awesome service). Besides the burger, gyros, Italian beefs, and well a wall for a menu that includes Greek salad, chili and soup of the day, they even have ice cream as well as milk shakes. Looking for the CEO? A friend of mine wanted to check our George’s. I have to say the exterior I didn’t know what to expect. The food, I have to say was top notch! I did really enjoy the gyro and fries a special. Was enough food to be full. Easily one of my top gyro spots I have tried in my life time. The service was good too. A very large party was a head of us. Definitely felt like the wait staff really was on there A game! I like how nice everyone was to us. The ambiance, initially I didn’t know what to think. After sitting down it did feel like everyone who was there were regulars. I did like the decor that was on the walls, make the vibe very homey. Overall, I would say anyone who wants to get a good gyro. I would say that’s the go to. You won’t be disappointed.

I use to come here as a kid but then i left the neighborhood. When I came back around I thought they had closed but they had only moved down the street as I recently found out. I went back recently and its still as great as I remember. Same owners but I believe it's his daughters running it now and they did not disappoint while being sassy and real (true Soxsiders)but not rude. They took care of me and my son with super food And laughs . I had the Gyro which was the best I've had in a long time. We also ordered Dbl bacon cheeseburger Italian Sausage so delicious and their beefaronni soup i plan to go back soon and make this a spot I frequent again like I did when I was a kid. Thanks George's for giving me some of my childhood back with your great food and service. Check them out . You won't be disappointed

So tonight was my first night trying George's. I've been craving a gyro for 2 weeks. Since I've been hearing about George's lately (Instagram, Chicago's Best most recently) I decided to stop. I got the gyro special and beef-a-roni soup. Couldn't wait to get home to break into it. I gotta say when I took the gyro out of the bag I was disappointed. It didn't look all that big, to be honest. BUT WAIT...... I unwrapped this thing and it doubled in size!!! It's like the ladies that made it were trained by the sushi roller pros. Or like when you get a small fried rice from the Chinese takeout and there's actually 2lbs of rice in that little box. Same thing with this gyro!! It was packed with meat. It was delicious. The beef-a-roni was a little too salty for me, but still tasty. I will definitely be back to try more. Thanks for a new place for me to eat in the neighborhood.

I am a fan of Chicago's Best, and I saw George's Restaurant featured on an episode. You do not want to know how many times I have driven by this place. When I entered the restaurant, the staff greeted me with a smile. Although "chicken on a pita" was the featured meal, I tried the gyro. The pita had the right amount of char, the thin strips of generously seasoned meat spilled out of the pita, and the tomato and onions were garden fresh. No sauce on the sandwich. I always ask for tzatziki sauce on the side. The fries were good too. George's is so close to home. I cannot believe I drove to 130th for years to buy a gyro. I will be back to try the chicken on a pita.

I almost feel reluctant to give a review because I have only eaten 3 things from this restaurant: the gyro platter, the chicken gyro platter, and the Greek salad. But I’ve been there like 30 times. I guess you could say those 3 meals are so damn good I’m almost apprehensive to try anything else but I happen to know everything there is just incredible. This place is really a throw back style gyro joint- very cool staff, nice friendly neighborhood vibe, great food and orders are filled quickly- if you want a gyro or good Greek short order look no further and it’s literally on the corner of 35th and Halsted so it’s easy to get to even from the X-pressway!!!

High-quality classic Greek diner, exceptional food and lovely staff. Family owned old school Chicago joint, will definitely be back. Large roster of diner food, everything I've had there was very good. Get the "seasoned fries," their crispy thin-curly curly fries are to die for. Everyone there is super friendly, feels like a real community space. Support places like this, it's just as inexpensive as mcdonalds or burger king and FAR better food/environment. Plus you're supporting local community members rather than a faceless international corporation.

I ordered the gyro sandwich only. This was by far the saltiest gyro meat I had ever tried. It was so salty that my tongue was numb within few minutes and my lips were cracked. If you have hypertension, maybe this is not the place for you. Prepare for your fingers to be like sausages the next morning and to possible have a stroke. This is my absolute favorite place in the neighborhood! Been coming here for years! They recently remodeled which looks amazing! Their prices are cheap/reasonable and the food is always fresh and delicious! A very special place to get good quality affordable food, AMAZING soup selections and more than reasonably priced combo meals. A real staple of the community with that old school Bridgeport feel. It's like the "Cheers" of the neighborhood. Elaine and the rest of the staff always provide excellent service and make you feel like part of the neighborhood. They literally know most customers on a first name basis. I've been a loyal regular here now for more than 20 years and will continue to do so. But take my word for it. Stop in and see for yourself! I walked in with high expectations after a friend told me its a must. It is!They have amazing burgers. Fantastic burgers. Fantastic fries. Fantastic apps. Excellent service. We stopped in for lunch on a Thursday and were seated immediately. The ambiance is hip. The music was as tasty as the burgers. Vegetarians need not despair there are a number of items on the menu to choose from that can satisfy almost any palate. They offer a great range of delicious food. I love dining here. The employees are always very welcoming rates are reasonable and the spot is always clean.

I mean it's George's, it's a great fast food/ junk food dive sorta place. I will say the ladies running the place are exceptional. They memorize everything and bring you your order Asap. If you don't have time to wait skip this place and go elsewhere though. There's always a long long line.

Gotta love it. I went to Freddie's on 31st for a Italian beef paying $18.73 for one beef and one fry. It wasn't worth it in any kind of way. It was as if I cheated on George's and downgraded myself. You wont go wrong with the real "Chicagos best" Italian beef!!!

Try anything with **chicken breast** on it.... salad, pita bun, wrap and you'll love it. 100%.great place for a quick bite that's CHEAP ...... FYI. Chicken takes 15 minutes cooked FRESH (tastes marinated?). I usually get Chicago Bears special double cheese burger, fries, pop, cheap and excellent quality, always cooked to order ! **Oh and the cream of chicken rice is always excellent.... I wish they had fresh cut lemon but, no biggie!!

This place is amazing! The food is fantastic and you will not find better in the area for what they offer. Its one of the very few places around were they serve you your food and you eat first and pay as you leave. It is family run and the atmosphere makes you feel comfortable and like your in a family restaurant. The prices are really good and the portions are large.

Ever since my wife left me and my hamster died I haven't had much to look forward to. George's Gyro's is one of the exceptions. Despite the name they have more than just gyros. They also have soup. If they don't have it on the menu here, you don't need to be eating it. If you live in Bridgeport, you're already eating here. If not, do yourself a favor. Eat George's.

Wow I’m so glad I went here. Got a gyro and onion rings for less than 8 bucks. I’m not even halfway done and I’m already full. Gyro is fresh onion rings are great. The place was quick and the lady even brought my food to the car when I couldn’t pay the meter. This is gonna be my new go to spot.

You can tell when people enjoy where they work :) The waitstaff have a sense of humor, and the service is top notch. I got a gyro special, and a beef mozz for my other half. The portions are so big, and the sandwiches are delicious. The shakes are yummy, too. Well done, George!

The GYRO was literally the best I've ever had. The meat was sliced thin and I didn't choke on any of it. The sauce was amazing. Glad I got an extra cups worth. Add more tomatoes next time guys.

I have been there before and purchased the Gyro special but then I saw them on Chicago"s Best promoting their Grilled chicken pita and I knew that the next time I went there, I was going to try it. I got the grilled chicken pita and it was gooood! Also got a Gyro for later!

I saw this restaurant on Chicago's Best and decided to take the trip there. Well, it was worth it. The staff was exceptionally friendly and the food was fresh and good. I'm returning for sure. Thank you George's!!!

Very recently one of my frnds suggest me this restaurant and I do....after that I felt it was really worthy the ambience and the food taste was really good...becomes favourite restaurant now

Great service, nice and clean, amazing food and great prices. What more could you want? We had the cream of asparagus soup and gyros. Delicious and the fries were nice and crisp. 10/10 would recommend!

Their spicy chicken sandwich is better than Popeyes! One of the best neighborhood spots. Quick, friendly service. Food is always fresh and hot. Love this place for a quick dinner to go or dining in.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Chicago. Amazing customer service, and great food. My favorite is the chicken sandwich with cheese! Good gyros and vanilla shakes as well.

GYROS are tasty and not dry like Greek Prime. Im so thankful this gem is here. Service was kind. Rare for Chicago these days.

Excellent place. The food and service was top shelf. Very warm and inviting. The staff knew just about everyone that came in the door on a first name basis. Generous portions

The help there are really nice and friendly.Ready to take your order with a smile. Georges is really a modern past time of the Bridgeport neighborhood in chicago.

Gyros are amazing! Loved the pizza puff and fries were good as well. Not salty. This will be my go to for a Chicago Gyro from now on.
