While the actual ballooning experience is not bad - there are issues. 1. It’s well too expensive for such an experience ($400 per person? I could book a ticket to a different country for that much) 2. They constantly cancel on you The first time it got cancelled we chalked it up to bad luck. Though we had taken work off to do it, it said on their website they rarely need to cancel so we thought it was just unlucky it happened to be us. The second time, we actually had driven there. We again had to cancel work for the day, we drove an hour to get to the Yarra valley at 5AM, and we get on the bus, only for them to cancel then and there. No complimentary service for the trouble of having to drive there, no offer of a refund. At this point we had been cancelled on twice, waited 2 months since we actually booked it and even driven out there only for it to be cancelled again. We finally actually manage to get a flight - and what can I say, it wasn’t all the impressive. We were on the balloon for about 60 minutes (after getting there and waiting for everything for almost 3 hours), we land and we have to help them pack up. And while I’m not saying it was a bad experience on the actual flight day, $400 per person to stand in a balloon with 15 other strangers? It’s not exactly like it’s thrilling. Overall poor experience - I suggest this company strongly implies it is not ‘rare’ for it to be cancelled. I also suggest they are bit more accomodating if it gets cancelled, especially if we made the trip. Either way even if these weren’t issues I would never pay such a high fee for such a mediocre experience again. Edit - I have updated the review to be slightly more accurate after the owner’s comments. Also in reference to the ‘No show’, as we stated on the day we HAD actually shown up to the place we were told to show up. We stayed there for almost 30 full minutes (this is at the time we were told to show up). I don’t know how to why but we did not see another person show up in this time. In fact we were in the same car park as the day we managed to get the flight. I will take some responsibility on my part for not 1. Staying longer and 2. Looking around more thoroughly to see if we were in the right area. I am not blaming them for this and it was nice they had let us rebook, even if they had cancelled on us twice. I will also mention however, 3 stars is an above average review. I am simply stating that for us, the price did not match the experience and if you expect an experience to ‘rarely’ be cancelled, don’t count on taking days off work for it. Was it a fun day? Sure. Would I ever do it again? Absolutely not. It’s up to you to interpret if this experience is good for you.

We booked a balloon ride back in September for a special event and, unfortunately, it turned into a series of cancellations. Initially scheduled for Yarra, it was canceled, and we had to rebook for October in Geelong, only to face another cancellation a day before. This happened twice, causing us to miss two special event celebrations we were eagerly anticipating. Eventually, after rebooking for November, we felt our enthusiasm had waned, and we just wanted to get it over with before more cancellations occurred. The views from Geelong were less than spectacular, mostly just paddocks, and we couldn't help but wonder if Yarra would have offered a better experience. We did manage to capture some great photos on the trip. A tip for fellow adventurers – bring a selfie stick for those memorable shots. The most enjoyable part of the experience was the landing, adding a fun twist to the overall ride. In hindsight, my advice would be not to count on it for a special occasion, as the uncertainty of cancellations may lead to disappointment. Update: In reply to your comments below I've dropped a star now. I understand the concern for safety but the reason we didn't enjoy the experience was the poor attitude of the team in response to our rebooking emails. We are entitled to our opinion about the view from Geelong, but again your comment below reflects your bad attitude being defensive rather than taking this as constructive feedback.

Absolutely spectacular & breath-taking experience worthy of 10⭐ The entire experience from beginning to end was absolutely perfect because of these 3 incredible musketeers (staff members): Mark Fraser - the best pilot in the world, amazingly calm, funny and experienced. Thank you Mark for the smooth and safe flight over Yarra Valley. Your skills are truly remarkable. Rob - extremely knowledgeable ground staff, willing to answer all your 1001 questions before flying, great sense of humour, very friendly. Thank you Rob for driving us safely to and from launch site. Ethan - the balloon transporter, set-up ground staff, sweetest chilled guy. Thank you Ethan for setting up our balloon and for calming my nerves. Can't thank you guys enough for making our experience such a memorable one. Thank you for your hard work setting up our balloon and ensuring all safety measures were in place. The flight was incredibly smooth, the view was absolutely phenomenal. The people in the group were just fantastic, super friendly, made heaps of friends by the time we landed. Packing up the balloon was so much fun for everyone. Thank You for that unique experience. For someone with a height phobia, I did not want the flight to end. Everyone must experience this in their lifetime. Thank you Go Wild Ballooning for the most incredible experience of my life. I will definitely fly again, but only if Mark is the pilot ‍✈️

Go Wild Ballooning gives appalling customer service! Don't believe them for a second when they say flights rarely get cancelled. I booked for my 40th birthday to make it a special day. It was forecast to be fine weather so didn't anticipate any issues. At the last minute they cancelled the flight which didn't give enough notice to organise anything else so my birthday became a non event. And they refuse to provide any refunds for cancelled flights. They take your money and you're never getting it back! I have tried to negotiate with them because fundamentally I'm not interested in taking a balloon flight with them now or ever given their appalling way they have handled this and the rudeness. They keep referring to their terms and conditions like they are mandated by law and not in fact totally within their control! If you don't care if you fly or not and don't care if you get your money back then go ahead and book! Otherwise choose another company who understands the importance of customer satisfaction!

This is one kind of life time experience you need to have. Hot air ballooning over Yarra Valley early in the morning to witness sunrise is one of the most unforgettable experience I ever had. Go Wild Ballooning is so expert and their service is super friendly. And don't forget they have good discounts too. They will give you a proper guidance before the flight and after the flight they will offer you a certificate too. And you can engage in pre and after flight to help the crew to make the balloon too. The day I went was not a sunny day so I couldn't witness the sunrise properly. But the view was so worth the money. Don't forget to check their site to grab some amazing deals they have. Witness this life time experience.

The worst experience anyone could have. They keep cancelling the flights until your expiry date is reached and they dont refund the money. The worst part is that you reserve weekends to experience the flight but a night before they will cancel it. My friends had booked with other companies and all of them have taken their flight. It has been a year and every time I have booked the flight has been cancelled . They always blame it on the weather but actually they try and fill in numbers. If they dont get enough bookings they will keep cancelling on you. I disnt pay extra to get the refundable tickets becuz I didnt know that they will keep cancelling through out ONE WHOLE YEAR

What a fantastic brilliant amazing hot air balloon flight. The day was perfect. The crew where just wonderful. I could not have asked for anything better. I would recommend this experience to anyone and everyone. I am scared of heights but it was the most amazing feeling and I was not frightened at all. Booked a balloon flight with them on the 25/6 and was cancelled by the operator. Re-booked for another flight on the 20/8 only to have them cancel it again. Luckily (or so I thought) I had paid extra for a refundable ticket, however they are now moving the goalposts and are refusing to refund the cost. My partner and I are going overseas and cannot take another weekend off the go fly. This is so unethical, please book elsewhere for your ballooning adventures!

Love, love, love it, we had the most Fantastic experience on Our balloon flight. Our pilot Harry was very knowledgeable and extremely friendly. As well the whole Go Wild Ballooning Team were amazing and had as envolved throughout the whole process, packing up the balloon was fun helping to deflate it. This is an amazing company to go hot air ballooning with. The administration was more than accommodating for all our questions and issues. On the day, the staff were super friendly, super helpful and super experienced. We loved that the pilot joined those that had the champagne brekky! Went ballooning for the first time over the Yarra Valley, it was cold and foggy but thoroughly enjoyable. Got so many incredible photos that I will treasure forever. The pilot and driver were lovely. Next time I'd like to do summer for a completely different experience and to see more of the landscape.

Great experience with the Go Wild team this morning. Right from the pre flight check's the night before to the landing our pilot Harry did a great job and explained what he was doing as we drifted across the yarra valley. Breakfast at Chateau Yering was also a delight. Highly recommended.

Loved the experience and it is nothing short of magical! It was totally mesmerising and would highly recommend to fly with them. Once in a lifetime experience! The flights could be cancelled due to unsuitable weather conditions but they do mention that beforehand.

Meet up and instructions clear by tour guide, flight had spectacular views and landing was very good. Breakfast is average quality, coffee good. Nice grounds to walk afterwards. Plenty of parking on site, nearby chocolate place was good to visit with little one.
