The Graja hostel was one of the best hostels I stayed in South America. The kind and warm-hearted Marccelo integrated me quickly into his family, which worked there, too. The breakfast is really early (7.00 - 9.00), and good equipped. It was clean and you could even wash your clothes, which dried very quickly. I had money problems and was really sick, but it was no problm to pay later and they offered me their help to get better. It was a really funny and beautiful stay at Graja Hostel :) A weak point could be, that the staff speak poorly english. Nevertheless we communicated through spanish "bridges", visual communication and google translate. They are always really helpful and try everything to understand you. Also the distance was no problem for me. The bus station is 300 m from the hostel away. With 3,60 REAL (~ 1 €) you can drive right to the city center, which takes one hour. The beachs Copacabana and Ipanema take a bit longer to reach. From the city center back to the hostel at night with uber cost around 20-35 REAL (February 2018).

As instalações são acolhedoras e bem cuidadas, proporcionando um ambiente relaxante para todos os hóspedes. A limpeza impecável e a decoração descontraída tornaram minha estadia ainda mais agradável. Além disso, a localização é perfeita, com fácil acesso a atrações locais e transporte público. Não posso deixar de mencionar o delicioso café da manhã oferecido, que definitivamente superou minhas expectativas. Recomendo o Graja Hostel a todos que procuram uma experiência hospitaleira e memorável. Mal posso esperar para retornar!

Lugar muito tranquilo, em um bairro bem residencial, calmo, com muita natureza por perto, o parque estadual do Grajaú fica a uns 15 minutos do hostel, e também várias opções de comércio e transporte. Além da família receber todos muito bem, criando um ambiente muito confortável o que faz nos sentirmos em casa.

Beautiful house, beautiful garden, good space for events. Lots of mosquitoes, take repellent. The children had a lot of fun in the spaces the house offers. The street is quiet and you will probably find somewhere to park nearby. Clean bathrooms. In fact, everything was very well taken care of.

Great! I recommend it to everyone. Cozy place, with helpful staff, great energy, I felt at home. Clean, super fresh and airy environment, the kitchen is large, tidy and has all the utensils you need, there is a really cool bar that opens on Fridays and Saturdays. Really very good.

My boyfriend and I stayed and really had an amazing time at the place. The owners are very friendly and charming, the breakfast service is very complete and the facilities are comfortable and clean. You have the common areas such as the kitchen available to cook if you wish.

This hostel is has very nice, clean and safe facilities. The beds are a lot more comfortable then at the usual Hostels and showers are also clean and large! Great place to stay if you do not want to stay in the center.
