Owned by the most genuine and knowledgeable wine experts in nyc. I have been to multiple wineries throughout the world and the knowledge from the people that work here still amazes me. No matter the occasion or the mood you’re in, Granada wines and spirits will show you what you need. I recently did some renovations to my condo and as a nice gesture to my neighbors for dealing with the noise I went to Granada to pick up a few wine bottles. I asked the owner what wine he recommended for the nice gesture and made sure he knew I was on a budget. The owner didn’t blink twice, he knew where to go and grabbed me the wine of his recommendation… Five months later my neighbors are still thanking me for the bottles. They said it barely lasted an hour… I continuously go to Granada weekly and they have not just earned me as a customer for life but my neighbors as well. Mind you I live in south Brooklyn and my commute to the shop can take upwards of 45 minutes sometimes…. Yet no amount of time will stop me from traveling for exceptional service that can only be received from Granada.
I can’t speak to the selection of this wine store but the customer service is not pleasant at all. Having recently move into downtown Brooklyn area I decided to try this wine shop, I am a big champagne lover especially grower champagne. When I walked into the store and ask the guy (wearing suit) in the front about where is the champagne selection, he looked at me from head to toe for 5 seconds and asked me if I want the real champagne….implying I don’t know the differences between sparking wine and champagne? Who knows. The worst is yet to come. When I say I just want to get an idea, he immediately said oh you can get the idea online. At this time I was completely in shock and I even asked: am I bothering you? There are many wine shops online where you can get cheaper bottles but the beauty of a brick mortar store is the conversation and knowledge you gain by talking with the staff. I’ve made many friends along the way but I guess I won’t be going into Granada wine any more
I stepped in for 30 seconds after a long day at work. The staff seemed alarmed to see me enter their store. Immediately asking if I need assistance as if I was lost and accidentally stumbled into their store. I was simply browsing before making my selection - not sure if that’s allowed at this store. An older gentleman who was working the floor immediately ran behind the counter while both he and the cashier peered at me while I continued to browse. I overheard the cashier whisper to the older man “the cheap liquor is in the front” or something to that nature. Immediately I turned around and they gave me a “i hope she didn’t hear that” kind of smile. Truly gross behavior from the two of them but at least I know to never give them my business.
Granada Wines and Spirits is the only wine shop I will go from now on. The staff showed us incredible kindness and hospitality. They have an impressive selection of wines and can speak to the qualities of their stock. It made the process of wine shopping simple and fun. Charbel was super helpful in picking some wines to pair with our BYOB dinner. I even walked out with whisky for my dad for Father's Day! Would definitely swing by here if you're in the area or even make a special trip to see their wares.
Myself, not being a connoisseur of Wines & Spirits, I walked into this location and was meet by a gentleman who was ready, willing and very much able to serve me as his patron. Expressed to him what I liked ( based on flavors and textures) and he found perfect options. That gentleman turned out to be the owner. He mentioned to me he standby ever product in his story. We have a quaint conversation. I walked out glad I walked in. Plan on going back soon ( plus there's some BYOB restaurants on Smith St.)
Went in looking for two specific wine. Bread and Butter or Coppoa’s ivory cab. The lady worked at store said she didn’t have any, but she knows something very close. She then proceeded to sell me a bottle of Bogle. Obviously taste nothing like two others I was looking for, and Bogle (kicking myself for not checking) is known as California’s budget wine contending with Berlinger. Usually sold under 9 bucks. I paid $16.99. What a complete rip off.
This is by far the only place that I will go from now on! This is a family owned and operated store, and they really make you feel like you’re a part of their family. Beyond helpful with product selection and their prices are considerably better than some surrounding shops. Interesting. It’s the camaraderie and the sense of welcoming that you feel when you walk in that makes me want to come back here every time! Go check it our for yourself.
If you are looking for staff that knows a lot about the drinks they sell.. but the lady I encountered tried to be polite about her responses despite the unnecessary back and forth about the drink i was asking for, which they had but she didn't seem to know what I was asking for even though I indicated several times. I ended up not getting anything there and found a place with the same drink for cheaper on court street.
I have a great experience every time I come here. The staff is super friendly, but more importantly extremely helpful! They know their wine perfectly and were able to advise me on which wine I’m most likely to enjoy. Every bottle they’ve recommended has been great. Definitely the best place in Brooklyn to buy wine and spirits. They have great taste and are industry experts. Great people, great prices, and great wine!
We love Granada! They have an amazing selection and competitive prices. George is wonderful and everyone who works there is incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. Have gotten great suggestions and they’ve even ordered me wines that they didn’t have on hand. The best part of it all is it’s a local family owned and run operation. Highly recommend!
One THE premier wine shops in Downtown Brooklyn. I know absolutely nothing about wine, but every time I go the sales, Charbel, has me feeling like Sommolier amongst my peers! :D Nevertheless, a proper selection exists in this prime store front. You think wine is just cabernet until you go here.. Wonderful family business & well serviced!
Granada Wine and Spirits is in Downtown Brooklyn on Smith Street has become my go to place when I need to buy a nice bottle Liquor and they save me and I came out with winners two years in a row they were very helpful and kind and I will continue to go to them check them out if your in the area …
Without question one of the best if not the best wine selections here in NYC! Me and my friends enjoy shopping at this establishment the service is top Teir their selections are second to none! This store is definitely a trailblazer when it comes to quality products selection and customer service! DEFINITELY recommend!
Great atmosphere, a ton of options alongside real experts that know their spirits. Charbel helped me out with ordering a few wine bottles. He described each and every single option perfectly and how which option is best suited for certain events. This is my go to spot in all of NYC hands down! 10/10 recommend it.
Love this shop! I visited a few days ago with a friend looking to buy a couple of bottles of wine and we had a great experience. Charbel and Alan were super knowledgeable, friendly and helpful - they recommended a couple of great bottles. If I lived in the area, this would be my go-to for great wine and service!
This is by far the best wine shop in Brooklyn. Charbel and his father George have ran this shop for a very long time and the hospitality at this wine shop can’t be matched anywhere else. Also, they are very knowledgable and you will get a great advice on whatever kind of wine you’re looking for.
My favorite family business in the neighborhood. Great atmosphere, amazing customer service and huge selection, the service is a step beyond the rest. They take the time to make sure you are happy and educated about your purchase. Would highly recommend checking them out it’s worth it.
We visited from Montreal and found this spot. Not only are the staff hospitable, knowledgeable and cool, Gregorio was just a gem and we went back several times to just say hi. Thanks Gregorio for the memories! Those little vodka bottles revved our engines for the rave! Hahaha
This store is shockingly overpriced, between 20-30% more than other BK shops. I’m not sure why as the markup is significant enough to make the effort to shop elsewhere despite the convenience of location. Whiskeys that are $43 elsewhere (e.g. Michter’s) is close To $60 here.
Granada Wine & Spirits has been our go to since my wife and I moved into the area years ago. Always friendly staff and very knowledgeable with wine pairings. They have a variety of offerings & always greet you with a smile. It’s the only place we buy booze from in the area.
Lovely family-owned wine and spirit shop! They have a great selection and are so helpful! You’ll likely meet every member of the family and if you shop their regularly, as I do, you’ll feel like a part of this Brooklyn family! Extra bonus on the local deliver!
I picked up a bottle of wine for my girlfriend recently and I wish i could give Granada 6 stars! Especially Charbel, who helped me pick out the perfect gift. Charbel is very nice and is extremely knowledgeable about their selection! Definitely going back!
The wine selection is seriously awesome. You can find a wine for any occasion here. They even have organic skin touched wine from Georgia (country). Amazing staff, always very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. Always leaving this place in a good mood.
The service is impeccable, the selections are plentiful, and the owner is a true community guy! He's kind and welcoming. This is undoubtedly my favorite place to shop especially during the holiday seasons. I highly recommend Granada Wines and Spirits!
been there a few times before covid , the guy in the front ( most likely owner) does not allow you to be on the phone apparently (before covid) so I guess I either have to take my business elsewhere or treat this place like a library or church
One of the best wine shops I’ve visited. Charbel and his family have one of the best selections in Brooklyn and are very knowledgeable with all aspects of wine and spirits. Every pairing they have suggested has been a hit with my guests!!!
Always a great experience visiting Granada Wines & Spirits. The staff is very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. They recommended a Mezcal called La Gritona which was exactly what I was looking for. Couldn't recommend this place more!
Granada is a lovely, family-owned wine shop with a great selection. The staff is super friendly and always help me find a great bottle of wine. LOVE their natural wine selection. My go-to neighborhood wine shop!!
Walked into this store as it is well known in the area. Was greeted as I walked in and asked if I needed help. Very kind staff as they made recommendations and asked me what I liked. Good people, good business
Wish I caught his name but the owner was very nice! Sparked up a conversation about NY liquor laws. It was enjoyable. What I bought, Johnny Walker Blue Label, was actually on sale so I walked away quite happy.
Seriously the best wine store in Brooklyn, if not all NYC. Best people, best wine, incredibly knowledgeable and love sharing their knowledge in a kind way. As a bonus, wine is priced VERY reasonably.
The staff is so nice and they have really good prices and great selection. I know nothing about wine but they’re always able to suggest exactly what i need. My go to place in the neighborhood now.
Reasonably priced and great customer service. I came in looking for a specific cognac and instead the owner recommended me Godet. Such an amazing taste. Very friendly and welcoming liquor store.
Small with a exquisite selection of mid to top shelf brands and options. Wines from a variety of known Vineyards from all over. The staff and owner are very knowledgeable of there inventory.
Very nice place workers are full of knowledge and very helpful the right place for Christmas gifts I highly recommend this place good prices for everyone’s needs happy holidays to all …
Granada is the neighborhood staple! The selection of wine and spirits is unmatched but what sets it apart is the amazing costumer service provided by all their employees.
Great wine and liquor store. The staff was super knowledgeable and helpful. Great selection of wines, both local and international (Argentina, New Zealand, Europe, etc.)
Amazing family run wine & spirits shop! The owner is warm, kind, truly cares about his clientele and deserves your business! Shop local and support our neighborhood!
Definitely the best liquor store near my apartment in Downtown Brooklyn (Boerum Hill). Awesome staff, tidy as f**k, and close by. Can't beat it!
I don't drink but stolled in for spirits for my friends and family. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Great atmosphere and energy.
We ordered for our baby shower! Amazing delivery service and great customer experience. So happy we were able to order from here!
love this shop! everyone is always so helpful. staff really knows their stuff and is always happy to make wine recommendations.
great service and selection! considering our neighborhood, i think this place is VERY well priced (and i even told them that!)
Nice service but probably 30% more expensive for same wine as other places like Montague or Michael wine. Not sure why?
Shop assistant didn’t look up from texting on her phone while I stood in front of her trying to check out.
The kindest and most helpful people. Generous with their time and knowledge. Wish I lived closer.
This store has an amazing selection of wines and they are very knowledgeable on their products.
This is store is the problem with gentrification. They will follow you around if you’re Black.
Very helpful on picking out the right bottle! I loved the guidance and support. Great place!
Love this wine store. Everyone is really friendly. Great family business. Highly recommend!
