Ok cool. Thanks ... I'd asked for feedback on an ongoing issue I have had with this ‘bank’, one of many I've had over the years. I have other accounts with other banks and slowly, one by one, they are all improving and using available technological developments to make customers experience a little less awful when dealing with the financial institutions in this great land. Well, all except perhaps this one. This so-called 'bank' (a name change has been loosely announced but nothing has actually changed) I'm my opinion, either need to get serious about introducing a lot more user-friendly systems so customers can manage the issues independently or focus on recruiting and retaining a highly skilled and super capable customer-centred service team of Consultants. This is why many years ago not too many were really in favour of banking online, however now it's pretty much all non-branch options available. However, most banks don't seem to have the level of confusion and frustrating problems as this one. This is from both the customer and more concerning ALSO the impression one a gather from the people who work with these wacky and outdated systems, I have even be fortunate to have a service representative vented at me over the phone with their own frustrations and limitations. So much so I guess, that now I just get ignored on the IM chat and when I've attempted to use the phone, I was hung up on.. Not once but twice. Only to have to wait another 35 mins to get back through to be told that maybe they "think" the problem could be caused by this or that but the reality is I'm guessing. .. but don't even suggest that you are not happy cause you will be hung up on once again. These recent experiences have not increased my confidence in this bank and when it becomes convenient to shift institutions, I will not be hesitating. This is so bad, it is almost funny, but not really a laughing matter. Pick up your game CUA/ GSB and give us the alternative to the BIG 4 we all hoped you might one day be or at the very least be as good as the worst of them.

We have been trying to open business accounts with GSB since Friday 9th September. We have had to return to the branch four times since then as the incorrect forms were completed by the staff. They have also on those occasions forgotten to have us sign certain sections. It is now 21st September and the accounts are still not open. We also attempted to open personal accounts with this bank, requesting four cards - two for a joint account, one each for a personal account. All forms signed in the branch. Only three cards were ordered by the bank and we are now wasting more time trying to get them to place the order for the fourth. This is MIGHTY frustrating, to the point where we have decided to take our banking elsewhere.

The only financial institution that takes the time to always be helpful to my Chinese spouse who struggles with English. They take the time to explain everything to her and make sure that she understands. Branch service is vital for her, and the branch in our town is exceptional. Products are fantastic for us! Added bonus interest rate just for being over 55! Fantastic. Nothing but praise for a financial institution that has always gone above and beyond for us. Even providing financial documentation out of opening hours for us. Amazing. Have been with them for over 20 years, and never had a problem. Recommend GSB Australia to anybody.

Bad experience with international money transfer. It has been 3 weeks so far; my money has disappeared from my bank account and nowhere to be seen and the recipient has not received it as well. when I contact the bank no one is giving me the actual reason why the recipient cannot receive the money. and the bank team never calls me back despite so many calls been made to the international money transfer team. Where is my money NOT great southern bank?

Let me say that the team here is amazing! Opened my bank accounts here since moving from CBA. Super friendly, they know all the answers to my questions and if not, they are willing to look it up and get back to me. Always smiles and the building itself is very classic. Only downside is that they do get really busy during peak hours but besides that, very happy New customer.

Terrible customer service reliability I phoned in, waited 45 minutes than I decided to opt for a callback. They sure called back, it rang for 2 seconds and before I could walk 2 steps around my kitchen bench to pick my phone up, they've hung up!! Pathetic. Unreliable. Horrible. Time wasting service!!
