Just had a very late snack here, and again was really happy with the food and service. I was excited to try this New Mexican place when it opened last year & have never been disappointed. The fresh ingredients & flavour are awesome. I’ve read a lot of the reviews and I appreciate that not everyone has had the same experience. People need to remember it’s a new store and there’s always going to be teething issues; getting staff (when so many people don’t want to work these days), training new staff, understanding the ebb and flow and trying to determine when it will be busy and when it’s not etc New businesses take time & everyone needs to be patient. This food chain is a godsend to this side of town & it will continue to grow & improve, be patient. It’s not 5 star dining, it’s fast food, better than your average fast food stores like McDonalds and KFC so enjoy the variety. I had the pleasure of meeting the owners and was pleasantly surprised at their commitment to their staff and customers. It’s obvious they want this business to succeed in the way they treat their staff & customers. It’s so easy to write negative reviews but no one seems to take the time to write positive reviews. C’mon people give this place a chance, even a second chance! If this was your business how would you feel at all the negativity! Make your feedback constructive & relevant! This was my original review: Great food and prices are good. Unfortunately they don't deliver to my area. Open later than most other places so you're not stuck with pizza or fast food when you have a late night. After tonights experience they have gone downhill significantly with the taste of their food and staffing. My food was ready in the drawer and I was left waiting for over 5 minutes to be served while a number of staff seen me but did not acknowledge me. They were too busy stuffing around, 2 girls mucking around touching the back of the others neck, while handling food. When I tried telling the girl at the online order area she was rude to me, and her tone of voice was not great either. I understand that everyone had bad days but the service tonight was really bad. When I mentioned to the staff member that I was waiting more than 5 minutes and did not get acknowledged her response was... they might not look busy but they are. I'm like as you just said to your colleague they are too busy arguing. Her response was "yeah verbally". It does not matter if it is verbal. It still occurred on front of customers. Won't be going back to burnside store. Our chicken enchiladas were cold too.

Terrible drive-thru experience. I have eaten inside this restaurant before and have not had issue with timely orders or anything missing, so when I ordered something quick to pickup for dinner I thought it would be easy… I noticed there was hardly anyone inside and only a handful of cars in the drive-thru so took that route as I selected that option while online ordering. It took 35 minutes to get my food… That includes 5 minutes waiting at the pickup window for them to just hand me my bag (the order said it was prepared 40 minutes prior to them handing it to me). The cars in front didn’t seem to have large orders either, it seemed to just take 5 minutes for the staff to open the payment and pickup windows whenever a new car drove up… An even bigger crime than that is forgetting to put jalapeño and onions in my nacho box. It says jalapeño and onion on the box lid! Come on people, have some standards. Apart from the soggy nachos, I think this experience has put me off GyG for a long while and if you order from this store during a busy period I wish you good luck.

I was excited to try GYG having never eaten it again. Can’t say wibe rushing bac up to the Burnside store past overflowing bins to a very dirty front door. Placed our order and had to clean our own table before sitting down. Everything was filthy, the toilets, the tables, the floors, the napkin holders, the chairs, the sinks and every bin was overflowing with rubbish placed on top of them. Our food came and it was ok if not a bit bland. The slow cooked beef and pulled pork was good, the burrito and nachos were ok. I ordered the enchilada and It was big but only because it was full of rice, way too much rice. It wasn’t an enchilada it was just a bigger burrito. No red sauce, not baked it was disappointing because all you could taste was rice. Save yourself three dollars and get the burrito. The pulled pork on the nachos was tasty but not pulled. Just chunks. Drinks were warm. The staff seemed tired, frazzled and we’re just walking past the mess. I don’t blame the young staff, I blame the person in charge, I blame management. Won’t be back

The first time at GYG Burnside was a bit disappointing - confused while ordering to try figure out what combinations are available for vegetarians, a pretty long wait for the food to arrive and as some others had pointed out, a fair amount of rice and beans in the burrito. Once you've experienced this, ordering what you enjoyed and sitting down to a tasty meal during future visits is pretty easy! My second time in, I ordered 3 Vegetarian Mushroom Spicy Tacos in a meal. It's amazing that it took less than five minutes for it to arrive to the table, hot and fresh! The tacos are a bit on the smaller side, and at $13.50 for 3 tacos ($18.50 in a meal with small fries and a drink), it isn't cheap, yes, even in 2022! However, it was a good experience, and their fries are super tasty! Will definitely visit again.

A new GYG in the west and there are serious concerns about this restaurant!!! I have been their multiple times to try their foods and coffee, but the GYG Corporation and Franchisee really need to ramp up the conditions, and service. • There are NO positive vibe or attitude by staff • Staff members have no knowledge of the products, the systems and managing a restaurant. • My meals have been incorrectly prepared and forgotten. • When I order coffee, sometimes they charge me $2 or $3, and provide incorrect size coffee or coffee with no lid through drive through…. • The waiting time is way too long…. There are many young employees working, and most of them need additional training, The management just seem to have a lack of care, hopefully things can improve, but currently very disappointed with what’s being offered. There are so many uncertainty by staff members, and disorganised, which has been communicated to me and my partner. The Management need to be more focused and be more supportive to their staff members.

The most amazing people work at this branch! I absent mindedly drove off without my coffee and one of the staff followed my car to the car park (in the rain, by the way) and still served me with a smile! Also was given a coffee card which is a very wise move for mothers who are in desperate need of a coffee and who can't get out of the car because they have a sleeping baby in the backseat! I'll be back for more! The best and most affordable drive through coffee in the whole of Melbourne. Chips are also amazing because they are actual potatoes, not frozen processed mush like everywhere else! Don't like the cheese they use but that can be forgiven since everything else tastes like quality. Oh and the breakfast burrito with chorizo is a must!!!!

I don't blame the young people working there for there: - unfamiliar knowledge in systems and order processing; - there non positive attitude; - Walking past a dropped fork on the floor and just kicking it under the table; - having numerous tables in the dining room not cleaned and wiped down, watching customers do their own wiping down: But I do blame the management of this store for not setting standards and not training and giving young kids a position on the forefront of customer service. You have let them down. GYG corporate need to have some serious intervention here to get this store up to a customer standard. Now, the food, I ordered a spicy chicken buritto bowl and nacho fries. The wait times were reasonable. Food, not hot, probably a little under warm, but edible and comparable to other GYG stores.

I went yesterday at dinner time with my kids, very busy restaurant, for a second I thought it would be to better go somewhere else, when I ordered the service was great, the counter boy Maxi was lovely, he recommended me so much yummy food and he was so patient with my kids, then after couple of minutes, the manager I believe, came with my order and apologised for the delays order, he helped getting the high chair he was so thoughtful,because of his accent I think he is south American, after we finish he came again to check on us and everyone around, cleaning tables. Etc, good job guzman y gomez burnside, u guys made my night. Highly recommended.

This is probably the fourth time I’ve been back. I don’t why I keep coming back. This time I order the free range egg breakfast with corn chips drive through. Waited for 10mins , only to be told they ran out of chorizos and bacon was the only option. Eventually got my order, when it was time to tuck in , notice they forgot the corn chips , so there were just luke warm scramble eggs , with some cheese and salsa dressing. I don’t blame your young team staff members for the bad standards and non care factor but I do blame management, they should install high standard of training and care factor on meals that you serve your customers. I would give it 1 star but because your young staff was very polite about the mix up , I give 2 ⭐️.

RUDE MANAGER WITH NO COMPASSION. Waited 50 minutes for the wrong order, firstly the order was sitting inside going cold while we were waiting at our table. Opened up the meal and it was the wrong meal completely. Took it back in to get correct meal and ask for money back as it’s nearing now an hour wait and my friend has already finished her meal. The rude manager wouldn’t even refund the full amount and then would not give my friend the meal. He was unhelpful, rude and probably shouldn't work in hospitality and customer service. Or maybe do a class in resolutions. The meal was there waiting but now goes to waste.

Food was absolutely delicious and the customer service was fantastic. Thanks to the lovely red/pink haired young lady. Super friendly and ensured we were able to open the drink bottles which required a bottle opener, opening them for us. The other guy taking payment was great too. Burnside venue has far worse quality compared with other locations. Have been ordering quite often, but every time the meal is somehow bad, its like the staff really don’t care what they are offering. However, this last one was a complete disaster - there were only few chunks of meat, chips was all broken (they have put the leftovers of the good chips), and the guacamole had big lumps (photo) like they hasn’t smashed it properly. This was ordered in drive-in so maybe they thought they can put whatever in the box without the chance of us complaining to them at the spot. Very very poor quality of the meals, won’t be ordering from there anymore.

Love Guzmans food, however it would be great if the serving is consistent each time the Noel’s are ordered. Staff need to be trained more to dish up consistency. I receive meals that are to standard and are filling one time and I’ll receive the same meal another day with much less portions. The last time I came in I ordered a take out bowl, arrived home to find not much was served plus no corn chips. Quite disappointing. Will not order take out again so that I can go straight to counter and get it fixed. Not the first time something is missing.

Food was great, but ready 20 mins later than their app said it would be. They were super busy and the people working were all working hard and lovely to deal with and the wait wouldn't have been a problem, except I raced there based on what the app told me and then had to back track to do an errand i could easily have done on the way there if the App prediction had been a bit closer to accurate. I've ordered online twice now and same thing both times. Having said that, food and service in the store itself is great and I will keep coming here! Will just ignore the estimated pick up time on the app (add 15 - 20 mins).

Very slow, even if you only want a soft serve cone. By the way, I'm sure it doesn't take too much training to get the soft serve to look a bit more like the picture. Today the girl tried to hand me one that was stumpy and slopping around the sides - I could see she was rotating the cone way off. I asked her if she could make another, she spoke to her supervisor, they both had a laugh and I could see the supervisor stitched me up, because she re made it and you could feel how light the cone was and the tip of the ice-cream barely stood 2cms above the cone. Well done smart A, great customer service.

Disappointing coffee today. Looking forward to up my rating but I doubt I would take the risk again. The timing between churros was too far apart and the coffee came cold and the staff tries to justify instead of taking responsibility (while bringing our second extra hot coffee which was a challenge to drink taste wise). I shouldn't have to defend myself as a customer. The staff should self reflect so they will find kindness in return. I also assume that they would be tired and confused with long hours of working. I have also been happy with my other visits that's why the rating isn't all the way down to zero.

We dined in on Friday the 20th of October and it was awful. Don't get me wrong the food was amazing, but there was this guy at the counter was yelling out orders like a crazy person. I get you have to yell to get peoples attention but the worker yelling sounded angry and scary. Everytime he yelled us as the customers would just looked at each other like what the hell is he doing. It made us jump every time he yelled out a name or number. Ridiculous and I'm not over reacting. DO BETTER STOP SCARING US. I WANNA EAT MY BURRITO IN PEACE.

Great to have a GYG in the west, but seriously disappointed with the quality of service in comparison to other locations. I feel I’ve given them multiple opportunities on dine in, take out & delivery orders, and I consistently receive incorrect items. Asking for any alternation ensure you will not get the correct food. Even without changing ingredients, I still find that I’m often missing listed ingredients for no reason. The management/staff just seem to have a lack of care, hopefully with some time things can improve, but currently very disappointed with what’s being offered.

This place is so hit and miss with its consistency. Fed up with receiving a 10% serve or less it’s happened a few times and normally I would not even write this. If a company loses its trust, a comment with a photo must be shared. Check out the ingredients in that photo - you should not need to check your order thoroughly before you leave but I highly recommend you do. Don’t get short changed in the form of a company not giving what you paid for.

Another disappointing experience at this GYG. After a big night out I was looking forward to digging into my chicken burrito only to find they put beef mince instead. Ended up throwing it out. The service and the food was amazing when it was first opened but the quality dropped drastically over the past months. They don't put much guacamole or sour cream in anything, couple of times even when I order a different meat I still get all chicken. They don't put the extras in most of the time like jalapeños or sauces. The coffee is always bad. I ordered 'extra hot' and got an ice cold coffee last time. The service is good most of the time. It's OK- was busy at lunchtime - staff friendly - the spicy chicken burrito was filling, I'd like to see more chicken in it, chicken was tasty. Nice new & clean restaurant-plenty of parking. The beef taco was tasty & had lots of beef in it, I'd like to see more salad, be careful they get knocked around in the bag / container if you are not very careful. The pulled pork taco was light on meat - again I think more cheese, tomato & salad required - otherwise they tasted fresh & crunchy - I would eat again.

Staff was extremely rude. I explained it was my first time here and asked her if she could recommend what to order. She looked disgusted at me and plain rude. Ordered the food without her help. A man who looks like in charge comes out with my food with an attitude. Extremely rude staff. Never going back there again.

Guzman Burnside are so careless with getting your order right. You ask for half rice, they don’t do it. You ask for spicy, they add no sauce. Probably the worst Guzman I have been to. The staff who take your order never listen properly. You say add veggies…’yep’! Add coriander… ‘yep’! Only half rice ‘yep’! Then you get your order and all things are missing or wrong. The workers don’t give a damn and just type in the computer whatever they feel like. I’m not going to this Guzman anymore- pathetic service.

First time here and the food was fantastic I have to rate on overall experience, and if I didn't have to use the bathroom I prob would have given this place 5 star. However the bathroom was absolutely disgusting and put me off wanting to eat the rest of my food . There are only two toilets, one for disabled and one regular one that's unisex toilet. I was just so surprised with how clean and beautiful the place was, the bathroom was a complete let down.

Was here yesterday, $6.50 for loaded chips. 10minutes wait, came out COLD and barely even half full. The service seemed completely uninterested and the chips were just the saddest I've seen around. I understand the servers are just teens, but really? Sad cold chips after waiting 10 minutes for just chips.

Reluctantly returned after having a previous negative experience. Well glad we did. Greeted by smiling staff. Received exceptional customer service from Sienna, the food was served quickly and was delicious . Store Manger was checking on customers to ensure everything was to their liking. Will definitely come back again.

An absolute joke of an establishment - add at least an extra 10 minutes to the time any order placed through the app gives you, and don't expect any order to be correct (especially if you happen to make any modifications) make sure you double check. The food itself is decent but the price is certainly way too high, and the service makes it basically not worth bothering

Nice food at a reasonable price, the Churos were the highlight for me they were deliciously fresh and crunchy, the Cali burito was nice too. Staff were friendly it was busy for lunch time service . Nice vibes and decor inside the resturant

We have ordered our food through Menulog . Wrong order was delivered. I contacted Guzman and Gomes in Burnside explaining to manager about the wrong order , he replied saying it’s nothing to do with him . He said my order still at the restaurant and hang up the phone . He was extremely rude .I Will never order food from this place again .

Ordered 4 meals. 3 where good. I ordered the quesadilla with mince, added sour cream, avocado and pico de gallo. Only half had the extras I ordered and they were both so soggy that all the mince just fell out. If that was my first experience eating a quesadilla I would never of tried another one again, it was a soggy mess.

My wife and I went here with our teenage kids. I had tried other Guzman stores and wasn’t Impressed but the taste of the food here is just amazing, equaled only by the friendly and welcoming staff. The atmosphere was also impressive for a suburban store. If you want great Mexican at an affordable price, try this place!

We went there to get something cold and sweet to eat, so we both got a large sundae each. When we were handed the sundaes I had to ask if that was indeed the large size because it was so small. It was really nice, but it was fairly expensive for the portion size.

Nice interior and very friendly staff. However, second time I'm here since my first time in January and same issue. The food is way too bland. Like, you see all the ingredients in the chicken burrito or quesadilla, and genuinely none of the flavour. Just tastes like nothing! Chips were v well seasoned and cooked so that I can recommend.

Among all fast food chains, GYG staff seem to have a big problem differentiating between beef and chicken. On multiple occasions across multiple locations we have been served beef in chicken tacos. I don't know how they can mix up. I wouldnt recommend this restaurant if you are particular about not eating beef, as we are.

3 Stars for the fact that we got a GYG in the area. I would’ve give you guys 2 Stars for the fact that you guys stuffed up my order tonight but I understand how busy you guys are tonight because you just opened up and it’s Mothers Day. Anyway looking forward to coming back maybe once the dust settles down …

Came by for food yesterday with my partner, a 10/10 for the food like always! An item from my order was missing but what makes up for it is the atmosphere and absolute class of the staff. The young lady with the bright dyed hair in drive-through is always courteous and smiling when she takes our order. Keep it up!

I love gyg i travel about 20 mins to go here, everytime i come i pay for extra sour cream and never get it! my chips had no seasoning at all and were bland and i didnt even get a fork with my burrito bowl, dont want to have to go back in for all these things when going through drive thru :/

Pretty good food, are definitely stingy on ingredients though. Pay for sauce, get a 1/3 full container. Pay for ice coffee get a whole cup of ice and a fraction of coffee. Pay for a large, get a slight bit more meat than a small. Do love gyg but can definitely be hit & miss with consistency.

I've ordered from here a few times, but have noticed that there's a lack of flavour compared to other gyg restaurants. I usually order a chicken burrito and it just tastes a little bland. The food is always good quality, though.

Instead of serving dine they were doing takeaways and staff orders. Had to leave seat to get my order. Nachos were waiting and cold as cold . Lazy half wit grubs
