I've been wanting to try Guzman y Gomez for a while now and I have to say it was a huge disappointment. They served my enchilada lukewarm, on a cardboard plate and gave me wooden cutlery which was in no way up to the task of cutting through what was clearly a microwaved tortilla wrap. I ordered spicy but what I received, I would consider extremely mild. The guacamole contained large chunks of avocado and the cheese was sparse. To be fair, I intend to try them again, but with a different dish but I don't expect to be impressed. The flavours were great though - it would have been even more delicious if it was hot and actually spicy and not reheated in a microwave. A nice try, but a fail for me.

I got two spicy chorizo breakfast burritos and the chorizo was sooo burnt it tasted like charcoal, there was not enough tomato salsa/relish either so it tasted burnt and dry. I live in hoppers and the one in tarneit always makes the perfect burrito and I go there often. As for the coffee, I’m usually not a picky person and will even drink a bad coffee but I’m not sure if it’s the machine or the beans they use but I actually could not drink it and poured it down the sink. Disappointed in the food sadly, the only thing right was the hashbrown and customer service.. would really recommend a little more training or over seeing the food process to make sure food is up to your standards :)

Came here after work and the service was appalling. Multiple staff ignored us. One lady started at me and my partner so I naturally went to order and she just turned her back. She could’ve easily said “sorry I’m not serving at the moment” but instead she just decided not to show any customer service. After waiting 5+ minutes (there was no one else at the counter but us), we were told we only had the choice of pork or veges, which is understandable considering we went 15 minutes before close but there was such a lack of customer service it was disgusting. Both my partner and I work in hospitality and the service we received was below standard. Disappointing. We will not be returning.

I ordered a steak burrito bowl today and added guacamole and was a bit horrified to learn the calories in the bowl are almost same as the burrito! Not sure why I am skipping the bread! Changed to brown rice which was an additional surcharge (as was guac, they really hit you with the add ons here!) Original review We headed to Guz for a yummy Mexican feast. I chose a chicken burrito bowl but was a bit astounded I needed to pay more for sour cream, guacamole and cheese. I get that a lot of places charge additional for guac but geez not the other ingredients. Regardless it was fresh and tasty and relatively quick to come out. Even got a takeaway in the most gorgeously colourful cup. Good quality for a casual chain restaurant

I had a bad experience yesterday. I ordered through app and my ordered wasn't ready on time but my app notified it's ready to pick up. However, they found it or made it and the staff did apologize for delays which is all okay no issues. But when I took the food home it smelled weird as if something was not good in that. I literally live 3 mins drive from the restaurant and the food container got all soft and the smell was bad I am not sure if the food was fresh or some specific ingredient was bad but my mood was spoiled. This was second bad experience at this place and honestly gyg keeps giving bad experiences at different outlets so I am not going to gyg anymore.

We didn’t receive half our order. Bag was taped and was told it was all in there only to get home and an entire meal is missing and there is no direct contact number to call the branch. So unless we drive all the way back to said branch which is a good 20 minutes away we have no way to contact them so we just had to leave a email at an automated response call and order from Uber eats at a seperate branch. So disappointed, I’d suggest everyone check their orders before leaving so you don’t get ripped off and pay double and while getting half your food.

was served by a short middle aged woman, she was very blunt with me and didn’t seem to care for customer service whatsoever. waited around 10 minutes for my small order with no staff letting me know how much longer i’d need to wait. after all this my order was still incorrect. very disappointing and upsetting as i usually love eating from here however will not be returning to this particular store any time soon

The food itself was standard. The guacamole was a little bland on the nacho fries and the bowl didn't give the fresh flavour that I hoped for. The service was quick and above standard of other areas. I definitely recommend the nacho chips for its combination and flavour. Probably the best out of all in the city.

I don't usually write reviews but I thought I needed to this time. So for the third time in a row my Vegetarian Nachos were quite pathetic. Firstly they looked like someone had just thrown together whatever was leftover and where was the cheese? Secondly, when is Guacamole classed as a chunk of avocado thrown on the side? Seriously. At least this time there was no chicken on it!

I've always been a big fan of Guzman y Gomez, but this branch is horrible. I've ordered 4 times since I'm in Melbourne and the Cali burrito at least taste like a really cheap burrito, no taste and a little weird texture. Every time is the same horrible taste. Nothing like the ones in Sydney or Cairns. Never again.

Went for their $5 opening promotion to get a shredded mushroom burrito. Solid and filling. Not greasy at all with soft wraps. Would like it more with some gherkin to cut through the carbs. Venue was super busy at 9pm for their opening day but still got served super fast since there was a lot of staff. Will be trying their $2 coffee sometime.

I ordered a gilled chicken bowl. It was mooshy, chicken was over-grilled making it super bitter, and EXTREMELY SALTY. I changed rice to salad and there was BARELY ANY SALAD. Won't ever order from this brand, terrible terrible experience, unbelievable even. I tried, but I couldn't swollow more of it, so I threw it out, $20 go to waste‍♀️

The large rice bowl seems to just have a large box. The stuff inside seems like a mini rice bowl. The $2 guacamole in large and $1 guacamole in mini seem the same. There does not seem to be any standard and it depends upon who is preparing the food.

Small and quaint guzman in North Melbourne just near the hospital. Always have great service here and the team are friendly and happy to help. Food was amazing other than missing the avocado in my burrito and the team are generally quick in getting it out orders. Will definitely be back.

Customer service is good except from few working there, who are rude and no matter what you say they write "OUT" meaning take away on your receipt and pack your food in a take away container. Probably so they don't have to serve on table.
