For at least 3 years I had a R199 pm black tag gym membership and I could take my son as one of my 5 guests every day. That was awesome as I basically took out the gym membership to give my son an opportunity to gym and get fit. However, the restrictions were that I could not gym out of my area and I did not have access to the spa. Then I was sold a R399 pm for 3 years platinum gym membership. Yay! Now I was entitled to bring as many guests as I wanted, I had access to the spa and I could gym out of my area. False pretences!!!! The only advantage I have is access to the spa and to gym out of my area! My guest list is now restricted to a different person every day!!!! Do I know 365 people? No! Their reasons.... Marketing. What! If the Gym cannot effectively and efficiently market their own product, why do I have to do their job for them I only have a maximum of 2 guests who happen to be the same who I would want to gym with. But alas, that door has been closed to me so now I am reduced to attending the gym and spa BY MYSELF! The receptionist (only one specific one) is not customer orientated. The others are extremely friendly but I am nervous to approach them just in case they throw the book at me for whatever reasons they can think of. The manager for whatever shift, at the Flora Centre Gym leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to customer service and as for the promises made by the marketing manager I would assume, well... I'm still waiting for feedback from Trevor who is the area manager? I'm really not sure of his designation because he has yet to call me to hear my story. This is why I am posting this review. I am extremely disappointed that no one at the Gym Flora Centre actually cares about reason, logic or their customers. I have no complaints about the Spa staff because they are awesome.

Flora center gym company is absolutely pathetic! 1) The employees hardly self understand the contract, when I took one out the beginning of the year we asked the guy questions and he hardly understood what we were saying and spoke in circles. We asked which banking details we should put on , mine or my mothers and he said mine and we said that I'm still a student and he said it is fine. A week later we received phone calls saying that this banking account cannot be used as I'm a student. We then fixed it and added the new banking details and at the end of the month they tried pulling off BOTH ACCOUNTS! 2) My mom spoke to the accounts women regarding this issue and she was so rude, the staff working there is absolutely rude in the office and the ones working in the gym! 3) There is a lack of equipment and when people spend more than half an hour on equipment while many people are waiting for their turn they continue taking photos and sitting on their phones on the equipment, when one complains to the staff they just laugh. 4) Some days the gym remains open during loadshedding and somedays when you walk in there like today they say we cant go in because it is loadshedding. (probably because its Friday and they want to leave early). They are so inaccurate with their times and never answer their phones. I AM PAYING FOR A GYM CONTRACT BUT CAN HARDLY GYM NOW DUE TO THE EXCUSE OF POWER FAILURES AND LOADSHEDDING. 5) The room downstairs with all the heavy machinery is disgusting! there is no ventilators downstairs a person walks down their and it smells like SWEAT!!!!!!!! this is so unhygienic especially at times like this! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS GYM TO ANYONE!!!!!!!!!

Been training there for more than a year. I'm a regular. There seems to be a serious problem with the hot water in the morning. I did ask the manager Wynand about it and he told me that it was a problem with the timer and that every time that there was load shedding then the timer did not kick in. We have been having load shedding for more than a year already but this problem has only started happening about a month ago. Who am I to argue? In any case. One of the other members asked George the fitness manager about the warm water. George told him that the furness was being heated by the solar power in the parking lot. There is hot water but only at from around 12PM in the afternoon so if any one is going to train in the mornings then please note that there is no hot water. This is just to give you guys a heads up as it is winter at the moment. I pray and hope that Gym Company sorts this problem out very soon.

This has been the worst gym experience....3 yrs of dealing with incompetent accounts department, bad service, no aircons & no generators. The manager Wynand excuse is always the mall management does not want to install aircons & they wont allow generators but yet all other shops operate with generators. So when we have loadshedding the gym is basically closed. Just when i tawt my 3yr nightmare has come to an end they eventually tell me i shudve informed them a mnth in advance that i want contract to end. So after filling out form & sending it back to them they didnt even acknowledge that they received form but are nw demanding paymnt which is rising every month...They do not even deserve one star tbh..They are breaking all Consumer Act regulations & ripping already cash strapped SAfricans off...Stay away from Gym Company Flora Center!

Accounts department not giving feedback nor answering calls when you contact them. I require an assistance with a contract cancellation. I have send an e-mail on 3rd July 2020 and still has not received any call nor any mail regarding my request. Is this ow you delay service and charge an individual because the facility are not being used for the past 7 months as you only cater for certain provinces and can not even refund your cash that was debited from the account. I would like to be contacted urgently as I want this account(contract) closed immediately. Gym company Flora center as I spoke to George multiple times and explained the situation with him but still as a Manager no assistance was granted. can you ensure that your accounts department contact me.

By Far the worst Gym I've dealt with in 20 years.. I've Cancelled this Membership twice and paid up all arrears twice and they keep sending me bills and notices to pay new arrears . I haven't been to this Gym once since 2019 yet was still paying a debit order . Now that their debit order is not going through , their own fault , they keep sending me letter of arrears after I've cancelled this membership. My wife took out a membership here at the same time and hers has been cancelled for over a year yet they expect me to jump through loops over and over again. What should we do next . Go to court about it.. I will not pay them another cent. They can blacklist me for all I care. I hate dealing with scam companies like this . So unethical and disgusting

So not to mention the countless irritation on Payment, embarrassing to say the least being 40yrs and never having an issue in my life. So today i called to get a schedule of classes and times they offer for my partner , and guess what i get told. He is out, he is the only person that can scan this and knows about the schedule??? So if a person is out the Gym Company will shut down. The service at reception is not always great and I actually cant wait for my contract to finish. I would rather pay a little more but know as a client my family matter. you can only matter if you "know" someone. Not to mention when i did have the account issue, did i loose it a bit because it had happened only like 3 times, i got told off by the manager. No sympathy.

Every month I have the same fight. They don't debit the account and give me hell with the outstanding balance. Get the usual sms, Pay or be listed BS. as if I am the one at fault....then their accounts department said I was to fill in a form to indicate how much they should debit....Uhm...check the contract? I will never recommend this gym to anyone. The sales person also lied saying that I could cancel at anytime during the promotion time when I signed up and only to find out two weeks after signing, you can only cancel in the first week cooling period. I do suggest to keep all communications in writing with the gym as it seems every wrong they do, its your fault.

An alright gym. Quite an improvement compared to back then. There is at least half, if not all of the equipments working. Non-functioning machines are at a minimal now. Kudos. Just one major negative: the twists & bends of memberships' Ts&Cs. The allowance of 3 months of freezing per year only apply to within the 36 months. Thereafter, the 3 months of freezing is no more. THEY NEVER MENTION THAT. You find out after 36months (month to month). The LOGIC behind that is really dreadful. Poor business sense. As for all the other things such as joining fees, cancelation and transferring, is all mentioned before hand. Safety & hygiene is also good.

The sales consultansts were practically trained to scam people, they never talk of the cool off period such that one can cancel the membership if no longer interested, when an individual tries to cancel the membership after this so called cool off period a cancelation fee is highly demanded, in conclusion, even if one does not use the facilities they still continue with their debit orders and they don't do a mistake about it. Unfortunately i can't do the review without giving a 1 star rating, they don't deserve even a single one. Poor service in general.

This is the worst company i had to deal with in my life. I canceled my contract in time with GYM Company Roodepoort clever enough gave them 30 days in order to cancel. The day I canceled paid my fees and I spoke to the manager or is it accounts lady who advised that I owe nothing. This was last year August 2018. So now this year June 2019 they have the nerve to call me and say I have an outstanding balance in order for my subscription to be canceled so how the heck would I know a year later? To be honest I am so disappointed at all of this.

I regret joining this gym. Everything about it is a scam. The sales people are trained to basically lie to customers. That is so bad. The only reason I joined is because its closer to home. Little did I know that I was making a big mistake. The bathrooms don't have soap dispensers. There is just no order. I cannot wait to get out of this contract and go back to Planet Fitness. I wouldn't' even refer this gym ( especially Flora Centre) to anyone. Pity I can't even post this without putting a star, it doesn't even deserve one single star.!!!

The consultant misled me into signing something which was contrary to what he explained to me verbally. Fortunately I cancelled that contract within their prescribed period after seeing that most of the terms are only favouring the company. The period of the contract is a turn-off. I feel it is not my responsibility to also pay what they call maintenance on top of my monthly payments. I was not satisfied with the ventilation. one star is for a lot of treadmills and I understand they do not have a time limit.

This gym is pretty standard. You pay for what you get. Often has machines out of order for a week at a time. Gets quite full, but at least other patrons are friendly enough to share with you. It just takes a long while to get through your workout. In terms of admin, it's a touch and go. You may have billing issues, and you may not. Generally, people I have spoken to tend to experience issues with the support staff. All in all, it is value for what you're paying, I suppose.

I came into the establishment today to get an idea of gym company and its offers. The sales representative was Unprofessional, not able to answer my questions, not friendly, not listening to what I was actually wanting, other sales reps kept barging into the office without apologizing and interrupting. I had never seen such poor service in my whole life, based off of that interaction I will never sign with gym company and I'll be happy to take my business elsewhere.

I have never visited your gym or been in Roodepoort, as I reside in Cape Town. Kindly ensure the accuracy of your administrative records and promptly remove my information from your system. I have made numerous requests and provided my proof of ID in attempts to clarify that I am not the intended recipient.

When phoning the Gym Company this afternoon to query about my son's contract, the lady who answered the phone could not help me, I could hear her talk to another colleague and laugh while she is with me on the phone. All of a sudden I was put on hold without the consultant advising me that, I held on and then the phone just dropped. Poor customer service. I would really like to cancel this contract when it is due for a renewal.

Never never join gym company. Flora centre gym company is very bad. They will take more amount of money of your account and then have long stories. When you cansel the contract they also have a lot of stories and charge you even more. The staff does not know how to work with payments. The manager Waynand is even worse and assault klients over the phone. Do not waste your time or money at gym company

I HATED THIS GYM the only reason I went to it was because it was the nearest gym, honestly the service, the equipment all of it is due for a HUGE change you have to pay thousands of rands to cancel your membership, you don't get any service the personal trainers don't help people who don't know what they doing leading to injury, go somewhere else!!!! Very disappointing and very out dated.

Front desk receptionist is extremely rude. Unhelpful. Her manner of speaking is terrible. Its as if shes doing us a huge favour by even directing us in. When she refused to help us i politely accepted and left. Only then did she want to assist. I have a 30 day free trial here and i doubt i will sign up

Not even a floodlight at the bottom weight section for when it's loadshedding. They made us leave before 6 a few weeks ago when they close at 8pm in the week. The employees aren't friendly at all. No generators either so check their loadshedding schedule everyday too!

Great branch but my only problem is that the music in the bathrooms are so so loud. You will never hear what a person is saying standing next to you. When there is loadshedding, they have no backups so you will shower with cold water and the treadmills won’t work

Tried to cancel my membership by phone since my emails go unanswered, they put me on hold for 2 minutes , drop the phone and when calling back I get a 'busy' signal - in an economy like ours its a shame that customer service is last on their list of priorities!

This place is -0 stars... Can't use machines during loadshedding and when cancelling you have to pay for the next 3 months after cancelation and the Sona is only on 3 times a day so it's an inconvenience when you want to use it or pay for

Great facility and amenities. Just wished they expanded the facility as there is no space or equipment for powerlifting or CrossFit training. The gym equipment is not the most up to date, but hopefully there'll be facility upgrades.

Worst gym I have ever been to. Pay your extra money and go to Virgin active. This place always has a excuse and closes early, no ventilation in gym area. Equipment takes 6 months to get fixed. Terrible experience
