Watch out, these people are sleazy. I’d been going here satisfactorily for years but this year they messed up my taxes AND charged me more. When I first pointed out the mistake, they fought me. Eventually they admitted that I was right and now, two and a half months later, they’ve filed the amendment - but all of a sudden they’re trying to claim that the fault was the IRS’s, thus annulling their Maximum Refund Guarantee, which would entitle me to a refund of my filing fee. Nothing changed in my tax situation, and these people at H&R Block admitted that they had new software this year, so I don’t buy the IRS story. They also acted like they’d done me a courtesy by fixing my taxes when they’d admitted that the fault for the error wasn’t mine. Lastly, I noted when I met with them months ago that the filing fee had gone up by $45, much more than previous yearly increases, and my preparer said she’d give me a discount if she could but no manager was present. After they wormed their way out of the Maximum Refund Guarantee, I asked if they could at least give me a discount - like they’d mentioned - for my trouble. My preparer conveniently forgot that she’d said that. And let’s not even mention the abysmal communication throughout this whole sordid process. Avoidance. Blaming others. Reneging on promises. These people are sleazy.

I went on a saturday evening workin two 2 jobs n was expecting a nice welcome or greeting nothing much.. the receptionist was more about her conversation over the phone which for sure wasnt any client or tax payers needs or question.. stood there waited for her to respond or make any commitment for her title, but instead she rolls her eye and points to me the chair... VERY OUTSTANDIN EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH.. Than sat there hearing all staffs brag about their problems. Very annoying. Kept making unnecessary jokes. Noticed alot of free time for most staff n kept walking back and forth with none related subject n very poor quality manners... wanted to refer a friend of mine but no longer. Lost my respect for sure.. very ignorant best way to describe.. U get where this is going? My advice.. if your tired from work n having a rough day dont go to this location.. i heard another tax payer was also fed up aswell. I am an assistant manager for my company n i would never treat or allow any client to be dealt the way my experince was that saturday evening.... ABSOLUTELY WORSE

Very unprofessional service. I made an appointment online with the closest office and received a call from Marian White to confirm. Thats when I told them I only need a certifying acceptance agent to apply for an ITIN. I have my tax returns and W7 filled out by my accountant and nothing else. For that I was told that theyll have to move my appointment to Monday 12pm with Meybel Moreira who is a CAA. I get to the La Brea office at 12 sharp on Monday and there is 1 agent helping out someone and I am asked to wait. They know I am here ONLY for an ITIN since thats how they identified me (so no communication errors there). Meybel rolls in at 12:30 and thats when we know shes had appointments since 10 but is only showing up now , wow. Anyways we go ahead and sit down and are told that they dont do ITINs and Ill need to file my taxes with them. I tell them I already have everything filed. But im told that they dont do ITINs only. So my time was wasted twice since set up and appointment on Wednesday the week before. Never EVER coming back to hnr block for anything.

First time using H&R Block (recommended by sibling) and I have to say I am glad I've finally given them a try but let down I didn't sooner because it was such a pleasing experience! From the moment I stepped into the office, I was greeted ever so kindly by MaryAnne (hopefully I spelled it correct) and shortly after attended by Mayvel (sorry once again I may have spelled it this wrong as well)to get me started on my tax forms. Mary was the rep that finished the job and was pleased with her service. Made everything clear and understanding. I definitely will be coming back to H&R Block again but more importantly, THIS location specifically!

This year I had not a good experience. The tax specialist looked like she didnt know what she was doing, which really makes me nervous, and my refund was $1200 less than the previous year.

Because you guys have great customer service and I always get the maximum amount back on my taxes. You guys are the most trustworthy tax place I've been to and all my time filing taxes.
