I'm sad to have to give this review, this clinic has been great previously. I had booked my Sons 12 month needles for today (3 days prior to his 1st birthday). I waited an hour and a half past my actual appointment time with no apologies or notification that Dr Kumari was running late only to be rudely turned away by Dr Kumari moments into his appointment and notified that for my son to have his Immunisation, he needs to be 12 months old and not a day earlier. I left the appointment in tears because of the way she made me feel. During the appointment Dr Kumari was rude, claiming there was nothing she could do, that i should have known better, that she didn't care for my inconvenience as she hadn't had time for lunch, to take it up with the Australian Immunisation Registry and see you later. She initially offered to weigh my Son so my time in their waiting room had some purpose but then recalled that, and told me to return when i "was in a better frame of mind" even though i was merely confused and questioning why I was being turned away 3 days before his birthday. I called the AIR as advised by Dr Kumari and confirmed they will accept vaccinations up to 1 week prior to 12 months. I have since called the clinic to make a complaint, attempt to resolve this with them directly and try to get my son vaccinated while i have the time, but no-one has returned my call.

Dr. Kumari Obeysekara is a wonderful doctor who is extremely professional, knowledgeable and thorough. Dr. Kumari is well supported by reception staff and a Practice Nurse who are also very professional, friendly and caring. I have always found Dr. Kumari to be very friendly, kind, caring, patient, easy to talk to and empathetic. I have never felt like I am just a number to Dr. Kumari as she has always taken the time to carefully listen, offer advice and explain everything fully. Dr. Kumari has also been very reassuring and helpful whenever I have needed to be referred to a Specialist for additional investigations and treatment. On the basis of the care I have received from Dr. Kumari, I can honestly say that I believe that Dr. Kumari goes above and beyond to get to know her patients and provide the best possible care. I am very happy and thankful to have Dr. Kumari Obeysekara as my GP and I would thoroughly recommend her to anyone looking for a competent, kind, compassionate, and caring doctor.

Dr Kumari has been our family GP for more than past 10years. She is a very experienced, professional and thorough GP with an eye to minute details. She is very well versed with various medical conditions and gives proper and apt treatments/ management for the same. Being from a medical field myself, I understand how important it is to get a reliable and trustworthy doctor to care for your family. She has cared for our kids from the time of their birth and has never disappointed us. She is very approachable, patient, kind and always greets you with a warm smile on her face. I booked a telehealth appointment today with Dr. Kumari I didn’t specifically ask for her but I needed a medical certificate for work as I had a sore throat and I couldn’t go to work. Every doctor including Dr Alaina has issued me a medical over telehealth appointment but Dr. Kumari out right said no which is ridiculous if this was the case I should have been notified before 7pm that she doesn’t issue medical certificates for telehealth appointments. She has wasted my time and I cannot get a medical from another DR at this time. Very irresponsible of her to wait till the last minute to let me know this and she had no empathy what so ever during the conversation!! Poor handling of the situation. I cannot find a doctor at this time and My workplace is requesting a medical certificate had I been told earlier that she does not issue medicals I could have gone to another doctor.

Lack of knowledge around certain medications was terrible - even I knew more and I am not a medical professional. The doctor tried to tell me that panadene extra is a schedule 8 medication, and that my neurologist (who is very well regarded), is prescribing me the wrong migraine preventatives (candestartan). This doctor made me feel embarrassed about my medical history, and took no time to listen to my reasons for being there. I didn't even get to ask her about my main concern, as I felt she was so dismissive that she wouldn't even give me the right advice or help. I will never go back here, and I think a lot of the positive reviews must be fake. Now I know why she has so many available appointments each day. Very disappointed.

I have been going to Dr. Kumari's clinic for the last 8+ years. She was successfully able to manage my complicated medical condition and knew the right Specialist to refer me to. She never gives me the wrong medication or the wrong dosage and offers the alternative option for some meds without being brand specific. My Specialists and I are very happy with the management she performs over my health.. There were ample opportunities for me to switch to another GP but none of them came close to the kindness and care that Dr. Kumari has provided. I can recommend her to anybody.

Dr Kumari has been an amazing GP. Her treatments are not rushed and she always makes sure to go into detail to single out the problem.She has a vast knowledge and years of experience that has helped me and my family throughout. She is very empathetic and really attentive to your whole situation and not just the illness. I definitely highly recommend Dr. Kumari and Hills doctors. Dr Kumari is an exceptional doctor. Not only is she caring but she works tirelessly to get to all her patients for the day. She always listens to your concerns and she is terrific with babies. She made my baby feel so comfortable when administering vaccines and he rarely cries during visits. If you are looking for a fantastic family doctor she is the one.

Dr Kumari Obeysekara is very dismissive and condescending. She is only interested in helping you if you plan on becoming a regular patient. It might be a bulk-billing clinic but she is clearly still money hungry. She also has very poor communication skills and lacks empathy. She does not validate your concerns or follow-up correctly.

Always a 1 hr wait even if you have an appointment. My experience here was very confusing. Doc did a test to identify the cause of some pain I was having but there was no follow-up about the results of the test? Had to book another appointment and redo the test. Only good thing about the practice is its location + bulk billing.

Hills Doctors is an amazing practice that allows for a great comfortable environment. Dr. Kumari was one of the best doctors that I’ve had as a general practitioner and quickly diagnosed my sickness.
