Hackney Downs station has a very small entrance and ticket hall area so when it is rush hour it can a few minutes to get in and out of the station due to the amount of passengers in a small area. There is no disabled access to the platforms only stairs there is a coffee shop on the platform but no toilets. The platforms are long and the station was clean when I was here. One great thing about Hackney Downs station is that you can interchange with Hackney Central Station at platform 1. Its around a 5 minute walk so there is no need to come out of either station. Hackney Downs Station is also very busy with lots of passengers.

Sad place. Try it on a busy PM and they will queue people up to LEAVE the station one by one. They want your money, so literally you trapped inside a station to leave. They treat you like sheep as they don’t have the infrastructure and TFL loosing money big time. Looser station and actually dangerous as some people have no patience in East London if you know what I mean. Good luck with this system in a heated summertime guys! I’d rather take care of my own staff not to mention my customers vs leaving this operating how it is now. TFL is in the need of new management!

Peak time Very busy station. It big station. 50 stairs to each plat form. This is not good station for old people as their is no lifts or wheelchair access. Staff is amazing and always lovely travelling instructor by station managers. Mr.Terry (Station Manager) is a nice person and always helpful. This station has good connection between hackney down & Hackney Central. This station need modernisation. Accelerators & Lift definitely recommend part of upgrading. Ticket office must be opened all the time from first train to last train.

The community gardens on the platforms are nice. The book loan trolley is wonderful to leave books and take one when there’s something there - wish more stations had this! It can be a little confusing at first changing over from Hackney Central. But there are signs to help.

To get across fom Hackney Central to Hackney Downs is quite a trek with some steep steps although there are lifts for fisabled access and mums with pushchairs 4 platforms there so can be a little confusing at first Take your time and enjoy your journey

This station is very nice! It has plenty of services! The walk to hackney central however takes forever and this station is not accessible at all! The station itself is very nostalgic and has a very interesting vibe to it.

Clean. Cleaner than it used to be thanks to investment. Something previous companies seemed to understand very little. No lift and no wheelchair access though.... Yet. Hopefully they'll get it sorted at some point

I use the station every day, pretty good station although no lifts, however the highlight is the man who I assume is the station manager, who always brings a smile to my face with his cheerful announcements.

Easily one of the worst stations in London , no lifts no escalators no loos ….considering the community it services is quite large it doesn’t make sense for it to be in such poor shape and disrepair.

This station has to have better access to platforms... Currently there are only stairs, no escalators no lifts... People with buggies and with mobility issues cannot use this station easily.

It’s my local station I use it every day however they need lifts toilets and escalators nice station after all but they need to add thing to it so it’s convenient for the community

Decent enough interchange which is honestly perked up by whoever is doing those fantastic announcements here at the station. Props to you and have a good day as well!

Why are there no toilets?! A station this size should definitely have some! I'd understand it if the overground trains had toilets but they don't! Not ideal.

Pretty good, once had some ruffians lighting fireworks on the stairs but it's okay I just walked across to Hackney Central and left via that station instead

Walkway to Hackney Central overground station is at the end of the platform (opposite end to the station exit). This is quicker than going via the roads.

Friendly and helpful staff always willing to go the extra mile to give me confidence to carry on my journey with all the information that I need.

Great hood, not far from Victoria Station. You can be there in about 25-30 min with the overground and the underground.

Easy accès to Liverpool Street, and linked to Hackney central (overground) station, which is very complementary

Great station with adequate signage for your journey planning and helpful staff if you are unsure of anything .

My dog loves the Downs. Plenty Dog walkers/groups etc so pretty good way to socialise your dog if friendly

I love this station so much I come here to nap, take my afternoon tea and solve my suduku.

Station provides trains to a variety of locations across East/North London and beyond

No lifts for buggy or wheelchair users, please avoid them or use alternative stations

Old station in desperate need of renovation and is also limited on transport links.
