Beautiful peaceful flat walking. A bit waterlogged in places. Full of the history of the Battle of Barnet. Surrounded by some magnificent houses. Duck ponds with tethered floating homes for the waterfowl. Information boards about the Battle, the rare acid grassland plants. Possibly thousands of common soldiers buried where they fell but NO memorial to the fallen soldiers pressed into service by their feudal lords!!
This small nature reserve an unexpected revelation to the uninitiated. On this narrow and limited space, a parcel of acid grassland, trickling brooks, ponds and a surprising variety of scattered trees. Within minutes I’d spotted swathes of Tormentil and clusters of Cranesbill. Pleasant, peaceful; the expertise and maintenance clearly evident here. Largely unheralded, deserving of wider recognition and acclaim.
I visited Hadley Green in August 2022 when walking the London Loop route around London. This is the end of one section of the Loop and the state of the next, but, unlike most other change over points, it has very limited public transport with none on Sundays, so it is easiest to just go through here rather than end your walk here. However, it seemed like a pretty village.
It's in the center of Barnet, but it's soooo quiet, and green, and a great walk. It's not too big, but always enjoyable nonetheless. Also, if you go at the right time of day, usually in the morning, there's a beautiful parade of doggies!!!
Ideal place to go for a peaceful walk around the open spaces and sit by the pond to relax. I'm sure there's plenty of history behind Hadley Green, and in particular the surrounding buildings.
Lovely trek path in Hadley. Its quite long though, starts from Hadley Common and finishes all the at Cockfosters. Beautiful forest views and of course the fishing lake More
You can't fish there. Nice place to see the ducks. Very serene.
Picnic area
Not really a picnic area. Ducks are present.
Ancient common at the western end of Enfield Chase. Good for a walk or two, with fine houses and an ancient church to look at.
Amazing green space ....many benches to rest on. A few lovely little ponds and ducks. Very uplifting and therapeutic.
Beautiful neighbourhood, green, clean and clam place.. amazing place for walk.. big and long green place for walk.
Nice area for a walk. 3 ponds with ducks and one with a couple of geese. Several bench seats.
It is a pleasant place to walk your dog, especially on a sunny sunny day like today.
