I drive more than 45mins to see Elex as he is one of the best, most professional hair dressers in Melbourne. I have tried people closer to me, wherever I have lived (incl. in my 5km radius when I was desperate during covid) but I keep going back to Elex. After 23 years of having him look after my hair, he wins every time with cut, colour, styling and overall finish. Elex listens to his clients and how they wear their hair so you get what you’re aiming for and its something you can reasonably maintain yourself. Elex has great attention to detail and keeps your hair healthy (he doesn’t damage hair just to achieve a temporary look/style like some hairdressers). It’s a relaxing, no-fuss experience with a reliably great result and I highly recommend him!

Call off the search party… the search is over!! After many trials (and some not-so-great experiences elsewhere) I have found my perfect hairdresser!! Worst haircut of my life and I used to go to Salon express for $25 cuts. I'm also including every haircut when I was a child. I did not get what I asked, and Ive done amateur cuts myself at home that were better than this. Elex also cut off so (I have long hair) much hair when I just went for a trim that I can't even tie it up or cut more off to fix it now. I hate leaving bad reviews but I can't justify spending $30 on this cut let alone $103.

I just had Elex finish the Goldwel Kerasilk smoothing treatment on my naturally frizzy and hard to mange hair and I am so happy with the result. My hair not only looks super healthy and shiny but it is now really easy to manage. Very happy with the result and I now book in for this treatment twice a year. Highly recommend Hair Performance and Elex to do this treatment.

-5 star if there is!! Charged professional price but produce DIY hair cutting service. Used a clipper for a girl's hair cut and called it done! Almost paid $45 to get a DIY style that I could have done a MUCH BETTER job myself from home. I wonder where they professional hair styling certificates came from.

Great colour, great cut, great customer service, great value and great magazines. I was so happy with the whole experience here. When I had trouble communicating what I wanted Alex was extremely patient with me. I am considering coming up from the Peninsula to go here regularly.

Hair was destroyed, worst experience ever. Feel like you should know how long to leave bleach in to not burn hair as a hairdresser, but what would I know

I should have just cut my hair myself at home. He spent 5 minutes cutting my hair and it looks like a child did it. Worst cut experience ever.
