"Not the friendliest HEB"
"This HEB was good for finding a few things other stores don't have"
"The only HEB in town I can deal with"
"This Is the HEB Closest to where I reside at the moment"
"Walked away from my basket for less than 5 minutes"
Not the friendliest HEB. Customers are rude. Employees don't make eye contact or speak to you unless you engage them first. This is not my normal HEB, but I was helping a blind friend shop there. My blind friend likes to hold onto the handle of the shopping cart while I pull the basket from the opposite end. I was guiding her down one of the aisles to get an item on her shopping list. As we got to the other end of the aisle, our way was blocked by an abandoned motorized shopping cart. We asked an HEB employee standing nearby if she could move the cart for us. She responded that there was room for us to walk around the cart. We tried to do so but discovered that there was not enough room for our cart to squeeze around the motorized cart, and we could not turn around to go the opposite way at this point. Making sure that we knew what a difficult and over-the-top request this was, the HEB employee finally called another HEB employee to move the abandoned motorized cart to its cart corral where it could charge.
This HEB was good for finding a few things other stores don't have. And enough human checkout people. YES --the house brand diced tomatoes with green peppers, onions & celery - other HEBs only have plain, or spicy Mexican kinds. Even better, boxes of barley!! It's really good for the heart, having soluble fiber to clear the vessels. They have the regular longer cooking kind, which like oatmeal is better. Shortcuts like fast food or quicker cooking food, it's always settling for not as good. I make 6 servings of barley using 1 cup, have it handy so two people can have it 3x and you cooked only once. You put more water than it says & any flavors you like. Balsamic vinegar, soy sauce, molasses, smoke essence, bay leaves, oregano, paprika... It goes with all kinds of other food - open a can of beans or have lentils on while the barley's simmering, there's your complete protein.
The only HEB in town I can deal with. I have been going have since they reconstructed Hancock center and built it there. I have need to shop in HEBS in other parts on town such as Mueller, Slaughter, Oakhill, Great Hills, Brodie, and the new one at 290 W and FM 1826, and etc. This store has the only consistency in stocking, product selection, and employees willing to help get things off the top shelf or tell me where somethim has been moved. They don't just tell me they insist on taking me to the new site which I appreciate but I tell them that I don't need an escort just the new location. But they insist. You don't get this in the other stores. If and when I do find some to find someone alot of the time they don't know and say they have to find someone else to help so after waiting I finally get tired and leave.
This Is the HEB Closest to where I reside at the moment. It is pretty easy to catch the bus to get there altho there's a pain in the neck transfer, they're both short in time spent.. I Do lk this HEB.. & many I Do Not.. i Lk the way it is set up considering they're all different I'm accustom to it here & feel comfortable.I'm sure the staff sees me come'n & are lk Jk..Or maybe not..♀️ What can I say. But They're very nice here & also very helpful. It's Clean, Not too big & Not too small.. And I always taste the grapes b4 I buy them & nobody cares.. And thz days.. that's unique as it is. ..... ** Plus, They mk an Excellent kick a*s pizza too. .. Enjoy...
Walked away from my basket for less than 5 minutes. Came back and it was gone. Found same items returned to shelf, so was taken by an employee. Very frustrating. Also, in Austin only, HEB continues to charge for bags, even though the bag ban has been overturned. No other major retailer does this. This is ridiculous. Complaints fall on deaf ears, and the hypocrisy of statements defending the action of doing this in Austin but NO WHERE ELSE is astounding. Frankly, if there was another affordable grocery chain in competition with them, I'd never set foot inside HEB again. But the alternatives are Randall's and Walmart. So stuck dealing with HEB.
Hancock Center has my favorite HEB because usually it's well stocked on everything I like, and then some. Both staff & patrons for most part behave well. I also like visiting Freebirds just south from Capitol Metro stop there. When in mood for fast food I visit Wendy's at same location next to IH 35. They usually have a decent portioned value deal, and good spacing if I want to eat inside. I'm also looking forward to see who occupies now empty building used by Sears. It has a lot of square footage. It be a dream come to true to see it refurbished as an upper end multicultural center for arts and family oriented fun.
This is where I go when I need whole coffee beans. They have the best selection. I think this is my second favorite heb. The parking across from the bus stop is always available and their plant section is legit. The produce is always fresh and their cheese selection is on point. Oh yeah they carry nopales and have a large international foods section. The pet supplies and frozen foods are extensive and they do a better job of stocking vital farms eggs than my heb. Also the clearance section always has a gem or two. The checkout lines can be long at times so I try to go off peak but you never know.
This grocery store is way more than just a grocery store. It literally makes you feel like you're a rich shopper just being inside of such a fancy place, with the exact same low prices as any other regular grocery store. I love this place, and totally recommend trying HEB's whipped cream, made in their bakery. It is so good it'll make you question why you've ever even tried any other brand, have an early midlife crisis, and live on nothing but this whipped cream for at least 3 weeks before you decide to strengthen yourself up again and return to normal
SO Disappointing as an H.E.B. Poorly stocked shelves. Disorganized Aisle not labeled to indicate what the container (breads, dairy, vegetables, cleaning supplies. This seems like basic store management 101 for efficiency for customers. Staff seemed to wander aimlessly and only somewhat helpful. Not the kind of atmosphere and service I expected from H.E.B. They need to up their game! The store did Not look like the photos a few years back. I left feeling frustrated and like I had wasted a lot of time. I won't be shopping here and I do not recommend for other.
I love that this store is always clean, and they usually have every register open. Everyone is always very polite here The outdoor food court and bar area is nice. I love when they have live music. ☺️ They only have 2 minor flaws at this location. 1. The front end is kind of small so the lines get a little crazy. But like I said before, every register is usually open, and the cashier's are pretty fast. 2. They do not have any self check-out stations. Other then that, I love this location. Especially bc it's the closest HEB that has a gas station.
This is a nice store, a little dated but organized well. Parking lot and store can be a little crazy depending what time you shop. People in general don't seem to pay much attention where they are going, Parking lot or store. To busy on their phones, looking down... Employees are friendly and helpful in finding what you need or answering a question. Small personal quibble, I wish they had more vegan options but not bad for a general supermarket.
my favorite HEB in all of Austin, and I've been to a lot. They have everything from all big HEB departments, its like an HEB Plus but not named so. It's pharmacy is quick and has good service. The coffee is in beans and they have all the organic things people love nowadays. They have a bank inside, and they have the usual business center. The hours are very wide. It's another reason why central Austin is my favorite region of the city.
I could not get by somedays without Hancock Center. There's an urgent care center, grocery store with a 24-hour pharmacy, and an exceptional Jack In The Box. But, dont take my word for it. Unfortunately, there are some retail kills by Covid and even prior to quarantine. But this is a well rounded shopping center that again, is critical to this community. *pictured is empty retail space and a great Jack In The Box location ♡
Most amazing grocery chain I've ever seen really an inspiration to small business owners and entrepreneurs there team and employment strategy and community involvement are some of the highlighting features that make this company one that will last a lifetime thank you for employing so many people and giving them an opportunity and responsibility and means to raise their family God bless you for all the efforts
This wonderful HEB is open 24 hrs, has a robust self checkout, great vegetarian/vegan options in refrigerated and frozen locations, and your standard HEB prices. Be warned: this is a college student heavy location; it is often quite busy and frequently has items sold out. It's still a great HEB, but unless you shop on Tuesdays at 1 am it's probably going to be busy. 100% worth shopping here though.
This HEB is excellent. It offers a great selection in all departments including a large health focused natural food section. They offer an outdoor offer of plants. I like that outside they also have two self serve purified water machines. Most of these machines have been hard to find since Covid-19 started . I do wish there were change options from cash. They take digital pay with fees added.
I have been going to this HEB for 30 years. I've watched it go through a metamorphosis over the 30 years. Always have the stuff I need and want. Always very versatile as far as what they have is available. It is my go-to shopping store. Know the managers and some of the staff. And watched it go through the changes over the years. I just like this store. Clean fast and friendly. Enough said.
When I walk in the main entrance, the red hand basket holder is usually empty. So I take a right and go to the self checkout area where a huge stack of those baskets exists. The "workers" there are chatting and playing on their phones. Why does management do nothing? Parking sucks because of many unused spots closest to store with signs marking them for special use.
It was great together there you go closer to home but not much closer I didn't realize how close it was to my house with one bus to take store was bigger cleaner nicer less-crowded the cloture nice place was great at everything I wanted and it was took me less time to get to and from home better shopping experience and better to get home and back it was wonderful
You can grab a bite to eat at multiple places. Get coffee. Hit T-mobile and pay a bill or get a new phone and you can not be in TX and forget about the HEB. Twin liquors is in the same parking lot so it's almost a one stop shop for a good bit of different things to take care of in your day. Plus it's easy to get to and close to a lot.
This is my place to go for my BBQ fix. The service there is always awesome! I get the three meat plate qith brisket, sausage, and turkey. Couple that with a side okra and potato salad, then top it off with banana pudding or peach cobbler, and I'm stuffed and grinning like my stuffed animals. Yes, it's a treat. Keep it up, you all!
It's a great shopping center during the day. It's gotten worse since pandemic. Freebirds is still good. They put a Jo's coffee in where the Coffee Bean and Tea was. Has a anchor store HEB in it. There's a lot of other stores too. You have to kind of watch yourself though with parking that you don't get run over by someone texting.
The employees here are incredible. I had Ram (staff) help me with my account. I recently moved from Dallas and had an active account. Unfortunately there was an issue and he let me in for the day after I explained my situation. The next day , the issue with my account was resolved. I really recommend getting a membership here!
HEB. Now this is how a big store should operate. Always find what I need and your employees are always helpful and friendly! Not only at this location but I can say with certainty that most if not all HEB stores are run with these principles. I can't remember ever having a bad shopping experience in an HEB store. Thank u.
I've been in this place a couple times and it has great variety and the fantastic HEB prices. It's close to downtown. There are a lot of homeless people close by, they live under the freeway in tents, but the store does a great job of keeping a dress code for everyone and providing security over watch in the parking lot.
I feel very fortunate to have found this place. I am from out of State and a Vegetarian. The server guy was very friendly and helpful. The food came out pretty quick, was eye appealing and tasty. The place was clean and our party of four was satisfied with their meal. I will keep this spot in mind for future visits!
We're from out of state. Every time we get in the area, we stop by HEB. On this trip we learned that there are huge differences from one store to the next. This HEB is one of the large stores and we live it. Clean, well stocked and maintained. Friendly, helpful employees. Great store, thank you, see you next time!
This store is one of their bigger stores so you our going to find more variety of things you either need or want. I have a dog and their is a large selection of fairly cheap but good quality dog food. They have some toys to for your animals. I never have to wait in line when I come here. In and out ninja style
I have been shopping here for years. Clean, organized, well stocked. The employees are helpful and pleasant to deal with. Special thanks to those who worked during the Covid pandemic. They have good handicapped parking and will assist in getting you electric cart if needed. Parking lot security always on duty.
This is a good HEB. The selection is good, and there are a fair number of high-end and specialty products. It is one of the busiest HEBs in the city, but they do a good job of keeping the self-checkout constantly moving. Also, the in-store pizzeria is pretty good (especially if you have their weekly coupon).
I love HEB in general. Employees are always nice and helpful. Prices are generally great. Shelves are always stocked. Great selection. My only complaint is that sometimes the pharmacy at this location can be a little on the slow side sometimes. However, overall, it's a great store. Way better than Walmart!!
This is my favorite HEB for the selection (Mueller is also good). My biggest issue is that people are often parked in the curbside parking, and I wanna park there! And I'm even curbside! And they aren't! The audacity! Oh, also, there are a lot of youths because of the proximity to UT. I'm scared of youths.
I wish they had these stores in Georgia I would shop there everyday or every time I need groceries I bought some vegetables and some fruit man it was good and fresh all nice sliced up for me and everything and I bought a salad it was great I shopped there every time we needed something for my vacation stay
One of the best HEBs around. Big, clean, well-stocked. Good selection, but not great. As long as you are making tacos or BBQ, youre fine. If you need "gourmet" ingredients, youre not going to find them at this or any HEB. HEB should look at brands like Wegman's, since HEB is pretty much your only choice.
Nothing was even slightly bad about my visit. It was quite nice, and we even got free popcorn with nacho cheese powder. Take that, Cost Co! Very high quality and versatile store, overall. Wait time for prescriptions was rather short, and the pharmacy techs were quite courteous and helpful.
It is a very nice clean store with variet of freshly made food. However, you can't find 1 person to help you if you are looking for something. It seems they are low in employees or at least helpful employees. They also don't have many special deals & coupons like more other HEB stores,
HEB has nice people working there most of the time very helpful good food big selection a foods to pick from all the Halloween stuff was so neat and had a big selection to choose from. I just see that up people that work there take up parking that should be for customers.
Great HEB... Wish the produce section was larger and more diverse (more Central Market-ey) but they have a great meat and international section. The Mexican candy aisle is on point and they rarely ever have empty shelves. Beer and bread have tons of local/fresh choices!
This H. E. B is the bomb! Very clean and everything is in good order. I didn't have any issues getting around to get what I needed. Wish I would have taken pictures of the inside to show off it's beauty, but unfortunately I was in a hurry buying our Christmas dinner!
i love this HEB! I always find what I am looking for. They have a great variety in organic products. Nice and clean restaurant inside the store. Everything looks very neat. I wish there were an olive bar like some other HEB! on weekends live music is great …
Very convenient spot with good bakery, veggies, and butchers section. There's a couple of items that I sometimes have to go to super markets to pick up. Service is great, but lines can sometimes take longer than anticipated. That might just be my luck!
My only complaint is all the UT students but since I was once a student I understand their enthusiasm for everything - shopping included. Great food from fresh meats and seafood, fruits and vegetables, frozen foods of all kinds and best for
I come here for a few of the stores that assist me with my needs. It’s clean and kept in good shape. It always seems to be bustling whenever I’m there. Jason’s Deli is always a great place to stop in for soup or a sandwich if you’re hungry.
There are other centers and they never hold, but the attempt to yoke chaos is - probably according to Aristotle if not Gilgamesh - virtuous, which makes 'Hancock Virtuous', if not a better name, a particular name for this particular center
Three years ago, I moved from within a few miles of the Hancock Center HEB to far North Pflugerville, but I still frequent it. It is joy of a shopping experience! The store is everything HEB has become famous for; exceptional variety, HEB
Had so much fun here. We spent hours here. We had dinner at Jack In The Box where the staff was great. The food was hot. The place is clean. Adriana which great waitress. She let me pray with her. We met Miranda at Sprint. She was very
I love the Asian section of every spice Soy sauces You can think of. The store is a lil over crowded for my taste . But to be expected as it's a very well stocked store vegetable & fruit isle are fresh & store is very well stocked.
My favorite Austin Restaurant. Staff are wonderful. Food is unique without being weird. My favorites are the pasta dishes, and sharing a wood fired pizza at the bar. I always listen to the staff appetizer recommendations.
Jason's Deli provides an outstanding dining experience with a family conscious menu and atmosphere. Their Manager's Special and Salad Bar are favorite options. Love the soft serve ice cream as a finishing touch. …
I've been shopping at HEB Hancock since I moved here in 1995 and it's still one of the best HEB grocery markets. The customer service is excellent and the atmosphere has not changed since my first shopping experience.
This heb Hancock is a great all around shop. Heb plus store with awesome florist and live plants . a hot deli/pizza/sandwich bar. There is cafe seating . the bakery always has the best cream puffs, and cannoli.
I enjoy shopping at any HEB. Have been visiting and shopping for years. Always check for deals on their brands. Either way, it's one place that I enjoy. One may want to experience Central Market, owned by HEB.
I Actually Really Love HEB! This is one of my favorites. It's big & clean, & I go there when I'm at the gym around the corner. In the same parking lot. No pictures I will try to do better to help the community
HEB is the best. I'm surprised that they don't have a wedding chapel over there by the milk and eggs, we all know that Texans would love an HEB themed wedding, plus they could do the catering. Win Win!
I have been coming to Hancock Center since I was 3 years old...many moons ago. Nothing is the same, however, I'm happy to remember going to Sears with my Mother. I actually visited Amazing Lash Studio.
Anything you want, Hancock Center provides! Well stocked and clean environment...Parking lot security ensures a safe shopping experience. Bus station on site and nearby the HEB. …
My go to grocery store. They have fresh tortillas and pizza. Also fresh juice, guacamole, salsa, chips and a lot of good stuff. Please make the store timings to be 24 hours again.
Two guys old enough to know better had the music on their phone turned up so loud it was annoying. No consideration. Totally self absorbed a holes. Socially stunted development.
Went to the HEB and was perfect. A couple of homeless wandering arround or stationed where there is trees but nothing out of the ordinary or that would make you feel unsafe.
Hancock center has everything you need. The best grocery store on the planet! HEB and if you don't find your favorite spirit there. Spec's liquor is just a few doors down.
Definitely one of my preferred stores.. I've had some issues with the pharmacy and fresh produce but it's rare. Love the bulk and health food section in this store.
Convenient and diverse places to eat, shop and pay bills. I hope Hancock makes reasonable use of the old Sears space. Something for the entire surrounding community
Items are displayed neatly, and stock is usually plentiful. They run out of Smokehouse Salmon meals quickly - hope they start making more - they're amazing!
Most items in stock 24/7 mo Betta than Muller and much much better than Springdale in cleanliness the low life's through their trash & diapers everywhere.
Always a very friendly, fun place to shop. This is our home store so we are here often picking up our groceries. Staff are very friendly and helpful.
I live in a Cedar Park and work downtown. I try to come here twice e amounts for flowers snd the hot Pizza. This HEB beats my HEB plus hands down.
I will never visit this location again the employee in the self-checkout screamed at me and told me to hurry up this is really not a good location
Same day appointment services! The others take at least two weeks to be seen, had my lab and treatment all in the same day at the same location.
Hancock Center is the the only remaining Hyde Park 'good vibe'... especially since few of us can afford to live in Hyde Park anymore.. …
Very nice store. So much to look at for the fall season. Associate's we're hard at work. But stopped to help me find what I was looking for.
The HEB is one of the best I've been to. Good selection and prices. Fresh produce and ingredients. Can get a bit busy after noon though.
My favorite HEB in ATX Everyone is so vibrant and bubbly Always clean and user friendly Keep up the great work guys and gals!!!!
The basketball courts need some new nets. Other than that, place was fairly clean. Update 2022. Courts are good. Just slippery.
Best heb in Austin! And Southflo is the bomb! Shout out to Lamond for always doing an exceptional job over there with my pizza!
My favorite HEB ever in Austin Tx. One of the best for amazing choice options and the BEST fresh salad and sandwiches too go .
There are many small businesses hiding among the bigger stores shadows. I hope to check out some of them soon.
A bit more grungy then some other HEBs but still has good selections and a vast variety of items.
Great store, great neighborhood atmosphere, love it, lines are a little long, but it's no biggie.
this HEB has the best selection of items I have not been able to find at most other HEBs'
Really nice HEB that seems to have all your needs covered especially fors grocery store.
Love the HEB , Freebirds and Jasons Deli. The barber shop is great hidden next to H-E-B.
Rude ,HEB is a monopoly and they push out other stores to satisfy there family greed.
It's a strip mall. With buses! And the world's greatest grocery chain. And burritos!
Lots of stores, lots of parking and multiple buses coming straight into the center.
Clean and helpful employees. Well trained. Keep up the good work. Good Management.
I like the service at this location the best as I do deliveries and time is $$$
Good food and products, some aggressive drivers and rough parking situation
Awesome store! A little bit of everything. Students everywhere. Open 24/7.
Love shopping here good prices. A very clean store and helpful staff
I picked up my prescription there and oh wow the HEB is so big!
Definitely one of the Wonders of the World. Marvelous. Salute
Always busy. H E B had everything I needed. It was awesome.
Good place to shop for groceries but little bit expensive.
Time changes everything and this spot has done just that.
Awesome shopping experience among all the UT students.
Best to go before the birds take over in the evening.
They got good home made soup.. chicken noodle soup
Nice grocery store. Well laid out. Fresh produce.
We love HEB Plus here in this shopping center.
