"Let’s start off with I’ve been sitting and waiting for almost 2 hours and the lady’s at front told me specifically that I needed a application for timed temp permit to go ahead and get some temp plates for someone and after sitting for 2 hours waiting they call me to the window just for the lady to have a horrible attitude AND tell me I need power of attorney"
"I have filed my petition on 7/28/2022 and still have not gotten any court hearings"

Very positive jury duty experience! Judge Carter was great – he was respectful of our time, and educated us about the process. He was also respectful to the defendants and everyone else in the courtroom. I arrived a few minutes before 10 AM, and we were dismissed around 11:15 because all the day’s 189 cases were resolved without needing a jury trial. Contrary to some of the other reviews, which are probably about the tax office and other services in the building, the courtroom and the entire staff in it were very efficient. Here are a few JUROR TIPS from my experience, in case you found this while getting ready for jury duty: 1. Bring a book! You can’t use your phone in the courtroom (I don’t know about e-readers, so a physical book is safest). I was surprised how many people just sat there for over an hour just looking around. 2. Wear comfortable clothes, but look presentable. Business casual is perfect. Bring a light sweater if you’re someone who gets cold. 3. Realize what a privilege it is to live in a country that provides for a jury trial, and to serve as a juror. I really mean that. Most countries don’t offer jury trials, and of those that do, many allow it only for the most serious of crimes. Aside from voting and military service (if you choose to do that), being a juror is one of the few ways our U.S. Constitution compels us to serve each other. It is your job to be a juror when it’s your turn, and you may be called upon to make important decisions impacting one of your fellow citizens. It may not be convenient, but this is a few hours of JP court at most; it’s not like you’re going to be sequestered for weeks on a murder trial – not at this court anyway. 4. Try to enjoy your time in court, learn something, and maybe catch up on some of your reading.
Let’s start off with I’ve been sitting and waiting for almost 2 hours and the lady’s at front told me specifically that I needed a application for timed temp permit to go ahead and get some temp plates for someone and after sitting for 2 hours waiting they call me to the window just for the lady to have a horrible attitude AND tell me I need power of attorney.. and legit just repeated her self after I told her that the ladies in the front told me something else and proceeded to ignore me and disregard what I told her and called a complete different number. I understand theirs rules but atleast be less rude and and answer some simple questions and ontop of that teach the front desk ladies what is needed instead of having people wait for 2+ hours just to be dismissed
I have filed my petition on 7/28/2022 and still have not gotten any court hearings. The sheriff from Harris County Constables could not serve the defendant even though the defendant has physical address and office onsite. So, I decided to hire a private process server and they were able to serve the defendant. I asked the court civil supervisor about the court hearing. He said he is not sure about service (defendant has been served) but there will be a trial. I replied to him back and said how can it be a trial if there is no service. I thought these people are knowledgeable, but I guess not.
Justice Court Precint 1 , Place one. Room 138. I am absurdly offended & disappointed in this court room. The office clerk in this room by the name of, Monica Ramos, is not only unprofessional but also neglects her work. She is used as a translater, which she doesn't have the patience for. She saw this old Spanish speaking man struggling too understand the directions being given to him but was too damn busy flirting with her co workers to care ! I am sure this is not the only person that has gone without help! I am truly disgusted!
There is no point taking residents to court in this court room. They take up to 4 weeks to give you a court date, and hope they don't change it for a later date, resident can make an appeal with nothing and you have to wait another 4 to 6 weeks for another court date. That means your resident will live for free in the unit for at least 3 months. I called the court room and spoke with John Marron and he was no help. I try to ask him simple question about how there procedure works and he said he can not answer my questions.
I was the second person to arrive and when they opened the doors 15 minutes to 8 everyone that arrived after me just zoomed right in.....I thought that was rude. The clerk that attended me was rude. She gave the customer before me that look with an attitude. The place had just opened for business and she already had an attitude. Lady leave your problems at home or elsewhere. Don't take it on anyone else. But it didn't take me long to get what I went for.
Jury Duty here was very, very organized. Judge Eric William Carter is very respectful of your time and runs an efficient court. Arrived at 9:30. Jury duty began at 10am. We were released by 11:20 as they had already processed over 170 cases. He doesn't mandate the 8AM arrival time as they are just beginning the legal process between attorneys. I'd rather go to this location and I live minutes from the downtown Courthouse! Thanks Judge Carter!!!
Country as Hell. I'm sitting outside as I type this, business Hours are 8am to 4:30pm. The place is not open and its 8:23am. Its a car line outside the gate, which is closed. And they are not open on the weekends. In Illinois Government buildings are open 6 days maybe 7 depending on what county you are in. The Government should be here to serve the people.... not the other way around.
rude, lazy people. the manager would not transfer my vehicle, I had my insurance, inspection, title, transfer application, rebuild statement, and recite. white lady who sits at the top told me I had to come back tomorrow and she'll transfer it, but not today.....WAST OF TIME! DO NOT GO HERE! YOU WILL WASTE YOUR TIME!!!
The only reason I gave it a 5 star is for Judge Eric William Carter ⚖️ He is such fair and kind man! The problem here are his window clearks... they will not understand anything, they are rude and have no patience. But is not fair for the judge to give a bad expirance because of rest of the staff. …
I had a court date at this location and the judge didn't hold everyone to the same accountability. Illegal immigrants were given a pass for no license and no insurance that is not fair. I had no words, the ticket they had to pay was so cheap less than $100. He didn't even ask them to try to obtain anything. Smh
If you plan on being here get a folding chair, drinks, food or snacks, bring headphones, portable charger, and be ready for the long wait of 1 1/2 hours for something that you can do at a window that takes 5 minutes. This is why health insurance can't be provided by the government. You would die waiting
96% of the people here are rude as hell and have no patience to try to help you out. They expect you know everything about court even if your new. Sometimes they don't let u speak and talk over you. My first time to court and I was so clueless on certain things cause they didn't want to help.
Poor service - slow, inefficient and often inaccurate information being given. You wait in line standing to get basic info and wait times are often 30+ minutes. No one helps to confirm you have everything prior to waiting. For such a large city this process is just outrageous.
the people that work at the North Sheperd location are so RUDE and NASTY they treat the customers so awful. Why are they allowed to do this ?? I hate going into that building . and they are so slow working, PLEASE RETRAIN YOUR WORKERS TO BE COURTESY .
Great. I got there early and was out fast. Enjoying my new plates for my car, the simple Black lettering and silver color plate will look good. It does get busy there but they do have a HUGE parking lot. Friendly and fast service.
Googled a court location close by home, but was a bit nervous because of the reviews, but have to say everyone there was all smiles and very helpful. Thank you to Judge Eric William Carter for helping out with my nerves....
Hello I just sent an email today trying to get an appointment. But no response yet. Does anybody knows how long they take to approve an appointment? I need to register a utility trailer. Thanks
Horrible experience specially the people from the eviction court they look like they don’t want to help you at all. I hope they hire nice workers that really want to help people in need.
Worst customer service they look at you all mean and nasty. If you don't like your job then quit. They don't help you at all. They need to be fired and get replace with better people
Appreciate the new system. No super long lines, very organized. Went to get sticker for my truck and was in and out in under 20 minutes and came in after 10am. Good job.
Lori H. was very helpful when I went to retrieve my son’s birth certificate. She answered all my questions thoroughly and efficiently. She was very sweet and welcoming.
Slow service, all cashiers were open but none of them provided service during 40 minutes. Judge has to do something about this it's our taxes that are working for us.
To many freaken people here and lines are crazy there always rude n make u stand in line so when u get to both oh u need this n that ♂️♂️♂️ …

Waited 2 hours for them to just deny my title transfer, went to another office and they did it no problem. Horrible service!
Bad service a lot of people need help and just 3 windows open, waiting for more then two hours this is ridiculous! …
