Okay let me start by saying I don't usually like fried chicken but the chicken here I'll eat. It's perfectly crispy, not too greasy and not overly breaded. Seriously the best fried chicken I've ever had. Then you add the roti, curry and rice and it's the perfect meal packed full of flavor. The drinks and desserts are also wonderful. More

This location is alot more spacious than the other one...slightly different menu. Went around lunch time and it wasn't busy. The staff was great and the food is really good. Great portions and ok price. The ground pork is really spicy. The fried chicken is also good. When we come back to Portland we will definitely come back!!

This is one of my favorite Thai spots in Portland. It’s not a restaurant, though the prices are quite high. The portions are solid and the chicken is amazing. The curry is one of my favorites to date, and I highly recommend their Pandan dessert. The hot Yai for 4 was great value and well worth it. Definitely come here. More

So impressed! The atmosphere was casual and inviting. I ordered this great combo plate and was not disappointed, the chicken was cooked perfectly, the curry was sweat and spicy, whatever that bread stuff was.. OMG. . Some lovely plants and pictures, the cook was singing. What more can I say, I will be back soon.

This was a recommendation from someone we met and the food was amazing. I had the Hat Yai combo and the curry is so flavorful and not too hot. The chicken is great! Not heavily breaded but full of flavor. There is a sweet sauce that comes with them that is also a nice surprise. I will definitely come back. More

Great vibes, very cute decor. Food was delicious, I got one of the specials and it was very flavorful. Will definitely be back to try the fried chicken! Service was great too, the person at the front counter was really kind and patient. Food came out quickly too! And we enjoyed the outdoor seating. More

The fried chicken is amazing. It is so crisp and tasty. I really enjoyed the curry too. They had meals for one, two and four. Great space to eat inside or out. I did not get a chance to try one of the tasty drinks but I'll have to go back several more times to try everything. It all looked so good. More

I've frequented here at least once a week for the first year I discovered it. Even years later, I still crave their fried chicken wings. My favorite is the spicy duck curry, but the roti and pickled vegetables are a great pairing. Honestly, everything here is a 10/10. More

Excellent meal with my husband. First timers. We ordered wings, Phuket Hokkien noodles, fried chicken/curry/roti and mango coconut horchata. Everything was excellent! Love love the crispy, tasty wings and chicken! We definitely would return. More

The food here is just so damn good. Especially the curry with roti combo. It’s a must-try! I’ve ordered many other things here as well and I am always impressed. Just incredible! I also really love their mango horchata, with or without alcohol.

Yay! So happy this location is open. It is such a beautiful, bright space. The service was so friendly and fast too. Now the food....was delicious! I absolutely loved my chicken and the curry was the perfect sauce to dip all the things in!

This place has an interesting, Thai-influenced menu, highlighted by fried chicken. However, the curries are what blew me away. The malayu curry was rich, a little sweet, and pretty much what I dream of for a Thai curry. The braised chicken

Unfortunately, this was one of my favorite spots, but the last few food orders have been big let downs and inconsistent. Undercooked rice, cold and not fresh Roti, and on to go orders the sauce portions were far too small. If I’m going to

I’m originally from Hatyai. Came here all the time when I visit Portland. Loved their food, very authentic southern Thai food. I feel bad to leave a negative review but I had to so the management can improve their food better. I had early

I love crispy chicken skins and this fried chicken does not disappoint! Did the Hat Yai for two and it was amazing! The curry is fantastic and rich. Plenty of food for the two of us. We got Thai ice tea to wash it down. Lots of indoor and

Ordered the Hat Yai Combo and Thai coffee. Came out fast and very hot, received an extra piece of chicken even! Everything was enjoyable, particularly the pickles helped cut through the fatty chicken. The chicken had a great crust and was

Love this place, and my goto place for fried chicken and some thai Malaysian flavors. The parata, and the curries were excellent. The side sauce does complement the dishes well. The pickled onions, radish, jalapeños, and chilli were good

Y’all looking for the best fried chicken in Portland and Oregon? This is it. Incredible spices, perfect cook, beautiful Thai sweet chili sauce on the side, and it can be ordered to share with your whole group via a full bird. You need to

Lip-smacking crispy Thai-style fried chicken!!! I love the roti sets that come with roti and curry for dipping. Everything here is so tasty. The chicken is crispy and moist and goes well with the curry and roti. The pickled veggies that

Really wanted to love this place as it has been on my list for quite a while, however, it was lacking. The fried chicken was mostly bone with no sauce. They just provide a side of the typical bottled Thai sweet chili sauce which isn’t a

First time visiting Oregon and my Son and Daughter in Law took us here our last night! OMG! We definitely would have eaten here more than once had we come earlier in our visit. The food was amazing. We got the whole fried chicken for 4.

I love the food! My husband and I are new in town, so we explore around and found this place. We ordered Hat Yai for 2. It comes with sticky rice, curry dipping with roti (some kind of roti prata), four pcs of fried chicken, sauces, and

  • Jaszy Curious

The curry was smooth, but the flavor was bland. The fried chicken tasted very common, but the roti was top notch. Overall, I get the business model of serving Roti with curry, but charging $4 for a small side of rice is very outrageous.

  • Annette Morrison

The food at Hat Yai was lovely! The chicken was fried and spiced well, and so tender and juicy. We opted for the 4 person shared chicken, which came with roti, rice, and sweet curry. The curry was delicious and well balanced, and went

Great Thai spot, with some variations on what I'm used to seeing at Thai restaurants. The southern phad Thai was yummy with a little kick. The quarter fried chicken with curry and roti was yummy! I would not get the coffee again (the

This review is just for the Phuket hokkien noodles and pad thai. Both get two thumbs up from this snobby eater. I wasn't in the mood for fried chicken so was happy that they had other options. Both were absolutely delicious and well

A bit over priced but the food was good. I’ve had better sticky rice in my life. But The chicken skewers were pretty good. The fried chicken wings were flavorful, but next time I might ask them to fry mine for an extra 90 seconds or

Came in on the last day of a 3-week cross country trip from MA to WA, and can safely say that the vegan curry combo with roti and fried chicken wings was one of the best things I ate on my whole trip. Deep, rich flavors with really

A beast restaurant! I love the fried chicken here, so authentic and so southern style Thai fried chicken. I really enjoyed the time here. My recommendation would be order sticky rice with wings. It’s super amazing!

Delicious food and I'm happy with the selection of beer. I saw the cocktails too late though, lol. I will be back! The quantity of food was rather smaller than expected though that's why four stars. More

Some really delicious food with balanced options for everyone in your group! We enjoyed a couple of dishes from the menu including pad thai, the half fried chicken and the roti with curry.

I was so ready to be blown away by Hat Yai, and although the flavors were rich and complex, ultimately it comes down to whether I'd spend the money again and the answer is regrettably no.

  • Steve Abrahao

This is a must if you’re in Portland. The food has some of the most amazing flavors and the fried chicken is a must. Cauliflower sides is a game changer and I loved the roti.

  • Roam & Wander

Easily one of the more unique Thai food experiences I've had. Flavorful but definitely not large portions and pricey, but to a certain point, what isn't nowadays?

Super quick service, albeit somewhat clueless, but not worth waiting for. The food is very bland, and smells off. Maybe bad or unclean oil? Certainly

Chicken taste great and a good departure from the usual fried chicken fare. The roti is flavorful and their ground Thai pork is but yummy.
