Sassy receptionist lady gave so much attitude (I believe her name is Anna) I was mistakenly booked in for my second vaccination shot on a public holidays (a month in advance), I warned a doctor that I'm going on holidays right before my planned second shot. She said it's fine and booked me in for a next available monday after I'm back On the day of my appointment I found out that clinic is closed. The next day I gave them a call to say that I was booked in for a public holidays, but they were closed and asked if I can now get another booking And in respond I've got "No, you couldn't been booked as system wouldn't allow it" in a pretty rude manner. I answered that obviously it happened, therefore I need another appointment, the receptionist repeated herself in accusing manner again that it's impossible and I'm wrong. "the system wouldn't allow them to book" After a minute of arguing with her over something that obviously has happened I finally repeated myself that I need to make another booking. She put me on hold, when she was back she carried on with her attitude "don't you check your messages?" I said that I didn't get any -"The doctor has been trying to call you few times" with following respond "I didn't get any messages, only one missed call, but I was on holidays, there was no reception (it's an island)" "And didn't you think to return the call?" Again I repeated my answer that there was no reception. That is NOT OK talk to a customers in this tone, have 0 manners and people skills, fully on accusing me in their own mistake whereas all I wanted is just to reschedule my vaccination. I've been to this clinic already few times, and doctors and nurses are really nice, but people might never come back after such an attitude they are given by a reception staff
I was provided wonderful treatment and care by Dr Amir and Nurse Soo Young on a Friday evening here at Castle Hill Medical Centre, Barwell Ave. I had pierced the bottom of my foot on something sharp when going on an early evening walk and was bleeding alot from the puncture wound but didn't know what I had stepped on. I was very grateful to be treated by Dr Amir who had a wonderful bedside manner and who carefully and skilfully examined my wound and found that I had pierced my foot with glass and there was a fragment of glass still lodged on the sole of my foot. I was provided wonderful treatment and nursing care and with both Dr Amir and Nurse Soo Youngs teamwork they were able to remove the piece of glass from my foot. They did careful preparatory work and disinfection/wound care procedures both pre and post removal of the glass that was lodged. I commend them for their medical expertise and kind care they gave me. I am very grateful that Castle Hill Medical Centre Barwell was open late to 8pm and had a well equipped medical examination /surgical area for patients with a dedicated nurse(s) and doctor(s) team. Thank you also to the lovely receptionist who helped me know how to get to the centre and reassuring me there was a nurse and doctor who could see me. They were a wonderful Medical team.
Unprofessional Behavior of Clinic Doctor and receptionist we’ve called the centre before we heading to the clinic just to make sure they can see us. We arrived 10 minutes after the call. After the doctor seeing 2 patients and I am the next in the line. Suddenly, looks like the doctor took a break and engaging in an extended conversation with the receptionist, laughing and chatting, while I waited patiently for my turn. It was 1 hour wait, from 7:30pm to 8:30 pm on a Thursday night!!! A whole one hour without seeing any patients !!! I have no idea if it’s normal! But when I ask how long will I get to see the doctor!!! They replied: “”””””I don’t know could be a while!!!!! “””””” but they close at 9pm!!!!! Not only was this behavior highly unprofessional, but it also displayed a lack of respect for me as a patient. I felt ignored and disregarded as the doctor seemed more interested in socializing than attending to my medical needs. This experience left me feeling frustrated and disheartened. As a medical professional, it is expected that doctors prioritize the well-being and timely care of their patients. Unfortunately, the conduct displayed by your doctor fell far below these standards. I believe that such behavior compromises the integrity and reputation of your clinic.
I've had the worst experience today. Each time I tried to say something to the receptionist lady, she would boldly interrupt, and upon pointing that out she would snap back and say that it was me interrupting. I asked her at least 5 times if she can find me a 5:30 booking, she kept insisting that "patients normally make an advanced booking", I kept pointing out that 5:30 is an advanced booking... she kept saying she doesnt have anything on Monday.... OMG!!!! eventually she understood (that I need a 5:30 booking) and found the 5:30 booking.. Then I asked to confirm if we have seen that doctor before (yes, I do care which doctor I am seeing!!!) She abruptly told me that she can't find the name on file and it felt like she just wanted to end the call. When I insisted she decided to do another search by my child's birthday and found the name... I expressed my frustration and she just hung up and wouldn't pick up amymore. It took her a mere 5 minutes to ruin my morning... It seems that both Castle and Castle Hill Medical Centres (they are affiliated) has groomed a team of rude and snappy receptionists. I cannot understand how one choses to work in a medical industry and ends treating patients like prison inmates. Perhaps prison job is best suited?
Reception is quite pushy to get an appointment or charge out of you, also dont listen to what you request! Details: I called to see whether they had a scan from 2020 in their system, due to COVID, I went to a medical centre instead of my GP. It was so long ago I couldn't remember which med centre in Castle hill I went to. The call was rushed and the lady didn't understand what I was after. I had to repeat myself and stand my ground multiple times because she kept trying to book me an appointment (I didnt NEED one) and kept trying to get me to fill out a 'scans retrieval form'/'records transfer form' which had a charge. I didn't even KNOW whether they even had my data on file and she wanted me to pay for it even if they didn't have any scans on file. I had to be very firm and push for them to check whether they even had it. She said she would call back that day and DIDN'T. I had to call a few days later to sort things out. In the end, I found my scan FOR NO CHARGE at the radiology place. Stand your ground and don't let medical people get you to do stuff without you double checking things!
I’ve been coming to castle hill medical centre for 30 years, originally with dr Miller and more recently with dr Ryan who are both great, this morning I accidentally booked online with dr James Bennett but since I just needed a referral I continued with the appointment. I found him to be a little rude but dismissed it and continued with the consult and since the consultation lasted around 2 minutes I asked if he could bulk bill the appointment as I know it’s at the discretion of the dr, he then proceed to tell me it was disrespectful that I had asked, to which I was quite taken back considering his agitated manor during the appointment and the length of the appointment. I though was a bit unnecessary and there was no questions as to why I asked to be bulk billed, no question of my financial state just an uncaring response I wouldn’t expect from a medical professional. I also don’t like the new process that you have to enter in your bank details to be able to book an appointment at a clinic that used to be 100% bulk billed, it feels more like a business than a dr surgery
The CHMC used to be the Castle Medical Centre right next to Chemist Warehouse on Old Northern Road near the junction with Castle Hill Road - Barwell Ave centre needed a medical centre to add to its range of medical outlets, scanning facilities, chemist, etc. and CHMC moved over. CMC was the bulk-bill arm of CHMC but not sure if this is the case now. People often find the building confusing because it's two conjoined centres in a way (going to the caarpark to get your X-rays done or some other specialist) - but thankfully CHMC itself is pretty straightforward. Barwell Ave front entrance is the way in as the name suggests. The place was freshly done up during the covid years and moved into, so it mirrors the other location in Castle Mall for decor. This is where you get your covid vaccines done so don't confuse Castle Mall with this location. If you like CHMC then you'll like this place too. There's Macca's next door, parking in front, not noisy.
I don't usually leave reviews, but this time I'll make an exception. Recently, I had an appointment with doctor Kaul who, after examining my son, said it was impetigo, showing pictures of children on the computer. These photos were of children who were covered with pustules on their faces. They looked like children with leprosy. When my son saw them, he started screaming and crying, thinking that he would turn into some kind of monster. My son had one blister on his nose! The Doctor didn't even react when he saw him crying I was completely shocked! I couldn't believe that is happening. That was a nightmare! That night my son couldn't sleep and kept asking me if something grew on his face. I have never experienced something like that before in my entirelife! Absolutely unprofessional. P.s Yesterday i have received the result - Impetigo- not detected!
I arrived 8.45am to be met warmly by Marie, for Pathology the lass was lovely and good at her job, whilst waiting for pathology Bec came and chatted to me always so lovely, Marie had followed my request and found out if Dr Kommal wanted me to have any tests whilst there. Dr Kommal came out and saw me personally about it when her patient left, charming as usual. My appointment with Dr Kommal at 10am was as ever a very happy experience, she is a great Dr couldn't wish for better. The new practice is a good experience, however it was so when the practice was at Chemist Warehouse. I did remember when I got home that perhaps I should have paid a bill for the visit, as rules now have changed, sorry if that is the case please notify me and I will arrange payment. Thanking you very much. Helen Kitchner
Absolute rudeness! I have been going to this place for a long time and the male receptionist today was the rudest I've ever come across! When asking to speak to a nurse I was hung up on. Was rude when I said the doctor wanted to see my son today for a follow up and said "well you should have booked in then" in a condescending tone. I called back because I wanted to talk to the nurse and he hung up on me. I then called back to ask what day the manager was working next and he did not tell me, just rudely said they don't work weekend I said yes , that's why I'm asking. He then said because he was going to talk to the doctor and book my son in but now he won't because so how I was rude. Will be speaking to the practice manager
Went in this afternoon just to get some nurofen for a migraine that was just starting, after a million questions which I expected I was then asked to get on the bed to do an exam on my neck??!! I refused, I was just after some nurofen plus to take while I got my kids from school and mersyndol to take tonight if I needdd it. I don’t need a thorough examination I’ve been doing this for years, and it gets me thru while I am able to still look after my kids. I was made to feel like a drug dealer, who is lucky to have made it to pick up my kids and lucky another mother is stocked up on nurofen and was happy to part with 2. So upset with this practice at how they’ve made me feel.
Horribly inept and discriminatory. Wilful abuse and gaslighting of people with disabilities, and cannot be trusted. The attitudes of these so called medical professionals is abhorrent and quite frankly they should hang their heads in shame. Your claims below are absolutely untrue, and the fact you continue to gaslight me is disgusting. You have said that the practice will not see me, so don't lie to the public to make your feel better. There was absolutely no abuse at all to the doctor. In fact I called him out on it right away as he gaslit me and claimed I was being abusive when I was not at all. That's slander btw.
Unreasonable gap payment and not worth the extra bucks! We met the Dr on Saturday and were charged 67$, we had a follow up on Monday and we're charged 95$. There were no blood tests or reports, just regular flu/covid consultation for a gap payment of 60$! Wouldn't recommend unless it's urgent care. Update: There's no point in an explanation when the rebate doesn't come in after a week and we are expected to follow up with medicare for it. The receipt for the service was provided only after we asked for it. So unprofessional. This is the last thing one would want to do when one is recovering from illness.
Stay away from this centre. Average service, nothing special. You'd get the same service if not better from another medical centre that totally bulk bills. There's a number of them around the area. I felt ripped off paying so much for a standard consultation. Was going to this centre when they bulk billed patients, so I was surprised to see a statement of nearly $60 on top of my medicare benefits for my blood test results. I have a medical condition and I need regular consultations. Paying $60 per visit is too much as I also need to buy a long list of maintenance medicines. Their fees will kill me!!!
This center is our favourite medical center in Castle hill. With the best staff and general practitioners. The nurses are so considerate and respectful. The admin team are so helpful and loving. The staff love their job and respect to you and your time. We have been visiting Dr Komal Naqvi since we moved to Castle hill on 2019. She is so patient, friendly, and informative. She is our first choice to visit all the time. She is so passionate and kind to her patients. All my family are so grateful for her support and great work.
This is a great medical centre. They look after us specially my little one they are the best by far. I need to Mention Dr. komal Naqvi is a great GP and she is our family doctor since we moved from Castle Hill. I mever had any issues having her as our family GP. Very professional and most helpful GP. Make us feel comfortable and welcome everytime we are in the centre. Staff and Everyone working there are all Professional and Friendly. Kind Regards May
Mum had a small fall today and visited the medical center for basic review and treatment. Was pro actively contacted as next of kin by a lovely nursing staff member "Carla?" I believe who showed great care and concern for her condition in our conversation. Mum as patient also said the nurse was extremely kind, caring, helpful. Wonderful service, thanks so much for your professional, thoughtful and caring work today, just lovely!
Efficient and competent service for a deep laceration to my finger. Assessed/triaged by Nurse Bec, wound reviewed by Dr Andrew and treatment plan discussed with me. Decided to use Steri strips after cleaning and disinfecting the wound. Neat job by Nurse Bec. Urgent Care initiative worked very well and saved me waiting in line for hours in Emergency. Overall, very impressed with the Barwell Ave Castle Hil Medical Centre.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND Castle Medical Centre as I was there at 3:50pm and I thought it would be a great idea to get a script filled out as I was in the chemist but I was wrong as I was turned away because the 1 and only doctor that was on had to go and get her kids surely as your times clearly state that you are open till 6pm you should have more doctors in so I will not be returning to Castle Medical Centre POOR SERVICE!!
I found this clinic when I moved to the Hills District 3 years ago. My whole family sees Dr Kormal. It’s not often you get such a great doctor. She is so thoughtful and supportive. She really represents the true purpose of a gp- supporting us in all stages of life and helping us have a high quality of life, not just someone you see when you need a medical certificate. We are so grateful to have a doctor like her.
Generally good environment and friendly staff. I understand that there is a gap payment but only found this out after I had left the premises and was called by the staff. I would strongly suggest that this gap payment is advised to all on entry or when registering at the reception. Maybe you had done this, but I certainly did not see this information at the reception and that creates disappointment.
Amazing medical practice with excellent doctors. I saw Dr Vicky and she was exceptional and went above and beyond to help me with my health problems. Really great doctor addressed all concerns thoroughly. Dr Patrick is also exceptional very knowledgeable doctor. Receptionists are very friendly and helpful and there is a lot of parking. Highly recommend. Wouldn’t go anywhere else.
We visited this clinic yesterday 15 mins before it was closing. Our toddler was vomiting a lot and we just needed to see a doctor. The receptionist was very accommodating and warm. The GP we visited was also great. He spent almost 15-20 mins discussing the entire case with us and provided the right medication just when we needed it. Thanks! You saved our night.
Went for booster dose of Pfizer. The medical Centre is brand new and is different to the old medical Centre which is now relocated to old northern road. Even though I was late by 10mts to the appointment, receptionist was calm and helpful. Immediately seen by a doctor and was out in 15 mts after the Jab. Thanks for making my first visit a good one.
Made a booking online to fit into my schedule for a Covid vax. Was later called to say they could not do that day and had to change to another day so rearrange my meetings. Turn up on time and had to wait for half an hour for the doctor to see me before the nurse could give me the vax. Nurse was great but they could do a better job of scheduling.
Took wife to follow up on diabetes test results. No issue so good. Dr Komal kindly reminded us that we still haven’t taken the Shingles vaccine. So me and wife both took our first dose. They said will send reminder for our next one. Very helpful indeed. Thank you n have a very Merry Christmas to all the doctors nurses n supporting staff.
This was our first visit and it was a walk in. The front desk was so helpful and friendly. We saw Dr Edison who was very comforting to my son who was quiet anxious with his medical issue. Dr Edison was confident and reassuring. Will definitely be coming to this practice the next time we need medical assistance. Thank you
Told to be here before 13:45 and arrived at 13:20 for a walk in appointment. Extremely rude receptionist saying there is no way I can see a doctor(place is dead quiet and empty). She goes out back to find out who I spoke to and comes back saying I'm at the complete wrong place and directs me somewhere else. What a joke.
I'm a patient, and I've been going to the Barwell Medical centre for about 15 years. I am so happy with my treatment there especially Dr Golam and Ann the red haired receptionist...friendly warm people especially to the elderly like me. I'm looking forward to many more years of going to their family practice.
Barwell medical centre is a wonderful medical centre , my family including myself have been attending this centre for 12 to 15 years , they have very good doctors there & even the receptionist are very friendly & helpful in particular Anne, she is very professional but also very helpful & very friendly .
The receptionist Anna has a terrible phone manner and is consistently rude every time I speak to her, even at the front desk. The new centre is nice however and my experience with the majority of the doctors has been positive and they have been thorough - all the stars are for the wonderful doctors.
Came for the first time here today. The Receptionist was so friendly and nice. Saw Dr Packiam and she went out of her way to fix my issue. Definitely would come back and would recommend her and this medical practice to everyone. It’s also very convienent being next to Chemist Warehouse too
The receptionist was extremely rude and constantly interrupted me when I was explaining mu situation. When I booked over the phone, they failed to mention a $180 fee and when I questioned it in person I was met with the worst attitude. Very dissapointed and I will not be coming back.
We took our son to Castle Hill Medical Centre, Barwell Ave and again justified our decision to move to this medical center and to use Dr Luke Ryan as our GP. Thorough, knowledgeable, efficient service from the Doc and friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommend this provider.
The GP was really good. The staff at reception is atrociously bad. She kept me waiting while she cleaned a few chairs and then as rude as you can get. She obviously does not want to be there. They are still paranoid about the virus - totally over the top. Also very expensive.
Professional medical centre. Very pleasant setting, easy parking with friendly relatable and experienced doctors that are interested in your health. I never feel rushed during any consult. Downstairs is Lawton house X ray and Douglas Hanley Moir clinic. So convenient.
I along my family have visited Barwell Medical Centre in Castle Hill few times now, the service is impeccable. Dr Mohit Sharma and his team of staff are very welcoming, supporting professionals and very efficient. We highly recommend them. Regards, Navneet Anand
The purpose of the telehealth call was to obtain antiviral drugs as I have tested positive for Covid today. The doctor was a little late in calling me but was very professional and I had the e-script on my phone immediately after the call. Excellent service!
I Bob Charlesworth, went to the Castle Hill Medical Centre at Barwell Centre, and although there was only 1 other person in the waiting room, and I still had to wait 40 minutes with the doctor in his surgery with no other patients. Not good enough.
The services that I receive from barwell medical centre is excellent. Dr. Mohit sharma and the staff are friendly and ensure that I am properly informed about my health and care. I would have no qualms in recommending them to friendly and friends.
Over the past few visits, my wife and I have frequented this clinic without significant issues. However, today's experience left us both deeply dissatisfied and quite upset. We were billed a surprising $95 for a follow-up telephonic
Had to see a doctor on a Saturday and found this Clinic. The receptionist was polite but apparently they did not have all my details from the app so had to fill in the forms again. Had to wait around an hour to be seen by Dr. Komal.
Great medical centre with friendly and caring staff, the receptionists are wonderful, they are always responding well and do follow up with the Dr quickly. I see Dr.Komal, she is experienced, professional, and knowledgeable.
I had the misfortune of dealing with Sophia today who clearly couldn’t care less about anyone apart from herself! No understanding or regard for a patients needs. Hopefully she isn’t there if you have to go to this place!!
Staff, nurses, and dr’s that I met were all happy and helpful, even on a Monday at 5.30pm when running behind. I’m not good with needles but nurses made the experience as pleasant as it could be. Very happy visit.
These guys are great compared to some of the others around the neighbourhood.they Listen to what you have to say, empathetic, thorough diagnostics and give a complete check up. To top it all off they were on time!
I like the Castle Hill Medical Centre, Barwell Ave. as this is where I found a 'good' doctor, one that cares for his patients and looks at you to the face while you talk to him, Thank you Doctor James Bennetts
I've seen several doctors at this surgery - Dr Naqvi, Dr Ryan and Dr Bennett. They have all been excellent. They are caring, compassionate and competent. Highly recommend all of them.
Very well presented centre with caring and friendly reception staff..! Dr.Andrew was very friendly too and answered all our queries and gave the right treatment.Highly recommended..!
Visited Barwell Medical Centre in Castle Hill, and the service was impeccable. Dr Mohit and his staff are very professional and efficient. Will highly recommend them, thank you
Friendly front office staff. Excellent and thorough visit with Dr. I was visiting from out of Sydney but would definitely make this my medical practice if I lived in the area.
The clinic is mixed billed, but they don’t tell you beforehand, in addition they don’t tell you as well, a bill just send to your house demanding you to pay, very intimidating
Professional service. I only ever see Dr Mae Tun, she is one of the most qualified, friendly and caring GPs I have come across. Hippocrates would be immensely proud of her!
Recently moved to this area and have found this practice to be accommodating, professional and helpful. Always availability to see a doctor on short notice. Very thorough.
Went to the after hours walk in after tearing the back of my legs, saw the Doctor very quickly, profession attention and care, so glade to be able to go at that time
Poor check-in system. No one was there and people, patients and families of patients, are crammed blocking the front. There's room for improvement here
Great service, seen promptly when my son hit his head on furniture. Staff were friendly, efficient & professional. Wouldn’t hesitate to use again.
I cannot recommend Dr Komal Naqvi more highly. She is kind, considerate and incredibly knowledgeable - it has been a privilege to work with her.
Had to wait over 25 minutes for a vaccine after booking for a specific time. No explanation was given even though it was not very busy.
Dr John is outstanding. A real practitioner rather than prescription writer. Everyone over there is very professional and most helpful.
Wasn't the best service. The doctor there showed lack of interest and asked inappropriate/unnecessary questions. Would not go again
Very nice and helpful people working there. Family atmosphere and a pharmacy right next to it. Top! I will definitely come again.
Staff and Dr - friendly-professional-and kind- Actions eased my mind I would recommend them to all Drop in or give them a call
Dropped in to organise flu shot soon. They arranged for us to get them on the spot. Efficient and pleasant staff all.
Came here for covid booster, was 9 min late but receptionist was friendly and so was the nurse administering the shot
Always welcoming and helpful at the front desk and the doctors and extremely good at what they do. Highly recommend!
Really rude receptionist and careless doctor. I had been waiting for my doctor for an hour and I eventually gave up
Dr Komal Naqvi and Nurse Bec are the best ever and all the Barwell Medical Centre staff …
Great professional and friendly service. Thanks Dr Vicki, reception: Marie, and Nurse Really appreciate your care
Dr Velasquez was very thorough and professional. She was a caring doctor who took time to discuss everything.
The staff are always polite and helpful. The doctors are knowledgeable and are well connected to specialists.
I visited Dr Komal at Health Zone, and had a great experience. The staff at the clinic was very friendly.
The staff are helpful, polite and caring. The place is kept very clean and spotless. Highly recommended.
Everything was fine including good advice about a possible sun spot on my right ear which I will pursue.
A great medical practice. The Doctors and very good and caring, and the rest of the team are friendly.
Fantastic service . Never left waiting . Always on time . Dr Luke is fantastic and extremely thorough
A good experience today- warm and welcoming reception and doctor very friendly but very professional
This is a very friendly and caring practice with wonderful doctors, nurses and reception staff.
receptionists rude, appointments almost never occur on time, medical advice is adequate
Caring doctors and great to have medical services after hours for urgent care services
Reminder sent the day prior to the appointment confirming the time of the appointment.
I went to have a covid booster. Very friendly . Didn't have to wait - very impressed
Excellent service from the admin staff and medical professional who attended me.
Pleasant staff, accurate information, sensible approach, sensitive to my needs.

First visit to this practice and very happy with the service provided.
Both receptionist and medical staff were very friendly and efficient.
