A great community facility. Ceramics and painting studios. Classes available Monday to Thursday. A good basic teaching for beginner potters. It’s a small studio and at times, it is quite crowded. The instructors are very knowledgeable, and helpful. Basic glazing is included in the class. Firing of kilns is under the direction of the pottery director on a weekly basis. Workshops by professional artists are held occasionally. Extra costs are involved. But these are well attended and very informative and relevant. There is a gallery attached to the studios where student paintings and student ceramics are displayed and available for sale. Prices are usually very affordable. Open on Fridays from 12 to 4pm. The Fraser Hay Gallery hosts an annual SALA event in August. And is open for other occasions like pre-Mother’s Day, and during the run up to Christmas. Run by committee of dedicated people, this little art society provides a nice environment to learn new skills, or hone established ones. I would recommend.
